Chapter 12

Rainbow Dash and Brandon had gone back to Rainbow Dash’s dad’s house to begin to work on the weapons project. Brandon had been up all night sketching out weapon models and schematics. He had passed out on the table where he had been working. Rainbow Dash and Dad decided to let him rest for a while, seeing that he was exhausted. In the meantime they went downstairs into the living room to talk.

“So Dashie,” said Dad, “How you been?”

“Great Dad great,” said Dash

“It’s been a while hasn’t it?” said Dad

“You bet it was,” Dash sat down on the couch with Dad

“So tell me,” said Dad, “What have you been up to?”

“Aww man Dad if only you knew,” said Rainbow Dash with enthusiasm, “The last few days have been crazy, What with The coronation of one of my best friends, along with the arrival of some new faces around Ponyville. It’s been awesome!”

Just then Twilight flew (more like crashed) in through the window, “Rainbow Dash,”

“Wait,” said Dad, “You’re friends with the princess?”

“Come on dad,” said Rainbow Dash, “I just told you I..”

“Yeah but you didn’t say it was the newly crowned princess in Equestria!” yelled Dad

“Listen!” yelled Twilight, “Rainbow, I have something very important to ask you!”

“What is it?” said Dash,

“When NightFire disappeared, did you ever stop thinking about him?” said Twilight. She remembered how Taylor mentioned that when someone disappears in a rift, most that’s remnant of their existence disappears along with them.

“NightFire?” Dad began to back up as he had just remembered a terrible memory he had forgotten.

“What are you saying?” said Dash

“Think of it. You never ever brought up NightFire until Brandon mentioned him that day.” said Twilight

“I.. I..” said Rainbow Dash. She started to realize how she practically forgot about her brother after he disappeared.

“Dash,” said Twilight, “I think I know what happened to NightFire. I believe that when he disappeared he was displaced somewhere in the universe.”

“Twilight, what are you talking about?” said Rainbow Dash

“When did NightFire Disappear?” said Twilight. She was slowly putting more pieces together. She knew that Rainbow Dash in fact did forget about NightFire. Now it was time to test another theory.

By this point Rainbow Dash was filled with anxiety. She felt like the more she thought about NightFire, the more she’d feel worse.

Dash sighed “November 13…. 2000”

Twilight looked down. She tried processing the information. Could it be? Could it have ben that NightFire was the victim of a rift in time and space?

“November 13?” said Brandon as he walked downstairs after waking up, “That’s my birthday.”

“What?” said Rainbow Dash, “ Wait a minute. You can’t be serious. The day NightFire disappeared… It was his Birthday too!”

“You’re kidding.” said Brandon

“Mom and Dad were planning a party for him that day,” said Dash, “So I took him to come hang out with me while my parents made preparations,”

“Brandon,” said Dad, “How old are you exactly?”

“Well,” said Brandon, “I’ll be turning 17 this coming November.”

“Dad,” said Rainbow, “NightFire would be turning 17 this year too!”

Everypony looked at each other awkwardly.

“Uhhhhh,” said Brandon, “I don’t know if this would help but. I was taken into the orphanage when I was 4…”

Twilight walked up to Brandon and studied him,

“Woah, Twilight,” said Brandon, “Ever heard of personal space?…..Twi?”

“Could this be?” said Twilight. All of a sudden, her eyes widened as if she were struck with an idea, “Rainbow Dash, Brandon, grab what you need and come with me.”

“What?” said Brandon, “Why?”

“We’re going to see the princesses in Canterlot.” said Twilight

“How do we plan on doing that?” said Brandon

“We’re flying,” said Twilight

“What,” Rainbow Dash was a bit surprised, “ Twilight are you sure you can fly?”

“I flew here didn’t I?” said Twilight

“You crashed here.” said Brandon

“Can we just…” Twilight spoke out in frustration. She walked up to the front door and bucked it open, “You guys coming or not?”

