//-------------------------------------------------------// Your Student No More -by halo555gs- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Leader's Letter. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Leader's Letter. Dear Princess Celestia, It is with great sadness that I write you, from my new home in the UNS. I know you don't want to speak to me, but I hope you will read this letter. You couldn't possibly understand how meaningful it is to me that you do so. I have spent the last eleven years as your most faithful student, but now I must give that privilege up. From day one, I knew this would all have to end eventually, but not like this. I hope my friends will be okay. Please take care of them for me. I will cherish these years for all of eternity, bringing them with me to my grave. Nine years ago you sent me to Ponyville to meet my friends. I know now that they were just another set of pawns in your game, but I still would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to make friends. I had never had a true friend before that point, unless you include my brother. So for that, I thank you. I remember my life in Canterlot before that. I had thought happiness was that feeling I got when I figured out the answer to a particularly hard puzzle. I remember when the most drama in my life was when something was unorganized. These days I go out of my way to disorganize things, because it helps. Without the chaos I would go insane. I know it seems strange, but trust me, if this letter were organized it would destroy its purpose anyways. Oh, by now you've probably noticed the paralysis enchantment on this letter. Don't worry about it. I just wanted to make sure you read the whole letter, it will wear out soon, and it has no harmful side affects. I loved you Celestia, and I thought you loved me too. I see now that all you really cared about was my power. You wanted to get rid of a potential threat. I have to say, your plan was pretty well thought-out. I would never have guessed at your true intentions if Sunset Shimmer hadn't warned me of them. Oh, that's right, I forgot to mention her to you last time we spoke. It seems that she's returned to our world, for the time being at least. And here you had me convinced that she was completely evil. Don't get the wrong idea, she's not the essence of goodness, but her actions were fueled in part by the insanity you cast upon her. The same that you cast on Sombra, Luna, Star Swirl and probably would have cast upon me sooner or later. How many years would you have waited? Would you have waited for me to have children first, like you did to Sunset? You killed them. I don't believe for even half a second that they just happened to be on the castle's towers when the earthquake struck. You let her have children! You waited until they were old enough to go off on their own, exploring the castle. You are a monster, and I am ashamed to have loved you. I'm ashamed that I still love you, despite all you've done. Is it so wrong though? How could I stop loving you? I can't. I hate you for this. Neither can any of your previous students. We're all alive still. I wasn't supposed to tell you, but I can't keep anything from you.         I saved Star Swirl personally, using a time spell he'd written right before his "fall into insanity." The spell he kept secret. I found the clues in his journal though. I found his secret hidey-hole in the palace. I'm surprised his spell of concealment held up for so long. I've said too much on this already. I really should rewrite this letter. We wish we could have saved Luna as well, but we're too late for that. Sombra could be saved, but he's too much of a wild card, even without the insanity you cast on him. I'm sorry, I've gone off on a tangent. I was originally writing to you to review our conditions.  Our new nation cannot win in a war against Equestria. We are not so stupid as to believe that. But despite our condition, we would ask of you to humor us.         The United Nation of the Species would ask of you to officially recognize us as a country, and to provide us with enough land to live peacefully. We would also ask for immigration rights. Or is that emigration rights? Whichever, I am new to politics, and I apologize. We ask of you to allow Equestrian citizens the right to emigrate to the UNS. I would hate for my friends to be considered outlaws for coming to help out here.         In return for these favors we offer to give up possession of the Elements of Harmony. We know that you have the ability to use the Elements on your own, and have no need for them ourselves. I trust you would be happier with our country if you were in possession of your super-weapon? We also offer to take care of Discord for you. We know he has caused you plenty of trouble recently. I wonder why? Perhaps it is so do with his personal dealings with you. If you require assistance, we would be glad to take the God of Chaos and Disharmony into our hands. He would be very beneficial to have around. The changling Princess, Lilyth, of  the Nethra-7 hive would also like to request that you stopped blaming the changelings for your problems and "stop being a tyrannical, racist bitch." Her words, not mine. I believe she is angry because of the racist, anti-changeling propaganda you've spread about her and her family., and asking that you treat changelings as any other pony. Frankly I'm appalled that you would continue this treatment after the problems between ponies and gryphons. If racism against them is bad, how could you treat the changelings in such a horrible way? Sunset asked me to tell you she still thinks you could change. Star Swirl disagrees. He says I should enchant this letter with an explosive spell, or maybe draw a ring of acidity on the back. I'm only 67% sure he was kidding. Sorrowfully, Princess Twilight Sparkle, of the United Nation of the Species. