Record was a light gray unicorn, with a black on blue mane, and a tri-spiked tail. His eyes were an elegant crimson that look ominous when in a dark room. Growing up Record didn't have many friends in school. Mostly because other fillies would make fun of him for his grades and would think he was unintelligent or because he didn't socialize enough. His grades showed that he was a "just passing" student. Record didn't care about school because he saw it as a waste of his life. He was very smart but he was just very lazy, and didn't put all of his effort out there. But there was one thing Record did pay attention to. Music. Record loved music with all of his life, it was also the only class where he would look his teach in the eyes with hope and excitement, and not an evil "I'm gonna eat your heart in your sleep" glare. A few years later he got the news that his mother and father were going to be having another filly. His parents were overjoyed when the found out they were getting another filly. It would give Record someone to play with when he would be down. Record, however, didn't like that he was going to be getting a sibling. They didn't ask how he felt when they told him the news. He even felt like they didn't care about his opinion. He simply nodded his head and went upstairs to his room. On the day of the fillies birth Record was in a major state of confusion. He didn't know why he wasn't allowed to see his mother when she was giving birth. But he didn't care until after he saw the new born filly. Resting in his mothers hooves was a beautiful white filly mare. Records mother looked at him and said calmly. "What should we call her Record." Record thought for a good ten minutes before finally coming up with a name. He took a deep breath and said slowly. "How about... Vinyl scratch?" "That sounds perfect." Said his father looking at vinyl. Years have passed since that day however. Record was glad to have a sibling, and he protected his sister with his life. Record was still young at this point and he was still a blank flank. This was probably the only thing he was upset with at the time. He tried, for weeks, on different tactics to get his cutie mark. All of which had no success. One day he eventually gave up trying and proceeded on to have a normal life. It was only about a week after that his school was going to have a talent show. Record was in the grade level to audition for the show. He figured that it was now or never, to do what he wanted and not be afraid or choke up and become the laughing stock of Manehatten. He decided he would take the chance. The next day Record walked out of the auditorium from school at exactly 3:15. The audition didn't go entirely how Record planned it, but he is in the talent show. However it was very strange. All he did was simply walk up on stage, and before he could say or do anything the teachers all looked at each other and nodded followed by: "Your in Record, good luck in the talent show next week!" Record was deeply confused, but he didn't care, he was also happy. As he walked home from school he was stopped by one 2 of his older classmates. Butcher. An average height, over weight, unicorn with a cutie mark of a switchblade. And Brace a skinny, short, dimwitted pegasus, with a cutie mark of brass knuckles. "Well well well...what do we have here?" Said butch with a wicked grin on his face. His companion spoke. "Uh...butch that's the pipsqueak in our class, record friction!" "I know that you idiot! It was called a rhetorical question!" Butcher responded. Record took a step back before speaking. He knew what was going to happen, so he stood ready. "What do you want butch?" Record was pushed back by butcher, knocking him to the ground. "Oh nothing, just thought I would say... congratulations on getting in the talent show. Oh and that's butcher to you, you little brat!" "Yeah, what he said!" Said the dimwitted sidekick. "SHUT UP BRACE! Okay look Record I'm giving you this one warning now." Butch said as he used his magic to pull out a knife. "Give us all your assets, and we won't hurt you!" Record got up. He decided enough was enough. He had been treated like a doormat for to long. "No butch!" Said Record as he stomped his hoof on the ground. Record quickly got into a fighting stance. "I won't take this shit anymore from you!" "Aww, look at the little pony trying to defend himself!" said butch before breaking out into a maniacal laughter. "I gave you a choice record...now it's time to pay!" Butch charged at record full speed. Record dodged the attack thrown at him. Butch hit a brick wall nearby, and staggered as he got back to his hooves. Butch charged back swinging the knife in all directions, Record dodged most of them but those that did hit didn't didn't draw blood it only left a small scratch where it hit. Record the turned around and bucked Butch right in the face. Blood came dripping out of Butchers muzzle, and two of his teeth fell out. Brace came to Butches aid by lunging at Record. It was little hope as Record, having a huge adrenaline rush, caught brace in a magic field. Brace couldn't move. Record was done with games, he slowly began to slowly compress the field smaller, and smaller. Brace cried and begged for mercy as he heard a slight crunch noise. Brace continued to pleaded, cried, and shouted for mercy as record held him there pressing his bones in. But Record couldn't go through with it. He dispelled the magic field and Brace fell to the ground, Butch ran over next to him. Brace was breathing heavily, tears were flowing down his face. He took a few deep breathes before finally saying what sounded like "thank you record." and passing out. Butch picked up brace and put him on his back. "Let's get out of here, this kids a pysco!" Said butch as he galloped off. Record was shocked at the power he had. He knelt down and said to himself. "I have all this power inside me that I never knew...and I was going to use it to kill somepony. I'm...I'm a monster!" Record sat in guilt and depression for a while before getting up and going home. He knew he would be in trouble, not only for staying out late but also for what he almost did to Brace. As Record walked up to his house he stood for a moment on the steps, let out a big breathe of air, opened the front door, and walked inside. Chapter 2: This is who I amChapter 2 This is who I am Record walked into his house not knowing what to expect. He was assuming that his parents were already informed of the incident, and were waiting to punish him as soon as he walked in. He was mentally preparing himself for being shout at, 10 year groundings, and worse of all...beatings. But when he walked in he didn't see his parents anywhere. He went to check the kitchen. Empty. He checked the living room. Empty. He even check his parents bedroom. Empty. Not a living soul was in the house except for Record. He went back downstairs to see if they had left a note or something. Record walked into the dining room, only to find a neatly folded sheet of parchment paper weighed down by his mothers turquoise vase. He removed the letter from under the vase, unfolded it, and began to read. Dear Record, Your father, sister, and I are going grocery shopping. We should be back roughly about 5 o'clock. Your free to make yourself a snack while you wait, but the garage is off limit for a surprise. With Love, Mom Record sighed in relief knowing that his family was alright. He was also glad that they didn't know what he did. But what was in the garage? Questions were racing through is head. What is in there? Why doesn't mom and dad want me to see? Why would they even tell me? Sure enough curiosity got the best of him. He stood in front of the door to the garage. He twisted the doorknob. "Locked." Record said to himself. In all his life the only doors that his parents ever locked were the front and back doors. Why lock this one? He tried to use his magic to pick the lock on it, but the knob had a barrier enchantment that kept his magic from opening the door. Minutes passed and eventually he gave up trying to open the door. What was in there that his parents didn't want him to see to go as far as enchanting the doorknob? He decided he would ask when his parents got home. He went upstairs and began thinking of what he wanted to do for the talent show. At first he put on music and started dancing, that was a fail being as how he couldn't keep his balance. Then he tried playing guitar, he eventually ended up breaking all of the strings. He then decided to use a last resort of dubstep beatboxing. This was probably the only thing he could do that was decent. He decided that this is what he would do for the talent show. He quickly got good at this skill, with the beat, the wobble effect, and even dropping the bass. Record family walked in after an hour of him practicing. Almost instantly he heard his mother yell for him. "Record, could you come down here please!" Records heart dropped, he knew why he was being called down. He was going to be punished for what he did, he knew that it was to easy to slide from something like this. His ears dropped and and his head looked at the floor as he slowly walked downstairs. He walked into the dining room where his mother and father were sitting, and he sat down. His mother was the first to speak "Record...do you know why we called you?" Record simply nodded with his head still down. "I'm sorry mom I did-" Record was stopped by his father. "W-wait sorry? Sorry for what son?" Record looked up. By what his father said he knew they weren't told of almost killing brace. "I-I'm sorry for...trying to open the garage when you said not too." Record said with a calm frown. He didn't like to lie but he didn't want to get in trouble, so he decided to keep this a secret. His father looked at him with an upset expression, but turned it into a smug grin. "Okay we'll talk to you about that later. But do you know why we called you down here?" Said his father. "No I don't." Said Record shaking his head. His mother immediately responded. "It's because we were told that you got into the talent show...and we were working on something for you for your birthday, but I guess we can give it to you early." "Give me what?" Record asked in confusion. His father went upstairs into the master bedroom. Only a minute later did his father come down levitating a key. He laid the key down on the table. It was a bright gold, with a silver engraving on it, and it glowed a light blue color. Record immediately knew what the key went to. He took the key and went to the garage door. He put the key into the lock, and twisted the key. A blue spark was emitted from the key hole as soon as the door was unlocked. Record just narrowed it down to the barrier dispelling. He was anxious to see what was behind the door. His heart raced, his breathing was heavy, his hooves trembled in excitement. He turned the knob and opened the door. He was hit by the smell of paint and wood. His jaw dropped by what he saw in from of him. Laying on his fathers workbench, was a homemade turntable set. On the side was an engraving that said the most heartwarming he had ever seen. Record you're going to do great things in this world son. We love you. From Mom, Dad, and Vinyl. He turned to see his family in the door way. He smiled and ran toward them hugging all of them. "Thank you." Said Record. He was speechless. He took the turntables up to his room and hooked them up. He got his favorite record from the closet and put it on. He slowly slide the record across the needle and made a perfect music scratch sound. It just felt right to him. He went faster and faster with the record, and in minutes he noticed he was making perfect dubstep. This is what he loved. This was all he ever wanted. This is who he was. Record had a tear run down his face in happiness, and said to himself. "This is who I am." Chapter 3: The surprise of a lifetimeChapter 3 The surprise of a lifetime One week after Record had gotten his turntable set, the talent show had come. It was a lot sooner than he had expected, but yet again he was using the set nonstop so time did fly pretty fast for him. Record didn't sleep, eat, or even go to school because he was practicing so much. He would just lay in bed and act like he was sick. It was really convincing too. Record was always a great actor, and silver tongue but he would never his gift to get his way or force anypony to do something. The night of the of the talent show was scary for Record. He had mixed emotions of fear and joy as the whole auditorium was being filled. Easily over seven hundred ponies were seated and another two hundred were standing off to the side and still counting. "Why are there so many ponies here it's just a talent show for students...unless...unless there's something more to it." Record said to himself. Why were there so many ponies here? Record was nervous as he went backstage and made sure his turntables were working properly. Then one of the judges came backstage and made everypony gather into a circle around him. "Okay everypony, listen up! This is going to be the biggest talent show ever. Princess Celestia is going to be watching tonights performance so try your hardest and remember to not give up until its over...good luck everypony!" The judge turned around and went to go sit down in the judges panel. Now Record was even more scared than before. He was already nervous with a crowd of over one thousand ponies, but now Princess Celestia was going to be watching as well. Records stomach began to cringe, and he felt like he was going to be sick. Record now had irony mixed with his emotions and started shuttering. "If I screw this up, I'll never hear the end of it." Record said to himself. He stood next to his turntables going over everything one last time. "Let's see...new needles? Check. Favorite records? Check. Amplifier? Check. And dub pads? Check. Okay I'm all set...I hope." Record paced back and forth until he heard the voice of one of the judges. He listened closely as to what he said. "Welcome mares and gentlecolts. Today is the 52nd annual manehatten school talent show." The crowd cheered in an excited uproar. "But this is no ordinary talent show. Today as a very special guest will be watching the show. Please welcome the graceful, majestic, Princess Celestia!" Princess Celestia stepped into the auditorium immediately after those words. Everypony went wild at the sight of the princess. Her manes continuously flowing colors were just as beautiful as ever. She took a seat in the front row next to the judging panel. "Also, winner of this years talent show will win 5,000 bits, as where second place will win a day with the Princess herself. Let the talent show BEGIN!" The judge got off stage, sat in his seat and called out the first performer. Record was last in line to preform but time seemed to fly by too fast. What felt like 5 minutes to Record was 30 minutes in reality. One of Record competitors walked up to him. He was an average height dark blue pegasus with a long, silver mane and short tail. "Hi Record, good luck in the talent show!" Said the pony. Record nodded and replied back. "Thank you...I wish you best of luck too Cyber." Both of the ponies smiled at each other. "Next up we have Cyber preforming magic tricks." Said one of the judges. "Oh no that's my cue. Wish me luck!" Said Cyber before leaving with a smile. Record didn't know if he actually made a friend or not. He was stumped between a friend or just a friendly competitor wishing Record his best. Record took a look at what Cyber was doing out on stage. It seemed Cyber was doing professional parlor magic tricks. Record thought he was just summoning it with magic but remembered that Cyber was a pegasus. In one clean, fluid motion he made a piece of