Ch. 2 A Princess a Mirror and a Lesson
I couldn't believe my eyes. How was i here? Was i dreaming?
"Lets get into it shall we?" Celestia asked. "First off, you can't look like you do," she pointed at my black night shirt, "What is your favorite color?" she continued. I might as well play along, this was the craziest thing I've ever been through. I thought hard, what if this was just a dream, yes a dream, thats the only logical explanation to this nonsense. I looked at her and said,
"Uhm, white?" I answered hesitantly. The alicorn smiled. With a large movement she touched her horn to my forehead, i felt warm, my heart sank and in a matter of moments i felt as though i drank pure sugar water. It was a nice feeling. However as soon as it happened it turned awry. I felt sick and nauseous. My eye sight blurred and i felt like i was about to pass out.
"These feelings are temporary, you will remain like this until i change you back," Celestia explained.
"Change me back!? What am i?" I screamed as i looked down at my hands. The only thing was, they weren't hands anymore, they were large white hooves. I freaked out. I tried to run out of the large throne room, but my feet or hooves, tangled into each other, and I fell flat on my face. The Princess laughed. She gently lifted my head up with her golden hoof. I looked into her eyes as she grinned.
"Be at ease young colt, this is not forever," her grin turned into a smile.
I lifted my body, Celestia pointed to a mirror placed in the corner of the room. I looked down at my four legs. Cant be as hard as crawling, I thought. I placed one hoof forward and the opposite hind leg forward as well. Within seconds i reached the mirror without any face plants.
I looked at the mirror, i saw a horse in the reflection. "This isn't me," i stated with confusion, "it can't be,"
"Its you, i only changed your look to match us. You cant run around here looking like a human," Celestia grinned.
"Is everyone here a horse?" I asked in surprise.
"EveryPONY is a PONY, yes. Don't let that discourage you though, we act as civil as your world. Perhaps a little more civil," she stated with an eye roll as she turned, "Follow me,"
I gained enough experience to walk normally in this strange new body. It felt normal to me, like i had lived in it forever. The nausea finally subsided and i followed the princess as she ordered. We both walked out side on a large balcony railed with elegant crystal posts and beams. Below were many buildings and ant sized ponies going about there day not knowing that there was another world out there, the one i called home.
"This is the city of Canterlot. Do not feel threatened by its size," she pointed to a large white and gold telescope that stood on a sturdy mount. I walked up to it and looked in. Inside the lens i saw a small town with pink and brown buildings.
" Im guessing thats Ponyville?" I asked still looking in the lens.
"Yes, very good. That is the town you will be staying in while you learn about friendship," i looked at her in shock, "in order for you to return home, you must learn the power of friendship," she continued. Yuk i thought. Five minutes in this new world and I'm already getting first grade girly lessons.
"So you want me to make some friends? That'll take like ten minutes," i rolled my eyes.
"Perhaps, but you must also earn your cutiemark," she answered flaring her wings up and pointing her muzzle at the beautiful sun marked on the side of her flank. "A cutiemark is earned when you figure out what your destiny is,"
"Theres always a catch," i mumbled under my breath.
"What was that?" She asked rhetorically.
"Nothing," i lied. The princess grinned again.
We both walked out of the throne room and out to a large platform that had a golden carriage in the center. The carriage was attached to two large steeds dressed in armor.
"This will take you to Ponyville, these steeds are very good fliers so don't be afraid.
"Thats it?" I asked in surprise.
"For now, Frost Heart," she replied. Frost Heart?
"Uhm, who's Frost Heart?" I asked looking at the two steeds.
"You don't expect to be called Tyler, do you?"
"Yeess, thats my name!"
"If you are to live here you must have a name based on our culture,"
"Why Frost Heart then?" the princess smiled and nodded the at the armored steeds. With a violent jerk, we were in the air. I tried to call out to Celestia, but we were too far away. I turned and sat right in the carriage.
The next stop was Ponyville, and who knows whats going on there. The thought made me shiver, this was the place where my sisters show took place. Where girl ponies would do girly things and learned kindergarten morals.
Boy was i wrong.
Ch. 3 A library and a Problem
The carriage slowly eased down from the sky. I had arrived in Ponyville. I couldn't believe my eyes, all the streets were completely full of ponies, both boy and girl. From what I could tell. This friend thing is going to be easier than I thought.
When the carriage was finally at a full stop and safely on the ground, I jumped out and walked up to the two steeds that had brought me to my destination. "Thanks for the ride I guess," the two horses looked at each other then nodded and neighed as if to say "Your welcome".
"Do any of you know where I sho-" I turned to face them but the two steeds were already too far out to here me. I looked at my surroundings, the busy streets teaming with ponies and other wild animals such as chickens made me gulp involuntarily. "Yeah, easy,"
As I walked through the streets of Ponyville, my view on the whole "girl show" thing changed drastically. This place was no different from my world, heck no different than my own city. Ponies would talk to each other loudly and every once in a while I got my own "Hey, I'm walkin here!" shouted in my face. I started to walk much faster. I had to get to a calm part of the town. Somewhere I could actually breathe.
Soon I had arrived at a large tree with a door leading inside of it. Was this place a house? If so was it for like squirrels or something? I thought harder and remembered from my sisters show that this was where one of the main characters lived. Ok, perfect, I can talk to her about this mess, make a friend and ask what a cutiemark is.
