Applebloom skipped to Sugar Cube Corner, especially delighted with herself. Claw is gonna be so happy! She had been up all night trying to think of a way to cheer her friend up. She finally figured out how she would  achieve such a feat. Now all I need to do is show him!

The closer Applebloom got, the more nervous she became. What if he doesn't like it? What then? I don't know if anything else could make him happy. As Applebloom walked in, the smell of cupcakes and pie wafted through her nose. Her mouth watered as she thought of the different flavors they could be. Maybe I could eat some before seeing Claw. Or maybe I should being one to him. They should cheer him up a but before the big surprise! Yeah!

Applebloom grabbed two chocolate cupcakes before searching for the upset colt. Hmm he isn't by the punch. Nor the cake. Or on the dance floor! Where could he... Oh there he is! She had spotted him in the back corner, just as upset as the day before.

She started to sneak up on him, which wasn't hard considering he was too bummed to pay attention to anything. This is gonna be good! When she got right up behind him, she quickly smashed one of the cupcakes into his muzzle.

"Gotcha! Ah knew that would get ya to look up!" Applebloom laughed.

"Hehe yeah I guess it did" Claw said cheerfully. Once he turned and saw Applebloom, he went back to sulking. What the hay?

"What's the big deal? Ah try to cheer ya up and ya just go back to bein' sad once ya look at me! That's the thanks ah get!"

"Sorry 'bloom. I just have a lot on my mind right now."

"Do ya want ta talk about it?"

"No... Talking to you would make it worse." What!

"How would ah make it worse?" Applebloom yelled at her friend. The colt shrunk back.

"Just forget about it Applebloom!" He shouted before running out. What did I do! I can't show him the surprise!

Now Applebloom was the one sulking in the corner. She didn't go unnoticed though.

"Hey Saddy McSadderson! Why such a long face?" Pinkie skipped over gleefully. Is she ever not happy?

"Hi Pinkie. Ah just got myself inta friend problems."

"Maybe I could help you! Tell your Auntie Pinkie Pie all about it!"

"Well..." Applebloom proceeded to tell the party pony everything that had happened.

"Wow that's a doozy! I think he wants to take it... To the next level!"

"What do ya mean 'next level'?"

"Well obviously he wants to more than just a friend! He wants to be best friends! All you have to do is spend more time with him!"

"But then ah'll have no time for hanging out with Thundercloud! Ah have ta got him ta like me if we're ever gonna be coltfriend and fillyfriend!"

"Hmm that's even more of a doozy! It hurts my brain.” The pony scrunched up her nose. “Cupcakes should make it better!" Pinkie skipped away, leaving Applebloom to find a solution. This is just great!

Applebloom moped on home. She went right on up into her room, not even sparing a glance on her family. She climbed into her bed, cocooning herself into the blanket.

“Now what has gotten inta tha` filly?” She barely heard Applejack asked Big Macintosh. Now my own family is gonna get mad at me! what else can go wrong?

Applebloom didn't move as the door opened. “Sugarcube, whats tha matter? You never go right past any o us without sayin` hi at least!” Applejack sat on the corner on the bed trying to comfort her sister.

“Its nothin! Ahm just tired, thats all!”

“Them tears say otherwise. Bloom, ya know ya can tell me anythin right?’” Applebloom looked into the older pony`s eyes and knew she trusted the mare with all of her heart.

“Oh Applejack, it was so confusing!” The now sobbing filly lept into her sister`s front legs and told her everything that had happened.

Once finished, Applejack hugged her sister and comforted her little sister until she fell asleep.

“She might have her cutie mark, but she still has a lot olearnin ta do.” The mare said before laying Applebloom down and shutting the door.