paper turn into a cardboard box, then made over a dozen birds appear in the box. If Cyber was a unicorn he would have been skeptical. But how Cyber was able to do those tricks for being a pegasus left Record dumbfounded. Before Record knew it Cyber was finished, and only 2 more ponies were left before it was Records turn. Records stomach cringed again. How was he going to match with Cyber? Record was think long and hard and couldn't think of any idea. Record spoke to himself "What will be a groundbreaking experience they won't soon forget?" "Thank you dear...and last but not least... Record preforming a song of his own composition with his turntables." "OH NO. HAVE I BEEN THINKING THAT LONG?" Record quietly shouted to himself. This was it. The moment he was worried about. Now it's time he makes a name for himself. Record levitated the turntables, and his two favorite records and slowly walked out on stage. The crowd cheered as he walked out and became quiet as he set up his turntables. This was it, no turning back. Record turned on his turntables, and began to play the two records. The song started slow but started picking up. Princess Celestia raised an eyebrow looking at Record. He took notice of this and started to sweat. The bass drop finally came and Record preformed the drop just the way he had done in practice. Celestia still wasn't impressed as she started to yawn. Record felt like he failed already. The song began to slow down after 4 minutes into it. He knew this part and it was the worst part of it all. He was about to become a laughing stock. Until he put his hoof on the record and slid it across the needle, making a distinct scratch noise. Now Celestia seemed impressed. She turned her head back to Record. He had a great idea on how to recover. He started to play back the song, which sounded surprisingly good. Then he replayed the bass drop. But this time he started scratching along with the beat, and soon the bass slowed down...but Record didn't want to. He started scratching the record back and forth slowly, and he began to pick up speed. He started going faster, and faster. The sound was like a Blackhawk helicopter taking flight. Record couldn't control his hooves anymore. It soon became a natural movement. Everypony in the auditorium was mesmerized at the speed and sound. Soon the records started heating up. Record couldn't slow down, it was beginning to hurt his hooves. Then it happened. With the constant rubbing between the needles and the records in one place, the friction between the two caused the plastic to heat up and catch on fire. The last note played. Record dropped to the floor, his breathing was erratic, his face was red, and his hooves look worn down. Ponies raced to his side while others put out the fire. Record felt a slight tingling sensation on his flank. He thought it was someponies hoof bumping into him. But this didn't feel like somepony bumping into him, this felt different. He turned to see what the sensation was, a small light was illuminating on his flank. Then the light disappeared, what was left shocked everypony. He had finally gotten his cutie mark. It was a platinum vintage record on fire. Record was amazed, he finally did it. After years of trying he finally got his cutie mark. "Record...are you okay?" Said his mother. Record simply nodded and got up, he had a slight headache, but that was the least of his worries. He went to look at his turntables but sure enough the fire melted the majority of them. The only things left were the metal stand, half of the dubpad, and a needle. How that part survived the fire Record will never know. Finally one of the judges spoke up. "Okay everypony, back to your seats! Record go backstage with the rest I the competitors while we make out decisions." Record did just as he was told an went backstage. He looked back and saw Princess Celestia looking at him with a smile. Record smiled back and proceeded backstage. As Record went backstage he was greeted by Cyber. Record wasn't sure if he screwed up or won the show. Either way it was one or the other. Over fifteen minutes later, the judges enter the backstage area. One if them speaks up. "We are ready for you now, please come on stage." The ponies did just that and all went out on stage. The crowd was silent. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. However all eyes were fixed on Record, and no pony else. The judges hesitated for a minute before calling out the top 4 winners. "In fourth place we have the very young and talented Derpy Hooves for her performance of a perfect demonstration of her basketball skills." She was given the bronze ribbon. Derpy was so excited she decided to throw one last ball. Somehow she missed the hoop and the ball came back and hit her hard enough to make her fall and hit the back of her head on the floor. She was fine all except that now she was cross eyed. "Derpy, are you okay?" Said one of the judges. Derpy responded immediately. "I just don't know what went wrong." She was rushed to the doctors shortly after that. "Right then, in third place is Lyra Heartstring with her magnificent performance on her harp." Lyra was jumping with joy when they announced her name. They gave her a silver ribbon and new book. Then the judges looked at each other for a moment. "We are going to try something new...could all of the following ponies please proceed off stage." They started calling ponies off, one-by-one they all left the stage they knew they lost. One pony walked off literally crying a waterfall. Only two ponies were left on stage, Record and Cyber. A silence fell upon the auditorium. All eyes were now fixed on the 2 ponies. The pressure was on, the tension was now thicker than before, they could feel the heartbeat of everypony in the auditorium. All of the judges looked at Princess Celestia. She had no show of emotion in her face, she simply nodded her head and said one word. "Now!" The judge nodded and looked back at the two. "The winner of the 52nd annual manehatten talent show, 5,000 bits, and first place trophy goes too..." Everyponies hearts were racing. It was now, the moment they've all been waiting for. "CYBER!" Everypony cheered aloud with happiness. Record was disappointed. But he was glad he got 2nd and he felt like he made his first real friend. He shook hooves with Cyber, and nodded at each other. Record was given a blue ribbon and a golden ticket. Record read the ticket with the black lettering on it. This ticket hereby states, that the owner of it has been permitted to spend one full day with the royal Princess Celestia of the owners choosing. This ticket will not expire and is good for only one use. Record looked happy when he read those words. It was almost as if Celestia wanted him to win. He looked up to see Celestia smiling at him and she winked at him. He smiled back and was greeted by his parents and sister. "Bruber, did you win?" Asked Vinyl. "Yes Vinyl, I did!" Said Record. His parents looked at him confused. He got second place. "Record, you didn't win sweetie." Said his mother. "Yes I did mom. I made a real friend for once, and with this ticket I get to spend on full day with Princess Celestia. Now tell me, does that not sound like a win?" Records mom just looked at him with a blank expression. They trotted, out of the auditorium on there way home when Records dad spoke up. "Well that talent show sure was suspenseful, it was the surprise of a lifetime in the end." Record nodded in agreement with his dad. Record unlocked the door and walked inside. He went upstairs to his room and put the ticket and ribbon into a box. He laid down on his bed and started to drift off to sleep. Record thought to himself then realized something. Who was that strange silver pony that nopony else seemed to see backstage? Chapter 4: A friend in need...Chapter 4 A friend in need... 10 years have passed since the day of the talent show. Record friction was now a full grown seventeen year old colt, who now lived out on his own. His mane and tail were longer, and his coat was a darker shade of gray than it was, but it was still light grey. Record had made a name for himself when it came to music. He had gotten a few gigs to preform with his new turntable set at a local nightclub down the street from his house. But it wasn't just manehatten he was noticed in, soon everypony in equestria started hearing about Records music. Record had also made a few friends but he had never had a marefriend before, but he didn't care at least he had friends and he should be grateful for that. Records violence has also gotten more intense. He still got into a couple of fights from time-to-time but it was nothing he couldn't handle, after all he had to learn self defense to live in his area. One day Record decided to take a walk down his street. It was a beautiful mid-autumn evening, the air was cool and crisp, the trees blowed with the wind, Record felt calm, collected, and at peace. The sun was beginning to set for the day, he decided to continue walking until the moon had fully risen. Until he had an unsettling feeling in his gut. He had the feeling of turning around and going down to the bad side of town. He didn't know why because he had always stayed away from there, but this time he felt like he needed to go there. Sure enough he turned around and started heading toward the bad side of town; or as most ponies liked to call it "The Black Snake turf" because it was run by The Black Snakes, a ruthless gang of well armed ponies who know nothing about resistance and mercy. Why did Record have the urge to come down here? He walked cautiously on the sidewalk careful not attract any attention. That's when he heard it. "Somepony, please help me!" Said the voice of a mare. Record heard the cry and quickly galloped to where her sound. Again he heard a blood curdling scream for help. Within seconds he arrived at the area of where he heard the scream. It was down an alley way. "Buck...this always seems to happen. Whether it be in movies, or stories, whenever there's a scream for help in a gang area, it's always down an alley way." Record shook his head and went down the alley. What he saw around the corner shocked him. 3 Black Snakes were mugging what looked like a 14 or 15 year old mare. All of the ponies were unicorns. Two of the thugs were wearing masks while the other one was holding a knife up to the mare wearing only a jacket. "What did I just tell you would happen if you tried to call for help bitch?" Said the pony with the knife. He made her look him in the eyes as he started to smile and laugh uncontrollably. "I said that we were gonna have our way with you...DIDN'T I?" The mare started to cry. This was enough for Record, he stepped out from around the corner. "Leave her alone!" Said Record with a slight growl in his voice. "Oh boys look what we have here. A wanna be hero...wait! I've seen you before kid. Yea, your that nightclub DJ, Record Friction aren't you? Well let me tell you what hotshot, around here I don't take shit from no pony. We could kill you where you stand right now. BUT... Since I like your music... I'm gonna make you a deal. You leave and forget everything you saw just now and let us get back to business, or we'll kill you!" Record just stood there with a face of hatred and disgust. What he was actually doing, however, was observing his surroundings. He was looking for anything he could get his hooves on to fight the 3 thugs. He finally noticed a glass bottle and a wooden stick on the side of the building to his left. He quickly got an idea. Record let out a smile and was biting his tongue at the same time. A huge portion of his tongue was sticking out of his mouth. "No, I'm gonna stand and fight." Said Record. "Then at least put that stupid tongue back in your mouth before I cut it off!" Said the pony with the knife. Record immediately responded. "That's not what your mother said last night." The ponies facial expressions dropped. The leader punched the hostage mare in the face, knocking her to the ground. "I'll get to you in a second sweetie. First it's time to deal with this little shit. GET HIM FELLAS!" All the ponies rushed Record. The leader was slashing at him and Record was dodging the blade. He side stepped, and ducked through all the attacks thrown at him. The masked ponies got around behind Record and bucked him, knocking him straight down in front of the leader. The leader picked him up with telekinesis, and threw Record over toward where they were standing. He laid there motionless in front of the young mare. He looked up to see her with a bruise on her face and blood coming out of her lip. She let out a single tear. Record knew what she was thinking. She thought that somepony was going to save her and get her out of this nightmare. Record knew what he had to do. He wasn't going to just sit there and have these thugs do everything unimaginable to this young mare. Record slowly got up, and knelt next to the pony. He saw the sadness in her eyes. He knew the second he was finished with these jerks we would have to get her to safety. He let out a single tear, Record never cried before but why now? He whispered into her ear three small words. "I...won't...lose." With that Record stood up and turned to the ponies. "You just won't give up will you?" Said one of the masked ponies. "Not until I win." Record spits a little bit of blood out of his mouth. "Let's go!" Record charge at the three ponies. All of them tried to get out of the way, but the leader was hit head on and sent flying into the side of a building. Record was on top of him, the two were fighting hoof-to-hoof. Record was pounding at the leaders face, blood started gushing, his face was becoming bruised, and the ground was becoming a dark ominous crimson as Record kept punching the pony. The masked ponies pulled Record off of him and started whaling at his face. Record felt a surge of pain when they hit him directly in the jaw. He thought they might have broken it with how much pain he was in. Record decided he had to finish this. He used a repulse spell knocking the two ponies off of him and sending them hurdling into the wall. Record got up and walked over to the leader and knelt down beside him. "Listen to me and listen good... Butcher! If you so much as lay hoof again on another pony, then I won't hesitate to kill you. I thought you learned your lesson going against me 10 years ago. I didn't realize who you were until I saw that knife up close and personal. It's reasons like this that brace died last year in the gang turf war. Remember?" Record stood up avoiding eye contact. That's when Butcher spoke. "Record? Don't leave... me here to die! Please..." Record bowed his head with his back turned. "I'm not that kind of pony Butch... I wont finish you off. If your friends here really care about you, then when they wake up they'll take you to a hospital. If not then I just hope celestia let's you see brace one last time." Record looked at Butch one last time before walking over to aid the mare. He could see she was given an extremely hard blow to the face because she was still out cold. Record put the mare on his back and began galloping off to his house. Record arrived home after several minutes. He opened the door and went upstairs to his room and set the mare down gently in his bed. He went into his bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet. He got out a few cotton ball, some bandages, and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Record started applying the peroxide onto the cotton balls, and that's when the mare woke up. "GHAA, what's going on? Who are you? Where am I?" Said the mare. She was very afraid by what had happened. "Calm down! Your safe now. I helped you from those thugs back in the alley. The names Record by the