Rainbow Dash and Brandon looked at each other and nodded. They followed Twilight outside the window. They flew off with Twilight still trying to get used to her wings as she bobbed up and down in the sky.

Brandon laughed, “You okay?”

“What?” said Twilight, “No no. I’m fine!”

“Twilight,” said Rainbow Dash, “What up with all the NightFire questions?”

“Brandon has been going crazy to find answers about him.” said Twilight

Rainbow Dash looked at Brandon as if asking him why? Brandon sighed and decided to confess, “Okay this might sound weird, but I think NightFire’s disappearance might be linked to all the stuff that’s been going on recently. The storms, the monsters, all of that.”

“It is,” said Twilight, “I’ll explain everything later.” a look of curiosity

The sky began to clear up and there it was. Canterlot castle wasn’t too far away, and now all the questions could be answered. They began to slowly descend to the front of the castle.

As soon as they set hoof on ground, they charged the castle. They ran right in to the main room where Celestia and Luna had been.

“Twilight,” said Celestia, “What are you doing here?”

Everypony bowed. All except for Brandon again, “Yeah,” he said, “Still not bowing. But we do have something to ask princess.”

Celestia giggled, “What is it?”

Twilight stepped out, “Princess,” Twiilght couldn’t get the words out. She found it hard to explain to her her theory. She paused and looked down to think. She put the word together in her head and took a deep breath, “Princess I think…..” Twilight lost the words again.

Brandon looked her in anxiety, ‘Spit it out Twi!”

Twilight let it out, “I think Brandon and Rainbow Dash are siblings!”

Everypony froze. Brandon in most shock, “What,” he said ,”Twi. You know how ridiculous that sounds?”

Celestia analyzed them as if she were trying to see some resemblance, “And why did you come to tell me this my dear?” she said

“Because,” said Twilight, “Rainbow Dash’s brother disappeared mysteriously into another world and Brandon arrived from another world. I did some research with Hunter and Taylor and there it was. The answers were right in front of me. So many things correlated with both of these ponies.”

Brandon and Rainbow Dash looked at each other. They couldn’t really believe what was happening. Brandon hadn’t really had a family and Rainbow Dash has gone on so long without a brother that she herself couldn’t believe this possibility. They took a step further from each other awkwardly.

Celestia quit analyzing them as she was struck with an idea, “You two.” she said, “Come with me”

The two ponies followed Celestia while Twilight held back. Rainbow Dash and Brandon followed Celestia to a door with an odd Gold finish. The door had diamonds embedded in it’s rim, bringing out the shine of the finish.

“Well,” said Celestia as a smile dawned on her face, “Go in.”

“What?” said Brandon, “princess, what exactly is this for,”

Celestia giggled, “You’ll see,” she opened the door.

The two ponies stepped in as the door closed behind them. It was dark. The room was pitch black. Brandon couldn’t see an inch in front of him.

“Uhh Raz,” said Brandon, “I don’t suppose there’s a trick you got to help me see in the dark.”

The Raz didn’t answer.

Brandon asked again, “Raz?”

A blue light orb began to hover in front of them.

“Woah,” Exclaimed Rainbow Dash, “What the….”

A second light orb appeared. This one appeared to be the color red.

“This is getting weird,” said Rainbow Dash,

Brandon chuckled, “Come on Dash. You never seen two little lights floating in mid air?”

“Shut up,” said Rainbow Dash

The two orbs began to move. It was as if they were alive. They began to fight and chase each other around the two ponies as they watched. Suddenly the two orbs approached the ponies. The Red one lined up in front of Brandon and the blue one lined up in front of Rainbow Dash. They began to glow brighter and brighter as they began morphing into the form of Brandon and Rainbow Dash. The two were looking at copies of themselves standing right in front of them.

