Life.View OnlinePrincess EverfreeLife. It all started a very long time ago, when the world of Equestria was still young, and the Princess Luna still stood by her sister Princess Celestia's side, there had been one other princess, her name was Everfree. She was far less important than the other sisters in the eyes of other ponies of the land as her power was to give free will to any and all items and objects... and in a land ruled and controlled by ponies with many unique skills and abilities, her power was close to useless. Feeling insignificant and unappreciated, Princess Everfree fled from the castle of the sisters and flew to uncharted lands. After finding a bare, beautiful and uninhabited spot, the princess had decided that this place would be absolutely perfect for her own little kingdom. A place where everything would do their tasks on their own, so that all of the hard working ponies that lived there and in Equestria would have more time for themselves and their own lives. The plants would grow on their own with out needing to be tended to, the animals would know how to take care of themselves no one to help them, the clouds would come and go on their own, not needing any pegasi ponies to move them with their schedule. All races of ponies would love it here. As thought the Princess. They would be able to frolic and play and just not have to worry about the daily struggles like they had to while in Equestria! Having exited herself about her own ideas, the princess used her magic, the magic of free will, to engulf the uninhabited land. Soon after the magic had reached the land, the land had started to sprout lush grass, bushes and beautiful trees. Flowers of all shapes, kinds and colors would blossom and bloom. Soon enough, animals of all kinds that had never been seen before in Equestria had started appearing within the forest... Being pleased with the result, the princess had invited some ponies to come and live in her newly created place, The Everfree forest as she called it. At first all of the races of ponies had absolutely loved it, having no true responsibilities while being within the boundaries of the forest. It was new and exciting and there was all ways much more for the ponies to explore, while you were there, you never knew what the next day would bring... but as the time went on, the land started sprouting some weird things, dangerous things... Hostile animals that had no reason to befriend ponies and strange plants that would have undesired effects. The ponies started feeling uneasy and eventually started fearing the unknown... The land grew on it's own, so there was no telling what lurked behind the bushes... And just as the fear of the forest was at it's peak, the sun did not rise one day. Believing that this was the result of this strange land, the ponies had fled back to Equestria, telling every pony that the Everfree lands were ones to be feared and no pony should ever go there. Princess Everfree was heartbroken. Her beautiful land and her well-meaning wish turned for the worst... She did not want the land to become dangerous, but with a mind of it's own now, the land just kept doing as it wished, with the help of her magic... At a certain point the princess had wanted to leave her own land, in hopes that it will lose its own free will and everything would come back to normal once her magic wears off, but the land, that was now a great big lush, dangerous forest, refused to let the princess leave. Her magic had made the forest too strong for the princess to leave. It needed the princess's magic to be able to continue growing and evolving on it's own. The forest had imprisoned Princess Everfree deep underground, in the very center of the forest, her magic continuing to provide live and power to the lands above her. The Prison was shaped in such a way, that if the forest were to die, the prison would collapse on the princess itself, ending her life. Her plan for a perfect place where all races of ponies could live in perfect harmony, had backfired. There was no way for the princess to escape the prison, no way for her to be saved, no pony to save her. She had been trapped by her own creation. Having no other choice but to comply to the forests will, and resume giving the forest it's much needed magic... were she to refuse, she would die. The fear of death was what is keeping the Everfree forest alive and well to this very day. Princess Everfree had no way to escape, without ending her own life. The forest had drained her of her magic, almost to when she would die. Being an immortal Alicorn, She had no need for food like the normal ponies. Being so weak, the collapsing of the prison would be life threatening. There was nothing she could do to save her self. She was trapped. As the time passed by, the memory of the over looked princess faded, but the fear for the land she had created had stayed. The princess was forgotten, even by her own sisters. The ponies who loved her and were with her no matter what happened with the forest, were gone. They had long died before then. The forest had taken away the one thing that the un-loved princess deserved, Friendship and Family. Forgotten and left to her miserable fate, The Princess Everfree has become simply... never free... If one day, some pony, any pony is to reach the very center of the once beautiful Everfree forest, while under a full moon, you are still hear the sounds of her torture, the torture her own magic had placed upon her. You can hear her whisper, "Save me." The legend of Princess Everfree has been reborn! Long live the Princess Everfree!
