AppleBloom’s Desperate Measures

"Now AppleBloom, make sure you talk to no strangers, ya hear!" AppleJack commanded, as the two Apple ponies reached the school, it was the first time AppleBloom had ever been out this late, her curfew was 6:00, no later, yet AppleBloom and her sister were standing right outside the school at likely 6:30, yet the cream colored pony wasn't sure what time it truly was.

AppleBloom had never dressed so fancy in her whole life, Rarity, being the element of generosity, made AppleBloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo dresses for the dance. Although Granny Smith wanted AppleBloom to wear what she first wore to her school dance when she was a young pony, yet even AppleJack could tell the dress Granny Smith wanted the young earth pony to wear, was so out of style.

If AppleBloom wore it, she was sure to get looks from everypony in the dance, and not in a good way. "ah Gotcha, sis! No talking to any strangers, For the last time I'm not a baby!" AppleBloom replied, she heard the line everyday, it was time for the Apple family to understand, she was in grade 3, now! There was no need to tell her the stupid line over again.

"shucks, sugar cube, I can't believe your growing up so fast, its like you were learning how to talk just yesterday...." The orange earth pony said taking off her hat then putting it to her chest, you could almost see tears in her eyes.

"Sis, you stop that, your starting to sound like Granny!" AppleBloom whined, as Applejack chuckled, putting her one of a kind hat back on, whipping the tears out of her eyes soon after, she put a big smile back on. AppleBloom looked around, looking for her fellow cutie mark crusaders, she saw Diamond Tiara, she looked like a princess, she always did, soon the pink earth pony looked over at AppleBloom, a evil grin placed on her face.

AppleBloom looked away, trying to find her two best friends once again, "don't y'all worry about Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, they'll be here, it is your school dance after all!" AppleJack comforted, easily able to tell AppleBloom's worry.

"Yeah but, sis, what if Scootaloo got the feather flu and Sweetie Belle broke her hoof, I can't go to the school dance without them!" AppleBloom protested, looking down at her hooves.

"Hey, you and I both know Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were more excited about this school dance then Granny Smith winning on Bingo night!" Just then as if they were waiting for the right moment Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo came running toward AppleBloom at high speed.

"AppleBloom, you look amazing!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed, as Rarity ran trying to catch up to them, once she did catch up to the young ponies, she was to out of breath to say anything "i'msoexcited!" Sweetie Belle squealed, even though it was loud it was to fast and high pitched for AppleBloom to make out what she said.

"My goodness.......Sweetie Belle, don't run off on me.......like that!" Rarity shouted between gasps, AppleJack walked up to her body that was close to falling to the ground.

"What in tarnation, are you doing here Rarity, ah thought your parents were gonna take Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo...?" AppleJack questioned "well at least thats what ah remembered Scootaloo telling me when I offered that I take her along with AppleBloom....You know, since...Shes an orphan and all...." AppleJack said, whispering the last part, since she knew how sensitive Scootaloo got about the subject.

"Oh, yes, that was what was planned, but I just knew I had to see how my dresses looked on Sweetie Belle and her friends at the dance, come to think of it there some of the best dresses i've made since the gala dresses and I was thinking about remaking them and selling them!" Rarity exclaimed finally after she caught her breath, using her magic, she got a camera out of her bag "now I'm taking pictures for all of you girls to take home so you can remember this special night!" The marshmallow unicorn then held up the camera with her magic "say Cheese!"

She told the girls, Sweetie Belle,Scootaloo and AppleBloom put there hooves around one another and smiled "Cheese!" The girls exclaimed as the camera flashed three times total, three pictures came out of the open slot on the camera, Rarity looked at them.

"Hmmm....The camera loves you girls, I wouldn't be surprised if you all got your cutie marks in modeling!"  Rarity exclaimed, as the three cutie mark crusaders looked at each other with huge smiles on there faces, as there faces quickly went to look at their own flanks to see if a cutie mark showed up, soon the smiles turned into frowns once they noticed nothing was there. "Here you go girls, now, Sweetie, Scootaloo, give them a good look and then give them back to me and once I come to pick you guys up I'll bring them back...." Rarity said giving each of them a picture with her magic

"Don't worry, AppleBloom I'll take the picture and give it back to you once ah come to pick you up at the dance, also..." AppleJack stated, AppleBloom smiled and gave AppleJack the picture after having at look at it, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo did the same except instead of giving it to AppleJack, they gave it to Rarity.

