Day 1~

Circumstances being what they were, it was ironic that Mi Amore Cadenza knew little more of Shining Armor than his name.

He must be rich, she thought, scanning the foyer, which revealed quite clearly how well-off the Sparkle family was.

The deep side of the expansive entry opened into a sprawling formal living room of pale yellows and muted golds. Above was a great crystal chandelier. Behind her, a stairway climbed dramatically to the second story.

She was faced by double doors, a console table whose cabriolet legs touched the parquet framed as lightly as a ballerinas toes and a brass accent lamp reflected by a gilt framed mirror.

Beside her stood a immense brass pitcher bursting with a abundance of overpoweringly fragrant dried eucalyptus. The overpowering scent was beginning to make the pink pony sick.

She turned her eyes to the massive oak entry doors. The knobs weren’t shaped like any she’d ever seen. Instead, they were curved and swirled like the handles of the cutlery.

Acidly Cadence wondered how much handles like those must cost, to say nothing of the pretentious bench on which she’d been left. It was lush brown velvet, armless, tufted, bench, the kind of absurd extravagance afforded by only the very rich.

Yes, the entire foyer was a work of art and if beauty. Everything in it fit……..Except Cadence herself.

The girl was attractive enough, her pink fur and yellow, purple and pink mane having a fresh, vital look. Her feature bore the strikingly appealing symmetry often found in those royal ponies, sharply, purple eyes beneath arched brows of pleasing contour.

It was her clothing that gave her away.

She wore a uncouth heather colored dress that spoke of the brighter days long gone. It was homemade and of poor fabric. Her coat was limp, frayed at hem and cuff.

From behind the study door Shining armors voice exploded “Who!” and her eyes came open to the sound of his voice.

He doesn’t remember me, she thought again, making sure to not make any eye contact.

“Cadence…?” He asked, to the mare’s surprise her predictions were false, The colt somehow did remember her, much to her dismay her purple eyes drifted away from the colts bright blue eyes. Maybe, like her, all he remembered about her truthfully besides the events resulting in the reason they knew one another in the first place.

“Hello, Shinning Armor….” She mumbled, maintaining that false air of aloofness, Shining armor looked at her from head to hoof.

“What are you doing here?” Cadence more then anything wanted the colt to leave before she remembered the disgraceful thing that happened between the two.

“Oh…..Um, you see I….” Cadence didn’t want to reveal the fact she wasn’t suppose to be at the Gala in the first place, she wasn’t formally invited like the Sparkle family she was there only because she found a ticket on the ground.

“I…was invited….” Fortunately the colt wasn’t aware of her status as a low class mare that had to make money just so she could eat everyday and if she didn’t, she wouldn’t get to eat till she did. Her cutie mark didn’t have to do anything with a job in the community; her cutie mark was to spread love.

Of course, that’s okay to, but spreading love wasn’t a job and if it was she would be the boss and she would maybe be as rich as The Sparkles.

“What are you wearing….?” He asked, she almost knew he was going to ask that, what could she say then, she couldn’t say that she could only make one cause she didn’t have enough money to buy one.

All she had was some fabric and sewing needles from her grandmother who used to make cloth but Cadence was no dressmaker.

“I…Um…made it…..” Cadence, on the Brightside of this lying streak it was half of the ugly truth, Shining armor smiled to Cadence’s surprise.

“Well its looks great…..” He complimented, he looked so truthful but she knew he was lying, if you knew Cadence long enough you would know whenever she lies she has this weird look. Since she was usually an honest pony and she wasn’t one to lie so lying was a whole new concept.

So she didn’t have the greatest poker face, per say, in fact you shouldn’t even call it a poker face it didn’t deserve that kind of recognition. She truly felt bad about lying to Shining armor, he has no idea she was such a low class pony.

If he did they would never have had that one night stand together, “Thank you….” She said looking at him coldly trying her best to be posh.

“Do you remember what happened…..On July the forth…” Shining armor reminded, Cadence wanted to die, she was trying to forget what happened but he kept bringing it up. She remembered it, perfectly now.

She signed, remembering what happened at the firework party she went to, it was a local thing, but she bumped into the white colt and they began to talk, she had pretending she had a big family.

Even though her whole family is dead and spoke of how they were quite wealthy except for the fact she wasn’t. It was horrible what she got herself into, she was ashamed she hoped she would never see him again so she wouldn't have to remember it.

“Yeah……I remember…..” She stated her head down afraid to face the pony she was lying to.

“Shining armor!” They heard Shining armor looked behind him to find out who was speaking in such a cold and controlling tone, it sent shivers down the pink pony’s spine.

The colt walked up to the ponys “Father….” Shining armor said as he fully turned to face his father completely, the colt took a scan at the pink pony, he could notice her fate as a low class after the imspection he looked over at Shining armor.

“Do you know this mare….?” The cold tone almost made the pink hoofed pony start shaking, especially with the question he was asking, Shining armor didn’t speak. The father gave up on his son and soon after looked over at Cadence, she was terrified “do you know him?” He questioned.

“Umm…..No…” Cadence lied “just asking where the restroom was in such a huge castle!” She was praying to Celesta that Shining armor would go along with her lie. “Is this true, Shining armor…?”  Shining armor gave a glance at Cadence and then looked back at his father.

"Yes....Very true…” Shining armor lied along with Cadence, his father nodded as Shining armor turned back to Cadence “on the first storey, two doors to the left.” Shining armor said bluntly as if he didn’t know the mare he had done such inappropriate things with.

Cadence bit her lip and then let out a sigh “What have I gotten myself into….?” Cadence asked herself in tears, maybe she should really get to that washroom so she could cry and no one would see her.
