The moon stared down upon Equestria, but more so on two Grims walking through the forest in the dead of night. The one leading the way was covered in amour. he had a dark black cloak attach to his armor. Painted onto his cloak was a sword with wings infront of a solar eclipse. His face was hidden under neath his hood. He held a spear in his right entirely made of metal and two short swords each side of his hip equally great craftsmanship. His companion also was covered in armor, his cloak was golden with a emblem of a shield with thunder crossing through it, his helmet concealed most of his face but his golden hair spike up through the top. He held a shield with lighting emblem engraved in and had a sword sheath inside the shield. Both of them had there Armour ,cloaks and weapons covered in runes either engrave or painted in.
"Are you sure about this Night Wing, there must be some other way?"
"I told Thunder Bane this is the only way, Celestia made that very clear". he said listening to the chirping of the wild life around him.
"You are willing to trust them?" Thunder Bane said confused by his trust in the sun mover, sure she hadn't betrayed them or lied to them so far, but they had fought for both Lunar and Celestia during the 3 year war against the demoncus and three brothers they had lost because of it, he could not lose another.
"I never said I trusted them but I am not willing for lands Elune be taken by some demon and his minions. Our brethren deaths will not be in vain" there death had weight heavily upon him , if it was not for Thunder Bane he would of lost his sanity and become a slave to vengeance, but after tonight to the super weapon would be born, if his sacrifice meant the undoing of the demoncus then so be it.
"So this lagoon, the sacrifice , it sounds demonic. What are you being sacrificed too?"
Night Wing had not thought that far ahead , he stopped and looked up at the moon , its white glow illuminating all, he always prefer the night and the solace it brought with it. The world looked at peace in the darkness. "Maybe its Elune ..... or death" ironic the Angel of Death , being sacrificed to death.
Thunder Bane looked at ground, if he had learned anything from this constant war ,its that hope was just idea not reality. "And what if it is a ...."
"Demon? you think the princesses would use dark magic to enchant the weapon"
"we are losing this war Night Wing , Celestia and Luna are getting desperate. This war will only end with the defeat of an immortal, So what if a couple of Grims, ponys and demons die pointlessly , it means nothing to them" Thunder bane said coldly.
"If there is a chance that my death will save one life this will be worth it, have faith Brother" Night Wing gave weak smile.
"And what about me, we both know what happens to Grims that lose all bonds ...." thunder bane looked Night Wing straight in the eye. "Are you willing to make me suffer for the innocent pony's that reject us and label us monsters, they think of us as villains but you are willing to die for them. WHY answer me this !" thunder bane was on the edge of rage, he could feel the burning , anger , the vengeance.
Sighed deeply , he remove his hood from his head , revealing midnight colored coat and his black and blue spiked mane, but it was his eyes were of deep dark blue like the Night sky. "So could you watch as pony are tortured , raped and killed because they shouted few harsh words and didn't invite us to their tea party's" he chuckled his face then turned to one of complete seriousness " I cant begin to comprehend how hard it will be when the last bond is broken.... but promise me you will carry on, don't let our deaths be in vain, I ask a lot of you thunder bane but only because you have the power to make a difference" Night Wing was interrupted by voices up ahead. "do you hear that"
"Hear what?" a increasingly confused Thunder bane asked.
They drew their weapons and pushed slowly through the vegetation. The forest opened up to show ruins of a once great citadel, "this must be it" thunder bane whispered. As they advance closer to the ruins the voices grew louder. Until realized it was calling him. They enter the citadel and charged after the chants down to the lower levels. Until they came across a large ebony door, it was littered with ancient text , scratch into the door.
"demonic runes, they obviously don't want us getting in" smiled Night Wing
"They are not powered, do you think the princess debuff them?" thunder bane said more confused than ever.
"It will just save us time" Night Wing said gave the door a solid kick, "aaaaarrrrggghhhh" and started dancing around the room in shear pain.
"........ its a pull Night" he said with a bewilder, as he watch his companion hop around the room.
"Lets just go through the bloody door" Night Wings eyes went wide as he saw it, a pool of bright green , "Jelly? This is the lagoon , its empty where did the voices come from?."
"maybe it was the pool" Thunder bane said chuckling to him self.
"I am going INSANE , she expects me the die by jelly" Night Wing to confirm what his eyes were showing him. Just before fume at the situation anymore, he heard the voice again louder than before "the pact must be sealed or equestia will burn" the voice brought Night Wing back to the task at hand, he looked at his comrade who was now rolling on the floor laughing. "Brother it is time" he deadpanned.
"What?! No you cant die, we are doomed without you" he said fighting back his liquid pride.
Night Wing gave him warm smile, "make sure they don't mess it up" he said walking toward the large pool of green. Inches away he turned his back to the pool and looked at his last friend , he drop his spear -peace maker "keep it safe for me, i will be back soon to collect it" and with he dropped backwards into the deep green.
"Brother......." thunder bane dropped to his knees. The room became dark, the pool became crimson red.
Night Wing could barely move within the green jelly substance , his mind became blank and he found himself no longer in the deep green but in a pitch black room where the only light came from a small candle. The darkness was never ending, the silence was broken

"I want to play a game......." He spun around, trying to find the source of the voice. Never ending darkness surrounded him, He begun walking towards a small candle when he was picked up a sparkling blue aura and thrown back into an invisible wall. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth against the pain. "Interesting".He opened his eyes to see the caster, a large black alicorn with a sparkling mane and lizard like eyes,With a mare stucture, she had a frown upon her face as she looked up and down Night Wings body. " Celestia you desperate fool, she sends a grim in attempt to buy herself more time, pathetic". she tightened her telekinesis grip on Night Wings body as she lifted him towards herself until they face to face.