"Now ah think its about time you girls headed to the dance, have fun!" Applejack told the girls smiling warmly, as the cutie mark crusaders turned to look at the school, they soon began to gallop towards it.

"See ya later, sis!" AppleBloom cried before heading into the school.

"Man, this is going to be so cool!" Scootaloo added walking towards the gym, where the dance was being held along with the unicorn and earth pony, Once the three girls walked into the gym music was all the young fillies could hear, there was a large disco ball placed in the middle of the room and there was a DJ on the stage.

"This is so awesome!" AppleBloom shouted so that her friends could hear her since the music was so loud, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle heard her but both of them were so amazed they could not respond. Everypony was dancing happily, and soon the cutie mark crusaders found themselves doing the same, soon the musics volume was lowered down a bit and changed to a more in the background song, giving everypony enough time to hang out and talk to eachother without having to yell.

Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and AppleBloom were sitting at one of the small tables put in the other side of the room, away from the dance floor "ah gonna go and get some punch, do you girls want any.....?" AppleBloom asked, before going to the refreshments table, the other girls nodded, but soon after began having a conversation about what they should do next to get there cutie marks.

The cream colored pony walked up to the large table and grabbed the huge spoon with her mouth putting the pink, watermelon favored liquid into three plastic cups. "If it isn't lil miss blank flank....." AppleBloom heard from behind her as she put the large spoon back in the punch bowl, once she heard it she growled in frustration, she knew exactly who it was.

"What do ya want?" AppleBloom questioned rudely, turning to look at the pony speaking, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were behind her as she expected, the two earth ponies looked at each other and giggled.

"for your information, blank flank, you were in my way......" Diamond Tiara said bluntly, grinning wildly which AppleBloom truly couldn't understand why, AppleBloom soon rolled her eyes and walked away from the table, accidentally tripping Diamond Tiara in the process, yet her facial expression showed no regret.

Diamond Tiara growled as she got up from off the ground, AppleBloom looked over to see what SilverSpoon had to say, but all the filly could do was let her mouth drop, in horror. Diamond Tiara soon found herself smirking again "you think this stupid little prank is going to fool me? Well, you, blank flank, are wrong, dead wrong, you'll get whats coming for you later..."  AppleBloom rolled her eyes again, and looked over to see Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo walking up to her.

"Something wrong?" Scootaloo asked, Applebloom shook her head "cause if anything was wrong, I could easily show these little brats there place....." She continued, purposely in ear shot from Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon, earning a slight giggle from Sweetie Belle.

AppleBloom smiled warmly "thanks scoots, but that won't be needed....." She then grabbed her cup of punch with her mouth, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle did the same, except well doing it, they look at Diamond Tiara madly, and left to there table.

Soon the cutie mark crusaders could see Cheerliee walking up on the stage where the DJ and throne for the announced Queen was "okay everypony, you know what time it is, its time to cast your votes for the Queen...." The teaching earth pony said into the microphone.

Soon cards showing the names Diamond Tiara, Twist, and AppleBloom were handed out to all the fillys, anyone could get voted, yet you could ask Cheerliee if your name could be on the ballot, "hey AppleBloom...." AppleBloom heard Sweetie Belle whisper, she turned to look at the marshmallow unicorn, the unicorn held up the ballot so AppleBloom could see it, you could see a check mark next to AppleBlooms name, showing Sweetie Belle had voted for her. Soon AppleBloom felt her back tapped and looked over to see Scootaloo also showing her ballot, which also had a check mark next to AppleBlooms name.

"Thanks y'all, but it won't make a difference...." AppleBloom muttered, putting a check mark next to Twist's name, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle then glanced at one another wondering why the optimistic AppleBloom was being such a downer.

