Prolouge:
The loneliest path
You ran dodging this way and that. The trees grew thick in these areas and it made for a hard escape. You looked over your shoulder to check on your pursuer. 'Yep, still there.' Hopping over a fallen tree you glance back again to see him clear it with ease. 'He just doesn't know when to give up...'
You took a hard right on a rather large oak to avoid it and change up the trail a bit. Your pursuer followed the exact path and continued on weaving through the trees hard on your tail.
Poking your head out between the trees you watched as he continued on. You let a rather loud chuckle press through your lips. Catching your breath came next but that was much easier. You began to glide over the underbrush on light hooves. You were a tracker and knew how to move silently through the forest but it still didn't make it hard to detect you.
Reaching the edge of the tree line took a while but you made it without any more troubles. You peered through the bush in front of you and observed a town ahead. It looked oddly familiar but you couldn't put your hoof on it. 'Have I really run that far?' You ask yourself. You had been chased almost non-stop for what you guess to be about six to seven hours. 'Where did it all go wrong?'
You walked out of the bar trying to let the news settle in a get a bit of fresh air in you. Tempers in the bar were on edge at the moment and anything could set off the rather large gathering of friends. They all didn't seem to be happy but it is kind of hard to tell when everything has just been thrown at you the way you told them. A large red stallion walked out of the bar after you got a block away. He yelled out for you to stop.
Your eyes widened as his voice rang in your ears. It was full of rage and ignorance. He had no idea what he dragged himself into. You bolted down the street and listened to the few screams that accompanied his pursuit. 'Fuck me...'
You sat at the edge of the woods and let the tears well up on the very tips of your eyelids. It has been so long since any emotion had even thought about crossing your path. It pained you to even let the tears well up. You tired your best to blink them away but they just pushed out and ran down your checks. No longer to hold back you let the pent up emotions flood your body and rock your brain.
A sea blue pony approached you and prodded you with a gentle hoof. "Hey... Are you okay?" You shook your head violently and curled into a tight ball on the ground. She sat down next to you and gently stroked you while humming a lullaby. Memories of being a foal and a young colt ran through your mind each as depressing or happy as the last. You slowly loosened your grip on yourself and tried to relax. You stopped sobbing and got a good look at the mare who comforted you. Her coat reminded you of a lake that your family had once picnicked at. Her mane was a deep blue that reminded you of the sun setting. Her eyes were of the deepest crystal clear purple any pony had ever had. She was a very attractive young mare, but you had four back in Canterlot and two of them had a foal on the way! You latched onto her and broke down to bawling your eyes out. She wrapped her hooves around you and rocked you gently back and forth. It was very soothing to say the least but it only made you want to bathe her in your sorrow even more than before.
"We can do this all day you know..." The large stallion called out. The outskirts of the forest were close but running in them could prove fatal even if it was the best option at the moment.
"Yeah? You yelled out to him. "Can you keep up in here?" You shrug to the trees behind you.
"Eeyup.." He stated pretty flatly.
"I bet ya can't prove it!" You yell running into the brush. He was close behind. You dodged each tree with ease but tried your best to keep a faster pace than him. It was physically tiring but it would have to do for now.
A quick glance back confirmed your fears. Despite his large size he navigated through with grace and speed. He was gaining, and fast. You jumped over a ledge and kept the chase alive. He hopped it with an ease bound. 'He can't do this forever... I can't either...'
Your tears had long since dried up. You couldn't get a hold of yourself long enough to thank the mare. She understood of course but didn't stop the flow and instead actually encouraged it a bit. Her hug tightened as you finally began to calm down. You sat there for a while just holding onto her. Resting your head on her shoulder you felt sleep over come your body. You were exhausted long before the break down but now you could barely move. She noticed and laid down in the grass dragging you along with.
"Th-thanks..." You said with a sniffle.
"Don't worry... Just go to sleep you look like you really need it..." You didn't argue. You couldn't argue even if you wanted to. Curling up against her body you slowly drifted off into slumber.

Celestia walked into the measly establishment and frowned at the mares that sat around and idly chatted. Luna looked up and stared at her sister. She looked devastated and this unlocked a deep rooted anger that Celestia had never before felt.
"WHERE IS THAT PIECE OF SHIT!?!?!?!" Celestia screamed. Her mane jittered in random directions. Her tail equally spasmed and her eyes were wide with pupils the size of pin points.
"Sister... Don't..." Luna said in a small whimper as she cowered under Celestia. "He's gone... None of us expect to see him again..." Celestia did far from calm down. The doors to the bar blew open and flew in shattered bits across the street. Ponies ran screamed at the sight.
Taking a few steps out in the street Celestia spread her massive wings and gave a few test flaps.
"Tia! No!" Luna cried out behind her sister. Celestia turned her head slightly. Luna winced and backed away as she saw Celestia's eyes scream murder. "No..." Luna mumbled before her sister took to the skies.

Big Mac stopped and looked around. He had taken the turn at the oak and kept on his tail. 'Where did that bugger go?'
He looked up and noticed the sun was beginning to set. He turned to put the sun on his right and walked that general direction. 'Darn place gotta end somewhere...' He thought taking a few careful steps to avoid hitting a stray branch. He would have to return to Canterlot soon to pick up his sister and friends so they could get on the road back to Ponyville. He and Applejack had trees to buck and had no more time until harvest time would be in full swing. 'I hope they are alright...'

Fern looked up at her sister MoonJade and sighed. "Jade..." The dark pony didn't answer instead she just gulped down more of the numbing liquid she had been chugging since Celestia left.
"Jade... That's not good on the foal..." Fern said trying to get her sister to stop the erratic drinking.
"What do I care? He sure doesn't..." She sniffled out and looked on the verge of tears. Jade quickly took another swig.
"Now don't say that... He loves and the foal... He even said so... He loves Fluttershy and hers as well... He loves all of us... The only thing was that he couldn't have you... Or any pony in this room for that matter... He thinks he doesn't deserve us... Hay I guarantee that he's probably already started to see the mistake he made..." Jade looked up with hope in her eyes.
"Really? You sure?" Fern nodded and took the distraction to take the beer away from her sibling.
"You'll see him again... Trust me... He has to come back... Here and now? Probably not, but I'm sure it will be soon... Just you wait he will be crawling at your doorstep begging for forgiveness." This seemed to cheer Jade up a bit more.
"You're right! I just need to give him time to adjust is all..."
"Now you're getting it!" Fern said a little excited.
"I can't wait..." Jade said flatly. Fern looked at her sister in disappointment. She crossed her fore-hooves and shook her head. This made Jade laugh and soon Fern joined in. The other mares in the room turned to regard the laughing couple.
'I hope I'm right...' Fern thought.
