Chapter 1 : Summer Sun Celebration
The Summer Sun Celebration is an event that is held once every year, on the longest day of the year, to celebrate the glory of the sun, and Celestia. This year, the Crystal Empire had been chosen to host it. This was a perfect event for the crystal empire, as they had yet to have the honor of hosting the prestigious event. The leader of the Crystal Empire, King Sombra, welcomed both Celestia and Luna as they walked through the gates of the Empire. The first thing they saw was the Crystal Heart shining in its place, radiating with a warm, gentle light. Little did the two royal sisters know, but King Sombra was planning something that would change both of their lives.
That night, as Celestia made her preparations for the dawn, she couldn't find Luna, for the younger sister was needed to lower her moon. Luna, however, had been called aside by Sombra. He asked questions about the two sister’s routine in Canterlot, what they went through on a day to day basis. Luna quickly suspected that Sombra was trying to get information on Celestia, and kept her silence. King Sombra wasn't happy with Princess Luna’s lack of forthcoming information, and so, before he departed down the halls of the palace, he offered the Moon Princess power, an unstoppable army, her own empire and love and worship from all her citizens.
“Do not answer now,” said Sombra, “Think about it for a while, and if you are still interested, come and see me later, dear Princess,”
Luna was secretly intrigued by the offer, having experienced a degree of rejection by the ponies of Equestria, who prefered her sister’s day over her nights, but she did not show her interest, instead simply making her way towards the balcony of the palace where Celestia was pacing, waiting on her younger sister to lower the moon. As Luna walked onto the platform, Celestia confronted her sister.
"Were where you, sister? I was worried that you had perhaps fallen ill, and that I would have to pass the moon myself," said Celestia. Luna didn't reply immediately, instead lighting her horn, and beginning the process of lowering the moon. As Luna passed the moon to make way for Celestia to raise the sun, Celestia spoke to Luna, saying, "You should tell me if you're going to disappear, Luna."
"I'm sorry, sister, I should have told you," replied Luna, and Celestia raised the sun, and below them, all of the crystal empire cheered as the sun lifted over the horizon. As the ponies rejoiced, and Celestia presided of the celebration, a young colt approached Luna and whispered to the younger Princess, "Meet King Sombra around the train station,"
"What is your name young colt?" relpied Luna, but before she could get an answer, the colt ran off, leaving Princess Luna alone.
Luna told her older sister that she'll be heading back to Canterlot, but Celestia insisted that she should stay untill it is time to go, "I should go and lookover Canterlot for if anything bad happens i can help," replied Luna.
"Alright then sister I'll see you soon, Take care" said Celestia, as Luna headed for the train station she started to think if she should accept Sombra's offer. Luna arrived at the train station but sombra was nowhere to be found, Luna found a note on the seats next to the enterance gate, Luna reads the note that was signed Sombra on the front, it read.
"My dear Luna, as King of the Crystal Empire my duty is to watch over and care for its ponys, but soon you may hear bad things, some of which will be true some maybe not but know this. I will not be liked by many after the events that will happen, think carefully on you decision, Sombra."
After reading the note Luna destroyed it so nopony can find out what the two have been talking about, Luna retuned to Canterlot and did what she told her older sister, just as it was time to raise the moon Celestia returned to the castle in Canterlot. Celestia passed the sun, and Luna raised the moon.
