My return

“There’s nothing you can do!” said a sky blue pegasus mare with a light red mane.

“I can try.” responded a black pegasus stallion with a rainbow mane.

“You wouldn’t survive the blast.” Said the concerned mare trying to hold back tears.

“Maybe but I’m going to try. I love you.” The stallion said crying before running off.

Shortly after Kindo ran off there was an enormous explosion that anypony could hear for miles.

“Commander!” Spitfire said.

“Yes Captain what is it?” Kindo asked whipping his eyes.

“Have you been crying?” Spitfire asked very surprised that his eyes where red.

“State your business Captain!” Kindo ordered in a broken voice.

“I gave Co-captain Soarin a week long vacation.” Spitfire said waiting for him to explode.

“Yes. I know.” Kindo said thinking back to the last time he saw Soarin.

“You know! But how?” Spitfire was obviously stunned by this information.

“Never mind that Captain. You’re Dismissed.” Kindo said in his usual commanding voice.

~~~~~~~~~Soarin’s POV~~~~~~~~~

In the streets outside Sugar Cube Corner Soarin is waiting for the fan who wants to meet him so badly when he sees her. The beautiful sky blue pegasus with a rainbow mane that saved his life and his pie, the one pony Soarin actually wanted to see. She was accompanied by a yellow pegasus with a pink mane, Fluttershy if he remembered correctly. Soarin walked over to the two pegasi as they landed.

“Hello I’m-” He started

“Soarin. Yeah I know who you are. My name is Rainbow Dash.” She said

“Takes the fun out if meeting new ponies.” Soarin offered his hoof.

“I can only imagine.” Dash said while shaking his hoof.

After a few house of partying, playing games, and a dance or two Soarin realized he had nowhere to stay for the night. The party had winded down as Luna’s moon rose into the sky and the stars became visible. Soarin started asking the few ponies that were left if there was a hotel nearby but the closest hotel was in Cloudsdale. Soarin went outside not wanting to fly home but had no other option so he unfurled his wings and prepared to take off.

Before Soarin took off he saw Dash looking sad but before he could get to her she took off. Soarin followed her and tried to catch up when she landed on a large cloud house he landed beside her.

“What’s wrong Dash?” Soarin was concerned because he knew how strong she usually was.

“Nothing.” She said in a way that wouldn’t convince a foal.

“If you don’t want to talk about it we could talk about something else.”

“It’s just yesterday was horrible but it turned out alright.” Dash stopped herself from sounding stupid.

“And?” Soarin asked knowing that there was more to it.

“NOTHING!” she yelled before going inside leaving Soarin to wonder what went wrong.

‘Did I do something to upset her? Why was she crying?’ Sorin’s mind was racing with questions and he was starting to worry about their potential relationship. He tried to remember everything about the party but there was still no answer to his questions. ‘Think. Focus. Concentrate. We were having fun until she went outside for some fresh air but I didn’t see her after that until she went home.’

~~~~~~~~~~~~Princess Luna’s POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Inside the hall of heroes Princess Luna, a tall alicorn mare with a dark purple coat and a deep blue mane with a light purple outline, was talking to somepony through the alicorn amulet.

“We demand to know what happened.” Luna commanded confused.

“I don’t know what happened but I’m assuming it’s something I either didn’t do or haven’t done yet.”

“How old are you right now?” Luna asked becoming even more confused.

“I’m 307. Why? Do you have the scroll?” The necklace asked in a rough voice.

“What scroll?” Luna was getting annoyed with not knowing but her sister walked in with a scroll.

“I have your scroll and if your only 307 then you just started didn’t you.” Princess Celestia asked.

“You should know Celestia. Since Nightmare Moon is no more, Princess Luna would probably want to know.”

“Know what?” Luna was getting angry from all of these secrets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Spitfire’s POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Commander!” Spitfire said with a salute as Commander Kindo walked up to her.

“Captain Spitfire. You wanted to see me?” Kindo asked.

“Yes, but how did you know?” Spitfire gave a look of bewilderment.

“Doesn’t matter. What is your question Captain?” Now it was Kindo’s turn to be confused as Spitfire pulled a scroll out of her bag.

“Why did you give this to me?” Spitfire said surprised at the look he was giving it.

“Don’t let me see that Captain.” Kindo ordered looking away before leaving.

‘What was that all about?’ Spitfire thought before reading the scroll again. The meaning of it was lost to her but that didn’t stop her from wanting to know more.

~~~~~~~~~~Rainbow Dash’s POV~~~~~~~~~~~

Rainbow Dash woke up from the bright rays of sunlight invading her bedroom once filled with Wonderbolts merchandise but now the walls are empty. She got up and started her daily rituals, brushing her teeth, taking a shower and using the water to flatten her mane. As she was eating a bowl of oats, she was thinking about last night and everything that happened. ‘I shouldn’t have done that to him. He did nothing wrong. Soarin just wanted to help and I just yelled at him and walked away.’

Rainbow Dash decided to make it up to Soarin when she saw him again so she started looking around Ponyville. She knew Soarin was in no shape to fly home last night so he should be in town. As Dash was flying around she heard a scream coming from Sweet Apple Acres and went to investigate. She found the Cutie Mark Crusaders standing outside their clubhouse looking worried until they saw Rainbow Dash and immediately waved her down.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders or CMC for short consist of three fillies, Scootaloo, Sweetie Bell, and Applebloom. Scootaloo is an orange pegasus with a dark purple mane. Sweetie Bell is a unicorn with a white coat and a purple and pink mane. Applebloom is an earth pony with a cream colored coat and a red mane with a light purple bow tie in her hair.

Dash opened the door to their clubhouse and found Soarin sleeping on the wooden floor. She walked up to him and tapped him with her hoof and he felt cold so Dash took him to Twilight’s treebrary. Twilight’s treebrary looks like a library on the first floor but all the book shelves are carved into the tree itself.

“Twilight!” Dash yelled concerned about Soarin.

“There is no yelling in a-” Twilight stopped herself upon seeing Soarin.
