Early Morning 1
Description: A few weeks after the Fall Festival, your character is getting to get used to your new school.
Note: Students at Starswirl pick at least one elective class per semester. Because you were a transfer, in Act 1 you are put in Chemistry with Twilight until you pick a class according to the girl you are pursuing. The class you take is different on every route.
I do not know if this feature is still in the game or not but it is not plot essential so I left it in.
It was weird how fast the leaves changed colors. The Fall Festival seemed like it was only yesterday. Three weeks had passed by quickly.
My elders always said that time goes by faster as you get older. I didn’t know what they meant until just recently. Between work and adjusting to this place, time slipped away from me a bit faster than I expected. And though I was capable of juggling many things, that was starting to get to me. In little ways.
I was sleeping in a bit later on the weekends.
I spent my lunches and many days after school in the library to catch up on homework.
Studying late at night was ‘necessary’ these days.
Ever the loyal friend, Twilight stuck by me through the many changes we had endured. She seems to be adjusting better. We ate lunch together sometimes and I’d walk her to her homeroom every morning. On the few days when I overslept, she waited for me, even if she was a few minutes late herself…though those mornings were accompanied by a stern talking-to as well.
Lecture or not, she always had something to talk about. Homework, chemistry, the girl-crush she had on Celestia. And I would be a good friend and pretend to listen to her. It’s easier for to do that in the morning, when I am too tired to talk back.
But honestly, just having someone there to listen to was a Godsend. I would go in and out of her rants, picking up every other word, and she’d be happy with me occasionally nodding at her complaints.
Meanwhile, I’d be in my own world, thinking about how the leaves kept changing, how time seemed to be moving faster, how I was just moving through the rhythm of change.
“Um, ___?” Twilight spoke up. “Are you listening to me?”
“Yeah, but I’m also thinking about…um, class.”
“Is it about your elective? Psychology?”
“Yep. It’s really interesting, but it’s a lot of work too. Everything there is so new to me. ”
“…grmmguph…” She mumbled something.
“What?”
“…chemistry is a lot quieter without you.”
“Really? Even with Pinkie Pie next to you?”
“Hmph. That’s not what I meant.”
“What’s wrong? Miss me that badly?” I poked her shoulder. She kept pouting.
“…yes.”
“Really?”
Twilight moved slightly closer to me, but did not look up. A flashback of our past came to mind; I remembered when we used to be the same height. God, how does twelve years feel like yesterday?
“I’m still…meeting people. I’m trying to. It’s difficult when everyone else has a circle of friends and you’re by yourself.”
“Ah. Well, what about that Pinkie girl? She’s seems really friendly. Isn’t she worth spending time with?”
Twilight became more annoyed at that comment.
“You’re not listening! I wish…I wish you didn’t leave the class, okay?” She confessed the truth, then went silent. All things considered, we still spent a lot of time together. Why she was being so possessive?
“Oh Twilight…we’re not going to suddenly stop speaking to each other just because we are in different classes.”
“I know.” She looked mad still. I probably was still missing the point. “You’re making friends.”
“Are you asking me if I am making friends?”
“No. I know you are. That Rainbow Dash girl is your friend.”
“Haha, oooh. So you are jealous?”
“I am NOT jealous! But…you’ve hanging out with her a loy. She’s not good for you. She’s a wild-child. She doesn’t take her school work as seriously as she should.”
“If it makes you feel better, we’re not really friends-friends. I mean, we are friends, but we just hang out occasionally. And only for like a few minutes at a time. We’re like acquaintances. We’ve got barely anything in common.”
“So why do you spend time with her?”
“I usually don’t mean to. But…” The rolling wheels of a long board roared behind us. “…she finds me.”
“Yo Newbie, up top!” A high-pitched voice grabbed my ears’ attention.
Rainbow yelled just in time for me to turn around and high-five her open palm. She didn’t slow down as she slapped mine back, and kept gliding to the front entrance like she was surfing.
We had to practice that move afew times to get it right.
"See? We just say hello to each other and…Twilight?” I looked around but Twilight wasn't next to me. Stamping her feet loudly, Twilight stubbornly walked away. “Twilight! Wait up! She was just saying ‘hi’! What did I do now?!”
Great, another one of her moods.
