Jon opened the door to his dark home slowly and walking in as if he was troubled. He moved towards his living-room turning on a lamp in the dark room, and sat down. Jon sighed as he recollected the events of the day, suddenly struck with sadness as he remembered what he did. He had left one of his best friends and Game Grumps for his own show.
"I'm sorry Arin." Jon said in a depressive tone "It's for the best..."
As he was remembering all the fun times he had with his friend when he heard the sound of beating wings. His feathered robot companion, Jacques, landed on the coffee table in front of him.
"Oh hey, Jacques." Said Jon, feeling a bit better seeing his old pal.
"Jon, we've got a bit of a problem," Jacques said "If you hear a noise don't panic."
Jon sensed urgency in his friend's voice wondering what had got him so wound up. The house seems quiet... he thought, as if right on cue he heard a sound coming from his bedroom. The sound was a mix between a torrent of rushing water and fire burning. As Jon got up to investigate the noises Jacques began to speak.
"You would be more safe if I went with you," said Jacques flying up onto Jon's shoulder.
"Yeah...Yeah alright..." Jon said with a confused tone.
When Jon walked into his dimly lit bedroom he was hit with a strange sight. In the center of his bedroom a rectangular object, moving almost in a water-like way. This is almost like the paintings from Super Mario 64, he thought. As soon as he finished that thought he suddenly was pulled towards the object. Being gripped so abruptly Jon lost his balance and fell to the floor on his back, Jacques followed. Being frozen with fear Jon couldn't even utter a sound or even move as he and Jacques were pulled towards this "portal".
"J..J..Jon, I'm s...s..sorry," Jacques said in a way that sounded like a distorted audio file.
Jon suddenly coming back to his senses screamed at the top of his lungs.
"JACQUES, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO!" he yelled.
As soon as Jon finished his sentence he and Jacques were pulled through the portal. What Jon felt was a strange sensation, every limb in his body was tingling intensely and he was hit with an intense pain. He blacked out...
Some passage of time later...
Jon gained consciousness after what seemed like many hours. It felt like every inch of his body was on fire and his joints ached. He opened his eyes abruptly and winced as his eyes adjusted to the light. After his eyes were acclimated to the light he saw himself in a dark forest. The forest was thick with vines and vegetation and it almost felt alien to him. Something else also felt alien to him, his body. As he tried to stand up Jon noticed that he felt shorter than usual and it was uncomfortable to stand up. When Jon looked down he saw that he had... hooves. Startled he lost his balance, landed on his two fore-hooves, and clumsily walked over to the puddle of water in front of him.
As Jon looked down to see his reflection he saw a foreign face staring back at him in the water. It had a round head with a small round snout, large eyes, faded orange coat, and pony-like ears. It also had a curly brown mane with brown facial hair. This thing, no, pony was him he suddenly realized. He sat back on his haunches, with so many thoughts running through his head he couldn't function properly. After several minutes Jon stood up with the best of his ability and yelled at the top of his lungs in a hoarse tone.
"OH MY GAAAAD WHAT HAPPENED?!" He yelled.
"Oh good, you're finally awake." Said a familiar robotic voice.
Jacques was flying down from the top of the treeline.
"Jacques, you've go A LOT of explaining to do!" Jon said angrily "Why am I a pony and where the hell are we?!"
"Also, why aren't you a pony?" Jon said, quizzically.
"The portal apparently didn't effect me since I'm synthetic" Said Jacques.
"Uhh, dude what the hell is that thing on your butt?" Jacques said, jokingly.
"What?" Jon said moving his head to get a good look at his backside "Heh, would you look at that!"
"I got a little dang ass Jon-Grump thing on my butt!" Jon exclaimed.
On the side of Jon's flank there was the cartoon version of his head that Arin had drawn of him as the "not so grump" at the beginning of every Game Grumps episode. He felt a pang of sadness as Jon remembered what he did earlier yesterday. If it even was yesterday, he thought to himself.
"So, Jacques, how do we get out of this forest anyways?" Jon said.
"I was looking around over the treeline" Jacques pointed to what seemed north "The way out should be that way."
"Well what are we waiting for?!" Jon yelled "Let's GO!"
As Jon headed north, with Jacques on this back they came to the edge of the forest. In the distance they see a large meadow with a cottage and a village. Jon and Jacques stand at the edge of the forest, mystified by the beauty of this strange land. Jon suddenly hears his stomach grumble hungrily
"Oh god, I forgot how hungry I was..." Jon said.
"What the hell do ponies even eat anyways?" Said Jon in a doubtful tone.
"How about we check that cottage." Said Jacques "There has to be food there."
"Good thinking." Said Jon as he begins to walk towards the cottage.

First chapter! I'm a little new to writing fan-fiction in general but I am open to criticism. The next chapter should have a lot more characters and will be longer!