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Tyrant's Reply //-------------------------------------------------------// The Tyrant's Reply Twilight Sparkle, It has come to my attention that you have decided to follow on the path of many before you and defy me. I am sorry to say that as of the completion of my writing of this letter you are to be publicly announced as a federal threat. Orders are not to detain, but to kill you. I am very sorry it has come to this. In any other situation, I would deny what you have said about me, but this is a personal matter. I will admit that I did take you on as a student because I thought you were a threat. I would tell you that I never meant to destroy you, but again, this is a personal letter. Yes, I took you on as a student because you were a threat to my rule, and the only way for me to destroy you without anypony learning of what I had done would be to make it seem that you had turned against our country. If I had paid somepony off, word would have gotten out eventually. This way is cleaner. Easier, almost. Easier to handle at least. Eleven years ago, I took you on as my student. I learned many more things from you than you can imagine, but that is really not important. The only important thing I've learned is that I need a new method for... Cleansing, my country. This one simply isn't working. The idea that you believe you can stand against me is laughable. As for your new obsession with chaos, I have nothing to say other than "you're already insane." I thank you for giving me all the evidence I need to finally rid my land of you. Oh, yes. I have also placed a paralysis spell on this parchment. As you said, No worries, it isn't permanent, and it (probably) wont cause any nasty side affects. I say probably because it's an experimental spell, meant only to paralyze you until you finish reading this letter. (It's only slightly invasive of your mind, don't worry.) It is a touching sentiment, for you to say you loved me. However, that is quite one-sided. See, after what you've done, I cannot bring myself to say that I do not hate your very being. I cannot say I am surprised that it would be Sunset Shimmer who told you of my true intent, although I expected it to happen later then it did. I am so sorry to disappoint you, (well, not really.) but I've known of Sunset's return for quite the time. In fact, I've known every time she returned, and I know that she never mind, you need not know about that as of now... How many years would i have waited? How many years would I have waited? Hmm, I cannot say. I would probably have wait for something to happen that could explain your sudden deterioration into insanity. I thought of beginning when you returned from the portal, but decided against it for the time being. Children? You make me laugh. If I felt like it, you would never have gotten married. Your husband, in fact, would like to know where you've run off to. As a member of my royal court, I know he would believe anything I told him... What sort of story should I come up with this time? Perhaps I'll bring out my newest addition to my list of stories... You were swayed by the influence of the humans. You saw the state their world was in, and decided you wanted machines such as their's. Despite the negative influence on the planet. From there the humans taught you of their modern weaponry, and it all deteriorated from then on. Or who knows? Maybe I'll play the classic "jealousy" card. You aren't the only one ashamed that you love me. I thought I had taught you better than to love your enemies. Yes, I consider us enemies. I am impressed with you all, that you could save Star Swirl, join forces with the Changelings, and all you've done. By now I'm sure you've realized how much of a prick Star Swirl can be. I almost feel bad for you all, having him with you. I am sorry to say, I cannot comply with a single one of your requests. You, and anyone else associated with your so-called "Union" are hereby proclaimed as threats to my true country, and I recommend you run as far as possible, because when I find you, you will likely experience immeasurable pain. Calling yourselves a country is a joke. Truly. You barely amount to an organization! Joining with the changelings only furthers your troubles, as the changelings and those associated with them are cursed with terrible luck. Literally, I mean. It was my idea, and it has truly made life easier for me. Nopony seems to have realized the enchantment until quite recently, and have yet to break it. I have no doubt that it is you attempting to do so, but I apologize. You see, the spell is not powered by my magic. It is powered by the entire day court. The chances of a single pony breaking this enchantment are nearly impossible, and I doubt even I could do so without killing at least half of the court first. Although if I were to do so, I'd probably start with your husband. I'm afraid I haven't been entirely honest with you. Earlier, I said no harm would come to you of the paralysis spell on this parchment. I lied. Star Swirl gave me a good idea, and frankly, you should have listened to him, you might have been able to weaken me slightly. Instead, I now do what you should have done. This letter was destined to end with a bang. I have created a special bomb for this very occasion. It causes a super-massive stream of energy to flow out  of this letter, overloading the brains of all nearby magic users with pure power, straight from the sun. Farewell, (or terribly, it really isn't my concern, I guess I'd prefer the latter.) Princess Celestia, Sun Goddess, and benevolent ruler of Equestria. