A Letter To The Princess

Dear Princess Luna,

It feels odd not to write Celestia's name at the top of a letter like this, but Celestia would have nothing to say in this situation I expect.

I don't know if Celestia told you or if you noticed on one of your frequent visits to Ponyville but I have been seeing Applejack lately- as more than a friend.

Our relationship is thriving and I believe, after lots of extensive research, that I may love her a lot. I like to believe she loves me to.

There's something holding me back, though.

The reason, you may be surprised to learn, is you.

So now you see why I am writing this letter to you. Celestia just would not understand the extent of this situation quite like you will.

Let me elaborate.

Every time you come down to Ponyville and come visit Sweet Apple Acres, I see Applejack staring at you.

This doesn't seem to be a problem if you leave it at that. What troubles me is the way she looks at you as you smile and laugh together.

Fondly.

Applejack looks at you with a fondness that was previously reserved for a late-sprouting apple tree that produced a good crop, for me if I'm lucky nowadays, and apparantly it's now for you.

Even you can see why this bothers me. My marefriend is openly admiring another mare. I suppose I would feel a tiny bit better if Applejack actually talked to me about it- considering she's the element of honesty she's doing an awfully good job of hiding her growing attraction for you.

Another contributing factor is that sometimes you stare back when you think no one's looking, with a love in your eyes similar to when Rarity looks at Rainbow Dash when she thinks no one's looking.

Don't try to deny it, Princess. As you can see, I notice these things.

So please, do something about it before I have to- because I don't want to. I love Applejack, and so do you. And she loves you. Not me, you.

I give her up. You can have her- you deserve her , and she deserves you. Take her quick; I know plenty of others who wouldn't mind having her, myself included. You're extremely lucky.
