A mare to keep

Not to far in the future, in a time that might never be, there is a man, all alone, and a skittish, flighty pony.

Life is scarce upon my shack on a hill. Only one other soul lurks here above the toil and treacherous gargoyles that muddy the streets below. I have a routine, a schedule, that I must always adhere to. But sometimes, even when best prepared, things don't go exactly as you hope.
