The Canterlot Incident was only a test and the self-titled “Queen” Chrysalis merely a pawn in the Changeling Horde’s master plan for the Collection: the systematic brainwashing and enslavement of all ponykind as means to sate the hunger their kind has pent up for centuries. They have already infiltrated the Equestrian government, working their way as high as to gain seats on the Princesses’ Royal Council. Now the Horde stands ready to spring their trap, amassing soldiers along the Frontier Line, waiting only for the harbingers to complete their final deeds…
The only thing that stands in the Horde’s path for dominion is the harbingers themselves. The four ponies that comprise the Dark Horse Initiative were drafted for their Lunar Guard ancestry and trained as clandestine operators by the Royal Equestrian Army, were meant to be the catalysts for the end of their own kind without their knowledge, much less their consent. Armed with nothing more than the cryptic words of a so-called changeling ambassador uttered deep within one of the thousands of hives that lay dormant in anticipation of the Collection, the members of the DHI must now save Equestria from impending doom.