I turned the knob on the door and walked inside. It was calm and the sudden quite from the outside made me think that trees are sound proof. There were books all around the large room. Some were small and skinny but most were the size of dictionaries. The smell of the library, that's what I'm saying this place is, was absolutely mesmerizing. It smelled of lavender.
"Hello?" I asked at the air. No answer. I looked to my right and saw a set of stairs leading to a new part of the tree-library. I hesitated for a few seconds and then headed up the curled stair case.
The room was much messier than down stairs. There were books of all sizes scattered around, some still open, and a a small set of stairs led to a small messy bed decorated with stars.
"Can I help you?" A voice asked, I turned to the door shocked by the sudden noise that broke perfect silence.
"I... Uhm... I was just trying to... how are you?" I stuttered foolishly.
"I'm fine, you look like you just got hit by a train," the purple pony said.
"Sparkle Pie, isn't it?"
"What? No," she giggled, "I'm Twilight Sparkle," she bowed, "you got the Sparkle right,"
"Hehe, I'm Ty-" I stopped and remembered the princesses words, "I'm Frost Heart,"
"Nice to meet you but why are you in my room?"
"Oh, sorry, I've never been here and I was just curious,"
"I understand, come on, did you need to talk to me?"
"Yes," we headed down stairs and Twilight sat on a sofa and with some sort of magic, pulled a recliner for me to sit in.
"Well, I'm all ears, what's on your mind Frost Heart?" She asked as I sat in the chair.
"Ok, first off I'm here because your princess wants me to make some friends," her eyes shimmered.
"Princess Celestia sent you? I wonder why she didn't tell me," she looked down to the ground in thought.
"I also need one of those," I pointed to to her flank that had five stars printed on it in beautiful detail.
"A cutiemark? You don't have one?" she asked in disbelief.
"No, I never figured out what my special thing was," I tried to finger in some parentheses around "special" and "thing" but the fact that I no longer had fingers ended up with me aimlessly shaking my hooves in the air like a moron. Twilight just looked at me, not judging.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out,"
"That's why I came to Ponyville,"
"It still doesn't explain why she would send you here just to do something you should have done when you were a filly... No offense," she puzzled.
"None taken," at that moment a small creature about the size of a large teddy bear walked in the library. The noises out side were loud but very brief because the purple and green creature slammed the door angrily.
"Sorry Twilight I got tripped by somepony and they didn't even bother to say sorry," the strange creature ranted, "who's this?"
"Oh, Spike this is Frost Heart, Frost Heart, this is my assistant baby dragon, Spike," Twilight introduced.
"Howdy!" Spike cheered.
"Uhm, baby dragon?"
"Well if you insist, I'm almost a teen dragon," He explained with pride.
"Spike!" Twilight cut in. My stomach growled at that moment.
"Oh my," Twilight giggled, "Why don't you come with us? I need to go to a friends to pick up something," I nervously grinned, "Don't worry, she's a good friend. Also she loves meeting new people,"
"You mean Pinkie Pie?" Spike asked.
"Yep, I need to pick up some sugar because somepony used the last of it to make a jewel cake," The baby dragon cringed a smile. She then looked at me, "Pinkie's always baking something, I'm sure there'll be something to eat," with that she and Spike exited the door, I had no choice but to follow. It couldn't be that bad, I'm already friends with Twilight... I think.
Ch. 1 A brother and a new beginning
The constant creaking from the recliner was the only noise in the living room. I liked it that way, no blaring T.V. no annoying sister. Spoke too soon.
"Tyler? Mommy said i can watch T.V."
"Whatever, just nothing stupid, Milli,"
She turned toward the tv with glee and grabbed the black remote from the wooden coffee table. Within seconds the tv was blaring gimmicks and limited time offers. She opened the list of recorded shows and searched them. When she chose the one she wanted to watch I grunted with exasperation. My sister looked at me with a "what did i do" face. Oh, she know what she did, she put it on the mother of all girly shows.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
"Why don't you like this show?" Milli asked, "its really good and funny,"
"Uhm no, just, no," thats all I could say. The thought of happy girl ponies dancing around on stage made me cringe. The embarrassment and the over the top girlyness. "Wait, isn't it your bed time?" I asked looking at the clock as it freshly turned to nine thirty.
"Like i said, mom told me i could," she explained with a big smile on her face.
"Tomorrow will you pretty please play with me?" She asked with a eager smile on her face
"No, are you kidding this is torture enough, im going to bed," i got up from the chair and walked into my room. I laid down and plopped my head on my pillow. I was tired but i felt a little guilty. Was i being to harsh on her? Should i at least play a board game with her? It was about thirty minutes of mental torture when all of a sudden i felt my mind clear. i couldn't remember anything about what i was so stressed about. A few minutes later i drifted into a deep sleep.
I awoke to the sound of steps on a marble floor. I looked up and the only thing i could do was let my jaw drop. There standing in front of me was a large white horse with a large crown majestically placed on its head. In front of the golden crown was a large tall horn. Its mane wasn't made with hair, but what looked like the fabric of space itself. The "mane" cycled seamlessly through every color of the rainbow. Its hooves were covered in elegant golden metal.
The thing that happened next i wasnt expecting at all. It looked down at me expanded its massive wings and said in a soothing almost silk like tone,
"Hello, Tyler, my name is Princess Celestia. We have a lot to talk about regarding your stay here in Equestria."
