Betrayal, or Brethren?

"THE NIGHT, SHALL LAST, FOREVER!" was perched while a cackle of venomous laughter followed. You bowed before Nightmare Moon, fearing the smite that she would lash upon those brave enough to stand up against her. Several moments followed, where several ponies were taken away by strange stallions and mares in robes. The midnight blue was strong enough to seem to carry the Night's essence in them. The grass was seemingly comfortable as the screams of an orange Pegasus echoed through the complex as the Night Ponies took them to their destiny.

"Now, my loyal and loving subjects, go to your homes and embrace the night that I now bring you!" was the last thing you heard while you immediately galloped away along the cobblestone, with the full, now vacant, moon shining down, lighting the way. A purple unicorn that you've never seen before, bumps into you, at a near full panic that you were in.

"Oh, excuse me!" She quickly stammered, as she immediately dashed off down the moonlit road. Several more followed, while a light tap on your shoulder was enough to catch your attention. It was four of the Night Ponies, with their cloaks covering their appearance, as they stood calmly in front of you.

"Pardon us, but we were wondering if you have seen a "Twilight Sparkle," after the Maiden of  the Moon dismissed everypony. She is a purple Unicorn, to clear up any confusion". A Unicorn with a green horn stood in front of you, followed by two Earth Ponies, and a Pegasus with yellow wings.

"Yes, she went down the road, but I don't know where she went after that", You quickly respond, hoping that they will leave you alone. They quickly look in each other's directions (even though the robe somewhat blocks their eyes), and nodded to you, with the same Unicorn responding:

"Thank you, Lady Luna bless you." Was all they said, as they galloped (or flew,) down the road, into the night.

Heading into your rinky-dink house, you lay down on your bed and stare at the ceiling, your orange mane plastered under you.

"What could this mean?" You started to think out-loud, under your blankets as a bright flash of light appears, lighting up the downstairs kitchen. The kitchen simply consists of a fridge, a table with two chairs, a microwave, and a pantry. Not to mention the window that now, peers out into the night. You quickly get up, arming your mouth with a dagger, readying to punish any would-be thief. You slowly creep down the stairs, and you see something you couldn't believe. The same purple Unicorn from the Summer Sun Celebration.

"What are you doing here?" You ask, more like demand, as you prefer not to have someone burst into your home, especially at this time of night, or day, whatever... The Unicorn quickly looks up to you, and goes into a frenzy of words:

"Oh, I'm sorry to meet you like this, but the Night Ponies are after me, and I have to get the Elements of Harmony, and gather up everypony, so I can stop Nightmare Moon, and restore Equestria to its proper place!" She quickly spat out, seeming to be in a hurry. Before you could respond, three knocks occurred at the door, followed with:

"To whomever is here, we would like a word with you". Was said, seemingly more demanding than kind. You head up to the door, ignoring the Unicorn in the background, apparently doing something. You head to the door, opening it to find the same group of Night Ponies that were asking you the questions. They waste no time in asking why they are here;

"We're sorry to meet you again on such occasion, but we are still looking for the purple Unicorn, and one of the brethren saw a flash of light in here. May we come in, and search for the fugitive?" calmly came from the green Unicorn. You felt a burning gaze in your mane, as you stared at the Night Ponies, decisions being made in your head.
