Chapter 6

Inside a Nightmares mind

Far away at the peak of a mountain, Nightmare Blade and Crimson Bullet stood from their newly created castle watching the darkness spread. “Isn’t this much better than protecting their measly hides?” Crimson asked,

“I like this far more, but why does a simple pony help me? Granted you are powerful in your stone form, but why?” Nightmare Blade was curious and eager to find out as much as he could. Crimson proceeded to explain that not all nightmares had been totally destroyed, for he himself was one of them who had simply been bound to an unageing stone body with half my normal power.

“I knew the day when we would rise up and take over” Crimson sighed watching the darkness spread.

”So I am not the only one” Nightmare thought. He seemed fine, but if we look into his mind a completely different struggle is taking place.

Deep inside Nightmare Blades mind Sabers consciousness was fighting with a strange red/black spirit. “Leave my freaking head!!” Saber shouted, firing blast after blast at it, “Give me back my body!!” He tried and tried to eliminate the spirit.

“Heh heh heh, you can’t kill me” the spirit cackled, “I am a shadow heart, you seem to think otherwise”, Saber stepped back and looked down on the highly reflective surface of his mind.

“Then tell me this, what is going on” he asked. The spirit smirked and began to explain who it called its master’s plans, and that was exactly what Saber wanted.

Back in ponyville Celestia and Twilight had just finished recovering and were back on their hooves. “Ok, here is the plan” Twilight began, “Celestia is going to head back to Canterlot to get the elements and bring them to the entrance of everfree. Next I want Rarity and Fluttershy to get trained in medical procedures and to gather medical gear, for the fight ahead we are going to need it. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, you’re on provisions duty, we don’t want to starve out there.”

“What about me?” Rainbow interrupted,

“I want you to locate where Saber and the stone alicorn are, start by looking through everfree and if you can’t see them look in the nearby areas, my guess is that they are in an area that we will be least likely to survive in, I will research the nightmares, if we plan on fighting one we will need to know as much about them as we can, because of this I will also be going to Canterlot to use the archives.” Twilight finished up with her plan.

“I will also permit Twilight to use any spells that she can find in the archives” Celestia added, “We will need all the power we can get. I will also notify Luna.” And with that they all headed out to complete their task.
