A "pony" sends letters to his parents about his life in Equestria. Follow his narrations in the letters he sends to his parents. And remember, not all stories have happy endings.

Things are going great.

Dear Mom and Dad,
It's been over 3 months, why haven't you responded? Anyway, things are going great for me. My fillyfriend North Star wants to take our relationship to the next level. She's taking about having foals of our own. Good grief, I'm only 19, and she's only 18. I've tried to tell her that we're too young to be thinking about that right now, but, just like you mom, she won't listen. She honestly reminds me of you a little bit.

Hopefully not a father anytime soon, your son.

Dear Mom and Dad,
I hope these letters are finding you okay. It's been almost a year since my last letter. I hope you haven't forgotten about me. I proposed to North Star yesterday. AND SHE ACCEPTED!!!!! I really wish you could come to our wedding. Princess Cadance is going to be prosiding over it. I'm not sure if I spelled that right. But I tried. Please, please, please reply to me.

Dear Mom and Dad,
It's been another year since I wrote to you, and I still haven't hear anything back from you yet. Any others would've given up and forgotten at this point, but not me. My name isn't Glimmer of Hope for nothing. Anyway, I wrote to tell you that me and North Star are expecting a foal. The doctors are telling us that it's most likely going to end up being a Filly, but, we don't have ultrasound like you do back there. I'm sorry if it seems strange not calling it home anymore. But Equestria is my home now. I was arguing with my wife over what to call our foal. It's going to be difficult coming up with a name without knowing for sure if it's a filly or a colt. So I guess we'll come up with a name when it's born.And between you and me, I hope it's a colt.

Dear Mom and Dad,
My wife passed away last week. I haven't gone to work in days and Dawn is asking questions about where mom went. I told her, "Mom went to heaven, and she isn't sick there.' She asked me "Can I go visit her?" I had to tell her no, not for a long time. She looked at me sadly. There is still a Glimmer of hope that My daughter won't pursue it. I truly hope so. Please write back to me, I really need your help to get through this.

In need of guidance, your son,

Dear Mom and Dad,
I just found my daughter dead in her room. She took too many vitamins and overdosed. I found a note next to her body, it read "I went to live with mommy in heaven." Wasn't I a good enough pony? Wasn't I a good enough father? Am I being punished for some unknown crime? WHY ARE ALL THESE BAD THINGS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?!? I just wish they would come back to me.

Help me, your son,

Dear Mom and Dad,
This will be my final letter to you. I'm sorry I haven't written to you more often. I'm sorry I wasn't good enough. But the pain of losing my wife and daughter is too much for me to bear. I want you to know, I love you mom and dad. And I also want to know that I'm sorry.

The aftermath

Shortly after sending his final letter to his parents, Glimmer of Hope was found dead is his apartment from magically induced heart failure. It was determined to be suicide. The loss of his wife and daughter was too much for him, and he lost hope.

As for why his parents never wrote back or replied to any of his messages. The were killed in a car crash hours after he entered the portal to Equestria.

Try to remember, as long as you keep hope in your heart and in your spirit, life will go on, But if you lose what hope you have, Life wouldn't be worth living. So as long as you have a "Glimmer of Hope" Then you will live forever.

Dear Mother and Father,
I've found it. I've finally found the portal. It's more beautiful than I ever imagined. I have found Equestria. I wish you could be here to see it all. I see Canterlot off in the mountains, Cloudsdale in the sky and Ponyville off in the distance. I've also become a pony myself. The trip through the portal must have changed me magically. I'm a unicorn.

Dear Mother and Father,
I went to Canterlot today to speak to Princess Celestia. I told her of were I was from and, can you believe it, she's agreed to let me stay in Equestria. She even gave me the means to send you letters, and even gave me way to allow you to reply back. I can't wait to hear from you. The candlestick enclosed in the package is the means I told you about. Just light the candle and put your letter into the flame and it will be magically transported to me. Love you, and hope to hear from you soon.

Why haven't you written back yet? I can understand that the way of sending messages to me might be a bit scary or a bit strange, but the Princess assured me that it would work. I really want to hear from you.

I moved to Ponyville and got a job tending to the Library while their resident librarian was getting coronated in Canterlot. I wish I could be there so I could see Princess Twilight. If she comes back she'll likely want her Library back. If she wants it back, then she can have it. Until then, I'm the new Librarian.

I'm still waiting to hear from you. Anyway, I found a beautiful Unicorn mare in town. She said her name was North Star. She has the most beautiful brown eyes and the most serene voice. It's like listening to a summer breeze gently blowing through a green pasture. I asked her out on a date, and It's tonight. Wish me luck and please at least try the magical letter sender candle.

I am on my way to visit Manehatten with my daughter, Dawns Beauty. It's been 6 years since my last letter, I hope you are still in good health. My daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me, other than my loving wife. I couldn't imagine life without either of them. Please reply, I haven't heard from you in so long.

Dear Mom and Dad,
My wife is sick, she's caught some kind of virus. The doctors say it's unlike anything they've ever seen before. I'm going to ask Princess Twilight if there's is any cure for this illness. Dawn is asking me why she can't see mommy, and it breaks my heart to tell her, "Mommy is sick, and if you get close to her then you will get sick too." I have to keep up hope that she will get better, after all my name is Glimmer of Hope.

My wifes condition is getting worse, and it's getting harder and harder to keep little Dawn from trying to see Star. Princess Twilight told me that she looked through every spell book the Ponyville and Canterlot libraries had and there wasn't a magical cure for this desease. I pray to whoever is listening, please save my wife.