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Truth //-------------------------------------------------------// The Truth         Sunset Shimmer laughed cruelly. "Who knew forgery was this easy? Twilight Sparkle is a fool."         "I wouldn't underestimate her..." Chided Lilyth, "She did play a big part in defeating my Aunt Chrysie, remember?"         "Oh, pshaw, even I know that Cadenza did all the work, and I wasn't even in Equestria when that happened. Besides, she was completely fooled by the fake letter. I doubt she even knows that you can 'hijack' a dragon's mailbox spell."         "How did you get that explosive spell anyways?" Lilyth asked, taking a sip from a delicate wineglass.         "Oh, simple really. Remember how Star Swirl wanted to cast an explosive spell on the letter to Celestia?"         Lilyth grinned, "I like where this is going..."         Sunset laughed, "I told him to cast it onto a blank paper, then I wrote the letter, and sent it off to the dragon. He never suspected a thing."         "When did Celestia's students become so ignorant?" Lilyth wondered aloud. The two plotters laughed, and Sunset poured herself another glass of wine. She knew she was drunk, but who cared? Their plan was going perfect. Except... One thing. Sunset Shimmer had nopony to celebrate with. Well, she had Lilyth, but she was... Well, a she. Sunset wanted some pony to "celebrate" with, not just celebrate. And that prick Twilight Sparkle had went and married Flash Sentry. Sunset gazed over at Lilyth's sleek, insectoid black shell. She was a changeling...         "Sunny?" Asked Lilyth, "is something the matter?" Had she called Sunset 'Sunny'? Or was that just the wine playing tricks on her?         "No, everything's fine..." Sunset leaned on the table, arching her back. "I just, I miss having a colt always available like back on the other side of the portal," Her stretching hooves knocked over a wineglass, spilling wine on her orange coat, "shit."         "Oh? Do you now?" Lilyth grinned at Sunset, making it obvious that she was feeling the effects of the wine just as much, if not more, than the unicorn. "Well, I'm no stallion, but I have all the time in the world, and nopony else to spend it with..." Lilyth leaned forward, sensually nuzzling Sunset's neck. Sunset Shimmer let out a soft sigh, and kissed Lilyth hard, pressing her mouth to the changeling's. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+         Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle was having a slightly less romantic night. About 90 minutes ago she had received a reply from the Princess. The contents were more than enough proof that nothing could be done to bring Celestia back to the right state of mind. Assuming she was ever in it. Celestia was insane. More insane than any spell she could cast upon her students. Twilight had hoped with all of her heart that Sunset Shimmer had been lying. But alas, this letter was plenty of proof that she was not. Twilight had barely stopped the explosion from destroying her home, and now she had a terrible headache. "Oh, Celestia, why? Why did things have to turn out like this?" Twilight hated to believe that Celestia was insane, but the letter proved it! Only Celestia could send letters through Spike. "What's going on down there! Why is there smoke everywhere?" Star Swirl trotted down the stairs, "What in Tartarus?" He stared at Twilight, who was holding the smoking letter in her hoof to prevent any more magical strain. "What is that?' Twilight handed it to him, speaking softly, "A reply from Celestia." Star Swirl scanned the letter slowly, his face becoming contorted with rage as he did. "That insane bitch! What is the matter with her? She even dared to return my spell-" "What are you talking about? Your spell?" Twilight's mouth hung open. "Oh, well... Y'see, I kinda enchanted the paper you wrote your letter on...' "You did WHAT? Twilight's eyes grew fiery with rage, "well, thanks a lot! Because of you, I had to suppress the spell, and it bucking HURT!" Star Swirl hung his head in shame, "look Twilight, I'm sorry I acted so rash," he put a hoof on Twilight's shoulder, "but I was right." Twilight looked at him angrily, slapped him, and then turned, heading up the stairs to her room. "Ouch. That wasn't the smartest thing to say." Star Swirl was shocked to see Spike was still standing by the door. "Gee, thanks." Star Swirl lowered his head and slowly trotted up the stairs. Spike watched him leave. When the much-younger-than-he-imagined Unicorn was gone, he sighed. "Poor Twilight. I hope she's gonna be okay..."