He stared deep into her eyes, they were teal blue, Grims believed eyes were windows into the soul, he could see her soul through her eyes first things he could see was hatred , anger , vengeance and blood lust. "who are you" he manged to say through all the confusion he had been through in the last three minutes of his life.
"she didn't tell you? ha ha ha this is adorable. The great and wonderful Celestia sends a mortal to me with no clue HA. I am the spirit of vengeance" she pronounced "and you are?"
"Night Wing" he said still trying to understand the situation.
"Night Wing the Angel of death?"
"that is what they called me"
"I have heard of you, we are very alike with both fight for vengeance ".
"I fight to protect Equestia" he said beginning to get annoyed with the spirits accusations.
"you love it , the pain, the fury and most of the taking of a life. You cant lie to me I can feel your emotion." she stared hungrily into his eyes. "Those pony's you protect betrayed you, they think of you as tamed timber wolf, a monster but a useful tool. I know how it feels, if you let me into your soul I will give you the power celestia could only dream of and then you can have your revenge" she whispered into his ear.
"...........As tempting as that sounds we both know I cant and won't do that" Night Wing knew if he let her in, it wouldn't be him killing discord. It would be her, he would have no control all he could is watch but his history with discord still made it a tempting.
"It doesn't matter you see" she slammed him into the wall again this time with greater force. "Your going to let me in even if i have to beat the door down" she lifted him up so she could see his face again.
Night Wing cough up an unhealthy amount of blood , he once again looked her in the eyes " the real tortured is listening you go on and on" a grin formed on his face.
She kicked hard in the gut "Bucking Grims"
Time had not been kind for the Ancient Citadel, over the many Millenniums the roof had crumbled and the wooden doors had rotted. It had been abandon of all life for 3 millenniums until tonight, when a possessed princess was purify by the new bearers of harmony. This victory sent a magical surge through the citadale and awoken a warrior who had been forgotten for thousands of years.
Night Wing eyes shot open he was no longer in the dark seclusion of vengeful spirit's realm but in a dark gooey substance. He thrashed his arms around desperately trying to break the surface . His hand gripped onto the cobble stone above as he managed to pull himself up. Gasping for air he rolled over on to the stony surface coughing out the green substance. Every bone in his screamed with pain as he tried to sit up. Against their relentless advice to stay down he picked himself up, he wiped the green substance off his face as he opened his eyes, the room was dark, nearly pitch black but he knew where he was, the thousands of years in that prison didn't fade his memory.
In the corner of eye he saw a golden glimmering, against his body's will he crawled over to it, picking the medallion he scanned the engraved pattern on it, it was a silver shield with a golden lighting bolt embedded on it. "Thunder Bane?" He scanned the room desperately looking for more objects that would lead him to his brother in arms. Then it hit him, how long had it been. He was in there for so long he lost track of time. It could of decades , centuries or maybe even millenniums . What of Discord with he still alive? and what he doing about it " come you lazy bastard get on your hoofs" he said to him self as he got on too his legs, his creak and his spine clicked back in to place. He put Thunder bane medallion around his neck.
He begun walking towards the large set of doors. He walked right into the door as he pulled it towards him. " bucking door" he grumbled recovering once again from a collision from the door. He gave it a sharp kick, that made come of its hinges. He march to the upper levels of the citadale holding onto the wall for support. He walked through hall noticing the building had decayed since he had been here last. He went through the large double door and at last into night air. The gentle breeze on his skin felt alien after so long without it.
He lifted his wings , only to be met with a sharp pain "argh" he sharply retracted them back. "Plan B walking ...." it was more like stumbling as he push through the knee high grass, over the rope bridge (barely) and into the dark forest. It was filled with growls and calls of the local wildlife. He was walking aimlessly, he had lost track of time and every second he felt weaker and weaker. He slipped on wet soil underneath his hoofs and fell all floors, with his last ounce of energy he looked up, the morning sun had begun to filter through the trees to revel a dark hooded figure in the distance and then he passed out.

This not a chapter, this is too clear up any confusion with what a grim (main charter) is ie abitles and culture.
Grim- The main charter Night wing (Angel of Death) is a Grim. The best way to describe them is like an alicorn they have the height (like luna and candance not like big C) , strength and the wings but not the horn, instead they have natural magic resistance and "rage". Grim do not have horn but they have magic, but they call it "rage", when they release their magic through the rage their strength and speed increase, but like unicorns they can only keep it up so long 10mins max otherwise exhaust them. Once they release rage there eyes change into a fire blue due to their magic in their blood. Their history is largely unknown but they cling to their tradition and have a vengeance against all demons and their worshipers.Their existence is unknown to most pony's because they prefer the company of other Grims.
They are called Grims because of the fate they face, very few Grims die outside of battle for they see as dieing in vain , due to their fate the Grims they have always been few in numbers. So are usually found alone or small groups wondering equestria hunting demons or mercs, when of group grim form a long term bond together, and the leader is picked for their wisdom and combat skills. Once they are last in the pack they suffer from the effects of the broken bonds this can lead to insanity.
They worship two beings, Reaper and Elune. Neither of them are thought of being good or evil. They belief that they are the embodiment of life and death for that reason they worship the reaper and elune. They take great pride in their weapons/Armour and forge them themselves, Usually engrave the weapons name in ancient equestria into the blade and their names of their bond family into their Armour. They can channel rage into their weapon and Armour lighting the runes in blue fire allow the blades to cut through the thickest hide and the Armour protect the wearer from the deadliest attacks.
