I walked into my home drenched in rain from head to toe. My shoes were incredibly moist and I was tracking mud onto my carpet. As I stepped into my apartment I looked around to make sure that everything was where it should be. Couch: check, T.V: check, Black futon I always keep in the back of the room: check. I kinda always had this paranoia where I think people are going to break into my house and steal my stuff, but that doesn't matter now. I'm tired, stressed, and hungry. All I want to do is dry up and eat something.
I walked into my bathroom, grabbed a towel, and began the process of drying myself off. Once I was finished I placed the towel back onto the rack. I left the bathroom and looked over the place. A good old fashioned All-In-One apartment building. Everything was connected in one room: A small living room, small kitchen (if you can even call it that), a small spot where I put my futon, and a small bathroom. Everything was small as hell, and I was okay with that. Some might not agree with me when I say this place is kind of nice(just a teeny tiny bit), but I don't care about other peoples opinions...or people for that matter. You can make it work if you have the most "talented" design skills like me right here. I walked into my kitchen (AGAIN, if you can even call it that) and looked into my cupboard. Everything was just Ramen noodle cups."Hmmm...what should I have? Chicken soup, chicken soup, or.... chicken soup?" Yes I think to myself out loud, don't judge me. Given the "wide" variety of soups I have, I chose chicken.
As I grabbed my steaming hot Ramen noodle cup, I looked for a place to eat, the obvious solution being my miniscule looking wooden table. As I sat there eating my soup, I was dreading on having to finish up soon, take a shower, and lay down in my "bed", Knowing I had to go to my 12 hour job again tomorrow. In case you were wondering about my oh-so interesting job, my current occupation is a video game coder. All I even do is just sit there, type till my fingers feel numb, take a lunch break, and type some more until they get cramped as all hell or my shift is over. The reason I work myself to the bone for twelve hours is because I want to be able to have my 401K ASAP. I want to retire into Oklahoma and get a GOOD house. I don't know what I'll do there and I don't care. Maybe I'll learn to play a banjo and just sit in front of my house all day. I looked around my small table to see if there was anything for entertainment value and my eyes stopped at a newspaper. A wrinkled, old, dusty newspaper. I just stared at it laying there, mocking me with what it held inside. I never found the time to throw that old piece of junk away, but even if I did I could never bring myself to do it. I knew the contents which it with-held, and I couldn't do it.
Before I could lose my thoughts with that newspaper I heard a scraping noise and looked at my bowl in which previously with-held soup, but now it was just dry and empty. I guess I must have finished it a while ago and I didn't notice. I got up and put my barren bowl into the sink. Up next, showering.

As I finished washing out my mouth with water from the toothpaste and mouthwash, with my dry new clothes on, I looked into the semi-foggy mirror above my sink. I overlooked myself and saw the same thing I see every day: My light green beanie and my dark black hoodie. Sure I don't wear the SAME thing everyday. I mean, I change my shirt underneath my hoodie, my undies, and my pants. I'm not just some slob who wears the SAME EXACT THING EVERYDAY, I thought you guys would know better from me with all the things we went through together. Like that time I ate soup. Or, or that time I walked into my apartment! Yeah, I'm getting side-tracked aren't I? ANYWAYS. I looked into the mirror and I looked at my boring old clothes. Nothing ever really stood out to me when I looked at myself, or the world in fact, anymore. Everything I looked at was bland and old, except for my eyes. My bright sapphire blue eyes that came from my mother."I should probably get going to bed." I said to myself. I walked out of the bathroom after putting my clothes from the day into my "dirty basket" and turning off everything in my house. Gotta save that electricity, you know what I'm saying? I flopped onto my futon that was barely big enough to contain my body and laid on my back staring at the ceiling in the darkness. That's all I ever really feel anymore, to be honest. The world around me keeps spinning and I just sit alone in a deep dark corner waiting for the world to implode. "When are things going to get better?" I asked as if there was someone in the room with me. I turned to my side and checked. Yup, all alone. I curled up in my futon under the blanket beginning my descent into sleep. To continue my life the way it will always be.
I fell asleep blissfully hoping to dream about something wonderful. In the darkness...All alone.