way, Record Friction and your in my house." Record let out a smile. The mare was very beautiful in the light in Records opinion. Her coat glowed a magnificent light blue and her purple mane complimented her coat even more. She had beautiful ocean blue eyes that seemed to make Record smile every time he looked into them. Her cutie mark was also adorable for it was a simple thought clouds with Z's inside of it. Record wondered what her special talent could be but he just set that aside for now and went back to talking to the mare. She spoke suddenly. "O-oh w-well I'm Sleepy." "Oh well okay I'll just get out of you m-" Record was cut off by the mare. "No I mean that my name... Sleepy Zee. But everypony just calls me Zee." Record look at the mare embarrassed. "Oh I'm sorry." "It's okay Record." Zee smiled at him. Record loved her smile, he couldn't help but smile back. "So... Um w-would you like anything to drink?" Record asked with a smile still on his face. "Just some water would be fine." Said Zee. She had a little bit of nervousness in her voice, but Record didn't react to it. Record nodded and went downstairs into the kitchen. Zee just sat there in the bed waiting for Record to come back. She glanced around the room until she saw something that caught her eye: a small box underneath the bed. She looked out the door to see if Record was coming yet. He was still downstairs. She leaned over and picked up the box. She was hesitant to open because she didn't know who Record was or what he had in this box. She wanted closure on what was in the box so she opened it. There wants much inside the box except for a few photos, a blue ribbon, a small book, and a golden ticket. Zee didn't pay attention to the ticket but instead picked up the pictures. She looked through and saw a few with Record as a filly. He was smiling and playing with a younger mare than he was. Zee went on to the next picture, again was Record and the filly but they seemed older and at someponies birthday. She went on to another picture this one again had Record and the filly but they were with to grown ponies, they all looked happy together in front of a museum. Zee smiled at the picture. "I remember that day..." Zee was startled. Record was standing right beside her the whole time, she didn't even notice he had walked in. "R-Record! I-I...didn't know but-" She was cut off by Record. "It's fine, I'm not mad Zee." Record smiled at her. Zee paused for a long time before speaking again. "Record? Who are these ponies in the pictures?" Record was happy she asked that question. "They're my family. That filly next to me is my sister, Vinyl, and those two ponies behind us are my mom and dad." Zee smiled as she put the photos back in the box, but Record stopped her. "Wait! What's this?" He said as he picked up the ticket. His jaw dropped. "What is it?" Zee asked confused. "It's a ticket that allows me to spend one day with Princess Celestia." He smiled widely. "I thought I lost this thing years ago but... But you found it." "Oh, so your going to go aren't you?" Zee asked looking down. "Not without you. You found this so I feel it's only right to allow you to come too." Zee looked up at him surprised. She just met him an he was already treating her like a best friend. "Really? You'd take me with you?" "Of course I'll also let my sister and my friend Cyber tag along. Make it a fun day with the Princess as friends." Zee was skeptical about what Record just said. Did he honestly think Princess Celestia would just let anypony walk in for no reason. She didn't want to say anything though. Everything was just going by so fast. Why is this happening this fast? She simply nodded and laid down. Record didn't want to say anything so he slept on his couch letting Zee take his bed. "There's something different about this mare. I can't put my hoof on it but there's just something that makes me feel different." Record whispered to himself. He just brushed off his thoughts and tried to go to sleep, but he couldn't. He just sat there awake. How was he not wore out from the fight? He forced himself to try and go to sleep. Soon he felt dreary, and smiled as he drifted off into sleep. He spoke one last sentence before falling into the deep sleep. "A friend in need... Is a friend indeed." Author's Note Chapter 4 will probably be the fastest chapter in the story so please no hate Chapter 5: The beginning of the endChapter 5 The beginning of the end Record woke up on his couch the next morning. He had awoken with a splitting headache and a sharp pain in his side. He really wasn't use to sleeping on his worn down leather couch. He got off the couch and went into the kitchen, hoping some food would do him good. He grabbed an orange from the fruit basket and began peeling it with his magic. He took a bite and started humming his favorite dubstep tune. Record had an uneasy feeling in his his gut, as if something was going to happen. He just brushed off this feeling and continued to eat. After about fifteen minutes Record heard stepping above his head. "Ah she's awake. I hope she's feeling better than me." Record chuckled quietly and got another orange off of the counter and began peeling that one too. He looked down the hall from the kitchen doorway to see Zee turn from the steps, into the hall, and walk toward the kitchen. Record was thinking of saying a smart remark but kept it to himself. "Good morning Record, how did you sleep?" Said Zee as she was browsing through Records cabinets looking for something to eat. Record quickly responded. "I slept like a rock." Record laughed. "How about you? How did you sleep?" "I slept good, I'm still a little sore from yesterday though." "Come here! Let me take a look!" Said Record with a smile. Zee nodded her head and sat down next to Record. Record looked closely at her. There was a cut on her lip, and a faint hoof shaped bruise on her cheek. He also noticed a few more bruises on her sides. "Well?" "Your fine Zee. Just some bruising and a cut on your lip. But other than that there doesn't seem to be anything to bad." Zee smiled and sighed. "Thank you Record." "Think nothing of it!" Zee walked over to the counter and grabbed a fire apple. She then walked back over to Record and took a bite of it. She finished chewing and finally spoke. "So, we're going to visit the princess today. Have you told anyone else about it?" Record simply nodded with a smile. "Yeah; my friend cyber, my sister vinyl, my mom, and my dad." "Okay!" They both nodded and finished eating. Record still had that feeling but this time he took it in. Why was he feeling this way? Could it have something to do with Zee, or was it something else. Record decided to just hold in this feeling and not let anything ruin it. Record gathered up some of his items and put them into his satchel. "You ready to go Zee?" Asked Record. Zee shook her head. "No, I'm not." Record looked at her confused and frustrated. He was wondering why she hadn't gotten anything ready. Then Record looked at her with a dumbfounded expression. "OH RIGHT! You still need to get your things...wait! Where DO you live Zee?" "I live on the south side of manehatten. Near the city limits." "Okay we'll stop off there then we'll head off to the train station. Sound good?" Zee nodded her head and smiled. Record felt selfish. He had completely forgotten about Zee's needs, and was completely focused on his own goals. Records excitement had gotten the better of him. After a few minutes Record and Zee left to go to Zee's house. Record put his key into the lock, twisted it, and locked the door. Zee and Record talked on the way to her house so they could get to know each other better. They found out that they actually have more in common then they thought. They reached Zee's house after several minutes. Time seemed to fly by fast as they talked. Record stopped and looked at the outside of Zee's house. It was a fairly large house. The walls we're blue and the porch and rails were a dull white. "You have a very beautiful house Zee." Said Record. He was impressed by her design choice. "Thanks, I repainted everything myself a few months ago." Zee said with a smile. "Impressive, I love the shade." Zee tried to hold back from smiling but couldn't. She opened the door and took a deep breath. She turned around to look at Record. "Well come on in!" Said Zee. They both laughed as Record walked through the door. Records jaw dropped by what he saw. The inside was built exactly like his; as he walked in there was a hallway with a staircase to the left leading to the upper floor, the entrance to the dining room on the right and at the end of the hall way the entrance to the kitchen. However there was a door to the left at the end of the staircase. "Wow, it looks a lot like my house." Record chuckled. Zee nodded as she went upstairs to her bedroom. "I'm going to get a few things. Feel free to look around." Record nodded and smiled as Zee went upstairs. When he heard her bedroom door open and close he turned his attention to the door at the end of the stairs. Curiosity got the best of him. He walked up and put his hoof on the door. He took a deep breath and turned the knob. When he opened the door it was completely different from what he had expected. Inside was a grandfather clock with 2 chairs and a couch. There were also several filing cabinets and framed documents on the wall. Record walked up to one of the documents and began reading it. This document is rewarded to Sleepy Zee from the Canterlot University of Health and Medical studies. This degree entitles Sleepy Zee as a full doctor in field of Sleep Therapy. Record backed up and thought for a minute. "Wow, I had no idea..." "That I was a doctor." Said Zee. Record was so startled he lost his balance and fell over on his side. Zee giggles and helped Record back up on his hooves. "Yeah." "Yep I graduated from the university after I got my cutie mark, but I wanted to learn more so... I stayed until I got the doctors degree." "Wow amazing." Zee turned away as she started blushing. "Thanks Record, you're to kind." "So are you ready to go now?" Asked Record. Zee nodded showing him the satchel on her back. "Well alright then, let's go!" The both smiled and walked out the door. Zee almost had forgot to lock her door until Record reminded her. She ran back, locked the door, and ran back next to Record's side. After a 5 hour train ride they both arrive in Canterlot. Waiting for them just outside the train station was Cyber, Vinyl, and Record's Mom and Dad. They all smiled and walked up to Record and Zee. "Hey big brother." Said Vinyl as she gave Record a hug. Record smiles and hugged her back. "Hey sis it's been a long time." "Hey son, who's this your, mare friend?" Asked Records dad. Record and Zee looked at each other blushing and embarrassed. "No dad, this is Zee and she's just a friend of mine!" "That's what I said when my dad met your mother." Record looked down embarrassed. He was blushing so bad his face was fire red. "Stop embarrassing Record!" Said his Mom. Records dad nodded and didn't say another word. Record walked up to his mother and hugged her after greeting her. Finally Record turned his attention to Cyber. He smiled and walked up to him. "What's up bro?" Asked Record. "Nothing much man. Long time no see." "I know bro." Vinyl looked at both of them. Finally she spoke. "Are we going to the castle or not?" "Oh right." Said Record. He pulled out the ticket from his satchel with his magic and sighed in relief. They all smiled and went on their way to the castle. They were all amazed by what they saw at the grand entrance. The size of the castle, the colors, and the architecture astonished every single one of them. They began to walk up the front doors but were stopped by 2 guards with spears. "Halt!" Said one of the guards. "No pony can pass this point without a form of notice from one of the princesses." Record nodded, pulled out his ticket and gave it to the guard. "Here you go." Said Record with a smug grin on his face. The guard read the note thoroughly and began to nod. "Very well sir you and your party may enter. But keep your hooves to yourselves!" Said the guard as he gave Record his ticket back. They all smiled as the guards moved their spears out of the way of the door. Record opened the door and his expression change from excited to heart stoppingly amazed. Everything he saw was just astronomical to him. Another party had walked past them all while on their way in, the other party was walking out. Record looked back to look at them. They were all mares; 2 unicorns, 2 earth ponies, and 2 pegasi. One of the unicorns were purple with a star cutie mark, while the other was white with 3 diamonds for a cutie mark. One of the earth ponies were orange with apples for a cutie mark, and the other was pink with party balloons for a cutie mark. And finally one of the pegasi was a cyan color with a rainbow mane and tail, while the other was yellow with a set of butterflies as a cutie mark. For some reason Record thought as if there was something special about them. But they just looked like any other everyday ponies. He shook his head and continued to walk with his party. After looking around they finally arrived into the throne room to see Princess Celestia sitting on her throne. They all walk up as she raises an eyebrow at them. "Hello, what business do you have with me here?" Asked the Princess with a forceful tone. Record again pulled out the ticket and he showed it to the princess. Celestia took the ticket and began reading. Her facial expression dropped. She suddenly recognized who Record was from all those years ago. She recuperated herself and let out a smile. "Well it's been a long time my little pony." She stood up and started walking toward them from her throne. Record and everypony else knelt down as she was in front of them. "Your highness, it's an honor to meet you again." Said Record with fear and happiness in his voice. Celestia smiled and nodded. All of the ponies stood back up. "Well you couldn't have come at a better time." Said the princess. All of the ponies looked up confused. "What do you mean?" Asked Cyber. Princess Celestia sighed. "There is a war going on as we speak. It's not here in Equestria, but it's in another part of the world." All the ponies stopped breathing for a moment. "Wait! Who is the war against? Asked Zee. "The changlings and the dark crystal army have joined forces and..." Celestia paused for a minute as she took a deep breath. "They're pushing forward toward Equestria, getting closer everyday." Vinyl started shifting her body in nervousness. "But why would th-" Record was cut off from speaking by Princess Luna who came running in. "Sister, sister?" Yelled Luna as she ran up next to them. "They're outside the castle walls" everypony looked at each other worried. "Quick everypony, get into the-" Celestia gets interrupted as the front doors get bashed open and the 2 guards get flung across the room. "WHAT THE HELL?" Shouted Record. He turned to look at where the door was to see an army of changlings and pitch black crystal ponies at the doorway. A pitch black alicorn with a red mane and tail then walked up. He had a smug look on his face. He then spoke with a deep but nasally voice. "This is going to be way to easy." Said the alicorn. He stomped and all of his soldiers got into a fighting stance. "Let this be the beginning of the end." He let out and evil laugh and he nodded his head. Chapter 6: The Prophecy ForetoldChapter 6 The prophecy foretold The alicorn let out an evil laugh and nodded his head. In that instant the changelings and crystal ponies stormed inside the castle. Celestia stood in front of the other ponies and conjured a protective barrier that divide the entrance from the throne room. Celestia turned