My Escape...

The fact I hadn’t slept for over 30 hours, combined with the huge hike I took was taking it’s toll on me. I’d long since sat down, and the cool air and quietness of the forest was making me feel even more sleepy.

“You won’t be able to go out among humans much longer. But don’t worry, I’ve got a place out near here where you can stay. It’s a good thing I found you when I did.”

“You have shelter out here?”

“Yes. My dad used to take us out here to our summer home every summer. So when this stuff started to happen to me I was prepared for the worst and gathered up a ton of supplies and came out here. I own the house now as well as some of the surrounding acreage.”

“Where is it?”, I ask as I stumble getting up.

“Over this way. Let me carry your stuff for you, you look really tired”. Summer Hooves grabbed my backpack with her teeth and hoisted it onto her back before starting to walk through some trees. I didn’t protest as I followed her a ways into the forest.

Soon an older-looking two-story wooden house appeared, complete with ivy growing on the walls, a porch, and what looked like a really long driveway.

“We’ll be safe here. Come on inside, I’ll put your bag in a bedroom you can use”, Summer informed, as she walked inside the house. “Nice ears, by the way.”

“Nice… ears?”, my hand instinctively went up to the side of my head, feeling what was where my ears used to be. “GAAAAHHH!!!!” I frantically moved my hands over my head, and was relieved somewhat when they met with furry ears on the top of my head. “This… is going to take some getting used to.”

“You’re telling me”, she said in the bedroom doorway.

Then once the door had closed, I got undressed, and then fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I woke up with a start. “Where am I?” I saw my backpack on the other side of the room and quickly got up to check it.

*thump*

And then I was on the floor. I lifted my face up and looked behind me to see what tripped me.

If I wasn’t on the floor already I would have fainted.

Light brown patches of fur started growing on my legs, which were shaped abnormally and ended in small hooves. They were split down the middle, so at first I assumed that they hadn’t completed the transformation yet. My tail however, was small and furry, and did not look like any pony’s tail I’d ever seen before.

“Why is this happening to me? And why did I follow a complete stranger and go inside her house? Who cares if she’s a “magical pony”, I made a dumb move.”

I made an effort to get up, and made sure nothing was missing from my bag.

“Well nothing’s missing that I can tell. I’ve nowhere else to go, especially looking like this, so I’ll just keep an eye on her.”

I got myself dressed, tucking my tail into the loosest pants I had, and then exited the bedroom. The living room was just outside the door, and I could see the kitchen through a large wooden doorway to the right. I also saw a TV set on the wall across from me, and two large deep blue couches surrounding an ornate rug.

After having a look around the Living room, I walked into the kitchen and looked in the fridge. Unsurprisingly it was stocked with vegetarian food. I didn’t see Summer Hooves around, so I grabbed a bag of salad and put some of it into a bowl and set it at the table in the middle of the Kitchen. It was better if I prepared my food myself. My hands were starting to feel a bit clumsy however.

Halfway through my meal, I heard the front door open. “How does she open the door without hands anyways?”

“Oh, you’re awake now” she stated after she placed the mail on the table. “So, any new changes?”

“Well, I have hooves and a fuzzy tail now.”

“Fuzzy tail? What do you mean by that exactly?”

“Like it’s covered with fur, and it’s not a tail like a pony’s. I don’t think I’m turning into any kind of pony.”

“Hm. Can I see?”

“No.” My face had become red at the thought of someone else seeing my tail right then. I wasn’t a pony yet, and I wasn’t about to go walking around like one yet.

“Alright. Can you describe it to me then?”

“It’s covered with brown and some white fur, kinda triangle-ish shaped, and goes up and down pretty easily, and also to the side.”

“Wait a moment, I think I know what it is now! You’re not becoming a pony, you’re becoming a deer!”

“Wait, hold on, first ponies now deer!?”

“Well most characters in the show were ponies, but there were other races shown in the show. Dragons, griffins, and deer to name a few of the sentient ones. This would explain why you didn’t start transforming the same day I had, whatever it was must have gotten to you later. I’m still not sure how it happened.”

“And I don’t know why any of it’s happening either.”
