Kingdom Stars
Smiles And Long Introductions
Load Full StoryNext ChapterTung Tang tung tang, went the train as I sit in my seat listening to its sounds, while look out the window. Watching the little bushes, trees, and shrubs scroll by. My name is Nakadesu; I’m 5’9, with medium wavy curly black hair, light tan, mixed race, (yeah, I have pimples, too) and deep reddish brown eyes. I look to my left to see a girl resting her head on my shoulder. Her name is Shana Mea, about 5’4, cropped black with a blue stripe going down one of the bangs. Light skinned, Polish, one year younger than me, with beautiful brown eyes.
As I watched her sleep, she mumbled “Ah… my apple; give it back… stupid monkey.” I smile at her innocence and told myself how cute she was as I wrapped my arm around her. My best friend Louise looked at us and smiled
“Well aren't we having fun!” He said jokingly laughing a bit.
“Oh shut up!” I said, grinning at his comment.
Louise is about the same age and height as me but with wavy black hair, green eyes, and light skinned. “AH! Shade you were supposed to kill the salamander!” I glanced over at the direction of the yelling to see my two younger brothers. “But Tony, it looked harmless. I can’t kill a defenseless creature.” Tony is 5’4, with blonde Captain America type hair, green eyes, and white skin.
Shade is the youngest of the bunch, about 4’6. Another white boy in the family, blue eyes, and long curly wavy hair. Getting annoyed by their bantering I asked them “What the hell are you guy’s yelling about?” Tony looked at me as though I had said something stupid. “Shade got us killed.” He and Shade puffed up their cheeks which made Louise and I laugh.
“Hey what’s so funny!?!”
“Your face.” They looked at each other, smiled, and we all started laughing again.
I suddenly felt a cold slash of wind on my shoulder to realize that Shana must have woken up.
“Hey sleepy head, dream well?” She looked at me rubbing her eye.
“Uh huh.” Holding me closer she grinned. “What about you? Enjoying the trip so far?”
“It’s better than I thought, since you’re here.” With a sly smile I pull her in a passionate embrace. Louise whistled a cat call at us. “GO NAKA! YOU CAN DO IT.” Blushing at his comment I kiss Shana. “I love you. I love all you guys.”
Tony smile’s brightly. “And we love you, we’re family.” Louise chuckled a little. “Sorry but that was really corny.” Louise said. After our touching moment ended we went back to our own business. I continued to look out the window while cuddling Shana. As time passed the tall buildings of the city started rolling in. “Huh, well, looks like we’re here.” I look at my brothers to see them run up to the window and face planted against the glass.
Finally we were dropped off at the city station; quickly we grabbed our bags and hurried out the cabin. I gazed around the station taking the marvel of the busy people, then I see a man with my name out. As I walked closer to him I got a feeling of joy and tranquility. The man looked at me his eyes full of kindness and love. “Hi, my name is Nakadesu.” The stranger’s smile grew wider.
“Why hello, my name is Arthor I will be your personal driver, butler, science, and gym instructor.” Arthor is a tall man with light skin, gold eyes, medium tousled black hair, with a little scruff of a beard on his surprisingly handsome face. He escorted us to the limo and headed towards the school. I don’t know why but I like to stare out the window when traveling. I took this opportunity to find out more about Arthor and the school. “Hey Arthor, since you’re going to be my new … everything, I want to get to know you better.”
He peers at me through the rear view mirror, his unnatural golden eyes so calming like warming up to a fireplace in the winter. “Well what is it about me that you want to know?”
“Hmm like where are you from? What are you like? Personality wise, that is.”
He considers my questions for a moment then says “I’m from Pennsylvania, I consider myself to be a fun loving a bit of a joker, over confident, awkward, and supremely smart.”
“Also a bit modest.” I mumbled to myself.
In the car I sat between my brothers. Tony took the silence as an opportunity to tell me something.
“Hey, Naka.” I looked at him to see that he was a little sad.
“Yea what’s up Tony?”
