Chapter 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterRarity woke in a haze on a rough stone floor. She blinked the fog of sleep from her eyes and observed her unfamiliar surroundings. The room was dark and damp, the only light cast from above her. There was a small dim lamp suspended over her head, from a low stone ceiling. The lamp only cast enough light to illuminate a few feet in front of her, leaving the rest of the room completely engulfed in darkness with no walls in sight.
Thoughts began to form in her mind, where was she and what was she doing there? With those thoughts, pain began to flood her body. A sharp pain hit her in her horn and her ankles felt fairly sore as well. She tried to raise her hoof too nurse her horn, then realized it was shackled to the floor, with only about half a foot of slack. As she looked down, Rarity saw that all four of her hooves where shackled to either side of her. Her mind began to fill with panic.
“Is anyone there? Unchain me right now.” She began to shout, “This really hurts!
Hello? Is anyone out there? Please let me go this is very painful!"
Rarity waited a few seconds but no reply came from the shadows. Then a thought hit her.
“Pinkie Pie is this one of your practical jokes?,” she asked angrily, “if it is, this is NOT funny! You better unchain me this instant!”
A few minutes passed with still no response from the darkness. She tried to think of some explanation, some coherent thought, but her pain filled her mind, distracting her. Amidst her scattered thoughts, it occurred to her that she had forgotten all about her magic.
“What a fool,” she cursed herself under her breath.
Rarity focused her thoughts as best she could and readied herself. She tried to cast a spell to remove the chains, but instead of magic filling the air nothing happened. In frustration, she tried again, and again. Finally after giving up she rolled her eyes to the ceiling, and in horror she noticed that there was absolutely nothing where her horn should have been. It was then she noticed warm liquid trickling down her face from her forehead. She shrieked in absolute terror.
"M-m-my horn,” she stammered. “Where is my horn?,” she asked the empty air quietly. The whole situation was too much for her to handle and she began to sob, unsure of what to do. She sat on the cold stone floor crying for what seemed like an hour.
