The Corporation is a company notorious for there hostile actions against any unknown military force, especially the Resistance. The Resistance is a rebellious organization that strives to conquer the Corporation and the City Police. The City Police are the guardians of the few pockets of inhabitable cities that remain on earth. As much as they hate it, they also work with the Corporation. Everywhere else outside the cities is known simply as the Contaminated Area, the result of countless decades of merciless warfare that completely annihilated most of the Earth's surface.

Chief is one of the best AC pilots to ever exist. As much as he knows how to win every battle he's been in, he isn't exactly the kind of solider to take things… seriously. After being killed two times prior, can a lifetime soldier like Chief thrive in a world where warfare is all but a fantasy, while he has the most powerful AC-like weapon on his world with him? But wait, is Chief really here to learn the magic of friendship? No. Making new friends couldn't be further from the truth. He's here because he's what he is.