and spoke to the ponies. "It will hold, but not for long. You all must get out of here!" Everypony except for Record nodded. He wasn't about to let this pony get away with taking over the castle. "Princess... Let me fight!" Princess Celestia stared at him with a stern and serious look. "No, it's to dangerous my sister and I can take them on. Now leave there's a secret passage out of the castle through my chambers." Record didn't move. His mind was racing with thoughts. Why was this happening? Why couldn't he fight to defend his homeland? Who was this alicorn? "Do you honestly think that a puny magical barrier can stop my army?" Said the alicorn. His horn glowed an ominous crimson. Again he let out another evil laugh. A sudden flash emitted from his horn and when the light cleared the barrier was dispelled. "No! How can...that's not possible!" Yelled the princess. She tried to conjure another barrier, but her horn wouldn't even release a spark. "My magic? It's been silenced." The alicorn began walking toward them. "Right you are princess." Suddenly the changelings started swarming around all the ponies. Many of the guards came to their aid, but there was very little success. The guards fell one-by-one as they attacked the swarm. The changelings drained all happiness from the guards and lost any hope to continue. Record was amazed by their speed and teamwork. He never saw anypony go this fast, not even butcher and his goons moved this fast when fighting. All of the guards were inside the castle, trying to push back the swarm. The guards started to take down more and more changelings, but it was little success. For ever changeling fell ten guards had already fallen. All of the ponies were now huddled by Celestia and Luna. Cyber suddenly got off his hooves and started flapping his wings. As he hovered above the ground he was taking notice of his surroundings. He had gotten an idea. "Record, I'm going to distract them. Stop that pony!" Said Cyber. Record nodded in agreement to his plan. Cyber punched three of the changelings in the face an took off at full speed. All of the changeling started chasing after Cyber. Record turned and looked at the alicorn. There was anger in both of their faces. "You little shits. No matter, I'll make your deaths quick and clean." Record started walking toward the pony. Record was right in his face at the same eye level. Record smirked and chuckled. "Little shit? Your no taller than I am bitch." The alicorn didn't like that at all. In a flash the black pony punched Record in the face knocking him back. "You do not know who your fucking dealing with you piece of shit." Record stood up staggering back. His eyes now filled with hatred. He lunged forward hitting the pony square in the jaw, making the pony fly back about five feet. The alicorn just stood back up as if nothing happened. "I'm not going to lie that hurt just a little bit. But it won't do you any good." The alicorn's horn began glowing again. Record started to panic. What was he to do, he had never fought with or against magic before. But he had to defend himself against whatever the pony was going to do. Record concentrated hard and his horn glowed navy blue. "Ah so you can use magic...I was starting to think this would be to easy." Said the alicorn. Record shuddered but took a deep breath an looked the pony in the eyes. "I'm not going to lose..." Said Record with determination in his eyes. "We'll see about that." The alicorn looked at Record with an evil grin and without hesitation the pony shot a black orb at Record. Record closed his eyes because he didn't know what to do. This was the end he thought to himself. A sudden cloud of smoke appeared, rumbling was felt all throughout the castle, granite and stone was heard falling... The orb had made a direct impact with Record. The black pony gave an evil smirk. "That was way to easy. I should have just told him stand still, it wouldn't have to have been as painful." He turned to look at Celestia and the others. Vinyl had tears in her eyes and was on the verge of crying. But then they all heard a moan from behind the alicorn. The smoke and dust cleared and a large, deep blue bubble was surrounding Record. Record was on his knees, his breathing was fast paced and he was shaking. "I won't...give up..." Said Record as he stood up. "I won't give up." The black alicorns expression changed. "Your a tough one..." As soon as the alicorn said that, the crystal ponies started casting spells at Records bubble trying to dispel it. Record started screaming. The sound of the impacts of the spells hitting against the barrier made a high pitch noise, that was to painful for Record to endure any longer. He dispelled the barrier himself. His breathing became faster than it was before. He had never used this much energy in his life at once. The crystal ponies started walking toward him at a slow zombie-like pace. He was cornered on all sides. Record closed his eyes again waiting for his fate to be sealed...but felt a strong gust pass by him. He turned around and looked up to see Cyber hovering just above them all. He then stormed down and moved Record out of the way. Record looked behind him to see all of the changeling crash into the black crystal ponies. Record couldn't help but laugh. Cyber dropped Record in front of the alicorn. "You're finished!" Said Record. "Finished? You're kidding right?" The alicorn sighed. "You know what I'm gonna do you a favor, and probably make this a little less pathetic on your sorry ass, and I'm not going to use my magic." Record couldn't help but chuckle. "Works for me." Record charged at the alicorn, he was directly in front of him. When suddenly he vanished. Record looked frantically for the pony. He was no where to be found. Suddenly, Record felt three sudden surges through his body at once; one in the back of his neck, one on his loin, and one on the hock of his leg. Record fell over paralyzed. The only thing he could move were his eyes and they were pointed directly at Vinyl, Zee, and his parents. The black pony walked from behind Record and they both looked each other in the eyes. "Hmm...I guess you get a front row seat then. Don't worry you'll be the last volunteer, and I'll even perform on stage." The pony smirked and walked toward the others. Everything started to become a haze and Record had passed out. A few short minutes later Record woke up to the sound of a mare screaming. He opened his eyes but yet he still couldn't move his body. He saw Zee and Vinyl cowering and in tears. Record was in shock and not moving a muscle, she only had enough energy to let out that last scream. What Record saw next, he understood why his mother screamed like she did. What he saw was his father. Blood was dripping from his chest and he was in mid-air only begin supported by the alicorns horn. Records father coughed blood and started bleeding faster. The black pony simply smirked and threw Records father to the ground. In one last breath Record and his father looked each other in the eyes. Records father smiled. "Record, I...love...y-you..." In that very second his father had died. Record had tears in his eyes. He looked back at the alicorn who was in his mothers face. Her breathing was fast and heavy. The pony smiled and looked her in the eyes. "BOO" said the alicorn. Records mother couldn't take it anymore. Her age as well as all of the stress didn't help. She fell over on to her side and died if a heart attack. "Well now I didn't even have to get my hooves dirty for that one." The pony started laughing maniacally. That was enough. Record had been pushed over the edge. He stood up slowly as the color in his eyes faded away. His mane and tail grew longer and became silver. His grey coat became white, and his horn glowed blue again except the aura around it was longer and much more focused. "You killed my mom and dad...I'LL KILL YOU!" Shouted Record as he ran toward the alicorn. Record readied his hoof to make impact with the ponies face. The alicorn just smirked and stood there. BOOM. The alicorn was sent flying and hit the wall. The black pony stood up stumbling. "Where did you get so much power all of a sudden?" Record didn't answer. Blinded by fury he started hitting him repeatedly. Blood started flying and repainting the walls into a dark red. Record didn't hesitate and he threw him across the room and suddenly dead silence. Record shook his head and his coat turn back to a light gray. His mane and tail hair reseated back to its original length. The color returned to his eyes, mane, and tail as well. Record fell over and passed out. He heard a lot of commotion and screaming but he couldn't see anything. After a few minutes of screaming he finally heard Celestias voice. "Sister this is it...what happened today is exactly as the prophecy had foretold so long ago." "What do you mean 'The Prophecy'?" Asked Zee. "In time My Little Pony...in due time. First we must attend to Record. Sister get him to first-aid." "Of course sister." Said Luna. Record could feel his body being lifted off of the ground. What was going on? Nothing was making sense. Record couldn't hold on any longer and he passed out again without another word. Chapter 7: Lost in the LightChapter 7 Lost in the light Record woke up several days later. He awoke with ears ringing, his head throbbing, and his vision was so blurry he could barely see his hoof in front of his face. "W-where am I?" Asked Record softly. He rubbed his eyes and his vision started becoming clear. He was on a twin sized bed in a small white room. There was a dresser to the right of him and on top of it laid his travel bag. Record slowly sat up and started rubbing his head. He looked to the other side of him and there was a granite counter with a sink and white cabinets. Record looked down and he saw that he was in a hospital gown. "Hello? Zee? Vinyl?" Record called out. There was no response. He slowly turned to get off of the bed, only to be stopped by a sharp pain in his side. Record fell back holding his. He screamed in agonizing pain at the top of his lungs. He moved the gown slowly and cringed as he moved any muscle in his side. He finally saw what was causing him so much pain. On the side of the barrel of his torso was a long set of stitches and a dip in the side of his body. Records eyes grew wide and he moved his hoof over the dip in his side. Record knew what the dip was, one of his ribs were broken and missing. He sat up cringing in pain on the threat of tears. But then he remembered Zee. He got off of the bed, using nearly all of his strength. He went to stand but fell over onto the floor. He moaned and cringed in agonizing pain. Again he went to stand up. He started limping to the door. The pain felt like somepony had taken a super heated metal rod and placed it on his side and left it there to make his skin melt away. He opened the door and stepped out into the empty hall. All of the other infirmary rooms were empty and the only sounds in the hall were Records hoof steps and what sounded like a fly. Record continued limping through the hallway looking for the way back to the main hall, or at least somepony else. As he kept going he felt as if something was wrong, like something was missing. He thought about it for a minute but nothing came to mind. He carried on his way. After several minutes he finally made it to the main entrance. The building was in critical condition. A lot of the marble columns on either side of the hall were destroyed. Chunks of stone and tile laid all across the ground like shells on an ocean floor. And huge hole in the ceiling of the castle made itself know as the sunlight irradiated down to the middle of the room. Record suddenly turned his attention to the sound of hoof steps not far away. "Hello?" Spoke Record softly. The steps paused for a moment but then the pace increased and came closer to him. Finally the source of the sound made itself known. From around the corner came Sleepy Zee with a small bandage on her cheek. When Record and Zee made eye contact neither of them spoke. A weak smile came upon both of their faces after a minute. Record slowly walked up to Zee slowly. Finally Zee broke the silence. "Record..." She spoke softly. "H-how does it feel?" Record smiled and chuckled softly. "It hurts...a lot." Said Record trying to laugh the pain away. Zee didn't have the same optimism Record had at the moment. "How long was I out?" Asked Record with fear in his voice. "Four days." "F-four days?" Records eyes opened wide at the sound of that. "Where's vinyl and cyber? Who was that alicorn? Wha-" Record was cut off by Zee. "I think you'll want to hear it from the princess first." Zees put her head down sadly and proceeded around the same corner she came in. Record followed her. They both entered the main throne room. This room had the worst if the beatings. Most of the windows were shattered, one of the doors were hanging on by one rivet in the hinge. All the walls and ceiling were broken if not cracked in one way or another. I looked almost as if the apocalypse had taken place, but yet again it almost did. Standing in the center of the room was Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. They both looked around looking examining everything. Celestia looked down with much sadness. "Everything we worked so hard to build...destroyed in minutes." She said. "I know your sorrow sister." Said Luna with a tear in her eye. They both looked over to Record and Celestia forced a smile onto her face. They both walked over to Record and Celestia spoke with a low toned voice. "You're awake." Celestia said still smiling. Record responded slowly. "Y-yes princess...your highness...who was that alicorn who attacked canterlot?" Celestia looked down slowly an she took a deep breath. "We don't know his true name, but as the prophecy says his name is 'Zero'." Record looked up at her with confusion in his eyes. "Zero? What kind of name is that?" "He is actually the embodiment of evil Record." Said Luna with fear in her eyes. "How so?" Both of the princesses sighed and looked down. They both walked up to each other and their horns began to glow. As their horns touched a beam of light shined down on the floor. The radius of the beam increased and a small pool with an orange glow around the margin of it. Record looked into the pool and what he saw frightened him. There he was walking in the middle of ponyville, but it was different. No pony was on the streets and no birds chirped happily in the trees. Instead there was nothing but ash and soot in the air. The trees were dead and the buildings were in ruins. The scene faded and what he saw was worse that the last. Everypony in all of equestria were in chains. Not one of them had a smile in their face. They all worked endlessly as slaves. He saw them farming, mining, producing coal, and all things industrial. Again the scene faded one last time. He then saw the canterlot castle. All the beautiful colors of the castle walls had been repainted to black. The beautiful garden had been turned into a slave feeding hall. Lastly the throne room was what sent a cold, bone rattling, chill down Records spine. There siting in the throne...was Zero. He had a maniacal grin on his face that could unnerve anypony. In his hooves he held two chains, one of them was attached to Princess Celeatia while the other was attached to Princess Luna. Record was unable to control himself as he was forced down onto a stone block by some changelings in front of Zero. He struggled frantically to break free, but nothing worked. A black crystal pony wearing a mask had walked up next to Record wielding a giant axe. Record couldn't move and he just laid his head on the stone block paralyses by fear. The pony lifted the axe high above his head. Record felt a tear run