Trixies journeyby CatluvrajChaptersGoing home is hard to doTo be or not to be?Disappointment for a UnicornSURPRISE SURPRISE!Two fillies, they're kinda sillyGoing home is hard to do Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Trixies eyes started to water. What had happened. Where was her mom. Where was her dad. What had happened. The cottage was gone. No debris. Nothing except an empty lot where it used to be. Trixie dropped all her stuff and ran into town. She asked everypony she saw if they had seen her family but no one had. What has happened to them it was as if they has just disappeared. Dis... Appeared. Oh no, trixie thought, could it be possible. Trixie thought back to her time as an apprentice. She had had to do a disappearance spell. She was supposed to make a guard disappear then make them return again, but when she tried nothing had happened. Or so she had thought. But I'm not THAT powerful to make two ponies and a cottage disappear from far away. No it wasnt possible it had to be something else But what could it be. Did they decide to move somewhere else? No, trixie thought, then the cottage wouldn't be gone. Or maybe they didnt want to leave the cottage but really wanted to move so they somehow took the cottage wherever they moved to. But their magic can't be that powerful. Besides they only used it to copy books. Well what to do now?, trixie thought. She had nowhere to go. All of her friends had gone to different cities to be apprentices of masters of their talents. Besides she had been gone for so long she wouldn't even know where to look for them. Trixie picked up her stuff and walked to the ponyville in where she got a room with most of her money. She settled in and went downstairs to the inn computers. She typed into the search bar "feather pen and inkpen" and she finally figured out what happened... To be or not to be?Trixies horn started to glow as the rock lifted into the air. Finally the rock nearly touched the ceiling and trixie slowly Brought it to the ground, though not without a loud thud. Then trixie shrunk the Rock and turned it into a fountain. Trixie smiled at her accomplishment. "Good job, trixie. You have shown much improvement since you begin. Ivy Bright you're next." Said Princess Celestia Trixie watched Ivy Bright as she stepped towards another rock. Ivy was a yellow unicorn with a soft yellow mane that turned into green ten blue and matching eyes. Ivy Bright had been better at magic than Trixie even though she didnt try quite as much as trixie. Ivy Brights horn began glowing and the rock started to lift into the air. As it reached the ceiling she shrunk the Rock and carried it down in a stream of water that came from the rock. Her horn stopped glowing and she stepped back "Excellent job, Ivy Bright! Please meet me in the dining hall later where I will tell you my decision," Princess Celestia smiled and she walked off. "Right the decision" trixie thought as she slowly walked to her room "the decision on whether my studies with Princess Celestia will resume or whether they will end." When trixie was about to enter her room Ivy Bright said "You did great trixie! I'm sure Princess Celestia will have to think very carefully about who she's going to choose." And with that Ivy stepped into her room Trixie laid in her bed and began to doze off. Shortly after there was a knock on her door "Princess Celestia has requested your presence in the dining hall" trixie heard the voice of a castle guard. Trixie scrambled out of bed and trotted to the dining hall, butterflies in her stomach. When she got there she saw that Ivy Bright had just gotten there. "At least I'm not late!" Trixie thought as she stood next to Ivy "I have thought long about my decision," said Princess Celestia "Trixie, you have shown great improvement since I began teaching you. Ivy Bright, you have shown great potential as my apprentice. The pony I have chosen to continue teaching is..." Disappointment for a Unicorn Trixie stiffened as Princess Celestia said her decision. All this and for what? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. She might as well quit magic now and do something else with her life, no matter what her cutie mark was. It must have been a mistake and would only be a reminder of how she wasnt good enough "Ivy Bright! Congratulations! As for you trixie, take all the time you need to move out. We will accommodate you until you do. Ivy, if you would come with me..." And with that Princess Celestia walked off with Ivy Bright behind her. But Ivy turned before she walked out of the room "I'm so sorry Trixie, but please don't give up." And she walked out of the room. Don't give up. Yeah right. Trixie rushed to her room and started packing using magic, but stuff started falling here and there. I'm so horrible at magic I can't even pack my own things. Soon she had everything packed, she walked down the stairs and heard Princess Celestia TALKIG to Ivy Bright "You will have daily lessons every morning after I raise the sun and will be expected to show the skills you have learned at the end of every week" "I'm so excited! Though I feel bad for Trixie..." Replied Ivy Bright There it is again. Making it impossible for Trixie to be mad at Ivy without feeling bad. Well at least I don't have to get up early. