The Beginning of the End

Upon leaving the Human world and returning home to Equestria Princess Twilight sparkle was immediately greeted with cheers as her eager friend gathered around her with both excitement and curiosity.

After reuniting with all of her friends, and entertaining them with stories of the strange world where ponies are referred to as people and walk on two legs everywhere, her first concern was to sleep in her own bed again, but thoughts of the friends she had made in the human world had been ever present in the back of her mind thinking about, and missing them more and more until one day she left for good, saying she was needed more there.

The seemingly omnipotent Celestia was stricken with sever depression at the loss of her number one student, and best friend, Celestia was forced to step down as high Queen of Equestria. The vengeful Princess Luna saw this as an opportunity to finally release all of the hatred, and anger she had felt toward her sister and all of Equestria, and she took her sisters place as High Queen forcing the ponies of Equestria to live in darkness over the next 100 years the ponies of Equstria slowly evolved into Creatures of the night, barely surviving under the iron hoof of the newly dubbed Shadow Queen Luna.

All but a handful of rebels who had been blessed by the elements of harmony there magic was so powerful that they had an effect on everypony in ponyville leaving the small town untouched by the Shadow Queens influence, but they missed their beloved sun, and led by General Pinkie Pie they stormed Cantorlot, the ensuing battle was fierce with several of the harmony necklaces being destroyed by the Shadow Queen herself before she was finally defeated by an unexplainable blast of raw magic energy shot by discord who had been locked away in stone, but using the elements with only five bearers had caused a delay in the the unsealing. Many lives were lost.

However these brave Ponies and Stallions did not die in vain, for with there deaths a New Queen was crowned Queen Pinkie Pie had ended the Monarchy of the Alicorns! There was relative peace for the next few years as the ponies learned how to control the sun and moon, apparently the sun and moon did not truly rise, but were instead stuck in the gravitational pull of the earth, the alicorns would use the earths natural spinning motion as a lever to pull the sun out of earths gravitational range in theory any unicorn could do it, but putting the practice to use took a skilled team of 50 unicorns, but they were soon able to cut this number in half do to the rapid growth in the strength of the unicorns put up to the task. There were still spells that could only be cast by an alicorn do to them requiring the ability of true flight, and with the loss of this powerful magic Several of Equestrias oldest and most powerful villains escaped from the Hellish Prison in which they were caged, most were dealt with by the Hermit Fluttershy, and her Personal attack dog Discord. During a particularly harsh battle which required discord to take his attention away from the shield he had formed to keep Fluttershy safe, she was struck by a stray beam of magic badly wounded. After seeing his friends blood spill Discord was sent into a frenzy turning anything and everything into various chaotic figures. After reducing the battlefield into nothing more than a giant mess of cotton candy, and chocolate milk the grief stricken discord took the wounded body of Fluttershy back to Canterlot, they did everything they could, but alas there was no hope, discord then left without a word, and a mournful look in his eye, the loss of not only his best friend, but the only pony to ever give him a chance was too much for him, and he couldn't contain his chaotic powers, some say Discord released his physical form as to ensure that he would never be bothered again, many ponies were unaware of Discords past, so they were unsure as to why this god-like being cared for this shy little Pegasus so much, but his pain was felt by all of Equestria.

Although the Queen and her 3 Generals were hit harder than most by the loss of Their oldest friend, they knew that if they were to show weakness now, they would be inviting the remaining Monsters to attack, and although they had the strength to fend off these monsters an all out war would cost many more lives, and with the queens age finally catching up with her, and the loss of one of her dearest friends anymore deaths could driver her over the edge, she sent her General Thunder Dash (rainbows great grandson) to the city of Cloudsdale to once again request assistance, after the fall of the Alicorn Monarchy Cloudsdale had declared itself independent refusing to be ruled by a lowly earth pony, A small band of Pegasus led by Rainbow Dash stayed behind to help the rebellions crusade, her cutie mark was worn on the soldiers uniforms, this same mark was now used to distinguish traitors in Cloudsdale, but young Thunder wore it with pride knowing that if not for his Great Grandmother and her team that many more lives would have been loss during the taking of Canterlot.

As he landed on a cloud Thunder was immediately greeted by a brightly colored beam leaving a smoldering hole next to him. "you have a lot of nerve coming here wearing that mark!" a strong but feminine voice shouted from above.
"About as much as Cloudsdale had to turn tail and run at the first sign of trouble" this response earned thunder a swift kick in the jaw from the Bright orange Pegasus wearing what vaguely resembled a worn out wonder bolt uniform.
as he was returning to his feet he added "or enough to turn your back on a place that you're family died protecting" he said spitting out blood, this caused the bright orange Pegasus to shake with what at first seemed like anger, but was upon closer reflection pain. "I wanted to know what it was like is that so wrong?!" she said with a tear, but without losing the strength in her voice.
"It is when you leave behind everything our ancestors fought for to find out" thunder said in anger, but later regretted his words as he could see that the Pegasus was hurting.
"You know that WonderBolt Jacket looks good on you, a lot like your grandma" he said in an encouraging tone.
"You always were a big softy you know that" she said with a soft chuckle
"What can I say I'm a sucker for a cute smile, but you know that don't you torchy" he said with a devious grin
The Pegasus's face turned bright red as she delivered another kick, but this time to the ribs "I told you never to call me that!!" she said with the arrogance coming back to her voice.
"why are you even here we refused to help the last time you came why would we change our minds now?"
"Because I'm an old friend and you're gonna get me an audiences with the king" he said with a pleading grin
"NO! I could never do that!" she said while looking at his pleading face
"Fine! I can take you as far as the gate and get you past the defenses, but after that you're on your own!"
"I knew I could count on you Tor-uhg-" he said as he got a hoof in the gut.
