The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (or: I Hope You Like What You're Doing, Because You're Going to Have to Live With it)
Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,
At this first line, Twilight paused. She was still getting used to her new title, and it made her uncomfortable to know that others called her that before she did herself.
I know you must be quite busy—
She wasn't, actually. By Twilight's request, Celestia had agreed to introduce her to her new duties gradually.
But I am a curious pony and I couldn't help but make a small request. I had never heard of a unicorn turning into an alicorn, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd love to be able to interview you sometime.
Of course, if you'd prefer that the interview be just between us, it would be kept confidential, but I would love to be able to at least satisfy my own curiosity.
If your answer is yes, then I'd love for you to stop by tomorrow night (or whenever works for you) and we can get started.
Sincerely,
Doctor Hooves
She took a breath and levitated over a quill and parchment. She had heard of this Doctor Hooves—supposedly he was working on some sort of time travel contraption for those who couldn't use magic—but knew nothing about him beyond that.
Doctor Hooves,
I would be honored to tell you about the experience. Right now I ask that the interview remain private, but maybe we can arrange something if you think others would like to read it.
Twilight Sparkle
A thousand times Twilight wrote another letter—I'm afraid I can't make it, Spike has gotten a cold, Princess Celestia requested me, Rainbow Dash needed an audience, Rarity wanted a model, I have to pet-sit for Fluttershy—but she could never bring herself to send one, and they never found their way to paper.
Eventually she took a deep breath, the way Cadence had taught her, and resolved to go to the stupid interview. It was private, anyway, and he seemed like a nice enough pony.
She wore a simple dress that Rarity had made her. Spike knew should we be out, but the letter had said "Just between us," and "us" did not include Spike.
Her gentle knocking on the door was almost immediately opened by a smiling earth pony. "Ah, my dear Princess!" he said with a bow.
"Er … hello," said Twilight. "Um, you're Doctor Hooves?"
"That I am." He stepped aside. "Please, come in."
It was a humble home. There was a table a meter or two past the door with some sort of recording device and a notepad. A small fireplace kept the house cozy, and an impressive amount of books lined the walls.
"Wow. You've got a nice library here."
He grinned. "Thank you! It took a while to build. But I hear you've got a nice collection of your own, haven't you?"
"Yes. But I couldn't keep it nearly as neat as this place on my own."
"Perhaps sometime I could help you. Well, if you're ready to begin, you can take a seat. I have so much to ask you."
"Great. Let's get started."
The Doctor had a way of making Twilight feel comfortable despite her nervousness. It was something about the way he acted: if you pretend that nothing is awkward, maybe nothing is.
"I'll be recording this if you don't mind," he said.
"Not at all. Well, as long as you're the only one who listens to it," she replied, giving a warm smile and a slight blush.
"All right then. Oh, let me pour you some wine."
"That's fine…" Twilight trailed off. The pony was only trying to make her comfortable. She took a small sip of the dry liquid, licking the remaining drops from her muzzle.
"So, first question!" Doctor Hooves leafed through the notepad until he found a page covering in a messy scrawl. "As an earth pony, I don't know what it's like to be a plain unicorn. Would you describe that for me?"
"Of course," she replied. "But I really don't know how to explain it. I mean, I've always had magic. Except for that one time with Discord, and Sunset Shi—"
"What was that like?" he interrupted. "What was it like to get your magic back again?"
"With Sunset Shimmer, it was all just one new thing after another. Everything in that…other world was different, and after the initial shock, I just kinda forgot about magic."
"Fascinating," he said, scribbling madly at the notepad. "And with Discord?"
"It was a little while ago, so I don't remember it perfectly." She paused for a moment, struggling to find the right words. "There was also a lot of shock there. But Rarity lost her horn, too, and Rainbow and Fluttershy lost their wings, so it wasn't so bad. I'm sure the labyrinth would've been easier with my magic. I know a few spells that definitely would've come in handy. Even then, though, I didn't have much time to think about it. I just focused on finding my friends again."
"So it was fine?"
"Well, I wouldn't say it was pleasant, but things worked out, didn't they?"
"They did." He brought the quill to his muzzle thoughtfully before scratching down a few more notes. "But your special talent is magic. What would you have done if you hadn't gotten your horn back? And what was it like when you finally got it back?"
"Well, in the labyrinth, sometimes I just tried to levitate a branch out of my path and I couldn't, and I think that's when it hit me the hardest. I really can't do anything without magic. I would've found a way to move on, I guess, but it would've been hard. Especially not being Princess Celestia's student anymore…." Twilight bit her lip at the thought. "Um, well, the only reason I got my horn back was because Discord had won. Regaining magic was only a small, really really small victory for me. It…this is going to sound weird, but I guess it didn't feel all that special."
"Do you think your friend Rarity felt the same way?"
"Rarity was still obsessed with that giant rock. I don't think she cared either way."
"Oh. I guess you're right about that." He laughed softly and took another sip of wine. "Second question: Did you have any trouble adjusting to or controlling your wings when you first got them?"
Twilight smiled and raised one of the objects in question. "I still have trouble. No idea how I pulled off flying that first day, but I certainly won't be doing that again anytime soon. And sleeping's a pain."
"How so?"
"I can't keep the wings closed. They just keep popping out and trying to fly!"
"Odd," said Doctor Hooves with a chuckle, and he poured her another glass.
They laughed their way through an hour or two of more questions and slightly drunken answers before the Doctor stopped talking.
"What?" asked Twilight.
