oooh.. look a vortex
Load Full StoryTHE UNDEAD SURVIVOR
It was a beautiful summer day on the farm. The smell of fresh baked bread was sweet in the air. Stretching, breathing in the smell of fresh apples. Rolling out of my bed the feeling of falling surprised me. Opening my eyes to see the ground rushing at me, twisting at the last moment before hitting the ground. Looking up into the old oak tree, begging to wonder if the fall had done any damage to my spine, a black camo hoodie and back pack was still in the tree. Wanting to see if my body could move I curled my legs into my chest and thrust them out pushing myself up. with out losing much momentum and charging up the tree, twisting and jumping through and around the branches. It didn't take long to reach the hoodie and pack, discovering no serious damage was done. slipping on the armored hoodie and jumping out of the tree I Being prepared for the fall, this time bending my knees and rolled when colliding with the ground. Turning toward the smell of food with a smile. headed to the rather large farm house that me and some other survivors were calling home, but I changed direction and ran when the sound of a dieing scream hit my ears. When I got to the source of the noise it was to late.
I was brought back to reality from the memory by crowing. "dam birds." I muttered, birds god how they infuriated me, they always meant the undead were near by as the realization hit I slowly turned around. Behind me was a small group of five zombies. Whit out even thinking I bolted toward the edge of the roof and jumped. I landed in the building next to it by going through a blown out wall. When I was back on my feet I took in my surroundings. All around me was rubble and blood, some distinctive fetchers like a sink and couch that told me I was in someones apartment. Slowly and carefully I made my way through the building, working my way to the roof. When I reached the roof and began using what rubble I could find. Once the door was blocked off I realized how tired I was. Moving some peaces of wood to make a bed I noticed the building that I was just on. It was covered in zombies, but one item caught my attention. A stone statue in the shape of a griffin. It made me wonder how long it had been since I pretended to fight their solders.
I lost track of time years ago I think its march but I don’t know. Removing the thought from my mind I went to the makeshift bed, laying on my back with my head on my backpack I stared at the moon. I began to worry that I wouldn't make it much longer, so I did something that I had never done before. I began to pray. The zombies were getting smarter and faster that or I was getting slower and dumber. I didn't know which one that scared me more, finishing my prayer I drifted off to a light sleep.
Being jolted awake at the sound of feet on metal and fists on wood I realized a horde was upon me.Quickly tossing my pack on and tightened my belt that held 2 machete's, a hunting knife, and bottle of rum. As soon as I was ready to move on the first zombie punched his way through the door. Bolting toward the fire escape I began my decent by jumped from leg to leg straight down. Landing in what was left of an ally way I realized my deadly mistake. I was trapped, to my back was a toppled transport vehicle and in front of me a brick wall with a swirling vortex.... “Wait a what?!” And sure enough in front of me on the brick wall is a black swirling vortex. Deciding to not stop and question how it got their or were it led, I just took a swig of rum and ran. Only one zombie got between me and what might be freedom and was quickly decapitated it with a swift swing of my arm. Reaching the portal without stopping or slow down, I did what naturally came to me, jumping.
Landing with a machete in each hand and ready to swing, noticing that there was no current danger I sheathed one of my weapons and flipped my hood up to shield my eyes from the sun. "Fuck'n sun" I thought taking in my surroundings, around me was another ally, but not the same one with the truck, brick wall, zombies or vortex. In fact there was nothing other than the two buildings. Walking out of the ally I was hit with the smell of fresh baked goods and flowers. This made me uneasy for two reasons one was the last time thees smells were around I had to massacre a family and the people I called friends. The other reason was the lack on life, other than me the only living thing I saw was a flock of birds. "dam fucking birds." I muttered through clenched teeth.
Walking through the town fighting the urge to eat what the food that was lying around and pack what I could carry. The reason for this was because I didn’t know if it was poisoned (yes I’m very cautious of food and the dam infection, piss off). Entering the center town I stopped dead in my tracks, all around me were kiosks some still standing but most of them were destroyed. There had been a struggle, examining the center further something got my attention. “no blood.” I whispered to myself. Beginning to studying the tracks on the ground I was shocked to see nothing but hove prints and rather large claw marks. “What the fuck made this?” I asked no one “a griffin?” laughing at the idea of a mythological creature hunting and probably kidnapping horses.
Following the tracks nearing the edge of town I heard someone coming my way. Running to the nearest doorway and crouching in the shadows drawing my weapons. My jaw hit the floor when I saw what was running, a yellow horse with red hair and a red bow in its hair. 'Is that Apple bloom?' I tough as the horse toppled over a twig and face planted. That is when I heard someone laughing. peeking my head out to see what was the source was, shocked when I saw three griffins in steel armor walking towered the terrified horse. “P-please d-don’t k-kill Me.” the foal stammered. 'that's fucking Apple bloom!'
“Oh don’t worry we have other plans for you ponies.” the lead griffin snarled with a smile that sent a shiver down my spine. Apple bloom started to ball her eyes out as a different griffin pulled out chains, he was about to put them on her when I decided that I had seen enough, sticking one of my blades in the ground I stood up yelled “Hey bird shit!” and chucked my hunting knife at the griffins eye. It landed with a nice quiet thud, the griffin screamed in pain clutching his eye. He was dead before he hit the ground.
