It was a beautiful spring afternoon. The young orange filly skidded her scooter down the catwalk of town. She dodged her way through traffic. She approached a steep hill, just leaving Ponyville. She paused at the peak of the hill, feeling the breeze through her purple mane. Breathing in the sweet pollen teeming air. She then bolted down the hill at top speed, feeling the rush and the thrill of the speed, the wind in her mane. When she reached the end of the hill she arrived at Cheerilee’s Elementary, as she did she skidded to a halt beside the building. The bell had already rang, she was terribly late for class. She put her scooter against a tree in the courtyard and ran inside.
“S-sorry I’m-”
“You’re tardy again Scootaloo” Cheerilee called from her desk.
“I’-I’m sorry, I won't do it again”
Cheerilee sighed.
“You say that every day.” She rubbed her forehead temples in frustration.
“I know I’m sorry...” Scootaloo looked down at the ground in shame. Cheerlee walked across the room over to her.
“Look around you, you didn’t even make it for a single lesson. School’s dismissed you know.”
“I know.. I just sort of slept in late.”
“Oh Scootaloo, I don’t see how you’re going to get a good education if you can’t even make it for a full day of school.” Scootaloo looked up at her dolefully.
“If theres anyway I can make up for todays work, I’d do it”
“Well then... Alright, I like that idea, meet me on Saturday, bright and early at 10 o'clock sharp.”
“Yes ma’am”
“Alright Scootaloo, off you go”
Scootaloo ran off and glanced back as she exited the building.
