//-------------------------------------------------------// The Alicorn Swear -by Lance Skyes- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Alicorn Swear //-------------------------------------------------------// The Alicorn Swear The Cutie Mark Crusaders galloped excitedly towards Twilight’s library, where they hoped to get her permission to visit that strange place she went to a few weeks ago. From what they heard, it was called ‘Earth’ and it was inhabited by all these creatures who looked like ponies they knew from Ponyville, but looked nothing like ponies at all. They really wanted to see it with their own eyes, though. “Are you sure she’ll let us go?” Scootaloo asked Applebloom. “I’m pretty sure she will,” Applebloom replied. “It’s not like there’s anything for us to mess up there.” “Try telling that to Rarity,” Sweetie Belle said sarcastically. “I can’t even draw without getting in trouble.” “You did use up all her special jewels in that drawing,” Scootaloo commented. “That’s not the point! I-” “Girls!” Applebloom shouted, coming to a stop. “Odds are she won’t even consider letting us go if we’re bickering and showing a poor attitude.” “Applebloom’s right,” Sweetie Belle said. “If we’re going anywhere, we’re going to have to get along for once.” “Fine,” Scootaloo said. “But Rarity still had reason to get angry at you.” Sweetie Belle was about to start the argument again, but Applebloom’s glare silenced her. “C’mon,” the farm filly said. “We’re almost there.” The three fillies then started again for the library, only at a grinding trot rather than an excited gallop. Meanwhile, Twilight was at the library, reading through a book she had never read until now because it was one of the ones on the top row that Spike’s ladder could never reach. Her new wings had some practical uses. “My, my,” she said to herself while reading the book. “This has to be the second most interesting thing I’ve ever read from a book. This spell has to be beyond the skill of even Starswirl the Bearded...” She continued reading for a little while before the door behind her flew open with the three fillies standing on the other side. “HI TWILIGHT!” the three shouted in unison, startling the alicorn so much, she actually fell out of her chair. (Thanks for the new sitting technique, Lyra, but I think I’ll go back the traditional way of sitting. It’s more... stable.) “Girls,” Twilight said, getting up, “what in Equestria are you doing here?” “We wanted to ask you something, Twilight,” Scootaloo said. “Is there any chance we could come with you on your next trip to the Crystal Empire and visit that new world you found beyond that magic mirror?” “Absolutely not,” Twilight said. “It’s incredibly dangerous, especially for little fillies.” “Are you sure?” Sweetie Belle asked, putting on her best kawaii face. Twilight just shook her head, causing the fillies to hang their heads in disappointment. Just then, Sweetie Belle noticed the new book on the table. “Hay, Twilight, what’s in that book? I’ve never seen it in here before.” “This?” Twilight asked, levitating the book in front of the fillies. “This is a new book I recently found on the top shelf.” She flapped her wings a little when she said this as though to silently thank them for the seventh time. “It contains spells that are far beyond the magic of even the great unicorn Starswirl the Bearded. I was just reading this one spell called ‘The Alicorn Swear.’ It’s probably the most powerful one in this whole book.” All three of the fillies’ eyes widened when they heard Twilight say that last sentence. “What does it do?” Sweetie Belle asked. “I’m not sure, actually.” Twilight took a second to read the spell again. “It says here that it can be cast on groups of ponies.” Suddenly, an evil smile that just shouted ‘one-way express ticket to an insane asylum’ crept across Twilight’s face. “Do you little fillies want a chance to get your cutie marks as test subjects?” The three stopped listening after Twilight said ‘cutie marks’ and excitedly nodded their heads. “Good. Just stand right there and I’ll do the rest. Actually, can you stand over there in the back of the room in case the spell flies out the door and into the town.” Not breaking their smiles, the three sidestepped all the way around the room to the back. “Fire when ready, Twilight,” Applebloom said. “Wait, what did volunteer for, again?” Scootaloo asked. “Here goes the spell,” Twilight said. She then took a deep breath and read the spell right from the book while casting it on the fillies. ”Your mother is a... *cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored** gives a flying feather... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored...”* As Twilight was saying this, Sweetie Belle’s mouth was wide open in shock and horror at what her friend was saying. ”...buck... *cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored** ...the almighty flank of Princess Celestia... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored...”* At this point, Applebloom had wadded up her bow and started biting down hard on it to try to escape the pain of Twilight’s spell. ”...Sunset Shimmer... *cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored** the Gates of Tartarus... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored...”* Scootaloo was in so much pain, she actually started biting her scooter. ”...in a land far beyond the Everfree Forest where the only collective intention of every single creature there is to... *cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored** *insert Slender jumpscare here* cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored Peeeeeeeeeeewdiepie... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored...”