Spike asked looking at her as she turned around while stopping making a dress that she was going sell it to hoity toity from the boutique. "of course darling, what is it." "Well I was...Well I want to um...I'm just wondering if you'll...go out with me." Spike looked away while closing his eyes as rarity just stud there while unknowing to him that she's smiling. "Spike, of course I'll go out with you." This instantly shocked spike to the core. 'Wait she said yes, she said yes, SHE SAID YES!!!! He quickly turned to her, both starring in each other's eyes. Spike is leaning in to do the thing he wanted to do ever since he met her. He was so close that he could feel her breath on his face. 'Wait why is it cold?' *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Spike opened his eyes eyes only to see the ceiling of the library. He turned to see an open window that opened which was letting a breeze in. He looked out the window seeing that the sky is bright blue with no sight of clouds from what he could tell from looking through the window. He sat up rubbing his eyes, "Well that sucks, I was right about to get to the good part." Mumbling to no one. He stands up and stretches while thinking, 'you know what, I'm going to go straight to raritys and finally ask her out. Are you home, I need to ask you some thing." "hold on spike I'm coming" she said trotting to the door for a few seconds until she opened the door. "Well spike your early, it's 10:30 on the dot. your not supposed to be here until 11, any ways what is it you got to ask, I'm very busy."she s as I'd with a mixture of happy and annoyance. "W-well I want to uh...know if you'll go out with me?"He said doing the same from his dream but at the end was very shaky. A few seconds past until, "Hahahahahahahahah, well spike I guess rainbow dash was wrong, you do have a sense of humour. Now what is it really." "A-actualy it wasn't a joke, I was serious." "Oh well, I'm sorry darling but I don't like you like that, do you know how bad that would be for my reputation. I'm sorry but I have to say no. Well bye." At the end she said it quickly as she could before she slammed the door on spike. He's sitting there at the verge of tears. 'What did I do wrong, I did all I could ever do for her and its not good enough.' With that he broke down crying tuning as fast as his little legs could go to the library _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Spike! Please unlock the door, I want to help." Twilight said knocking on the door to both there rooms. "NO! I have nothing in this world to live for, rarity said no to me, after all I did for her!" Upon hearing that twilight sighed. "Spike, I know how much you liked rarity but-" "LIKED! I LOVED HER AND SHE DID THAT TO ME, ME!!!" "Spike I know how bad it hurts to have you heart broken but it's not the end of the world. There's a person for us all." "You wouldn't know twilight, you don't like any one, and I would know since I've been with you for my entire life and I have never seen you with any one besides our friends and me!" "You don't know that, I could like some one you probably were asleep when he was here or the castle." "Yah the castle, with guards that wouldn't even let me back in one time. Why would they let him in. And for here, you would be with him if you liked him and not here with me at the library!" "Fine I'll let you stay in there but you have to at least eat, so I'll bring food up for you in exchange. Ok?" "Fine. But I'm not coming out!" _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Several days have past and not even once that spike have left the room, no matter how many times twilight begged him to. And so now today is the day he's coming out but he doesn't know it yet. Spike opened his eyes to see a dark, dark world filed with misery. He sits up knowing twilight will bring him breakfast that she gives him but rarely eats. As he sat up he started looking around the room, just soaking it all in. After what seems like an hour, he still didn't hear twilight come up and knock to telling him to eat. Which he doesn't care either way but this was unlike twilight to no pester him. As he looked around the room he notices a small reflection of light bouncing off of something. Normally spike would just lay back down and try to sleep some more but this interested him. Spike got up and walks slowly to the reflection thingy and turns out its a book with medal on its cover. Of coarse it was a book why wouldn't it be, it's a freaking library. As he turned around to walk back to his basket, he accidentally hit the book with his tail. He turned around to the book while picking it up only to be shocked that this isn't a normal book, but a diary. Twilight's diary. But that's not all, when he picked it up he noticed his name being in it several times. curiosity killed the Dragon. Entry 126, June 2nd Today was normal as ever, I woke up, I ate, I read,I ate some more, then read again. But what makes this day apart from the others is that today spike ended up staying home because of rarity being in canterlot on some fashion business. when I woke up to see spike still in bed and not at rarity's, it made my heart warm up a little even though it's only because she's gone, but I don care. After I ate breakfast spike came down the stairs into the kitchen. As he did, all I could do is smile. He's so cute with is stubby little legs and his scales ever so shiny in a way that makes me smile even more. Like I said in this diary many times before, I like spike, no I love spike. I know he'll never like me the same way because of the fact that I'm like his mother in a way, but I don't care, he's who I love no matter what, but he also likes rarity too which is bad for me. After we did a couple of chores, we sat down in the living area of the library and we started to read, well I read out loud and he listened. Some how after I started reading, he ended up laying his head on my side as I read. It was so adorable and all I wanted to do is kiss him but I managed to stop myself. All good things come to an end because as we finished, it was dark out and spike was so tired afterwards and fell asleep on me but I have to lift him up and floated lime up into his bed as I stayed down stairs and kept reading on until now. So write to you tomorrow. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* All spike could do was stare at the page reading it over and over until he mesmerized it. With that he falls on is butt and stares at the wall thinking. 'So that's why she's been trying to help me, not only because I'm her friends but as she thinks of me as something more. All this time I've been going after rarity when there was someone who isn't a soulless heart breaking bitch. Twilight, I'm so sorry I never noticed it earlier.' And with that in mind he opened his door only to see twilight sleeping In front of the door. Spike leaned down and shook twilight very softly but enough to wake her. Twilight opened her eyes to see spike in front of her with a teary smile. "Twilight, do you like me?" Still with a teary smile plastered on his face. "Well of course I do, your my friend." Twilight said with a sleepy set of mind. "No I mean like like me." And with that twilight realized what he meant and started blushing so hard you'd think she'd explode. she looked down a little and made sure to not make eye contact. Spike was taking that as a yes. He put his hand under her chin to make her look at him as he slowly leaned in. Before twilight know what was going on, their lips were pressed together. To twilight, it was warm and loving, because she's been waiting for this to happen for a long time now. But for spike, it was the release of all the compassion that was trying to bubble over which he wished was with rarity. And now after all theses years of wanting rarity and it being a wast of time but now it was with twilight and he couldn't be any happier. It lasted lasted a couple minuets until spike broke the kiss and each got a well deserved breath. "I love you twilight." "I love you too spike." Author's Note Yay a short story.