down his cheek as he took one last look at the princesses. He looked back up at the pony as the axe came storming down. Record pulled his head out of the pool gasping for air. He had just witnessed the most traumatizing nightmare if his life. Still shaking Record sat down. Zee walked over to him and rubbed his mane with her hooves calming him down slowly. "W-what was that?" Asked Record slowly. "That was the prophecy, Record. It is said that the one pony who is seen fit by the royal family is able to remove the source of power by the unholy one." "W-wait you're saying...I'm the one?" Princess Luna nodded at Records question. Record slumped over and began crying from the stress that was suddenly placed upon him. "I know this is a lot to take in all at once Record." Said Princess Celestia. "But we know how to defeat Zero." Record looked up, his eyes red and puffy from crying. "How? How do I do it? How can I do it? There's no way somepony like me can face that monstrosity." Celestia looked down as Record said that. "Do you not remember what happened before you woke up?" She spoke. Record looked down trying to remember what had happened. He couldn't remember anything about the incident. Record shook his head and looked down. "Sorry I don't remember anything." "Well before you fainted you had a sudden burst of power that overwhelmed you and you defeated Zero. That is how you're going to be able to defeat him." Record looked down. "How did I get the power?" Asked Record. Celestia took a step back as if she was hoping he wouldn't ask that question. "Record...there is something you must know." Said Zee slowly. Records heart started racing. "Your mother and father...are dead." Said Celestia. Records heart had literally skipped a beat when he heard those last two word. Record had begun to cry again...until he remembered Vinyl. "Vinyl?! Where's my sister?" Record sprung up looking around for her. Luna then spoke calmly. "Zero and his goons had taken her hostage not long after you passed out Record." Record tried to think of what had happened then he remembered something. He had remembered hearing screaming when he was on the verge of passing out. "S-so my sister...is now his bitch?" Spike Record firmly looking Celestia in the eye. Celestia didn't say a word and she just looked out a window and sighed. Record shook his head and paced in the main throne room. "You said you knew how to defeat him...is that true?" Asked Zee. "It certainly is." Said Celestia as she lifted her head. "It's his wings." Record looked at her as if he thought she was telling a joke. "His wings? HIS WINGS? Are you...freaking insane?" Shouted Record. Celestia looked at him then continued. "His wings aren't normal...didn't you see how they were formed?" Record tried to remember what Zero looked like then remembered his wings. They both looked as if they were magically embedded and built into his body. The wings looked almost of that as a robotic owls wing. 'What did that have to do with his power?' Record thought to himself. Luna then began speaking. "All we know is that his wings can only be destroyed one way. But unfortunately we do not know how." Record seemed to be lost in questions. "Do you know anypony who might be able to help?" Asked Record as politely as he could and Celestia nodded. "Indeed I do...to the south of canterlot there is a small town called ponyville. There you will find two ponies named Nightstory and Darzell. They may know more of this alicorn but I cannot promise you that. Darzel will be leaving town soon so you may wish to find him first." Said Celestia happily. Record looked down and nodded. "Thank you princess. I will make haste to ponyville quickly." Right as Record said that Cyber walked through the main entrance doors. "Hey Record, I'm so glad to see you're up." Said Cyber. "Thanks man, great to see you're alive." Said Record. Cyber chuckled and turned his attention back to the princesses. "Princess Celestia I did as you requested and hired the best construction ponies in all of equestria." "Thank you Cyber." Said Celestia. "Now we can restore Canterlot castle." "Absolutely your highness. Is there anything else you wish for me to do?" "Yes." Said Luna. "Go with Record to ponyville and track down the two ponies names Darzell and Nightstory!" "Yes your highnesses. Are you ready Record?" "Y-yeah I'm ready to go." Said Record with a short smile on his face. Record honestly had no idea what he was going to do. His sister has been kidnapped, his parents are dead, he's being told to go on quests, he must stop an impending doom from destroying everything that the world worked so hard to build up from a pony who's only weakness is undiscovered. Record is lost in the lights of confusion. He goes to walk out the main entrance to the castle and slowly turns his head and looks behind him. Zee and Cyber are standing behind him. He smiles and takes a deep breath. "We're here for you Record." Said Zee. Record blushes slightly and nods. He walks out of the castle with his head high into the sunlight of the cool autumn day. He knows what he must do. "Well...onward to ponyville." Said Record as they all trotted off toward the train yard. Record remembered the happiness of his parents and he looked down at the ground as tears hit the soft soil and replayed a mental thought in his head over and over again saying only 'I will avenge you both.' Record smiled and looked at his best friends as they proceeded onwards to their destination of ponyville, and none of them could be happier. Chapter 8:Residents of PonyvilleChapter 8 Residents of Ponyville Record, Zee, and Cyber arrived in Ponyville later that evening. All three of them were tired from the train ride, which took longer then they had expected. They all checked into a motel for the night. Record paid for two rooms, one for him and Cyber and the other for Zee. Record wobbled tiredly to his room. When he walked in, he flopped onto the bed and let out a big breath of air and Cyber did the same. Zee walked into the room to tell them goodnight but both had already fallen asleep. She smiled, closed the door behind her, and went to her room. The next morning Record woke up to a low buzzing sound. The sound drifted over his face, paused, then moved again toward his right ear. He popped open one eye and glared in disgust at a parasprite. The bug fluttered over and landed on the tip of his nose. He swatted it away, and when it took shelter on his pillow, he smacked his hoof down to crush it, but missed. Record grumbled obscenities under his breath. Flapping it's tiny wings, the parasprite buzzed over to Cyber's bed and landed on Cyber's forehead. After a moment of hesitation, he crept over to his bed. He raised his hoof slowly, giving the bug one last chance to move. "Don't think I won't do it." He whispered. The parasprite only responded by laughing at him. Record brought his hoof down fast and hard. The slapping sound his hoof made when it hit Cyber's skin echoed throughout the room but was shortly cover by a loud yelp from Cyber, who sat up quickly. "DUDE!" "There was a parasprite." Cyber rubbed his forehead, snarling in disgust. "Well, did you at least kill it?" "I think so." Said Record with a smile. He stretched tiredly. He turned to the door and walked out and the parasprite buzzed by his head and Record cursed under his breath again. As he walked out he was greeted by the sound of chirping birds. He smiled widely and took in a deep breath of air on the cool pre-winter morning. The sunlight shone down on him as snow began to gently fall and melt as the flakes touched the ground. There was another noise behind him on the building. He turned around and Zees door opened slowly. His smile grew bigger as he saw the beautiful blue mare walk out. "Good morning Record." Said Zee tiredly. Without hesitation Record responded. "Good morning Zee, how'd you sleep?" "I slept good." Said Zee as she yawned. "That's good." Record smiled and looked into her eyes. Zees eyes glistened in the sunlight and her purple mane had a beautiful shine to it. Record couldn't help but blush when he looked at her and he turned his head away trying to hide it. Cyber walked out right as Record was about to speak. Good timing too Record had always had trouble talking to mares other than his mother or sister. "So where are these colts anyway?" Asked Cyber. Records expression went from a blushing smile to a normal grin at his question. "Well Princess Celestia said they we're here in ponyville." "That doesn't really help that much." Said Zee. "No, but we can ask around town for the two. What did the princess say their names were again?" Cyber responded immediately to the question. "Darzell and Nightstory." "Darzell and Nightstory huh? Alright let's go ahead and start asking around town." Said Record still grinning. They all walked along the trail to the center of town. The party came to a halt as they walked up to the town hall. Mayor mare was walking out of the town hall as they walked up. Record knew she could help. "E-excuse me?" Said Record. "Oh hello there. I don't believe I've seen you around here before." "No ma'am we just got into town last night. I'm Record Friction...and these are my friends Cyber and Sleepy Zee." "D-did you just say y-you were R-R-Record F-Friction?" Asked the mayor as her jaw dropped. "Yes..." Record raised an eyebrow and turned his head as she asked that. "Oh my goodness don't tell anypony but I am a huge fan of your music." She said being jittery with the smile of a filly in a candy store with 20 bits. "Oh, well thank you." Record smiled as he said those words. He cleared his throat to speak again, taking a second attempt at his introduction. "I'm Record Friction and these are my friends, Cyber Wolf and Sleepy Zee." Cyber and Zee smiled at Mayor Mare which was shortly followed by a "Hello" from each of them. The mayor did the same. "So, what brings you three to our small city if I may ask?" She said. "We're actually looking for two ponies by the request of Princess Celestia." Record said with a grin. "Their names are Darzell and Nightstory." Mayor Mare put her hoof up to her chin in thought. A long minute of silence passed. The only sounds that could be heard were ponies talking at a distance, birds singing as if being orchestrated, and the sound of running water to the south flowing freely. Finally the silence was broken when the mayor spoke. "I'm sorry, I don't know anypony by those names. However you're more than welcome to take a look at the 'Residential Occupants of Ponyville'. It's a book at the public library of all of the current living residents here. However it's restricted to public eyes, I'll have to write you a referal." "It's okay, we can wait." Record said happily. "Very well then, I'll go ahead and write you a referal. It should take no more than 5 minutes." She said with a smile. Mayor mare walked back into the building. Record, Cyber, and Zee waited patiently outside for her to return and again the silence returned. The mayor walked back out again exactly 5 minutes later with a pink slip of parchment. She seemed exhausted, Record narrowed it down to her working so hard and getting very little sleep due to her job. He felt selfish for making her work like that, but if he wanted to find Darzell or Nightstory this was the only way. "Here you are Mr. Friction." Said the mayor as she gave Record the slip of paper. "Now I do hope you find who you're looking for." "Thank you ma'am. Have a great day now." Record said bowing his head. The others bowed their head in gratitude. "I wish the same to you as well." Said Cyber. "As do I." Said Zee. They all smiled and the mayor replied with a grin. "Thank you, and you three have a wonderful day as well." They all walked off; Record, Cyber, and Zee in one direction and Mayor Mare in the opposite direction. The grouped walked for about fifteen minutes. Records and Zees hooves started becoming tired but as Cyber was flying everywhere looking for the library. They probably should have asked where the library was and what it looked like. Finally they came up to a pony. The pony was a mare with an orange coat and blonde hair, wearing a big brown hat and her cutie mark was three red apples. Record suddenly remembered something. This was the same mare he saw just before Zero attacked. His mind started racing with questions. Who is she? Why is she here? Why was she at the castle? Record also needed to find a way to the library. He figured she was a local so she might know where to go. Record began walking up to her when he looked back at Cyber. Cybers jaw fell ajar and his gaze fixed the orange mare, he seemed to be in a trance. Record shruged and walked up to her. "Hello." Said Record politely. "I'm Record Friction and I-" Record was cut off when he felt a firm grip on his hoof that was suddenly being heavily shake. "Hey there Mr. Friction, Ah'm Applejack nice to meet ya." She said, letting go of Records hoof. Records hoof was numb but he just punched the air to get blood circulation flowing again and smiled at her. "Nice to meet you too Applejack. These are my friends, Cyber and Zee." Applejack looked at both of them and smiled. He walked up to Zee first and shook hooves with her and they both, friendly but formally, introduced themselves. Finally Applejack walked up to Cyber who was in a cold sweat. His legs shook nervously, his eyes were blinking quickly and he was taking short quick breaths. Applejack giggled at him and smiled. "Nervous partner?" She said. "N-n-nervous? I-I'm not nervous...its j-just uhh...really cold out here y-yeah that's it." He said looking to his left and right. Applejack smirked at him. "Is that so? Well my name's Applejack nice to meet ya." She said holding out her hoof. Cyber reached out and shook her hoof slowly. "I'm C-C-C-C-Cy-Cyber W-Wolf." He said with tension in his voice. "Cyber Wolf? That's a nice name ya got." Cyber blushed and turned away trying to hide it. Record smiled, he knew what Cyber was feeling. "So what brings y'all to Ponyville?" "We came by the request of Princess Celestia in search of two colt to stop an impending devastation." Said Record. "English please!" Exclaimed Applejack. "P-Princess Celestia told us to find two colts here in Ponyville. The mayor already told us to look at a book of everypony living here and she said it was in the library, but we're having trouble finding it. C-could you help us Applejack?" Asked Cyber, finally able to collect himself. Applejack smiled at Cyber. "'Ah sure can. Now what ya do is go down this street till ya see a giant oak tree with windows and a door. That oak tree is the library and it's also my friend, Twilights, home. If ya see her there tell her 'ah said 'Hi' would ya." "Of course, thanks the help Applejack." Said Record. "No problem at all, now 'ah really need to get back to my farm and get to work." She said with a smile. "A farm?" They all asked at the same time. "Yeah, I run Sweet Apple Acres with my brother and my Granny. Its not easy but we get by everyday with the money we make." Cyber bit his bottom lip and looked down in thought then he looked back up. "Would you like some help on the farm?" Asked Cyber. Applejack smiled at Cyber. "That'd be great, you wouldn't mind would ya?" "Not at all." Cyber smiled widely at Applejack as he looked her in the eyes. "Well thank ya, y'all can tag along too if y'all want." Record shook his head and looked down. "Sorry but I have to find these colts." "Well that's alright y'all come by whenever y'all want though Sweet Apple Acres is open for anypony." "Thanks Applejack, c'mon Zee let's find the library." As they said that Cyber walked with Applejack to her farm while Record and Zee walked in the path Applejack told them. Record and Zee walked for a good minute before they found the oak tree