SightingView OnlinePrincess EverfreeSightingTwo thousand years after the Everfree Forest was created. As the princess awoke, a whisper of hope was all that she had. "What is this thing? Could it be..." A voice of a Zebra could be heard as the princess started to wake up. "Princess!" She yelled. "W-who are you? H-how did you get here?" I spoke, unable to stand and look her in the eye. The forest grumbled, reminding me what would happen if I ever stopped providing my magic to the forest. "Zecora. We must get you out of here princess... You must rise to power along side your sisters and the newest princesses. I will do whatever it takes to get you out for it matters not how I arrived here... It has been far too long since Equestria has seen you, Princess Everfree." "P-please..." Feeling my magic being drained more quickly, my head fell to the floor. "I have..." I wheezed out, "very little power left to give to this life destroying forest. P-please, get Celestia, Luna. Any Princess... You have to..." The zebra, what was her name again? Oh yeah, Zecora, bowed at the base of my cage and nodded. "Yes, your majesty. I will do whatever it takes to free you from this prison. Just hold on." That was all that was said as the strange zebra left the underground prison room. "I must get out of here... I have to save my forest." I looked up at the ground above me and sighed. I felt a burst of magic enter me and I stood up. "Why is there so much fear? What is making the ponies of Equestria fear? Is it that the forest is alive? That the myth of Princess Everfree is true?" My horn stopped glowing. "No! I just... I can't die! Only I can sustain this forest with my magic, wait... why has the forest not killed me yet?" "Princess... You still give us life..." The Forest spoke to me. No... It can't be alive... It can't speak. NO! This can not happen.. "Over the years, you were the one who gave us life, although you still do..." A tendril of earth circled me as the forest above me spoke in the language lost for thousands of years. "You can't speak... You are not alive. You are my forest and I COMMAND YOU TO STOP!" The tendril immediately stopped circling me. "As you wish... My Princess..." The ground above me started to rumble as the forest above me stopped draining my magic. "The forest shall die, and so will you Princess. This is a final goodbye, or take this as a warning." My horn started glowing again and I slumped down to the ground. "I can not die.. Not when I am this close... I shall keep you alive, forest, and in return my life will be spared, Am I correct? I know I am." I smiled to myself and stood up, "I am the light that shines in darkness, and you are the darkness that can not comprehended it." "The darkness cries this fateful hour At the heart of Friendship’s power Stand those with spirits all agreed The chosen Elements of Harmony One is born to laugh and sing and smile Another holds fast to truth without guile One will give and love with all her heart One shows devotion when all falls apart And one is made of kinder, gentler stuff But to save all that is, five won’t be enough A circle long broken must be mended Then shall this present darkness be ended." Another voice spoke. "Celestia, sister? Is that you? P-please let that be you." I spoke, almost pleading to the mysterious voice. "Please..." "Princess Everfree... It has been far too long. Is this how the forest has survived all these years? Oh, Excuse me for being like this... Elements, I wish for you to lay your eyes upon the seventh and most deadly element. Sister... What has this forest done to you..?" "This is my forest. If you wish to save me, you must kill the forest and I will not let that happen. My creation, speak to your princess." I looked up at the earth above me and my horn continued to glow, brighter and brighter. "I gain power from fear, and my god am I powerful right now. Tonight the world dies, under the rule of the last remaining princess, a new world will be born from the ashes." "Sister... We wish not to harm your creation, We can make The Everfree forest a better place. Where ponies of all can enjoy it, where they can live in peace, a world you once created. This is the end of silence..." A jolt of magic shot through my body. "You have the power to destroy the princesses of Equestria and the Elements of Harmony, yet you are hesitating." "Perhaps she will listen to me..." A blue body materialized next to me. "Free? Its me, Luna. If the same filly I grew up with is still there, then please listen. You are more powerful than us, as you understand. You are not useless, the forest is making you do this. You thought you had control of it, but now it controls you. If you can hear me, please... please sister, break from its trance. I believe in you. We can make this a place where no pony has to fear your forest, this is not you. Sister..." All I saw was magic. I could see the whole of time and space, everything that has ever tried to defy my kingdom. The forest, realizing what I was going to do, tried to stop me. I could feel all the living creatures that hurt and made my ponies fear. "This is my forest! And I am your creator. You will OBEY!" Every creature, living or not that ever did anything to ruin my empire, to destroy what I had worked so hard to create vanished, into the void between worlds. I stopped proving my magic to the forest and the prision started to break above me. Reaching for all the power I had left, I teleported every pony that was in the under ground caverns to the surface, right outside the forest. Speaking with magic in my voice I spoke. "You are not what I created. You are not what I..." The world started to blur as all the magic I held left me. "You are not mine." The world faded to black. Author's Note What will happen? I guess you will have to wait to find out. Wow, this actually ended up better than I thought it would. Id like some feedback on this if its not too much to ask.. Thank you people.
