The Academy was intended to be a story told from the perspective of Airheart, as she attends the Wonderbolts Academy and becomes friends with Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane. Airheart becomes witness to the two falling into depression – she attempts to start, and maintain, a romantic relationship with the otherwise lonely and trying Thunderlane, while consoling Rainbow Dash as she continually fails to live up to the impossibly high expectations required of her.

While a draft for The Academy was written in its entirety, only its first three chapters were ever published, and I have no intention on publishing the rest of the novel. However, its narrative, character arcs, and a majority of its dialogue, have been salvaged for an original novel entitled Falcon Academy – it follows a similar story featuring anthropomorphic birds, where an osprey freshman at an aeronautics academy befriends a love-starved peregrine and a prodigious harpy eagle. It will be published sometime in the future. Sometime.