Applejack was talking about. They both trotted up to the door. Record used his magic and held the door open for Zee. She walked in smiling and Record walked in behind her. As they walked in there were many ponies browsing books. But what caught his eye were two colts over in the corner looking at what looked like horror genre books. One of the colts were a light gray unicorn, almost like Record but a little darker. His mane and tail were sloppy as if he was insane, or just woke up from a slumber. Record chose the latter. His mane and tail was also gray with random dark streaks. But what really got his attention was the colts cutie mark. It was a simple everyday quill. But why a quill? Maybe he was a good writer Record thought. But this colt lacked any trace of color on him and that's what drew Records attention to him. The second colt seemed strange though. He was a rich yellow pegasus with wigs unlike any other. His wing were almost like giant hands. Record tried to picture where those wings looked familiar from, but then it hit him. Growing up Record always enjoyed the Ponymon comic books. His favorite edition was the book 'The summon of Lugia'. That's what this colts wings were, they were lugias wings. But how he got them was far beyond his comprehention. The colts mane color was an ocean blue with a streak of sky blue down the side of it. His tail was the same. Lastly, his cutie mark was of a beautiful rose on top of a red flame. Record didn't know what drew his attention to these two but something about them seemed important. Record looked to his left to see a lavender unicorn standing to his side. Records heart skipped a beat at the sudden shock of her being there. The purple mare looked at him worried and spoke slowly. "Oh I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to say hello." Said the mare. "My name is Twilight Sparkle." Zee smiled at Record and spoke heartly. "What's wrong Record? Scared? Shy?" She said playfully. "Hey it was just unexpected is all." Said Record chuckling. "Anyway nice to meet you Twilight I'm Record Friction. I was in search of a book that might be restricted." "Of course, do you have a referal from somepony of high authority?" "Yes he does." Said Zee who pulled the slip out of her satchel. "It fell out of your satchel when we were looking for this place, you really need to tighten the strap." She said as she gave Record the slip of paper. Twilight took the referal and read it very carefully, signature and everything. "Alright, this checks out okay. So the book on current residents living here, yes I know where that is one second please." She said as she upstairs to the second floor. Record and Zee waited paitiently for twilight to return. As they waited for twilight to return the ponies standing in the corner walk over to them. Record turned his head and looked at them both. They both had a smile on their face as they looked at Record. Record smiled back and looked at them. "Hello?" said Record. "Hi." said the gray pony. "Um...can I help you two?" "We wanted to ask you something." Said the yellow pony. Record stood in front of Zee and took a calm defensive position and looked at them. "Go ahead!" "Are you the one who's asking around about Darzell and Nightstory?" Asked the gray pony. "Yeah, who's asking?" The gray pony slowly extended his hoof as did the yellow pony. Both had a huge smile on their face. "I'm Nightstory." Said the gray pony. "Darzellflameus...but you can just call me Darze or Darzell." Record smiled widely when he met them. Finally this wild goose chase was over and now he could tell them everything. But something felt off. Twilight came back worried and looked around frantically. Everypony looked at twilight as she slowly began to speak. "ALL...T-THE DARK M-MAGIC SPELL BOOKS...HAVE BEEN STOLEN." Everypony instantly started to worry even Record. Who could have done this? But the real question was why? Record turned to Nightstory and Darzell. "Follow me, I'll tell you everything on the way." Said Record quickly as he walked out the door. The others followed behind Record quickly all scared from what Twilight said. "Okay everypony...here's what's going on." Chapter 9: The VisionsChapter 9 The Visions Record had just finished explaining what happened 5 days ago back at Canterlot Castle when they arrived at a large stone house. Darzell had been leading the way as Record spoke about every last detail of what he had seen and heard; The fight against Zero, the signs of an ancient phrophecy occuring, and everything else that happened up to the point of when they all met. Nightstory had a surprised look on his face, as if he knew what Record was talking about. They all walked into the house to be greeted with the smell of tea. The source came from the living room, a tea pot suspended over a fire in a fireplace screamed loudly as they opened the door. Nightstory walked over to it and picked the teapot up with his magic. "Record? Zee? Would you like some tea?" Asked Nightstory as he flipped his mane out of his eyes. His voice was was calm and fluid as he spoke, the pitch of his voice however was that of any other colt. Record and Zee shook their head, neither of them were hungry nor thirsty from the day they've had. Nightstory nodded his head and poured two cups of tea for himself and Darzell. Record and Zee looked around the beautiful interior architechture of the house. The house's walls were made of stone and cement. The exterior corners of the walls were stone columns, which really complimented the house. The floor was made of glossy, hard oak wood. A staircase led to the upper floor which Record though it led to either the bedrooms or perhaps a study hall. The house went quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of the roasting fire. A few minutes passed as they heard the Snap, Crackle, and Pop of the fire. Finally the silence was broken when Darze spoke. "So Zero, you said?" He asked. His voice was fairly deep and fluid, much like Nightstory's voice. "Yes." Record replied. "Zero is in Equestria." "So its true. That means...all hope could be lost." Said Nightstory. Record looked up shocked at his words. 'All hope could be lost.' Those words spun through his head. But Record then realized one key word. 'Could' meaning a chance. Record looked back up at Nightstory. "Wait a minute. You said all hope COULD be lost...what do you mean by could?" The house grew silent again, Darze and Nightstory had a grin on their face. "Come we'll show you." Said Darze. Both Nightstory and Darze stood up as they finished their tea. The best friends looked at each and went into the kitchen, Zee and Record followed. When Record walked in Nightstory and Darze were standing in front of an old wooden door. Nothing really seemed interesting about the door other than that it was very out of date, it almost looked like one from medieval times. Darze walked up and turned the knob slowly. Records heart started beating fast. His body flooded with anxiety as the old door opened. He adjusted his stance, standing closer to Zee, as his anxiety slowly took over his body. Darze opened the door; inside was a huge selection of spices and canned foods, it was a pantry. Record expression went from an anxious smile to a gloomy frown. Record turned around to leave the room when suddenly he heard a loud band behind him. He looked back to see Darze had slammed the door. "Did you just-" Record was cut off when Darze slammed the door again, this time louder. The bang echoed throught the house producing a ringing noise in everyones ears. Record fell to his knees covering his ears. He could never stand high pitch noises which is why he became a DJ and never had any treble in his music. BANG! The door slammed one last time before a bright green light shone from underneath the door. Nightstory grinned and slowly opened the door as the light began to fade. What Record and Zee saw made their jaws drop. The entire pantry had been changed into a stone stairwell. The walls were made of dark brown cobblestone, in between the cobble ridges were small hairs of moss. A single lit torch hung on the wall creating a bright light in the darkness. "Ladies and guests first." Said Darze as Nightstory took the torch off the wall. They all proceeded down the stairwell, into the darkness. The only light came from the torch that Nightstory held with his magic. As they decended, Zee accidently missed a step and she fell. But just before she hit the floor Darze caught her with his wings and picked her back up with a smile. "You okay?" Asked Darze. "Y-yeah thanks, Darzell." "No problem, Sleepy." "Oh uh you two can just call me Zee if you want." Both Darze and Nightstory nodded and everypony continued walking down. They all finally arrived at the end of the staircase, which led into a large room. The room was made out of the same material as the staircase. In the center was a bright blue pool that was swriling clockwise into a cyclone. All round the room were pillars that looked as if they were holding up the ceiling. Record and Zee walked up to the pool and gazed into it. Their eyes were transfixed on the pool and their eyes grew in amazement. "Its called the Ever-Seeing pool." Said Nightstory as he put the torch on one of the pillars. As Nightstory walked away from the torch all of the torches on the other erupted into a flame illuminating the whole room. "The Ever-Seeing pool?" Asked Record. "Yes, it allows whoever uses its powers to see whatever they wish, whether it be the true future or to relive a happy moment in their life or even to witness their own sick or beautiful fantasies." Said Nightstory. "All you have to do is dip your head into the pool and while everything in there makes it seem like a long time, out here its really fast. I think for every ten minutes in there its equal to a second out here, however every hour in there is equal to a minute out here. Its a weird conversition thing I don't know" With that being said, Zee put her head into the pool and then instantly pulled it back out with her eyes opened wide, blushing a fire red. "I don't want to put my head in there ever again." Said Zee as she walked into the corner of the room. "What did you think about?" Asked Record. "Just drop it, Record!" "Okay sorry." He said backing up. "So why isn't something like this, something with so much power, not guarded in a well protected place like Canterlot?" "Because I was assigned to protect it over 500 years ago." Said Darze. "What?! 500 years?" Shouted Zee. "Well sort of, you see I'm only 18 years old. But I have a device that was given to me by a 'friend' that has allowed me to go back in time and defend it." "And I'm a friend he met along the way." Said Nightstory laughting heartly. "Whoa whoa whoa. Who's this 'friend' you're talking about?" Snapped Record. "His name is Time Turner, but everyone calls him Doctor Whooves. Anyway the device he gave me was called the 'Tardis' which I've used to travel through time and defend this place. Honestly so far nothing bad has even happened." "Until now... Zero is probably looking for this." Said Zee as she walked back to Records side. "Unlikely very few know about this pool in the first place." Said Nightstory. Zee responded immediately. "We still need to keep an open mind about it." "She's right." Replied Record. "For all we know he could be looking for this as we speak." "That's very true." Said Darzell. Record turned his head and walked back over to the pool slowly. The amazement in his eyes grew once again. "So... this allows me to see anything?" "Pretty much." Said Darzell. With that being said, the first thing that popped into Record's head was vinyl. He wanted to see what she was seeing and what pain she was enduring. Record slowly looked into the pool and watched as the water swirled in a spiral. Record's muzzles slowly breached the surface of the water. The water felt warm and had a thick gelatinous texture. Record then stuck his whole head into the water. His vision began to blur. The center of the cyclone became the only thing within his line of sight. Suddenly a the blue began to fade into a black with a blur of light off center to the left. Finally he heard noise. "Wakey wakey, little pony!" "Yeah wake up, slut." Record couldn't recognize either of the voices. One of them sounded like a deep voiced thug from a bad 80s movie. While the other sounded like a psychotic clown on helium. The voices reminded him of Butcher and Brace. Records face began glowing red with anger as the voice said "Slut". Record pulled his head out of the pool. His face dripped with the gelatinous substance. "I kinda wished I didn't see that." Record spoke to himself. "Now, I wish...I wish to see what would happen in the future." Record said as he put his head back in the pool. Again the cyclone was the only thing in his vision. However something different happened this time. The spiral had split into two leaving him a choice to pick which vision he wanted to see. He first looked to the one on the left. The spiral turned green as it showed the top of a beautiful valley that overlooked equestria. He looked to his left to see a roughed up vinyl. Her mane was sloppy, her body was bruised badly, and there was a small cut on her lip. She turned to look at Record and smiled. He looked then to his right and saw Zee and Cyber safe and unharmed. Both of them smiled widely at Record. They all took in a deep breath as if relieved something was over. The vision became blurry and started swirl, and it was over. Record smiled and a tear rolled down his cheek. The vision of peace and everypony being safe made Record smile. But the smile quickly faded as the spiral began spinning fast again. As his vision turned blurry, the blue of the pool began to turn into a fire red. His vision finally cleared to show that the land of Equestria was in anarchy. Houses were chared, and buildings had been collapsed. The vision panned around ponyville, ponies were chained to one another, all of which looked tired and depressed. A lot of them were mining at rocks, others were working in spice production factories, pulling on a winch that they were body bound too in order to move the spice grinding mill. All of the pegasi's wings were duct taped and chained to their bodies. All of their wings feathers had been plucked one by one. All of the unicorns horns had a metal cover over it with a red cylinder on top. They were used to keep the unicorns from using their magic. Dark crystal ponies marched behind the captive ponies, keeping each of them in check. Suddenly a loud alarm went off. One of the unicorns that were mining decided to use his magic to help him work. Two of the dark crystal ponies unlatched the tired colt. "No, please I'm just so tired, you can't do this." Said the colt as he struggled to break free. The dark crystal ponies latched him onto a metal table in the center of the working field. "Alright everypony," said one of the dark crystal ponies. "...Break time!". As he said that two changelings started circling around the helpless colt. "NO PLEASE I WON'T DO IT AGAIN, I SWEAR." "You got that right." Said one of changelings. Suddenly the changelings fangs grew large and then impaled the colt dead center in his chest. Blood gushed out around the fangs like a bag full of water with a hole in it. The changeling had ruptured then colts heart. The changelings then began to eat the colt while he was still alive. The screams of pain that came from the colt as the changelings removed the skin from his muscles echoed throught ponyville. Blood continued to gush from the pony and weak sobs could be heard from all of ponies. After five minutes of the sounds of torture, the screaming stopped. "Okay everypony back to work!" Said the dark crystal pony as the changelings ate their meal. The