*Snow Falls*
I trot through town, just to find any excuse to keep myself busy. I stay here in Ponyville because well.. its the only civilized place closest to where I previously lived, and if I’m honest, it has not really been the best experience of my life. Well... I can’t say it’s the worst either though. I was sort of forced here really. After what happened back home.. I shutter at the thought. I pass by a large group of ponies, my first instinct is hide. I squeeze myself between two buildings and hide out there for a while. I shiver as I bundled myself up in my old homemade scarf. I watch my breath as it softly forms small clouds each time I exhale, causing my glasses to fog up progressively each time I do. I curse at myself for hiding away again. I’m never going to find a job if I’m so afraid of everypony. I curse myself once more before cautiously descending into the open catwalk. Just when I think the coast is clear I get trampled over by somepony. I sit up and rub my head. I can feel heat rising over my face.
“Ow.” I hear a sarcastic whine.
“You should really watch where you’re going next time.” I adjust my glasses and look up to see the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. They were strong and soft, she was obviously a very determined pony, she seems like the type of pony who is strong hearted and willed, highly intelligent, but at the same time her eyes were mesmerizing, they were a deep royal purple, tinted with a dark almost blue.
“Hello, anypony in there?” She snaps me back to reality. I shake my head..
“I..I.. uh... sorry.” I stammer quickly before feeling my face grow hotter as I revert from making eye contact..
“Okay... just be a bit more careful next time...” I watch her as her horn glows a bright magenta, and the books that were scattered on the ground are picked up and placed neatly back into her saddlebag she was carrying.
“Y-you sure have a lot of books miss...” I then remembered I hadn’t even asked for her name, before I was able to ask her-
“Twilight Sparkle, and you are?” I look down at her, probably looking like an idiot, due to the fact that I’m taking so long just to remember my own stupid name.
“Uhh.. uh... my name is C-Cole...” She stares at me in confusion before asking the usual...
“Last name?”
“I don’t know...” She now looks at me as if I am Cerberus, and have three heads or something.
“Hmm.. She shifts her weight to the side and cocks her head over, having a thoughtful expression on her face for a moment or two. “Oh well” She looks up at me and smiles, so I smile shyly in return. I try and break the silence by striking up a casual conversation.
“So um... You sure have a lot of books there, are you going to donate them to the library?”
“No, actually these books are my assignments my teacher gave me, I just finished studying.”
“Really? You’re teacher must be really strict.”
“No, not at all, in fact, these are the assignments I asked her to give me”
“Really? You can handle it all?”
“Yeah it’s fine, by the way where do you live?” I look at her in shock, not because she was being blunt but more that usually no pony cared enough to ask.
“Um... well to be honest, I don’t exactly... have a home..” I admit.
“Oh.. I see..” She averts her eyes to the ground in sorrow. “I’d gladly help you out if I could... I’d ask you to stay with me but I don’t know if I have any room in the library for you to stay”
I look down morosely and sigh but then put on a week smile.
"Oh, that's quite alright...I'm used to..." I begin to say before the comely mare interrupts me.
"Although I think I know just the mare who can help you" She then smiles warmly up at me, my heart almost melts at this small cosmic moment, I then shake my head.
"Who is this mare?"
"Her name is Pinkie Pie, she is really social and energetic, i'm surprised you haven't met her yet. She might know a place you can stay at"