“This is,” said Rainbow Dash

“Weird,” said Brandon

The two glowing copies looked at each other and nodded. They looked back at Brandon and Rainbow Dash. Just then the two copies fused with the pegasi. Their energy blended with the two and filled them with energy. Brandon began to get another headache. Like the one he first had that day he dreamt about NightFire. The headache began to hit Rainbow Dash too. Right then Brandon felt like he was falling. He couldn’t fly, he couldn’t do anything. He just kept falling as ground began to materialize under him. In just a few seconds, he found himself resting on a bed of flowers.

“What the fuck?” said Brandon

Brandon stood up. He couldn’t really figure out where he was. He started walking in hopes of getting somewhere. He just kept walking until he began to grow tired.

“Okay fuck this!” said Brandon. He picked up his right hoof and punched himself in the face, “Wake up you piece of shit!” Brandon just kept punching himself harder and harder. He eventually stopped and dropped to the floor exhausted. But as he fell a white mare approached him. She had a white coat and golden hair. She stood in front of him looking at him with a smile. Brandon noticed her and got up.

“Uhhh,” said Brandon as he brushed himself off, “Sorry you had to see that,”

She studied him, “You are the one?”

“Yeah yeah,” said Brandon, “Elements of Chaos, Destiny, I’ve gotten this talk already.”

“No,” said the mare, “You are the one destined to destroy Gryphon the Destroyer.”

“Damn. People in this world get quick to the point,” said Brandon, “Who the fuck is Gryphon? Who are you?”

“You have met him before and you will meet him again.” said the mare, “As for me, I will see you soon as well. But for now here my advice. Find the Guardian, Find the Elements, and Destroy the Monster.”

“What the FUCK are you talking about?” yelled Brandon

“If you stick with your sister, you will make it out just fine.” said the mare

“Sister? I don’t even have parents that I fucking know about!” Brandon was already filled with too much frustration.

“Is that so?” said the mare, “Nightfire?”

“What?” Brandon looked up. He had a mix reaction to this. On one hand he couldn’t believe this at all. He couldn’t believe the possibility of him being the long lost NightFire. But at the same time, he was hoping that this was true. He didn’t really have a place to turn to ever in his life. And for the possibility of him actually having a family. That was something he could look forward to, “You’re kidding right? I can’t….”

“You are the long lost NightFire you have been hearing about.” said the mare, “When you were young, a massive storm known as The Typhoon of the Leviathan took you away into another world where you grew up.”

“You know usually in the movies some faggot would say some stupid shit like ‘This makes a lot of sense’,” said Brandon, “I’m still not seeing it.”

“You don’t have to believe me. But I assure you that what I am saying is the truth.” said the mare, “Think about it. Why else would I be here telling you this, Why else do you have occasional dreams of The Lost Pegasus, Why else would the Raz choose you?”

“Hey that’s because…..” Brandon was left speechless. He never thought about why the Raz chose him to be the wielder.

The mare spoke, “The Raz has never chosen a host. Never. It can only bond with one host for as long as it lives. It’s searched far and wide to fins the perfect host. And that host was you,”

“Why?” said Brandon

“Because,” said the mare, “You are the only the heart and soul necessary to wield it. You share the blood of your sister, which is pure and strong. This allows you to remain in control of yourself while wielding the darkness. The Raz trusts you to wield it with courage and purity.”

“You’re saying that the Raz picked me just because of my bloodline,” said Brandon, “Great! Seems to me like everything in my life is turning out because of a couple of fucking coincidences.”

“What you call coincidence. Many around you call Destiny.” said the Mare

Everything around Brandon began to fade away into black. Brandon began feeling claustrophobic as everything around him began closing in.

Brandon woke up. He still couldn’t see anything. Luckily, the door opened and light poured in. He looked to his side and saw Rainbow Dash getting up.

“Hey Dash,” said Brandon, “You’re not gonna believe this but… I just had the weirdest dream…”

Rainbow Dash ran up to Brandon and hugged him, “I missed you big brother.” she said

Celestia walked in, “I knew you were the two.”
