Dear Princess Celestia,

The Last Letter (Re-mastered)

Princess Celestia sighed as she relaxed on the soft, spider silk cushions (made with permission from the spiders of course). Her long flowing mane and tail swished in their own wind, making a soft rustling sound in her quiet room. The sun peaked through her windows and ran across her carpeted floor like cats, making the mice-like shadows almost invisible. The Princess closed her eyes and gave a small, relaxed smile. 'Oh if I could do this every day, maybe I might be able to handle those pesky nobles,' she though to herself.

Lazily, Celestia glanced outside at her afternoon sun that was being framed by two clouds. 'Perhaps Lulu could lower the sun for me today,' contemplated Princess Celestia. 'After all, I did lower the moon for her last week.' Slowly, Celestia rose to her hooves and began walking toward the door, only to be interrupted by a surge of magic, a bright flash of light, and the sound of a scroll and a box hitting the ground. The Princess frowned in confusion. "A letter? Did Jay Feather send me a friendship report?' But what is that box for? The frown turned into a small smile. 'I'm glad I came up with those reports, they seem to be helping him so well.' Using her magic, she levitated the scroll up to her face and studied it closely.

It was a real scroll, but it was slightly larger than her regular scrolls and was a lighter color. An old red ribbon was tied around it, just barely hiding the scroll's seal. The Princess frowned deeply before turning her gaze to the box on her room's floor. It was a deep red color with a beautiful black ribbon around it. Celestia picked up the box using her magic and inspected every inch of it. Slowly, she began untying the ribbon only to stop when three words scratched themselves into the side.

Open The Box. Princess Celestia immediately dropped the box and pushed it away from her before grabbing the scroll once more. 'Who in Equestria would send me this?!' She thought before opening the scroll.

Dear Princess Celestia,

I'm so very sorry that your getting this letter so late, but it was the only way that I could talk to you again.

Celestia frowned and looked at the bottom of the scroll, only to realize there was a concealment spell cast on the name. She began reading the letter again.

Before I keep writing, you've probably realized there was a concealment spell cast on my name. Well it will go away after you read this entire letter, and then you might actually believe that I've written to you again. The Princess frowned again. 'Who wrote this?!'

I must admit, writing to you again is exiting, I mean, I've thought of millions of things to say to you and now that I can say them to you, words escape me. 'How did this pony even manage to write to me personally?!' Celestia thought.

Now you're probably wondering how I'm able to write to you personally, Celestia face-hooved.

The truth is that you gave me a spell many many years ago that let's me send letters to you. I was one of your protege's, but now I'm dead. The solar princess froze. 'Dead?!' She thought.

The only way I was able to get in touch with you, was with a spell that was in the restricted section of the Canterlot library. I have to admit, being dead isn't so bad, I got to meet some of your older protege's like (my idol yay!) Starswirl the bearded. Why didn't you tell me he was such a sourpuss? Celestia gave a small chuckle. She remembered that old bat Starswirl, especially how much he complained about every little detail.

Well, now I guess I have to say what I have to, after all this is my very last letter to you. I'll start with Cadence and Shining Armor I guess. If he's still alive I mean (while you're reading this, I'm probably talking to him and catching up with how things at Canterlot were). I want you to give Cadence a small necalace that she gave to me when I was still a filly. Although, I really hope it doesn't make her cry once she gets it. Celestia frowned and thought hard. 'Who did Cadence know as a filly?' She thought before her eyes widened in a late realization. 'No . . .'

I hope you can remember Spike, my faithful assistant and little brother figure.Well, since Spike will live much much longer than me, I probably won't see him for a couple thousand years. I hope you can find him and give him eight gems that I've carved and aged for years. I hope he enjoys them, since they're supposed to be really tasty. The Princess felt one tear roll down her face. 'Tw -Twilight? Twilight Sparkle?!' Another tear rolled down her face and onto the carpet covered floor.