* At this point, the three fillies were struggling to stay conscious. Actually, they would have let themselves fall into painless unconsciousness if the spell hadn’t kept them from doing so. ”...giving a flying feather... *cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored** Gak, arrow to the knee, and grumpy cat will all... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored Princess and Principal Celestia getting together and... cencored cencored cencored soup... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored flying feather... cencored the Doctor... cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored *insert another Slender jumpscare here* cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored cencored censored censored censored censored with a parasprite on Tuesday!”* After finishing the spell, Twilight placed the book back on the table and exhaled loudly. “That wasn’t so bad. How’d it go, girls?” Twilight looked over to find three craters in the middle of which each of the Crusaders lay. “Oh my gosh! Are you three okay?” The three fillies slowly crawled out of their respective craters, groaning in pain. “Oh, that hurt so much,” Sweetie Belle said. “I think I got a glimpse of the afterlife,” Scootaloo said, lying on her back and staring up at the ceiling. “Did there have to be Slender jumpscares?” Applebloom asked, struggling to crawl up to Twilight. “They reminded me of that bad fanfic agent_cupcakes wrote that the three of us were in that one time. Wait a second...” Applebloom quickly shook off the pain and looked at her flank. “Did I get my cutie mark as a test subject?” Blank. “Same here,” Sweetie Belle said. “I can’t believe we did that for nothing,” Scootaloo added. “You didn’t do it for nothing,” Twilight said with a smile. “The three of you helped me with a scientific breakthrough. Imagine the possibilities of this spell. Why, Canterlot wouldn’t even need a Royal Guard and Equestria wouldn’t even need the Elements of Harmony with how powerful this spell is. Aren’t you girls as excited as I am?” The three fillies just stared at Twilight with angry expressions. About an hour later, the three fillies trotted happily out of the library. “Thanks for everything, Twilight,” Applebloom called. “See ya soon!” Twilight tried to respond, but she was badly beaten, her hooves and wings bound tightly, and she was gagged with at least four gags. “Hang on, girls,” Scootaloo said as the three were about to leave the building. The flightless pegasus trotted back into the library, picked up the book that contained the Alicorn Swear spell, and carried it out of the library. “This is going in the lake.” The three fillies giggled and began trotting towards the lake. “Hay,” Sweetie Belle said. “While we’re at the lake, we should try to get our cutie marks in fishing.” “Sounds like a good idea,” Applebloom said. The three fillies then happily trotted off towards the lake, giggling amongst themselves at Sweetie Belle’s idea. //-------------------------------------------------------// BONUS: MLPR Sneak Peak #2 //-------------------------------------------------------// BONUS: MLPR Sneak Peak #2 (This sneak peak is of a scene later in season 2, My Little Pony Rangers: Morphin’ is Magic. There may not be as much confusion as the first sneak peak, but this one is still in the middle of a chapter in the middle of the story, so confusion is possible. Also, there will be spoilers, as well. Enjoy.) Rainbow Dash and the other four Rangers collapsed onto the ground in the middle of the computer room in Canterlot, all five of them badly beaten. Twilight, Celestia, Luna, and Spike ran over as fast as they could to check on the Rangers. “Are you five okay?” Twilight asked. Rainbow Dash got up slowly and massaged her wing. “I think we’re fine,” she said. “Those new Super Putties Discord has are real trouble.” “And Derpy and the Chaos Pony Rangers don’t make the situation any better,” Applejack added. “I think Discord actually has us in checkmate this time,” Rarity said, doing her best to fix her ruined mane. “Now don’t say that,” Spike said, helping Fluttershy up. “You were just caught off-guard, that’s all.” “You weren’t there, Spike,” Rainbow Dash said. “Even our weapons were useless against those things. They’re invincible.” “They aren’t invincible,” Celestia said. “There is one power you can use.” “Sister!” Luna said. “You aren’t seriously considering telling them about what I think you’re about to tell them about, are you?” “I’m afraid I am.” Celestia then turned to Twilight. “Remember a few weeks ago after your first battle against Discord when I told you that you may never morph again?” “I do remember, Princess,” Twilight sadly replied. “You told me that my career as a Pony Ranger was over.” Celestia trotted over and placed her hoof on Twilight’s shoulder. “I said your career as the Green Ranger was over. As well, I only said you may never morph again. That didn’t mean you’re done as a Ranger.” Celestia then looked over at the other Rangers, who were all in poor shape from the battle with the Super Putties. “Sister, you and Spike stay here and give the Rangers medical attention. Twilight, I want you to come with me.” Celestia then began walking off, Twilight following, but not knowing why. “Wait!” Rainbow Dash said, galloping over to Twilight and Celestia. “Where are you two going?” Celestia sighed before answering Rainbow Dash. “The Elements of Harmony have been incomplete for the past year you five have been Rangers. That’s all I can tell you right now. You need medical attention.” “Hold on, Princess,” Twilight said. “Rainbow Dash of all ponies deserves to know what’s going on.” She then turned to Rainbow Dash and smiled. “Besides, she