THE NEXT TIMELESS LOVE STORY
Gamma looked in the mirror. Usually, he would see a navy blue pony with a turquoise-colored mane smiling back, but this time all he could see was a similar looking stallion with a miserable look on his face. He was ashamed of how he’s been acting when it came to his new marefriend Rarity. They’ve only been going out for a few weeks now, and yet they share deep feelings for each other. Gamma has been hiding his appearance when they go out, as Gamma is well-known for avoiding unicorn mares, especially Rarity, even though she had harbored a crush on him for a long time. He remembers the first day this ‘relationship’ started.
~FLASHBACK, 1 MONTH AGO…
Gamma was walking outside, enjoying the fine weather Ponyville was experiencing. A large grin on his face could be seen by all. Then, he stopped when he saw her. Or more accurately, dat flank. Bent over in front of him was a white mare with a purple tail, who seemed to be digging into a bag to find something. Gamma spent a long time watching the flank in front of him wiggle back and forth because of its owner’s movement. After two more minutes had passed, the mare found what they were looking for, and turned around. It was a pimping top hat that was put on right away. She then flipped a switch near the brim of it with her hoof and some sweet sunglasses were slowly lowered onto her face, while the word "SWAG" shined on both sides. Gamma was amazed by how such an awesome hat could exist in this universe. She finally noticed that Gamma was alive and spoke to him.
“Why, hello darling! Would a fine stallion like you be pleased to escort a mare around town for the day?” The white mare asked him. It took Gamma awhile before he could find his voice, but he spoke up and said,
“Oh! Umm…Sure! I could do that for you, and maybe get another look at that sweet flank.” He whispered the last part as he looked down blushing.
“Excellent!”
With a pretty mare by his side, Gamma felt elevated and giddy. He’s been in Ponyville for roughly a year now, but he hasn’t really gone out to see the town much besides going to work at his job doing a radio show. It was fairly successful as a small time show done every Monday. Of course, he didn’t really do much on it, but he loved his work and it paid well, that was good for him. Gamma had some good friends on the show too, but they were far from his mind right now, as he enjoyed strutting around town with the mare, who introduced herself as Rarity. Gamma learned much about this new mare.
As their romp through Ponyville began to wind down, Gamma bumped into Rarity as her stopped in front of him, knocking her hat off.
“Let me get that for you my lady” Gamma said, trying to be a gentlecolt. He then reached down to pick it up, when he stopped and paled at seeing her without the amazing top hat on.
“Thank you darling, I wouldn’t want this to get ruined by the dirt on the ground. This is after all a prototype I was testing out today, and-“Rarity was cut off by Gamma exclaiming,
“Y-You had a horn the entire time?!”
“Of course I do darling, I am a unicorn. I suppose that you couldn’t see my beautiful horn with my Mastercraft Top Hat on!” Rarity said, before facing Gamma, who looked like he was about to explode with rage.
“Stay away from me, you stinking unicorn!” Gamma screamed, before running off, while Rarity looked crushed.

Yes, the relationship of Gamma and Rarity started off as a rocky one. Gamma knew that he was being incredibly rude by running off, and screaming about his personal hatred for unicorns, but they then met about a week later. Gamma’s mind wandered to the memory of that day roughly three weeks ago.
~GAMMA HAS ANOTHER FLASHBACK, THREE WEEKS AGO…
Gamma locked himself up in his home today. He wasn’t feeling well, and he didn’t have work. He’d told all his friends earlier to back off and to leave him alone. That was when he heard it. There was a knock on his front door. Why was someone knocking he wondered. Gamma then walked to the front door and opened it. Standing outside, he saw that unicorn mare named Rarity.
“Why did you show up here? You’re not welcome.” Gamma then began to shut the door on the mare, before she shoved her way in.
“My word, don’t you know how to treat a lady? Not even showing an ounce of proper respect for one. I’m not that surprised however. You’ve proven that you have no manners. Didn’t somepony teach you the importance of manners and resp-“Gamma cut her off in the middle of her speech.
“No.” Rarity was startled at his interruption, and was about to continue before Gamma spoke again.
“No, I never had somepony teach me values like that, and you know why? It’s because MYYY PPPARRRREEENNNTTSSS ARE DEEEEAAAADDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Rarity was shocked at this declaration, and felt guilt at what she’d just said.
“Your kind killed them! We were a simple family of acrobatic earth ponies who were just trying to get by. One night, during a performance, our fellow workers made up of unicorn rodeo clowns broke the ropes on their trapeze, and shredded the safety net. Then they approached me, Gamma Ray, age 12 and beat me up. They then left, after peeing on me, and laughing about how they killed them. At the stroke of midnight, I, Gamma Ray, now age 13, vowed to never trust a unicorn ever again. Do you see why I hate your kind? They ruined my life. Then I see a hawt mare like you, and you make me question that even more with your personality. Why? Why are you doing this to me?” It took Rarity a long time to answer Gamma, but she spoke up and said,
“I…I think it’s because we have a connection. I’m sorry that you’ve lived through such a tragic event like that, but please, let go of your hate. I don’t believe that I’m the only one who feels this way either. Besides, I’m sure that your parents wouldn’t want you to be like this.” Rarity’s words stunned Gamma. A wonderful feeling sprung up in his chest. Could this possibly be…Love? Gamma then heard “I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore” by REO Speedwagon playing in his head. It went with this moment, where Rarity quickly moved forward, and kissed Gamma on the lips. His ears popped up. Things began to get above rated “E” and that stuff’s for later, so we cut here.
~FLASHBACK ENDED
Thus began the relationship of Gamma and Rarity. The two of them felt very content and secure within their feelings for each other. However, they kept their feelings a secret from the viewing eye at Gamma’s request. He wasn’t ready for Equestria to know that he’s in love with a unicorn. So, when they go out into public, Gamma wears a disguise created by a bat-like cowl powered by Rarity’s magic. In said disguise, Gamma’s mane and coat switch colors, and his cutie mark becomes “Not Gamma”. To the public’s eye, Rarity was dating a mysterious stallion who called himself “The Goddamn Gamman”. Gamma however, has become uncomfortable with this, and wants to drop the disguises to share his love with Ponyville. He goes to meet up with Rarity at her business.
“I have a surprise for you in town, Rarity.” Gamman says to her as they leave the Carousel Boutique for their date.
“Oh my, what ever could it be Gamman?” Rarity questioned, but he refused to answer.
The two of them continued on in silence, neither wanting to make a sound. As they marched forward to Gamman’s destination, many thoughts flowed through their consciousness. Gamman felt determined to set what he believed was right. Rarity was worried about what he could have planned for them. Gamman saw said worry show on her face, and sent her a smile of reassurance to calm her down. Finally, they had reached their destination, the park, which was fairly crowded today. Toastwaffle was also there.
“Hello everypony, I must say something important.” Said Gamman
“You may all know me as “The Goddamned Gamman”, but that is not my real identity. My true name…My true name is…Gamma!” Gamma proclaimed, while taking off his cowl.
A loud, collective, gasp was heard within the park, and echoed throughout Ponyville. Everypony was shocked at this revelation. After all, who could possibly guess that the pony dating Rarity with a “Not Gamma” cutie mark was, in fact Gamma? Toastwaffle was confused.
“I admit it! I, Gamma Ray, age 20, am in love with a unicorn named Rarity! We’re going to get married!” At this declaration, Rarity began to cry tears of joy. He wanted to marry her! Rarity ran to Gamma, and kissed him. Toastwaffle and the rest of Ponyville cheered for the couple.