Soon a stallion came around and gathered all of the ballots, AppleBloom couldn't help but feel bad for herself, sometimes the young filly would wonder why couldn't she have been born wealthy and popular like Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon, although if someone accused her of being jealous of Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon, she would immediately deny it, but she knew it was the truth.

Soon Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo began having a hushed conversation about AppleBloom and how she seemed so upset, even though Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were trying to keep the chat to themselves, even so AppleBloom could hear them loud a clear.

Soon everypony could see Cheerliee was back on stage, beside her was the male unicorn who had gathered the votes in the first place, Once Cheerliee got everyone in the gyms attention the unicorn had used his magic to show Cheerliee the new Queen.

AppleBloom heard loud giggling at a small table that was across from hers, in the table was Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon, what are they so happy about, seriously, aren't does two used to wining... AppleBloom thought, "This years Queen is......" AppleBloom went and began to drink from her cup of punch ready for the moment they would say Diamond Tiara, even if AppleBloom wanted to be the one to win that crown.

"....AppleBloom!" Cheerliee finished, AppleBlooms eyes widened at the sound of her name, she soon found herself spitting out all the punch she was originally going to swallow in surprise, soon clapping from everyone in the room could be heard.

"Did you hear that AppleBloom, you won!" Sweetie Belle screamed, happy tears came into the young earth pony's eyes, she couldn't believe it, she won....She slowly galloped up onto the stage, still so amazed she couldn't help but be slow. AppleBloom stood on the stage, facing the crowd, she began to cry happily, this was officially the best day of her life.

Cheerliee slowly put the crown on AppleBloom "congratulations, AppleBloom, now go sit on your new throne...." AppleBloom turned to look at HER throne she walked to it slowly and sat on the throne "please everyone give a hand for rhis years school Queen....AppleBloom!"

The crowds clapping got louder in response, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belles clapping was louder then the rest since they were so happy for there fellow cutie mark crusader.

AppleBloom was so happy she almost felt like doing some kind of happy dance, she then felt a liquid on one of her hooves, she went to look at it, it was red paint huh? AppleBloom asked herself as she looked up.

SPLAT!

"APPLEBLOOM!" Sweetie Belle shrieked in response, as she stopped clapping and looked up in horror along with Scootaloo, AppleBlooms jaw dropped as she looked at her hooves, which were covered in red paint, soon Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon burst out laughing, along with a few ponies in the audience.

"You think you were actually voted for?" Diamond Tiara yelled, AppleBloom looked at her in surprise "we rigged it you stupid, blank flank! The only people who really voted for you were them!" She shouted once again, pointing at the table the still jaw dropped Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were sitting in.

AppleBlooms happy tears began to fade and were soon replaced with sad ones "Diamond Tiara, SilverSpoon how dare you! Detention for two months!" Cheerliee shouted, yet it didn't make AppleBloom any happier to see the two wealthy earth ponies in trouble like it usually did.

AppleBloom threw the vase she had in her room at the wall "stupid Diamond Tiara!" She cried, she had just came home from running out of the school away from Diamond Tiara with red paint all over her, although Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo tried to catch up to her to comfort her, she wouldn't except the comfort, she just kept on running.

Once she got home she quickly had a bath even though AppleJack wanted to know why her younger sister was so upset and why she was home early, AppleBloom didn't want to talk to anypony. She had never been so humiliated in her entire life, she had never been in so much pain, she wanted to die, she wanted Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon to die, everypony was laughing at her, thanks to them. It was such a special day for AppleBloom but Diamond Tiara ruined it.

Why me? she asked herself this again and again, there was no way she could just get up and feel better again like the other times Diamond Tiara and SilverSpoon did this kind of mischief, this really stun.

Soon AppleBloom found herself looking at the broken glass on the ground that was originally a vase until AppleBloom threw it, the cream colored earth pony walked up and took some of the glass in her mouth, there were times when the glass would cut the roof of AppleBlooms mouth, but she didn't care.

Soon she began to break the glass with her teeth, she swallowed as much of the glass as she could, purposly inflicting pain on herself, her throat was now damaged by all the cuts she had got from swallowing all that broken glass, why am I doing this?