“Do you think it was the right choice to leave mom to go to this school?” About two weeks ago a letter with a certificate where sent to a hundred kids with special talents. I haven’t lived with my mom in three years (For reasons I will not explain) so I have been living with my father. The first two years were dreadful for me; I was so depressed for leaving Mom. I know how he feels.
“Tony, you made the right choice to come, and your talent will amaze people all over the world.”
He sighed.
“But what is my talent? Do I even have one? I have no talent!”
“Tony, you and I have the same talent, like mom said 'everyone has a talent.' It doesn't matter what it is, as long you use it for the good of others.”
Tony looked at me smiled and proceeded to hug me. Arthor looked at us with the pride a mother or father would.
“Glad to see you two are so close.” I looked at Arthor and smiled.
“Yea I don’t know what I would do if I ever lost him, the dude's my brother.”
He once again smiled (jeez, people do smile a lot) saying “Well I hope you guys are good fighters.”
Everybody looked at him confused, then Louise spoke up. “Why should we?”
“The school you guys are going to, has a system where everyone should learn how to use a weapon… At least the basics. The reason why is because of the missions you would be doing. I’ll explain that later.” Excitement is starting to swell in my body, feeling giddy. “How will we obtain our weapons?”
“You’ll see tomorrow, today you will get a tour of the school, have dinner, then be shone your rooms.” Tony spoke up, remembering something “Is there a dorm attached or near the school?”
Arthor stuck his bottom lip out, wondering why Tony asked such a weird question. “Yes it’s placed on an island two miles away from the school. Why?”
“How are they set up?”
“There’s only one dorm, but its huge it has to be to hold four hundred kids.”
Louise looked confused. “Wait, I thought there was only hundred certificates sent.”
“Yes there was a hundred sent and the hundred came, but there are the other students from the years before. Right now you guys are freshman, then sophomore, junior, and finally senior.” Arthor quickly added “The east wing is the boys’ the west is the girls’. All of you will have a roommate and I get to choose.” He looked thought fully at us. “Hmm, okay, I choose Naka and Louise, then Tony and Shade. I’ll find you a nice roommate, Shana, so don’t worry.” She nodded in understanding.
Another half hour of driving went by until we saw the school appear. The majesty of the building was like watching Hogwarts and Yosugami High collide and have a bad ass baby. When we got inside we were escorted to the auditorium. Nothing really special about it, save that it is huge. A tall man with blonde hair, red eyes, and a long, red cape came up to the podium. There was something familiar about him that I couldn't put my finger on. When he spoke, it was loud and clear.
“Hello, my new students to Valend academy, the school for the gifted. My name is Ansome; I will be your head master.” He looked to his left to see a bald man, who he introduced. “This is Dave; he is the dean. He will take care of any of the trouble makers and make sure they receive punishment. Now then, on with the presentation!” He gave a long, passionate speech until it was time for the tour. Man, was the tour long! They practically showed us every room in the building; the only things that actually looked different from any other class room is the chemistry room, synthesis room, and the gym.
The gym looked like an Olympic coliseum; it also possessed the technology to change the weather and scenery on the field. The cafeteria was huge with four flat screens covering the top half of the walls playing what looked like the news, and the food actually tasted like it was meant to feed people a good meal! After dinner we were brought to the dorm. Arthor made sure that Tony and Shade’s room was next to Louise and mine’s.
I kissed Shana. “See you in the morning.” She went close to my ear in a whisper. “I’ll see you tonight.” Then poked my cheek playfully. “You bet.” Arthor took her down to her room while we entered ours’. Hearing Tony and Shade play video games made me crave Kingdom Hearts 2, I shook away the craving told my brothers to go to bed soon then did so myself.
I woke up an hour later to Arthor at the door. “She’s waiting for you.” He said with a sly grin. “She’s in her room so it shouldn't be too difficult.”
“Thanks Art.”
“It’s no problem at all, just doing what I’m supposed to.” I spent twenty minutes looking for her room because I forgot to ask him where it is... GENIUS!!! I found it and saw that Shana was asleep on her bed. I didn't want to wake her, so I locked the door and climbed in the bed holding her as I slept.