“What? Who? How?” was all the third griffin got out. Charging him and planting my machetes firmly in his chest before he could understand what was happening. One got stuck as I tried to remove them, turning to the lead griffin with only one weapon out I began to study him. He was wielding a sword, what looked like a steel chest plate and was slowly advancing towered me. “What are you?” he asked. “Who me? I am many things. I am a fighter, a craftier, a killer, a survivor and most of all I your worst fucking nightmare.” as I finished answering his question we rushed each other. Blocking a few of his attacks and managing to braking one of his claw/finger thingies, forcing him to drop his blade. Sweeping his feet out from under him and stepped on his chest preventing him from running.
“Any last words?” I asked. “Turn around.” he said coolly, whipping around expecting more solders and greeted with nothing. Before I could turned back around the griffin pounced on my back biting my shoulder. Dropping my machete and prying the griffins jaws open flinging him into a near building. With blood dripping from my shoulder I walked up to the unconscious griffin picking him up by his beak and bashed the back of his head into the building until it caved in. Retrieving my weapons and to turning Apple bloom. She was curled up in a ball shivering and crying, placing my hand on her I asked “Are you okay?” all I got in response was “p-pleas d-don’t e-eat m-m-me.” I face palmed and dragged her to one of the buildings and leaned her up against the door. One she was out of sight I began walking carefully in the direction that the griffins had come.
About three minutes out of town near a forest there was a griffin camp with at least twelve griffins and the residence of the town. 'Well isn’t this just fuck'n great I got sucked out of the zombie apocalypse and into Equestria.' I thought 'they could be useful to our plan' said an unknown voice in my head. 'Went nuts once don’t feel like doing it again' I thought as the memories of chaining the undead up and “torturing” them filed my mind. taking off my pack and looking through it, all I had was two half empty lighters, one army knife, a package of fifty arrow heads, a solar panel with a USB port, an iPod with a charging wire and parts to a hunting rifle and half a magazine.
I assembled the rifle and used the scope to scout the griffins to identify the leaders. But after a few minutes the mass majority left leaving behind only five griffins to look after the camp. That was when I got a plan not a good plan, but a plan nonetheless. I put the rifle away and moved toward the camp, it didn’t take long for the griffins to notice me.
“Who are you and what do you want?” asked the griffin that I assumed was the leader. “The answer to that depends on the answer to my question, are you guys slave traders?” I asked in return. The griffins traded amused looks “sure why not.” one of the other griffins answered. I began to eye the griffin that answered and noticed that he had a ring of keys on his belt. I smiled and asked “so you willing to sell?” he nodded and asked “what are you looking for?”
we all walked up to the line of horses that were chained to each other. I walked up to a very large red horse that was more bound that the others, when I looked in his eyes I saw he was glaring at me. “I would ask why this one is bound so tightly but I think I know why.” the griffin with the keys smiled and asked. “So what do you have to trade.” I rested my arm on the horses head witch infuriated him even more. “I don’t have any cash, but I could upgrade your weapons.” I told him. He agreed to the terms and went back to the camp.
When the griffin was out of ear shot I whispered in to the horses ear “I’m hear to help.” and walked over to the griffin who was welding a very dull sword. “Upgrade our weapons and we will give you the big red one.” the griffin stated “ha ha. No. I will upgrade your weapons and you will give me all of the horses.” I told him as I placed my hands on the grips of my machetes.
“Half of them aren’t even worth the upgrades.” said another griffin as he picked up a bow and arrows. The griffin with the keys got up in my face and said “you will upgrade our weapons and we might let you take the red one and two others.” I then garbed him by the back of his neck and slammed him into a tree drawing a machete and placed it on the griffins neck, the other griffins took up arms and began to approach me. Before the griffin I had pinned could tell them to stop I slit his through and grabbed the keys.
“Stop or we will kill the ponies!” a griffin with a spear threaten. I walked up to a white horse with a horn on her head and three diamonds on her ass and whispered “go with it.” in her ear and ran the dull edge of my blade across her neck leaving behind a trail of blood. “You think I give a flying fuck about the horses?!” I asked as I turned and threw the pony to the ground with the keys by her head, the lock on her horn preventing her from using it broke on impact. The griffins had formed a line and had weapons drawn. I bull rushed one knocking the wind out of him (a stray arrow broke one of the chains off of the massive red horse), I slammed him in the ground and ran my machete through his rib cage piercing one of his lungs. I turned to face the other three and got hit with an arrow in my right arm, I was caught off guard and dropped my machete the two with spears took advantage of this and charged at me. I blocked one of the spears but the other planted its self in my right arm and pinched a nerve. I ran my other machete in to his gut and then pulled the spear out.
The griffin I blocked ran at me and tried to impale me, but was stopped by a massive red blur. I decided not to interfere and turned my attention to the final griffin, when I turned to look at the griffin with the bow I was hit in the left shoulder with an arrow. I began walking toward the mortified griffin tacking arrows all the way to him, when I was ten feat away I charged him knocking him to the ground. Before he could recover I placed my foot on his through and began choking him “I don’t need my hands to kill.” I told him, just as I was about to twist my foot and break his neck I was hit in the back with a blast. The last thing I saw was a line of 20 ponies in gold armor.
