Cuppy-Cakes.

"All you gotta do is take a cup of flour
Add it to the mix
Now just mix in something sweet, not sour
A bit of salt, Just a pinch
Baking these treats is such a sinch
Add a teaspoon of Vanilla
Add a little more, and you count to four
And you never get your Fill-a!"
It was a song that Rainbow Dash had heard several times before, but had never quite memorized. Now she wished she had. She had to make some cupcakes for Pinkie's surprise birthday party, and she didn't have a clue how to.
She looked around her house in the sky for a cookbook.
Not an easy task, considering that her house was in a constant state of disarray. Still, she managed to find one that would work. She brought it into the kitchen and got to work.
As she was gathering the ingredients, there was a loud crash at the door. "What the hay?" exclaimed Rainbow, as she investigated the noise. When she opened the door, she saw a dazed Derpy standing, quite literally, with her head in the clouds. It had seemed that the towns mailmare had smacked into the side of Rainbow's house.
"You alright?" asked Rainbow dash. "The..uhh..house ran into me." replied Derpy. "Yeah....sure it did.." Dash said sarcastically.
"Well then if you're sure you're alright I gotta get back to cooking" "COOKING? WHATCHA COOKIN?!? IS IT MUFFINS??" Derpy then ran to the kitchen and Dash could hear her rummaging through the fridge. "...No...it's cupcakes." "You should totally try muffins instead" replied Derpy.
"No, Pinkie Pie likes cupcakes, so I'm making cupcakes" "Oookay suit yourself" -mumbles- "muffins are better"
"So whatcha makin 'em for?" "They're for Pinkie's birthday party" replied Dash. "How many ponies are gonna be there?" asked Derpy "Seven...eight if you count Gummy" Derpy looked into the mixing bowl "Well you're gonna need alot more than this" she then proceeded to dump an entire carton of eggs into the mix.
"What are you doing, Derpy?" "Relax, I make muffins all the time. This can't be much different can it?" said Derpy. "As long as you know what your doing" said Dash and she let Derpy take over the cooking of the cupcakes, until they had three trays of cupcakes ready to bake.
"Alright, let's see how long it says to cook these...it says 30 minutes" "THIRTY MINUTES?! Those will never be done in time!"
Dash ponders for a moment. "I know!" Dash exclaimed "We could double the heat, and have it done in half the time." "Sounds good to me" said Derpy. They cranked up the temperature and put the cupcakes in the oven.
As soon as they had put the cupcakes in the oven they heard a faint knock on the door. "anypony home?" Fluttershy asked meekly. "Nobody here but us chickens" Dash snickered. Derpy whispered "I'm a chicken? that explains soo much." "oh if it's just you chickens I'll come back some other time" Fluttershy replied softly.
"Nah you can come in Fluttershy." Dash said. Fluttershy came in and saw Derpy walking around on her hind legs, clucking like a chicken. "Don't mind her she's just being Derpy." Then they all sat down and discussed fire safety due to the lack of rain in the past weeks.
A little while later Derpy started sniffing and asked "Hey, do you smell something burnin'?" Dash jumped up and yelled "THE CUPCAKES!!" and dashed into the kitchen.
She opened the oven and pulled the pans out. Instead of delicious cupcakes,her eyes beheld flaming black rocks. Dash was looking sadly at her ruined cupcakes. Derpy came in and said "The muffins came out perfectly. They look delicious!" "Sure they do." sighed Dash, "You want them?" "SURE!!" yelled an excited Derpy as she grabbed a charred rock of a cupcake and started gnawing on it. Then Dash looked at Fluttershy, and said "Well...better tell Twilight to go to plan B..."