vision blurred again and it cleared in front of canterlot castle. The castle was in ruins and far to destroyed to be repaired. All of the stained windows, that once contained the victories of harmony over chaos, had been shattered. The vision then showed some pony sitting in celestias throne. As the vision grew closer Record realized who it was. The black coat and mane, the mix matched wings, the evil gaze. It was Zero. As the tyrant stood up from the throne he spread his wings which had grown several feet since Records last encounter with Zero. He then proceeded to an unstained window that was still in one piece. His horn glowed a mixture of red and silver. He then emitted the power from his horn onto the window. The window became entangled in a web of different colors. Finally the window was stained with a horrific scene. It showed Zero standing over a decapitated Celestia and Luna. Under that showed a set of enslaved ponies crying. But what truly horrified Record was above the image of Zero. Above him the six Elements of Harmony were destroyed. When Record realized this his heart sank and he lost all wind in his lungs and he found it hard to breath. Zero then turned his head as if he knew Record was watching. But how, it was only a vision. Record lost all control of being able to see what he wanted. His gaze was fixed on Zero who was staring him in the eyes. The stare burned a haunting image into Records mind. Zeros mouth opened and he spoke menacingly. "Equestria has fallen, Tartarious has arisen." The vision went into a blur again. Record then pulled his head out of the pool gasping for air. Zee ran over and helped Record get all of the liquid off of his face. "How long was I in there?" Asked Record slowly. "Ten minutes exactly." Said Darzell. "Hey it's getting late everypony." Said Cyber. Record turned and looked at his best friend. "When in the hay did you get here?" He asked. "A little over five minutes ago. Zee stepped outside and when I was looking for both of you after i finished helping applejack and I saw her so she let me in and here I am. She also explained everything to me while you were in there." "Oh okay." Said Record as he got back to his hooves. "He's right though it is getting late. Would you all like to stay the night?" Asked Nightstory. "Oh well...we wouldn't want to impose or anything but we would like a place to stay where the matresses that don't feel like they came from an abandoned prison." Said Cyber laughing. Everypony else joined in on the laughter. "We take it you stayed in the old ponyville 'luxorious' motel. That place is like 10 years out of date. Anyway come, we'll show you to the guest bedrooms." Said Nightstory as he walk back upstairs. Everypony followed behind. Record glanced back one last time at the pool. Those visions that he saw will haunt him forever. He took a deep breath then sighed and he walked upstairs just behind Zee. "I have got to stop thinking of that." He said whispering to himself. Chapter 10:Record and ZeeChapter 10 Record and Zee Record woke up later that night in a daze. He rubbed his eyes with his hooves and slowly looked around the room. The walls and were just like the rest of the house, a normal stone brick and hard oak wood flooring. Both Zee and Cyber shared a room with Record. A row of beds laid against the wall in uniform. Record had the bed in the middle while Cyber had the bed to his right, and Zee and the bed to his left. Record got up from the bed and decided to take a walk outside. He looked over to Zee's bed with a smile, only to find she wasn't in the bed at all. Record raised an eyebrow and was a little concerned. He walked downstairs hoping to bump into her, but there was no sign of her. Record became worried about Zee now. With one last effort he stepped outside hoping to find her. He looked from side to side on the porch and saw her sitting on the edge looking up at the night sky. Record sighed in relief and walked up to her. "Oh hey Record." Said Zee. "Wanna join me?" She patted the spot next to her on porch with her hoof. Record blushed a light pink and smiled. "S-sure, Zee." He stuttered as he laid beside her and looked up into the night sky with half a grin. "It's beautiful isn't it, the night sky?" Asked Zee. "You see so much more at night than during the day, and the majority of ponies sleep through it." Record smiled and stared at the moon. Zee was right the dark blue sky mixed with the small dots of stars, did look amazing. However one star, beside the moon, was shining brighter than all the others. Record knew what it was and he smiled again. "Yeah it is. It's very beautiful. Hey do you see that bright star? To the left of the moon." He said pointing it out for Zee. "Oh yeah! Is that another planet or sun?" She asked with a smile. Record chuckled and looked at her. "Nope, it's actually another galaxy." A smirk grew on Record's face as he said that. "What!?" Zee said astounded. Her jaw dropped and she had a huge smile on her face. "Yep, I learned it in astronomy back in college. Besides technology and music it was the only class I paid attention in. Anyway me are currently in the Milky Way galaxy. That galaxy you see there is called Andromeda." He said happily. "Andromeda? Wow." She said with a smile. Record blushed and glanced off when got an idea. When he was searching for Zee he saw that one room had a miniature telescope. He smiled and stood up. "Wait right here, Zee. I'll be right back." He quietly went back inside and came back out with a telescope, about the size of a full grown colt. "Here now we should be able to see Andromeda a lot better." Zee smiled and made a noise that sounded like a stuffed animal receiving a big bear hug. Record set up the telescope and adjusted the angles and set the focus to where the telescope was perfectly clear. He then moved the telescope until Andromeda was in view. Record shuddered in amazement when he saw the other galaxy. The purple stardust orbiting the galactic core, the visual sight of multiple colored planets, and the beautiful sight of other stars over millions of miles away made Record smile. Record stepped out of the way to let Zee look into the telescope. When Zee looked into it her face slowly changed from a nervous grin to an amazed smile. "Wow...its so beautiful." Record hesitated on what he wanted to say. He knew he may never get another chance but yet he would also be putting his friendship, with Zee, on the line. He quietly cleared his throat and spoke. "Just like you." He said blushing nervously. Zee slowly took her eye of of the telescope. Her whole face had slowly went from blue to purple. She was blushing as well. Record slowly looked away as he spoke again. "Zee, I've had a crush on you since I first saw you. Zee, I think that everything about you is amazing. Your mane, your coat, but most of all your personality. Sleepy Zee...I...I...I love you!" He said as he released all of his emotions into what he just said. Zee's eyes glisted in the moonlight and she smiled. "Aww, Record." She said giving him a big hug. "Record, you remember the day we met right?" "Yeah I heard a scream for help and I came to help you against Butcher." "Yeah when I saw you...I felt like it was the end. Until I saw you fight and help me. Record, you saved me. Then after we got to know each other I started developing feelings for you. Record, I love you too." She said with a smile. Record's heart started beating fast and he blushes a deep crimson. "Y-you do?" Asked Record with a stutter. Zee nodded with a smile. Record started shaking nervously. He'didn't know what to do, he had never been in this position before. Record knew this was the moment. He stood up straight and took a deep breath in and let it back out. "Zee, w-will you go out with me?" He asked. "Yes!" She said quickly. "I will go out with you, Record." She blushed as those words left to left her mouth. Record smiled widely and looked into her eyes. Zee looked back into Record's. This was Record's first mare friend, and he was going to make sure she was the last. "Finally...I met somepony who actually cares about me. I...I have to tell her how I feel." Record said to himself. Record looked down and slowly took one of Zee's hooves. "Record?" She said nervously. "Sleepy...you are my heart and soul. I will give my life for you. I promise that no matter what happens I will always love you." He said truly meaning every word. Zee smiled back and hugged him. Record hugged her as well in a warm, loving, embrace. They both seperated, looking into each others eyes again. Zee's mouth slowly opened as she watched Record's fire red eyes glow in the night. Record did the same and watched Zee's amazing blue eyes stick out from the darkness. They both began to lean into each other. They both closed their eyes as they got closer. They could feel each others breath on their lips. Suddenly the door opened. Cyber walked out and stared at both of them who and returned into a natural position. "What are you two doing out here?" Asked Cyber. Zee quickly responded. "Record couldn't sleep so uh we decided to go for a walk to tire her out. We uh just got back." She said. "Then why is Nightstory's telescope out here?" Said Cyber still skeptical. "I wanted to show her something about the moon." Record said lying. "But you just said you two went for a walk." "We did but we watched the moon before we went walking." "Then why did I see you two her so close to one another?" Record and Zee looked at each other worried. They didn't want Cyber to know they were dating, at least not yet. "We were simply giving each other a friendly hug." Said Zee. "Y-yeah a simple friendly hug." Record added. Cyber still had the look of skepticism in his eyes. He shrugged it off and nodded. "Alright, but let's go back to bed its like 2 in the morning." Said Cyber. "Sure." Said Record grabbing the telescope. Cyber went back upstairs to go to bed. Record held the door open for Zee. Zee walked into the house and Record followed behind. He set the telescope back where he found it and walked upstairs beside Zee. They both entered the bedroom to see that Cyber was already fast asleep. Both Record and Zee smiled and they laid down in their beds. Just as Record was about to fall asleep he heard Zee walk over to his bed. "Good night, Record." She said kissing his cheek. Record blushed and spoke quietly to only where Zee could hear him. "Good night, Zee." He quickly sat up and kissed her on the lips before she had a chance to turn around. Record broke the kiss slowly and smiled. Zee was began to blush so red that she was glowing in the darkness. They both spoke at the same time before going to sleep for the rest of the night. Their last words made each other blush. Those last words for the night came from their heart. They spoke softly. "I love you." Chapter 11:Short TemperedChapter 11 Short Tempered Record woke up slowly feeling groggy and disoriented. It was early in the morning but Record had still slept for quite a while. What woke Record from his slumber was an abnormal sound, it was gentle but incessant. It started out as part of a dream. It sounded as if somepony was playing a steady rhythm on the side of a drum. Whoever it was, wasn't very good. It was nothing more than a simple tap... tap... tap... He gradually came around to realize it wasn't a dream. He popped one eye open and glanced around the room. The room was still dark because the sun hadn't risen yet. He sat up but he felt something touch his thigh. He removed the blankets from on top of him and he smiled by what he saw. Laying next to him in his bed was Zee. She started shaking once Record removed the covers. He smiled and laid back down as he put the blankets over both of them again. Tap... tap... tap... There it was again. Record sat up again and made his horn glow a bright blue. He glanced over to the window. A tree limb swayed in the gusty winds outside, hitting the window multiple times. Record sighed is relief then turned his head over at Cyber's bed. Record almost screamed by what he saw. Cyber was sitting on his bed, his eyes were wide open with a huge psychotic smile was stuck on his face like it was plastered on. Record was shaking in horror. He looked down at Zee who was still asleep. He looked back at Cyber who had appeared no more than inches away from his face. Cyber's teeth were fangs, his eyes were black and empty, and he had the look of hunger on his face. Cyber's mouth opened and he began to speak in a low tone. "Wake...up..." Record woke up quickly feeling groggy and disoriented. He was in a cold sweat and his heart was racing fast. As he took deep breaths in and out to try and calm down as he looked around the room. When he looked around he saw the sun had already been risen, shining bright though the window majestically. He looked down on the bed. The blankets were drawn back and exposed half of the mattress that had an impression of another pony on it. Record raised an eyebrow at it. "I think Zee got in bed with me last night. I can't blame her, its cold in here." Record spoke to himself. He got off the bed and trotted downstairs out of the empty room and into the living room. He glanced around the living room and it was empty too. Feeling worried, he walked over to the table. Sitting motionless on the table was a rolled up sheet of parchment beside a quill and ink well. Record picked up the note and unraveled it with his magic. He began to read the letter. Record if you get this message before we return then we all went out to eat. Nightstory offered to take us all out to breakfast, we're going to The Ponyville Pub and Restaurant. Come meet up with us. We didn't want to wake you up, Sweetie. I love you. Zee. Records heart settled and he smiled as he saw a big heart next to Zee's signature. He went back upstairs and put his coat on humming the song Winter Wrap Up. He then trotted back downstairs and opened the front door only to be hit with a gust of freezing wind and light snow flakes which melted as they hit his face. He stepped outside into the snow feeling the crunch and the cold of the snow underneath his hooves. He took in his surrounding environment. Many ponies, young and old, played in the snow. The young ones built small forts and were throwing snowballs at each other with their parents, while the elders went for a simple walk around ponyville smiling as they passed other ponies. The sight brought a smile to his face until he was hit by a rouge snowball. Record shook the snow off and looked around for whoever hit him. He saw a small orange filly with a purple mane that was barren of her cutie mark walk up to him. "Hey I'm sorry about that I can't throw that good." Said the filly. "Oh its fine," Said Record. "Just watch it next time." "Yes sir." "Scootaloo watch where you're throwing next time!" Said a small yellow filly with a red mane. "Sorry applebloom, I can't help it. I'm not good at throwing stuff." Said the orange filly and she went back to her friend. Record chuckled as he trotted over to the restaurant. After a few minutes he walked up to an old tavern. He knew it was the restaurant because of the sign out front. He looked through the window and saw Zee, Darzell, Nightstory, and Cyber sitting at the bar. Record walked inside and heard the DING of the bell as the door hit it. Cyber and the others turned around to see Record. They all smiled as they saw their friend. Zee winked at Record and turned back around. Record walked up and sat beside Zee. "I missed you." She whispered into his ear. "I missed you too, sweetie." Record replied nuzzling her but making sure no pony else would see him. He sat forward and glanced at Cyber. "How didd you sleep bro?" Asked Cyber. "I slept pretty good, all except for my dream." "What happened?" Asked Nightstory. "I'll