The sun was shining bright, the birds were chirping, it was an all around perfect day. Applejack had asked Rainbow Dash to help around on the farm that day, and since Rainbow Dash is always loyal to her friends, she couldn't refuse. At the farm, while harvesting the apples, they noticed some figures in the distance. Neither of them mentioned it, because Rainbow Dash had decided to disregard it, and Applejack didn't see them, so they just continued harvesting. That is untill Applejack noticed the two figures.
"Hey Rainbow Dash, who do ya reckon those ponies are?" Applejack asked with concern in her voice.
"I really don't know, and honestly I don't really care, I just wanna finish harvesting these apples so I can go fly with Tank." Rainbow Dash said trying to end the discussion.
"Well, I DO care. What if they're bad ponies?" Rainbow Dash noticed that Applejack was honestly worried, she had never seen Applejack be this concerned.
"Well, if they are we can kick their flanks, and look, they're Royal Guards, it's fine. They probably want to tell us something." Rainbow Dash was relived because Applejack was starting to make her a little nervous.
The guards approached the two ponies. They both looked at the apples, then each other. One opened his mouth to say something, but the other guard stopped him and whipered to him, "Let me do the talking."
"Hello there! I see you ponies are harvesting apples." One said in a voice that sounded a little too friendly.
"Um, hi, why are you guys here?" Rainbow Dash noticed that they were being more friendly then usual, so she thought it was bad news of some sort, maybe regarding one of the princesses.
"Well, we need those apples for um... tax collection" One of the Royal Guards said with a smug sounding voice.
"Um, I'm sorry, did I hear ya correctly? Did you say you need MAH apples for YOUR tax collection! Celestia has never taxed us!" Applejack said enraged by what the Royal Guards were saying.
The one who had said nothing before immediatly pushed past the other and went right up to the two ponies with his spear in his hoof. "Well then I guess this is the first one, now you hand over those apples or you're gonna have a problem."
"OR WHAT! You'll kill us? HA! Celestia and Luna wouldn't NEVER allow that, and you two would be in prison for the rest of your pathetic lives!" Rainbow Dash yelled, very confident in herself that she would scare the guards off. "Well, Luna was the one who told us to do this, so I'm gonna count to 5, and if I don't have your apples, as I said before, you're going to have a 'severe' problem."
"Wait what! APPLEJACK GET THEM THE APPLES!" Rainbow Dash SCREAMED.
"OKAY OKAY, GIVE ME A SECOND!" Applejack said as she ran to the wheelbarrows that contained the harvested apples, Rainbow Dash ran over to help too. They both started wheeling over apples as fast as they could, and they finished when the guard was at "4"
"There, you have your apples, now leave us ALONE!" Rainbow Dash said, demanding that they leave.
"Alrighty then, have a nice day." The one with the spear said smirking as they both left the farm. They both just stood there, not doing any thing. Applejack just sits on the ground, as Rainbow Dash paces back and fourth angrily.
"... I'm ruined... my family and I built this farm from the ground up, with our own hooves, and they ruined us... that was the entire harvest of apples..." Applejack said as she just sits there with the most shocked expression on her face.
"NO, YOU'RE NOT RUINED, DON'T SAY THAT!!!" She sighed "We have to go talk to our friends, get some ideas on how to get you enough money to keep the farm. come one let's GO!" Rainbow Dash said. Applejack sat there, still completely shocked at what had happened.
"Well, if you're not going then I will go alone and I'm going to go get our friends together and tell them what happened, we WILL save your farm and get revenge on those evil, corrupted guards!" Rainbow Dash said, and as soon as she finished what she said, she jumped in the air, and bolted away from the farm towards Twilight's house.
