Contrary to everypony else I don’t think the changelings would be crazy enough to attack us, even if they are a rare breed. Only a draconesus would be insane enough to attack the biggest city of Trotana.

I let out a groan as the first rays of sunlight hit my eyes what happened? I look around and notice we had transperce an entire building before we made a smaller hole on the one behind it and now we were unconsious laying in a back alley.

As soon as I tried to stand up a jolt of pain course throught my left hoof. I don’t think it’s broken but I think I should refrain to use this leg for a little while. I open my wings and flap them gently and was lift just above the ground.

I tried to nudge aunt Twilight awake but all I receive was a sleepy groan before she shove me away with her levitation spell. I huff as she fell right back asleep, I decide to go investigate where we are for the time being.

I flap my wings harder and flew above the building we just crash in, the first thing I check was the hole we made with the magical field. I saw that guards where at every corners of the building trying to find evidences of what happened. There a thing I noticed through every single guards who was there where earth ponies, ussually I see more pegasi and unicorns than other things in the guards.

Well it’s probably not a important detail anyway, I quickly flew higher of the building before somepony caught me. When I was finally high enough I look over the city and let a gasp, this was very different from the cities I knew back in Equestria.

Instead of dirt roads or roads made of stone the streets where made of a strange black solid rock with yellow lines draw on them. But that wasn’t the strangest thing on the said streets there was stanges vehicules with wheels that move forward without anypony pulling it! There was also the same type of carriage except they had two metalics wings on each side and flew in the sky without a single pegasus on them!

Sure we have the airships back home but it’s wasn’t as fast as these things, I’m begining to question if we are really in a alternate universe or if we travel in time. The coucil share a lot of different technologies with the different worlds, but it’s take lot more time for Equestria to have it because the magic present in our world often destroy eletric humans technology. But even if we’re more late in technology than other worlds I never heard of these flying boxes thingy before.

My ears twitch as I heard a groan coming from a opened window beside me. I was surprise when I saw a familiar faces looking back at me. Berry Punch?! How the hay did you came here?

The mare in question blink a few seconds as she saw a flying pony in front of her window. As soon as she clearly saw me she shriek at the top of her lung and threw a empty bottle of wine at me. Ahhhh! Changeling! Go away monster!

I yelp in pain when I receive the bottle in the face, Berry Punch stop this! it’s me- I was cut out in my speech when she threw another bottle, I was quick enough to escape it this time and I finally decide she became crazy and flew back down.

When I land back in the back alley most of my family had arleady woke up. Winter Song are ya alright sugarcube we heard screaming. Aunt Applejack, but before I could respond mom gasp before she was in my face.

Winter! Your have a black eye! What happened?! She ask fuming arleady about the pony who did this to me.

Well I think we’re in a alternate version of Equestria because I saw Berry Punch and she called me a changeling before she threw bottles of wine at me. Mom gasp before she grit her teeths togethet in rage. Princess Twilight prepare herself to cast a spell in case the yellow pegasus decide to beat the hay out of Berry Punch.

Mom beating somepony is a hard thing to imagine, but when me and Meek Sky are involved you’re never sure what she will do. Fortunately Twilight hadn’t to cast any spell because mom was able to calm herself. Okay I’m calm now. Everypony sigh in relief. When I will punish Berry Punch I need to have a clear mind if not it will be pointless violence. An awkward silence filled the back alley at the cold words coming from the element of kindness.

...Okay so Winter did you find anything interesting? Twilight ask braking the silence.

Well aparently we destroy a batiment and now we have the guards searching for us. My aunts and mom gasp at the new. Also we seem to be in a strange futuristic version of Equestria but I don’t know much else.

Mmm, maybe if we find a library or a computer we could find more information. Twilight said.

Wait maybe I can connect myself with my cell phone! But I’m not sure if it still intact with all the thing we’ve been through. Princess Twilight look at me eagerly as I search for it in my saddlebag finally I retrieve it, it was a small blue phone with my cutie mark on the back of it.

I tried to open it but my hooves where too big for the small device, bucking human technology! I usually have Meek Sky to do it. Aunt Twilight can you open it with your magic? I ask sheepishly.

A purple glow surounded the phone before the screen opened lighting up a good part of the back alley. Thanks. the most surprising thing was that internet was working, throught I noticed something strange with the date show on the phone. May 9 1037 A.B? What the buck does A.B mean?

Ah don’t know Winter but ah don’t think it’s matter right now, try to find something about this place. Applejack said, I nodded to her in reponse before I search for the recent news.