tell you later." Said Record as he looked at the waiter who came back out with plates of food. "Oh hello there, sir." He said as he passed out the plates. "I'm Scripted Portrait, how can I help you." He asked. "Hi Scripted, I'm Record I'd like to order." "Yes sir what would you like?" Record thought for a minute but he finally came to a decision. "Some waffles and a bottle of beer please." Everypony stared at Record. Record looked at them as Scripted popped the top off a bottle and set it in front of him. "What?" Asked Record. "Dude you're to young to drink." Said Cyber. "No the legal drinking age is sixteen and I'm seventeen." Record sighed and took a sip of the cold beer. "I don't care." He said getting up and taking the beer from Record. Record stood up quickly and glared at Cyber. "You don't want to do this, Cyber." He said sternly. "Actually I do, you're my brother an I don't want to see you make any mistakes." "You don't know what I'm going through Cyber now please just give it back!" He said starting to get red. "No," he said throwing away the beer. "You're to young and that's that." Records face went red with anger. "I AM NOT YOUNG!" He shouted. Everypony inside stared at him and Cyber looked him right in the eyes. "I'm not young, Cyber. You don't know what it's like right now. I'm told to save Equestria, I was told to find these guys, I am always being asked to do stuff. My sister has been kidnapped, my stress has skyrocketed, AND MY PARENTS ARE SIX FEET UNDER!!!" "Oh snap out of it!" Said Cyber slapping Record. The tension in the room grew tremendously. Everypony could be heard breathing as they stared at the two. Record slowly looked back at Cyber with hate in his eyes. Enough was enough. "I'm not gonna fight you. But don't ever talk to me again!" He said. He turned around and stormed out of the building. Zee stood up and ran after him. Cyber followed behind but then turned to go to Sweet Apple Acres. Zee caught up with Record. He was staring at the ground in tears when she caught up to him. "Record, wait!" "L-leave me alone, Zee." He said sobbing. "Sweetie what happened?" "I lost my temper. I think I also lost a brother. All of this stress has been eating at me Zee." He said as the tears continued to flow down his face. "Come on let's get back to the house so we can talk there." She said. They both walked back to the house as Zee calmed Record down. Record had stopped crying after several minutes before they walked in. They both went upstairs and they sat on the bed. "It's okay Record its okay I'm here." She said softly. "Thank you, Zee." He said sobbing lightly. "Now Record he's your best friend. No matter what happens you two will always be friends. You think that will ever change?" "W-well no but..." Record looked at her with sadness in his eyes. "We've never fought before." "Eh I've fought with a few of my friends before trust me its not fun." "B-but how did you deal with it?" He asked sobbing slightly. "I...just did... I can't explain how though." "Alright." He said wiping his tears away. They sat there hugging for several minutes before hearing the door downstairs open. They heard hoof steps going up the stair case drawing closer to their door. Finally the clopping of the steps came to a halt only to be followed by a gentle knock on the door. "Come in!" Record said slowly. The door knob turned and Cyber walked in, the whites of his eyes were red and his bottom eyelids were wet with tears. Record and Cyber stared at each other for a few minutes before Cyber walked over to Record. They looked each other in the eyes and Cyber hugged Record. "I'm sorry little brother." Said Cyber trying to hide his sobs. It did very little as his his breath trembled heavily. "I shouldn't have tried to change how you are." "I'm sorry too Cyber." He said as tears formed in his eyes. Zee smiled as she saw the two colts become friends again. Record smiled as he hugged Cyber however one thing was flowing through his mind. What did his dream mean? Author's Note I apologize if this chapter is bland and not as good I have been busy lately with school. Chapter 12:Back to Square OneChapter 12 Back to Square one Record woke up that next morning to a sweet and savory smell. His eyes opened slowly and he sat up looking around the room. Beside him, on the bed: laid Sleepy Zee. She was curled up in most of the blankets but Record didn't mind, after all it was the middle of winter and the room was cold. He sprung up off of his bed and yawned, Record extend his front legs and leaned back, stretching his torso as if getting ready to leap into the air. He let out a big breath of air and cracked his neck. "I wonder if Nightstory or Darzell is awake." He said glancing over to Cyber whom of which was still asleep. Record chuckled and trotted downstairs into the kitchen to be greeted not by a plate of food, but with a large feast on the table. Records jaw dropped and saliva began to slowly drip from his mouth. The table was compiled of many delectable foods. A honey baked ham with pineapple slices laid on the center of the table. A platter of biscuits and cinnamon rolls rested beside it, both still had steam coming off the top of the piles. A large array of bacon, eggs and sausage were cooling beside a tall pitcher of apple cider. A colossal bowl with many different slices of fruit was beside a plate of pancakes. There were 5 stacks of what seemed like 100 pancakes for each stack, each with syrup and butter dripping off of them as if it were a fat colts paradise. He stepped closer, his gaze still transfixed on the food. Nightstory walked in the house to see Record. He rubbed his hooves together giving an evil grin as he thought of scaring him. Record had yet to notice him as the only thing on his mind was the food. Nightstory quietly crept over to Record trying hard not to laugh. He got to where he was right behind Record and he took a deep, but quiet, breath of air. "Enjoying the view?" He asked. Record sprung up into the air faster than a bullet, he was scared almost literally out of his skin. "What the buck, dude!" Record said sternly. "Sorry mate I didn't think I'd scare you that bad," He said apologetically. "I just thought it would be a fun joke." "It's fine." Record said as he dropped back to the ground landing on his hooves only to stumble over. "Hey didn't we have to go back to Canterlot today?" Nightstory asked. "Yes we do... but not until we eat, I'm starving." Record chuckled as he said that. Nightstory went over to a cupboard and opened it, revealing a large assortment of fine china. He laid then near the edge of the table give a small grin. "Well go ahead and eat up man, we've got a big day today." Record immediately ran over to the table and picked up a plate. He then stacked several pancakes onto it and covered the delicious, syrupy, cakes with fruit. He then proceeded to lay bacon, ham, sausage, and eggs beside the pancakes, still warm and steamy with a sweet aroma. Without hesitation he then sat down and began inhaling his food. He finished in just a few minutes and expressed a huge grin as he took in his last bite of pancakes. Nightstory chuckled as he trotted upstairs to wake up the other two. Record sighed and stood up on his hooves letting out a slight belch. He wiped his mouth and went back upstairs to shower. Just as he was entering the bathroom he saw Zee walk out with her horn glowing and a small grin plastered onto her face. He then saw Cyber come out of the room, being held in mid-air by Zee's magic hold on tight to his blanket. "NO I WANNA SLEEP!" Said Cyber, as he struggled frantically to break out of her grasp, flapping his wings quickly. "Don't be such a baby Cyber." She chuckled heartily. They both soon caught the smell and Cyber's eyes sprung open immediately. "Food food food food food!" He shouted as he oriented his body to source of the smell. Zee happily put him down only to be blasted with a gust of wind, when Cyber stormed passed her, causing her mane and tail to violently wave. Record laughed and he walked over to her. "Bad Hair day?" "Shut up!" She said playfully shoving him. "I just want to get back to canterlot." "What? Why?" "Well it's nice here and everything but I just want to get this all over with." "Yeah I know what you mean. This whole thing has taken a toll on all of us...but lets not worry about that right now, you need to eat." Zee blushed and nodded as she trotted downstairs. Record smiled turned around walking into the bathroom and he started the shower. Several minutes passed and Record walked out of the bathroom, mane still damp. He went downstairs to see all of his friends gathered around the dining room table. Without a second thought he joined them sitting between Sleepy and Darzell, whom had returned while Record was in the shower. He was happy invited to sit. "So everypony...Who's ready to head out to Canterlot?" asked Nightstory. They all raised they're hooves and laughed happily. As they all finished breakfast Record, Sleepy and Cyber got they're satchels together preparing to leave to the train station. "At least I'll be able to catch some sleep on the train." Cyber said wiping his eyes. Record nodded his head in agreement. "Maybe if you didn't stay up till 1 A.M. every night playing that same repetitive Call Of Cutie game you wouldn't be tired." Record said laughing. "Shut up dude Modern Warmare 2 was awesome." "Okay I give you that much. But 'Spirits' sucked." Cyber shrugged not paying attention to his words as he finished packing up. Zee and Record did the same and the all gathered up by the front door. Zee began flirting with Record a little making him blush and turn away, nervous by what his best friend might do. After a few short moments, Darze and Nightstory walked up to the three; bags in tow. "Okay we're ready when you are." said Darzell with a grin. Record opened the door for everyone. Nightstory was going to be the first to trot out until Record pushed him back. “DUDE what the hell?” Nightstory shouted. “Hey haven’t you heard. Ladies first! ” Record replied. Nightstory was left with his eyes open wide as he felt extremely embarrassed. “I’m sorry…” he said standing up. Zee totted out of the house smiling happily, then Cyber, then Nightstory, the Darzell, then Record. “Alright…to the train yard.” Cyber said. They all made their way to the train yard in decent time. Record got in line to buy them all the tickets and he stood their gently kicking up dirt with his hooves as he waited patiently. It took him a moment to realize who was in front of him. It was the bartender from yesterday. Record tapped his side with a smile and the stallion turned around. “Hello” he said calmly. “Can I help you? Wait…you’re that colt who got into a fight in my pub yesterday aren’t you?” “Uh…yeah sorry about that.” Record apologized. “I never got a chance to introduce myself, I’m Record Friction.” He said holding out a hoof. “Scripted Portrait.” said the stallion shaking hooves with him. “Nice to meet you. ” Record spoke warmly. It was then Scripted's turn to buy a ticket. Record moved up in line only to be bumped into a white colt: who had just purchased his ticket. “Whoa sorry about that.” Record said moving out of his way. “It’s okay.” He said picking up his ticket and getting on the train. "Hmph, little bit rude..." Record chuckled a bit at his own statement and purchased all the tickets for his party. After he had finished he walked back over to the group whom was wait anxiously for him. "Alright, let's board!" In a flash Sleepy boarded with incredible speed. "Whoa" said Cyber. "Somepony is anxious." "I guess so." He said keeping his smile. After they all boarded and got settled in the train began to move. multiple ponies enjoying conversations as Record and Sleepy were having a conversation of their own as well. "Umm... Sleepy?" "Yes Record?" she said smiling wide. "I...I've been wanting to ask you something for a while now." he said with a nervous shake in his voice. "Yes!" "Y-YES?" "Yep... the sweetest apples in Equestria are from Sweet Apple Acres." she said laughing loudly as a joke. Record laid his hoof on his fore head. "You enjoy screwing around with me don't you?" "Aww, you know me so well!" she said with a giggle. "Umm... Sleepy i was wondering if... you... maybe... want to..." Before Record could finish his sentence the train forcefully jolted to the side and started to turn over. Record held onto Zee tightly and the train fell over still skidding on its side a little. Finally it came to a complete halt. "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!" Shouted Nightstory. "I don't know!" Replied Record. He began climbing the seats of the train to get out through a window. "Cyber can you help me out bro?" "Yeah." He said flying up to the window and opening it. Record climbed out of the train and started looking around. A lot of dust was still in air from the topple. As Record looked around he heard screaming and what sounded like a low buzzing noise. And as the dust began to clear he could see a train car had been completely removed from the engine and other cars its self as if it had been bombed. It was at this moment a bunch of twisted metal and rubble. The buzzing began to get louder. Record turned around and looked in the direction of the sound. Changlings. A huge swarm of changelings was rapidly approaching. Record began to tremble and with one last glance he looked forward onto the train tracks. Zero was glaring at him. IntroMy name is Record Friction, and I'm not just your average, everyday unicorn. I am an adventurer, DJ, magic expert, and some say the friendliest pony they have ever met, and others even call me a hero. I have done a number of things to give me these titles, but in order to tell you how I got from where I was; from being a ripped up washcloth, thrown away, and left to deteriorate on the sidewalk, to where I am now, is impossible in one story. I will be going through of all the important ponies I've met in the following sequels, and tell you about all of my adventures with them, and not only to tell you how I've helped my new friends, but how they've helped change me as well. But allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Record W. Friction. I am the older brother of the famous Vinyl Scratch, or some of you may know her as DJ pon3. Her and I have shared a close bond to this very day, and we've always kept in touch. I am equestria's greatest DJ, and danger hunter. I've always been the one looking for danger whenever I could, just so I could get that adrenaline rush, which always lead to my inspiration of dubstep. I also have the best friends, their names are Nightstory and Darzell, and one could not ask for better friends than these; but how I met them is another story for later. But look at me wasting your time! You want to get into the story, am I right? Well then I welcome you to... The chronicles of Record Friction: A new beginning.
Chapter 1:New found strengthChapter 1 New found strength Record Friction was born on an early mid-winter morning in the city of Manehatten.
"This is who I am."
Chapter 3: The surprise of a lifetimeChapter 3 The surprise of a lifetime One week after Record had gotten his turntable set, the talent show had come.
Is a friend indeed." Author's Note Chapter 4 will probably be the fastest chapter in the story so please no hate
Chapter 5: The beginning of the endChapter 5 The beginning of the end Record woke up on his couch the next morning.
"Okay everypony...here's what's going on."
Chapter 9: The VisionsChapter 9 The Visions Record had just finished explaining what happened 5 days ago back at Canterlot Castle when they arrived at a large stone house.
"I love you."
Chapter 11:Short TemperedChapter 11 Short Tempered Record woke up slowly feeling groggy and disoriented.