And, my dearest teacher, I have two things for you, although you may not like one. More tears fell from Celestia's eyes as she continued reading the letter. The first one is my prized possession, a pure white wingstone framed by opal, diamond, emeralds. Since I'm dead, I don't really have a use for it so I hope you love it like I loved it.

"Oh Twilight!" Celestia sobbed, not noticing the carpet around her get extremely damp as she sat on the ground and cried, her normally white, spotless fur becoming a damp white mess.

My second gift to you is the truth. Celestia wiped her eyes with a shaky hoof and read more of the letter. I know you must have blamed it on yourself for my death, but it wasn't your fault at all. It was mine.

Flashback

Celestia walked inside a small, treehouse - like home and sat down on a nearby couch, quietly waiting for her favorite student. She didn't have to wait more than one minute before a small purple unicorn with a star cutie mark and a purple-and-green dragon came in arguing with each other.

"Aw come on Twilight! I really want to go!" The dragon groaned. Twilight shook her head.

"Spike you're too sick to go see the dragon migration! End of discussion!"

"But Twilight . . .!"

"No Spike! You're too sick to go! Don't you agree with me Princess Celestia?" There was an awkward pause, followed by the sound of muffled snickering and a sudden scuffling noise. "P-Princess Celestia!" Twilight said while sinking into a deep bow. "When did you get here?" The Princess snickered again.

"Long enough to hear you two arguing." She responded, trying desperately not to laugh as the dragon and unicorn turned a deep shade of red. "Now I came here to ask Twilight something, um would you mind Spike?" Celestia asked, making the dragon snap out of his daze.

"Oh Okay. I'll be in the kitchen." He quickly left the room, leaving Twilight nervously standing in front of her mentor.

"What did you need to talk to me about?" Twilight asked. Celestia sighed.

"Twilight I am about to give you a spell that only the princesses know about when they become a princess, but if you mess up one small detail you will," she faltered. "perish. Do you want to do the spell?" Twilight gulped but smiled up toward her mentor.

"Yes I do! I'll admit I'm a little scared, but I'll be fine afterwards. Besides what's the w-" All of a sudden, Pinkie Pie jumped out of a bookshelf and shoved a hoof in Twilight's mouth.

"Twilight! Don't jinx it!" She said before jumping back into the bookshelf. Princess Celestia inspected every inch of the bookshelf but didn't find anything.

"How in Equestria did she do that?!" She asked in wonder. Twilight shrugged.

"That's Pinkie Pie. Okay I accept the spell you told me about." Celestia nodded before pulling out a large scroll and handing it to Twilight, who quickly looked over it before snapping it shut and smiling. "Okay I know exactly what to do." She glanced at the Princess. "You may want to stand back." Celestia took a step back before Twilight took a deep breath and closed her eyes, her horn glowing with magical power.

Suddenly, there was a loud Crack! and Twilight's body fell to the floor, lifeless and smoking slightly. Celestia let out a loud scream.

Flashback End . . . . .

The truth is Princess Celestia, I mispronounced several lines and had the footing wrong, so it was MY fault I died, not yours. I hope you can forgive me for probably causing you so much pain and suffering, I could never imagine hurting you on purpose!

Well, this is the end of my letter. My very last letter. Do I have a friend ship report? Yes. I learned that friends must always be there for one another, always comforting each other, and helping each other out like family.

Well, there's my final friendship report.

Goodbye Princess Celestia.

Sincerely:

Twilight Sparkle

P.S. The box I sent with this letter has everything I'm giving in it. Your necalace, Cadence's necalace, and Spike's gems.

Celestia dropped the scroll, grabbed the box, and grabbed the thing Twilight had given her. The white wingstone gleamed in the afternoon sun, shining even more brightly as tear drops fell onto it's surface.

Author's Note

Did anyone see what I did there? Jay Feather? Kind of like Jayfeather from Warriors?

Oh never mind.