Whoa, aprently the night of this world is ruled by Epona.

What?! All my family cried at the same time.

Yeah but almost nopony even mention her apart from a few news since she does almost nothing for the country because of her lazyness. Well that isn’t that surprising to say at least. My eyes widden as I saw another new.

Aparently a mare called Sunset Shimmer took the throne of the day after the mysterious disparition of Celestia and Luna who vanished not long after they supported a campaign to save an endangered species of magical plants.

Sunset Shimmer!? Twilight shout in surprise.

Oh my goodness do you think she have something to do with the princesses disapearance? My mom ask.

I don’t know maybe. Twilight replied unsure.

Don’t worry sugarcube am sure we can find the princesses. We save the world more time than ah can count on mah four hooves. Applejack said confidently.

No Applejack, as much as I would want to help this alternate version of my mentor. We can’t, we have two weeks only to find a god and return home. That mean we can’t be implicated into the problems of this world. The purple Alicorn sigh sadly.

I pass on mode GPS to know a little more about our position. Aparently we are in a country called Trotana and we are curently in Everfree city. Twilight eyes sparkle at the new.

Everfee city?! As in the capitol of Equestria before Cantelot was founded!?

Not sure, we’re in a alternate reality after all , it could be another version of the place. I respond, the princess of friendship seem to deflate a little at the new but still keep a hopeful smile.

S-so Twilight? What should we do to find the guardian of this world? I mean we do have only two weeks and guardians are not the type to be found that easily in most cases. My mom ask nervousely.

I think we should find Epona, the royal family in our world have a close connection to the council that most kingdom can only dream to have, maybe they are close of the guardian here.

Why not find Sunset Shimmer? Not that I dislike Epona but she’s not really the type to help anypony except when she’s forced to by her mother. I state.

Well let just say I had a bad experience the last time with her counterpart I prefer not talk to her unless it’s necesary. Twilight replied nervousely.

Speaking of that ya never told us why you didn’t like that Sunset Shimmer, I through y’all help her to turn her back to good. Applejack scratch her chin confused.

Twilight blush and look away from us. I don’t want to talk about it. She said before she trot out of the back alley, I shrugh and decide to follow behind her. I wince as I remembered my leg but kept trotting anyway I didn’t want to slow down the mission because of a little pain.

Finally we walked in the streets of this new city, I was in awe as I saw the lighs and holograms of the stores. It’s was as is we were right into a movie of science fiction with all these new things. Unfortunately I was put out of my dreamy state when I noticed something was amiss. The entire street was deadly silent save for a few murmurs.

I look around to see dozens of earth ponies looking at us either in fear or in rage. Why does everypony scare of us suddently? First it was Berry Punch and now this. Soon something broke the silence we saw two guards flying at us, no they were not Pegasi they were flying with four strange boots who threw flammes from the base. It’s seem like jetpack but in miniature I got to admit it did look awesome.

Halt! By order of Princess Sunset Shimmer you four are under arrest for taking the form of a pony, illegally crossing Trotina border and worse of all your are accused of using magic! Why does this scene seem familiar for some reasons?

And what is wrong with using magic?! Twilight ask clearly offended that her special talent was considered illegal.

Don’t play dumb with us *changeling* everypony know magic are use by witches and evil beast who sold their soul to a draconesus!

WHAT?! Clearly you two are the most uneducated ponies I have ever seen! Magic is in every living things it’s part of us even earth ponies like you two are using magic at every second you are breathing!

The guards had enough of the Alicorn and decided to slam a hoof on the back of her head. The purple mare fell unconsious on the ground and a bruise appear on her head. I growl at them before I made explode a wave of water between the two of them.

AHHHH! As soon as they saw my elemental magic the ponies who had watched the scene all fleed screaming in panic. More guards land and encircled us they all held strange type of guns in their mouth. The guns each had large metalic cylinders attached to them. The cylinders began to spin really quickly and produce multiple sparks of electricity.

Lay on the ground immediatly all of you! Or we will not hesitate to shout! As if the elders had send some help themself, I heard screetching of wheels before a car came driving at the maximum speed. The vehicule came crashing on a few guards before it stop to a halt.

Slowly another earth pony open the door of the car, she had a cyan coat, magenta eyes and a rainbow mane and tail. Rainbow Dash?! What the hay is going on?! And where are your wings?! I shout in shock.

The mare simply look at us for a second before she open her mouth. Come with me if you want to live.

The last chapter was there to explain the goal of the charachters and this chapter is there to explain the setting of the story, next chapter will have a little more action.
