//-------------------------------------------------------// Heavy's Pony Panic -by TheRocketMan062- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Good Morning... //-------------------------------------------------------// Good Morning... Heavy awoke to the ambient sounds of Two-fort. The birds were chirping and the breeze was making the rickety wooden bridge that connects the RED and BLU base creak. And there was that odd unseen cow mooing. Standing and stretching his sore limbs, Heavy ambled over to the base's kitchen. Idly humming, heavy opened up the fridge and pulled out a Sandvich and a carton of orange juice. After quickly eating his breakfast, Heavy headed down to the armory. The solid glass doors slid open upon sensing his approach, allowing heavy to cross into the pearl white room. Looking through the cubby's Heavy quickly found and retrieved his beloved Minigun, Sasha. "Did Sasha sleep good?" No reply, not that Heavy was expecting one. Hefting his gun's reassuring weight Heavy set off down to the intelligence room. The difference between the upstairs of the base and the down stairs never ceased to amaze the Heavy. While the upstairs was a rough mixture of wood and sheet metal, the down stairs was made of steel and concrete. The floors were pearl white and the large computer terminals were covered in crimson metal. The entire lower floor, thanks to Heavy, was spotlessly clean. Heavy walked into the main intelligence room and sat down at the desk, setting his gun on the table. Opening one of the desks drawers Heavy pulled out the copy of "The Art of War" that Soldier gave him and opened it to where he left off the day before. It was a long while before heavy glanced up at the wall clock. "Is already eight o'clock at night? Heavy must be slower reader than he thought. I will have to practice reading English more often..." Setting the book aside and standing up, heavy walked over to the door marked TOP SECRET DO NOT ENTER. Just under that message Heavy could make out Scouts handwriting. "Beware of attack Soldier, we haven't given him his shots." Heavy chuckled a little. He was starting to miss the little pest. That or madness was setting in. Heavy punched the accesses code into the keypad. The doors lock clicked off, allowing Heavy to open it. He was forced to leave Sasha behind. There was no room to maneuver the giant weapon in the small rooms ahead of him. "Not that I need to bring Sasha." Heavy thought aloud. "I change code every day, and BLU cowards aren't here anyway. There were many things of importance behind the door. Weapons research files, Strategic documents, the bases main computer Etc. But the most important machine down here was the RESPAWN device. The amazing machine would capture one's life force before it moved on and recreate the deceased persons body exactly the way it was when the person was logged into the machines memory. Heavy nicknamed it the Lazarus Device. Heavy reached another door and keyed in the access code. the massive steel door clunked and swung open. Heavy looked at the large machine with a trained eye, looking it's multiple screens, making sure that it was running perfectly.  Satisfied that it was working smoothly, Heavy stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him. Heavy hadn't made two strides before the overhead lights flickered and died. The normally soft white lights were replaced with the harsh crimson of the emergency lights, sending the room into an eerie glow and casting dark shadows. Heavy could hear a klaxon going off somewhere in the base. "Warning, power flux detected. All base personnel to defensive positions. Repair crews to lower level's." Heavy had only heard the cold female voice of the bases main computer once before, and that was when it had gone into a frenzy when there was a power outage. Heavy heard an odd rattling noise behind him. The solid steel door was shuddering. "Big door like that should not be shaking." Heavy stated. Suddenly, a much louder klaxon sounded, and the computer spoke again. "WARNING. INTRUDERS DETECTED IN THE RESPAWN DEVICE ROOM. BASE SECURITY, RESPOND AT ONCE." Heavy snarled and pulled out his shotgun. "Little cowards think they can break respawn? Not on Heavy's watch!" Keying the code in once again, the door swung open and Heavy ran inside. The RESPAWN device looked fine. Maybe the computer was just malfunctioning. But what had made the door shudder? Looking about and seeing nothing, Heavy was about to turn and leave... Then something, or someone, coughed. Heavy whirled around with surprising speed and was upon the intruder's, bellowing in rage, before they could ever hope to flee. The last thing they saw before everything went dark was a massive hand reaching for them.