Sadness, Memories, Smoke and Mirrors.View OnlinePrincess EverfreeSadness, Memories, Smoke and Mirrors.By: Chris S-V Ugh... My head... Everfree thought. A few moments passed and it all went black... One month later "Sister... Sister, what did she do to deserve this...?" Luna asked, crying. The Sun and Moon princesses stood in front of the empty mausoleum, saddened over their loss. “It is what would be best, dear sister.” Celestia said as they mourned over their lost sister. "B- but why?" Luna asked. "Because she decided it would be good if she created her own world, breaking the balance of ours." Celestia replied calmly. “It was not her fault, she did what she thought was best for the ponies of Equestria. She does not deserve this! Can’t we do anything? Anything to bring her back? Please...” Luna begged to her sister. "Luna, one never intends for bad things to happen, but it isn't what one intends to do, it's always what happens. I am sorry sister..." Celestia replied weakly. Celestia was cut off by a slap to her face. “Shut the buck up! We knew her! She was our sister for Faust’s sake!” Luna yelled, her anger rising. "Luna calm-!" "No! I will not be quiet! It isn't fair!" Luna screeched, galloping away. “Life isn't fair...” Was the last thing Luna heard as she left. "They left me here to die... Why would they do that..." Everfree mumbled to herself, wandering around in her own creation. Her sadness doubled, "Maybe they never really loved me... No, I have to stop thinking like that... Nothing good will come of it.” "Why would you ssstop, it'sss making usss ssstronger..." "W-what? W-who said that!?" She said whipping around. "Look up..." The mysterious voice cackled, causing the Princesses hair to prickle. She slowly turned her head skywards, looking deeper into the gloom, and she saw an ash grey, smokey looking serpentine creature, staring back. The only reason why she was still the is because the glowing red eyes trapped her, like how a snake freezes a bird before eating it. It smiled. Her eyes widened in fear as she started to back away from the creature. “W-what are you?” "That is an unnecessary detail..." The creature 'slithered' off of the branch and fell, only to transform into a crude replica of an alicorn pony. “A changeling... And here I thought those were the creatures found in myths.” "Oh believe me we are very much alive, we are just exceedingly rare. Our race was dying out before the Sun and Moon rose... So we adapted... We had to take possession of other creatures... We found out ponies were the easiest to control, but when we did possess a pony, we would become... 'Unpure'..." "Wh-what? You possess ponies!?" "Mmhmm... Do you object?" " Yes! I do!" " Well you won't..." With that spoken, the changeling then engulfed poor Princess Everfree in smoke, encircling her in itself. "N-no what are y-you doing? Stop!" She said shaking. “You won’t get away with this!” "Hehehe you put up quite a fight don't you? You will make a good queen..." The smoke started turning green and closing in, choking Everfree. "Q-queen!?" She exclaimed coughing. "Mmm... Now please be quiet, I'm almost done and I need to focus," the smoke confirmed. "Ahh there we go, now play nice." The smoke cleared, and she looked herself over. Her wings have turned into that of a fly, her hooves now being holed. Her skin turned black and started to harden, her horn had holes too, her beautiful mane gone and turned to fins on her neck. "W-what did you do? I look hideous!" She said, but the voice wasn't hers... "Why do I sound so strange!? What did you do!?" "Me...?" Said the creature innocently... From her mouth! "I made you a queen... Is that bad?" "Yes! This is wrong, very very wrong! I'm not a queen, I'm a princess!" She started to panic. "Now hush... It's alright, just relax..." The creature said in a soothing voice. "Okay..." Everfree complied... Starting to float away. "Now don't you think we should have a new name? Something new for your new body, hmm?" "Yes..." She felt lighter, happier. "But what should we be called? I can't think of anything..." She realized, although not caring. "Oh that's alright... Just let me do all the thinking and you can sleep. Oh I got it, how about 'Chrysalis'?" “Mmm, yes what a wonderful name... It’s perfect.” And Princess Everfree was no more.