can take one more hit than anypony else I’ve ever seen. She’ll be alright.” “Thanks, Twilight,” Rainbow Dash said, trotting over and hoof-bumping (brohoofing) Twilight. “Very well,” Celestia said. “You may both come with me.” The three then began walking out of the computer room and through a long hallway with a library at the end of it. “Where are we going, Princess?” Twilight asked as Celestia opened the door to the library. “Scratch that. What are we doing at the Royal Library?” “There’s one simple answer to that, Twilight Sparkle,” Celestia replied, walking into the library and not turning to see if the other two ponies were following. However, Celestia didn’t continue and instead began looking for a particular book. “And what is that ‘simple answer’?” Rainbow Dash asked as Celestia finally pulled a book out. The design on the cover of the book looked like the five Elements of Harmony in a circle with a sixth one standing on a pedestal in the center. “Twilight,” Celestia started, “you have done many extraordinary things in your life. You’ve even done things that I never would have even expected you to do. You are closer than ever to your true destiny, but it’s time you took the next giant leap you must take.” Celestia led the two ponies to the center table and placed the book down in the middle. “Twilight Sparkle... it’s time you discovered the real sixth Element of Harmony.” “But I thought the Element of Thunder was the sixth Element of Harmony,” Rainbow Dash said. “No. Thunder is an Element of Discord, and the complete opposite of Twilight’s natural Element, Magic.” “Magic?” Twilight asked. “Yes,” Celestia replied, opening the book and flipping through the pages while the other two looked on. “In the battle against Discord fifteen centuries ago, Luna and I were only able to use the first five Elements, and we quickly learned that they were no match for Discord’s power. With this in mind, the two of us combined our alicorn powers as well as the energy from the first five Elements to create a sixth Element to strengthen the other five as well as stand out on its own as far as power. The Element of pure Magic. Using all six of the Elements of Harmony, Luna and I were able to defeat Discord and seal him in stone.” “That’s amazing, Princess,” Twilight said. “Luna and I quickly found that the seal would not last forever, however, because the Elements of Harmony were not at their full power. To this end, we were forced to seek a... different source of energy for the seal.” “The miasma,” Rainbow Dash said. “That’s why it was only a couple of weeks after the defeat of Nightmare Moon that Discord returned.” “You are correct, Rainbow Dash.” Celestia then turned to Twilight. “Now it is up to you, Twilight, to wield the Element of Magic, strengthen the power of the Elements of Harmony, and become a Pony Ranger once again.” “You can count on me, Princess,” Twilight said. “Where is the Element of Magic?” “Hidden away in a secret and dangerous location deep within the Everfree Forest. I’m sorry to say that there’s no way you’ll get to it without help.” “I can help her,” Rainbow Dash quickly offered. “Really?” Twilight asked. “Yeah. Besides, agent_cupcakes hasn’t really written a TwiDash fic yet, and that’s like a right of passage for FiMfic writers, so part of a single chapter of one of his stories would work just fine.” “Then it’s up to the two of you to locate the Element of Magic and stop Discord’s Super Putties before they destroy Equestria,” Celestia said. She then trotted to another area in the library and used her magic to pull out a map. “This map will lead you directly to where the sixth Element is located. And remember something, Twilight. Rainbow Dash is there to help protect you and get to where you need to be, but it is only together that you will succeed.” “You can count on us, Princess,” Rainbow Dash said. “We won’t let you down,” Twilight said, taking the map. “Let’s get going, Dash.” Rainbow Dash nodded and the two began galloping off towards the computer room to inform the others of the mission. Right as Dash finished explaining everything, however, an alarm went off. Spike rushed over to the console to check. “It’s Discord’s Super Putties again,” he shouted. “What are we going to do now, Rainbow Dash?” Fluttershy asked. Rainbow Dash thought long and hard about this question before trotting over to the shy pegasus, pulling out her Element of Harmony, and giving it to Fluttershy. “I don’t understand.” “I’m counting on you to lead the team into battle, Fluttershy,” Rainbow Dash replied. “With my Element of Harmony, you can summon the Harmony Sword and summon the Tyrannozord without me should the need arise. Twilight and I need you to stall for as much time as possible.” Fluttershy took a deep breath and sighed before giving her answer. “It would be my honor,” she finally said, taking Rainbow Dash’s Element. “I won’t let you down.” “Good luck, Rangers,” Twilight said, teleporting the other four Rangers to Ponyville. “We should get started, too, Rainbow Dash.” “Best of luck to you two,” Luna said. “Thanks, Princess Luna,” Twilight said. She then cast her teleportation spell, teleporting her and Rainbow Dash to the edge of the Everfree Forest. (Okay, that wraps up this MLPR sneak peak. You won’t have to wait too long to see the whole of this chapter, though, because this chapter is set to be close to the beginning of season two. [Chapter five or six, probably. {Or maybe later like seven or eight. It’s impossible to tell at this point. I’ll just have to see how much filler is needed between certain milestones in the story arc.}] Anyway, I look forward to writing the rest of this chapter for y’all. [I’m not an Applejack fan, I’m a Texan.])
