//-------------------------------------------------------// Breakdown -by Vinyl Elusive- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Departure //-------------------------------------------------------// The Departure It was a nice day in all of Equestria. The sun was rising over the horizon at a slow rate. The birds were chirping. Small droplets of rain had fallen over Canterlot. Some mares and colts had already gone to go open their shops. It was a perfect day especially for one specific pony. Well supposed to be perfect... The sun was shining through Octavia's curtains just enough to burn her eyelids. This was usually Octavia's wake up call. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at her clock on her coffee table next to her bed. It read 6:30 A.M. To most ponies this was early and they'd probably go back to sleep. But to Octavia, she had overslept. "Damn!" she cursed under her tired breath followed by a loud seemingly endless yawn. "How could I have overslept!? Especially on a day like this?" she said still yawning. She wondered why she was so tired. She was hardly ever that tired. She saw her mother and father standing at a small circular table with a cake in the middle. It had a variety of different colored candles on the rim of the cake and read "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" written in frosting in the middle. "What is this?!" asked Octavia in a surprised voice. "Its a birthday cake" answered Mother "It is your birthday after all isn't it?" asked Father "Yes it is" answered Octavia still shocked, "But normally you both are too busy with work to even say Happy Birthday" "Yes we know and we're sorry." said Mother, "But you didn't think we'd forget you're 18th, did you?" "Well..." "Plus you keep saying your excited for adulthood, especially moving out" said Father. She couldn't disagree with that. She had been excited about moving out for a while now considering Octavia liked being alone. "Well yes I have, but it'll take some time for me to get a job and make enough bits to buy a house" said Octavia "No need Octavia!" Father interrupted, "Ever since you were a filly we've been saving bit by bit for this day" "We've even found a house in a small town just outside the Everfree" said Mother "Oh, well you didn't