"It's nothing," he said. "Just something I've been wondering about, and I don't know whether or not I should ask it."
"Ask away, Doctor," she said, hiding a small hiccup with her hoof.
He slid his hooves a few centimeters toward her and gave a sly grin.
"Are hornjobs real?"
"Exc…excuse me?"
"Er, sorry. I have heard that—how do I phrase this delicately—a unicorn's horn is very sensitive. In addition to being used for magic, it can also be stimulated for sexual purposes. Is this incorrect?"
"Um, y-yeah…I mean, it's true." Twilight felt her face burn crimson. "Did you…were you never, er, involved with a unicorn?"
"I was," he said, "I just wanted to hear it from you. Now, is wing grooming also sexually stimulating?"
"I don't know," she said, "and I don't feel comfortable answering these questions."
"Of course you don't. My apologies. Know that I am using this information purely for scientific purposes. Are you sure that you don't know?"
Twilight placed her hooves firmly on the table, an embarrassed frown shaping her face. "Mister Hooves—"
"Doctor."
"Whatever. I think I've said enough. I'll be leaving now." She stood, tripping for a moment over her dress, and made for the door.
The brown pony rushed frantically to block her path. "No, wait! I'm sorry. My actions were inexcusable. But will you excuse them? I still have so much to ask you."
"You're drunk," said Twilight.
"I…I guess I am, Princess. But so are you. Isn't life so much funner with a drink or two?"
"No! Look, maybe we can continue another time. Right now—"
"I've crossed a line, haven't I? I'm sorry. But I can assure you, all of this will be kept completely confidential. Now I have just a few more questions and then we're done, if you would be so kind, please?"
Twilight bit her lip and gave a soft sigh. "You don't give up, do you? Fine. Ask what you will."
"So glad you agree. Er, what about my earlier question? Are you sure you don't know?"
The alcohol left a droning buzz in her head, a soft mist that gave everything an almost dream-like quality. So easy to pretend this wasn't real….
"Maybe it isn't," she said to herself.
"Pardon?"
"N-Nothing," Twilight stammered. "I guess I might as well tell you…. Rainbow was really most happy when I got the wings. A 'new flying buddy,' she said. So she, um, taught me how to groom them once. But—but that was it! Just grooming, like friends. Um. But the wing thing is also true, I think."
"I see."
Twilight crossed her legs protectively.
"You think?" asked Doctor Hooves.
"I've, um, never gone farther than that."
"Hmm."
There was an awkward pause.
"We're not think of the same thing," said the Doctor suddenly.
"Wh-What?"
"At least, not if you're thinking of what I think you are."
"What am I thinking, then?"
"You're thinking of how to prevent it," he said, "and I'm thinking of how to proceed."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Impatience crept into his voice. "Experiments, Twilight Sparkle! There is more to you than this modest unicorn. I know that your mind is as curious as mine. You are a princess, Twilight. Open your mind and try new things, even if just for tonight!"
She took a breath. "Are you asking me to…?" Twilight trailed off, heart speeding up a little at the earth pony's implication.
"I think I am, Twilight."
The alicorn closed her eyes and thought.
"I…I guess I am a little curious."
His eyes widened. "Really! That's great! Um, I guess, then, I won't need to be recording anymore. I can write it all down later."
Twilight brought her hooves closer to her as he approached, awfully self-conscious and uncomfortable and wondering why the heck she had agreed to come here in the first place.
She could hear his quiet breathing, he was so close to her. His eyes met hers, and she gave a slight nod, but more than anything it was an invitation—
His muzzle tracing her horn, a million sparks lighting inside of her, electricity running from the tip of her horn to down there…
His tongue brushed too lightly, sending more lightning bolts through her….
"Pl…please, just the wings…"
He drew back, and Twilight was embarrassed to see her wings spread wide and fully erect. Why was this happening agai—
All concerns left as the Doctor took a wing in his hooves and nibbled at a feather, bringing his mouth down to her skin and nuzzling the base of the feather. A wave of pleasure coursed through her as he continued preening down to where the wing connected to her body. Twilight gasped, her legs kicking out uncontrollably.
"It…it's true, Doctor," she panted. "The wing thing…works."
He paused in the preening, and Twilight felt herself disappointed. She was really aroused now, and could feel cool dampness around her marehood, but Princesses don't do these things, Twilight, you have to stop!
"Is that…your last question?" she asked, bringing her legs closer together and averting her eyes from the Doctor's poorly disguised erection.
"I guess it is," he said. "Then you'll be leaving?"
They were two ponies, and they were both disappointed that nothing had gone farther. Surely it would be cruel to deny a body's wishes.
"I think I'll stay," said Twilight.
He led her to the bedroom and she gently set her clothes on the floor.
A short kiss, then light caresses over her body, stroking, hooves feeling their way down, across her wings, her hips, her legs, and back up again, and oh so shyly touching her marehood.
She pushed against him, felt his lips meet her thighs and her…
He teased her, brushing all of her except…
Then he pulled away and took her mane in his hooves, kissed her and brought his member up against her snatch and she felt so full, somehow so complete but then he had left her and entered, left her and re-entered.
Forgetting any doubts she had had, Twilight let the stallion take her.
She moaned as he penetrated her most private spot, each thrust sending her closer and closer to the peak of ecstasy—
He gripped her shoulders fiercely and she gasped, feeling her body shudder and tighten, release, and she felt his seed flood her—
And the two ponies came together as a new day was born.