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. At least there's that but besides a it there's nothing to look forward to. Nothing to hope for. Nothing. Trixie felt empty as she walked back to the train. It had been so long since she'd been home she didnt know what she would do when she got there. No time to worry for that, she thought as the train arrived at ponyville. She walked through ponyville and arrived at the outskirts where her cottage was. When she came to where it was she stopped because she saw... SURPRISE SURPRISE! Trixie held back tears as she stared at the computer screen. Could it really be true? Had her magic been more powerful than she thought? But she still wasnt better then Ivy Bright. All that had come from being an apprentice was making her parents disappear. Fantastic. Not. Trixie stared at the article that showed up. Featherpen and Inkpen had run a book shop where they would copy old texts to sell them to buyers but as equestria advanced factories got hold of these texts and started printing them making the Pens go bankrupt. The Pens had been planning on moving to Manehattan with Trixies aunts and uncles but they never showed up there. Soon ponies had wondered where they were and went to check their cottage to find that it was missing. Correction, it had disappeared. Trixie trudged up to her room and went to bed but couldn't sleep. So she tried out her magic. She tried fixing the bed but nothing happened. She wasnt able to concentrate. She had made her parents disappear along with the cottage she had always lived in... Trixie woke up early and packed all her stuff. She didnt know where she was going but she wasnt staying here. Trixie left the inn and trudged through Ponyville and entered the Everfree forest. Trixie had always been amazed at the forest since she was little. Clouds moved by themselves. Animals could take care of themselves. Plants grew by themselves. The the place seemed magical to her as if some great being was controlling it all. But as trixie walked through the forest she felt empty as if magic had a different meaning to her now. Trixie had no idea where she was going but she kept walking. The deeper she got in the forest the darker it got and soon trixie was getting a little paranoid. The leaves rustling is a monster creeping through the bushes. The wind blowing was the howl of an animal trixie came into a clearing and heard... A scream? No no it's just the wind. But... It sounds like a voice. No wait, voices. The voices started getting closer. And trixie saw the bushes on the other side if the clearing rustling and heard screams and a growl. Trixie had heard that growl before from her crhildhood, but she had forced those horrible memories out of her mind long before. Trixie stepped back just as the owners if the screams came out of the bushes. Trixie gasped as she saw... Two fillies, they're kinda sillyTrixie gasped at two fillies ran out of the bushes screaming for their lives. They ran towards trixie and hid behind her. Trixie watched as a timber wolf approached from the bushes. Trixie knew she had to do something but she didnt know what. She saw two branches in a bush in front if the timberwolf. Her horn started glowing and soon the bush out on fire. The timberwolf ran straight through it and came out burning. It howled and ran out of the clearing leaving a trail of burning bushes. Soon, trixie knew, it would die. • The two fillies hiding behind her came out from behind her. "That was amazing"a short plump one said. "Yeah you saved our lives" a taller one said. • They were both unicorns but they seemed pretty clumsy. Neither had their cutie mark but trixie doubted it could ever be in magic. They just weren't the type you'd imagine to just study magic like trixie had • "You are the greatest unicorn I've ever seen" said the small one "And the most powerful" added the tall one • They looked at each other and then started chanting. After a while she added "oh my names trixie by the way • "BEHOLD THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE! BEHOLD THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE" • Trixie listened to them and started gaining confidence. Maybe they are right, she thought. Maybe i am great and powerful after all. I just needed some more time to catch up to Ivy Bright. I'd show her, trixie thought, when I amazed all of Ponyville. No, all of Equestria. But what where would I st.. • The two fillies stopped chanting and the short one said "you HAVE to come back to our treehouse, trixie. It's totally awesome and it's right next to this weird zebra" "Yeah its a great spying place. You just HAVE to come" said the tall one and started tugging her farther into the forest. • Trixie didn't know what else to do so she just followed them. They had gone a little way when the short filly started talking • "Oh and by the way we are...
