- Chapter 4 -
"The mare in the woods"

Twilight asked how the humans could live in a place like that, and James tells her what humans have been doing that for a long time, adapting to the environment. Evolution and adaptation made the humans who they are today, they have used their intellect, their thumbs and beat the natural predators until finally the humans was above the food chain.

True, the Everfree forest has its dangers, so Twilight gave him a book about the forest's dangers. Cockatrice, manticores, timberwolves, and hydras to name a few. But what the big forest didn't have, back home you could run into bears, wolves, snakes, wild cats and so on out in the wild.

He stopped thinking back to that event. He was now at the edge to the forest, having walked through Ponyville lost in though. He looked at the entrance, into this un-natural forest, he shrugged and entered the forest and followed the path that would lead to Zecora's place. Twilight also warned him about not touching a blue kind of flower named poison joke, she didn't know what it could do to him, and he didn't want to find out so he kept his distance from any blue flower he saw, he some some hints and patches of those flowers near the path and further into the forest.

He soon made it to the zebra mare's hut, he knocked on her door to announce his presence.
He heard somepony move inside and not before long the door opened and Zecora was seen standing in the doorway. She was mentioned before a different kind of pony, a zebra. James could not help but look over her grey and darker grey striped nice toned body. She had also had on her big golden earrings and also golden rings around her neck and one hoof , it reminded James how some African people looked back on his world. She also seems to have the same general body type as most ponies, but her backside was a little bigger he noticed with a quick glance. She raised an eyebrow and starting to talk in rhyme.

She turned around and James followed her inside the hut. Well inside he could see some wooden masks with looked like voodoo masks hanging from the walls around the hut, lasks and herbs were also hanging from the ceiling or on the shelves around the hut, a big black cauldron was seen in the middle on the room. She headed for a table with many herbs and such at the end of the room, she then started to grab flowers and other thinks. She then trotted up to the cauldron and started to dump the things she have gathered into the cauldron.

"You must be tired from the walk, sit and relax and later we can talk."

She told James as she took hold of a long spoon and started to stir inside the cauldron. James found a spot near the wall near the cauldron and behind Zecora, he walked to that spot and sat down, breathing of a sigh of relief, resting his feet.

After a while and nothing better to do he started to ask Zecora about herself and other questions, things like what she was doing hear in the middle of this supposed scary forest. She told him a little about herself and that she lived in this forest because she was closer to the ingredients she would need to make her potions, and she like the peace and quite here than in ponyville, felt that it was to many ponies and she felt that she have some trouble fitting in, being a zebra and all.

She asked a little about that the rumours she have heard about him and Babs, if some if not all where true. James blushed at that and told her that yes he and Babs where colt and marefriend so to speak. He wondered about some of the other rumours that she have heard and asked her about that.

"One is that you like them very young, and that that was a reason you choose the young filly Babs Seed to be your one."

"What is it? I didn't get a chance to ask or even check what was on that note."

On his way home he noticed something different with Ponyville. A giant glass dome was seen covering the whole village. He stoped to look at the odd sight, wondering what that was about. He wondered what that was about but thought it was something to do with Twilight and her friends and was sure they could fix it.

He shrugged and continued towards his home. He could feel his balls tingeling again. Trying not to think so much about that he walk on.
