Octavia's Not So Simple Problem
Everything in Octavia’s life was simple. She played the piano, she hit a certain key and it plays a note. She also played the cello, drive a bow across the strings and depending where her hoof was it plays a different note.
Easy right? Her cutie mark is a treble clef; therefore she loved most classical music. She didn’t want to fall into her mothers plan to live in a cultivated blue-blooded society that she would never fit into, so she moved to Ponyville; a simple social relocation.
So why? Why? She asked herself. Why was every major decision in her life a simple and easy choice, but why, did such a minute thing consume her thoughts almost twenty-four seven now. That thing; was her roommate, Vinyl Scratch also known as DJ PON3.
Now Vinyl has been Octavia’s closet friend ever since they were little fillies. Octavia managed to live just close enough to the “royal” lot in Equestria to be considered high class, but she was also a stones throw away from the standard class in her town.
Thanks to this, she attended the standard school while still being able to wear the “rich” and “classy” label. Her family was anything but rich, to this day she still wonders how her mother did it. She met Vinyl in the first grade at her standard school.
Octavia would say that at first they never really got along, and it took months for them to warm up to each other. However in reality they had an immediate connection for some reason. Let it be known that Octavia and Vinyl have only one thing in common; Octavia liked music, and Vinyl…likes rhythmic noise that she calls music.
That’s all really, I mean Octavia could never abandon her classy personality, and Vinyl could never really discover some decency. If you were talking to one then left the room and the other came back, you would have sworn that they must have been Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hide.
Yet somehow with all their differences they managed to get along perfectly well, and even managed to find a house in Ponyville and move in together for what is about two years now.
Yet it wasn’t until recently that Octavia realized she had an issue with Vinyl, but it wasn’t a typical roommate problem.
Octavia sat in the SugarCube Bakery and constantly checked the clock for about thirty minutes now. The clock read 11 o’clock and she was beginning to become impatient.
Okay sure, it was Octavia’s idea to arrive thirty minutes early in the first place, but that’s because her anxiety forced her out the door to try and get her thoughts off her chest as soon as possible.
Finally after what seemed like forever Bon Bon and Lyra walked into the store and spotted Octavia. “Hi Octavia!” said Bon Bon. “How are you?” Lyra followed up. Formalities Octavia thought.
“Oh, you know how it is, I’ve been just fine, and yourselves?”
“Good”
“Just fine,” they both said.
Just before Octavia could start her conversation and finally let her mind to rest, Pinkie Pie came bouncing around as usual to their table. “Hi guys, can I get you anything?” Bon Bon and Lyra glanced at the menu for a second then look back at Pinkie Pie.
“I’ll go ahead and take a sundae,” said Bon Bon.
“No thanks,” Lyra replied. “I’m trying to cut down on some of the sugary sweets, because someone wont stop making me her taste tester!” She gave a playful glare at Bon Bon.
“Hey I can never trust my tongue anymore, after awhile everything starts tasting the same!” Bon Bon exclaimed.
“Oh, but Lyra you’re sooooooo lucky! I’d love to be a candy taste tester! I mean, I’m already the Cake’s sweets tester, but candy is just as yummy because it comes in all sorts of shapes and-“
“Pinkie can you go place their order please?” Octavia cut in.
“Oh right, sorry about that! I get a little carried away when I get thinking about sugar. How about you Octavia, another milkshake?”
“No I’m fine thanks.” She had already had one while waiting, and she was doing so well on her diet she thought. Pinkie bounced out of their booth area and Octavia was finally able to start the conversation.
“Okay so there was a reason why I called you two in particular. I need to talk to you.”
“What is it?” Bon Bon asked.
“Okay, well…I’ve been having these certain…feelings for a particular pony.” Octavia hesitated; this was actually harder than she thought.
“Okay, and?” Lyra questioned.
“I’m not too sure on what I should do with these feelings, that I have.” Dang! Octavia thought, trying to get these troubles off her chest was like bench-pressing a dragon.
“I don’t understand what you mean. Who is it?”
“Well it’s because this certain pony, is not exactly- somepony I’d imagine myself…having romantic feelings for.” Octavia again cursed herself. Why did she have to be so vague!
“I’m still not getting it” Bon Bon replied. Lyra gave her a quizzical stare, and for a long time none of them said a word.
Octavia just wanted to go home now and curl up in a little ball. She was sorry she even brought it up.
Finally after trying to read her facial expressions Lyra’s eyes widen and she let out an “OOOOOHHH!” like she had just found Waldo in a picture.
“What?” Bon Bon asked.
“She’s too afraid to say who it is, because it’s mare, right?” Bon Bon’s face lit up as well and turned towards Octavia. Thank you Lyra you’re my hero right now Octavia thought.
She only nodded her head slightly in confirmation. “Oh is that all? Octavia that’s nothing to be embarrassed about!” Bon Bon told her.
“Yeah really, but now I see why you wanted to talk to us.” Octavia only nodded her head again in agreement. Now Octavia couldn’t think of what to say next. She wasn’t going to tell them straight out who the mare was.
“What do you want to know?”
“Um…well I’m not too sure. Uh how did either of you know when you had feelings for other mares?” Octavia said under her breath.
“Well lets see,” Bon Bon started. “I’m pretty sure I just always liked mare’s. Ever since I was a little filly, colts never interest me the way girls did. Then it wasn’t until much later that I found them physically attractive.”
Octavia let out a little sigh, as she was loosing hope into talking to these two. “I’m sorry I don’t suppose that really helps you. How about you Lyra? You might have a little more in common.”
“Well actually, I didn’t realize I liked mares until right around the time I met Bon Bon.”
“Really?” This made Octavia perk up.
“Yeah, I mean. I had dated a few colts before her, but I never really had chemistry with any of them. So then after a few months of hanging out with Bon Bon I realized I might actually like girls and really knew it when I started to date her.”
“Well I guess what I wanted to know was Bon Bon the only girl you found attractive, or were there others that you also felt a strong attraction for?”
“Uh, there weren’t many others that I felt a strong attraction for, however I could definitely tell that I was starting too look at mares the way I had looked at colts before. I’d see what we have in common, if I enjoyed being with them and if they were attractive or not, you know the usual tests.”
Pinkie Pie strolled over with a sundae in hoof and set it in front of Bon Bon. “Thanks Pinkie.”
“No problem”
“Hey maybe we should ask Pinkie?” Bon Bon told Octavia.
“Uh no that’s okay I don’t-!” yet before she could stop her Bon Bon asked.
“Hey Pinkie do you remember when you thought you might like mares?” Octavia shielded her face not wanting to face Pinkie when she answered.
“Of course I do, that was my awkward puberty phase!” Pinkie said smiling as if it were nothing.
“Do you remember why grew out of it-I mean, why you didn’t end up continuing liking mares?” Octavia was now completely embarrassed. It already took a lot for her to talk to Lyra and Bon Bon, but she really did not need loud mouth Pinkie in on this conversation.
“Let’s see,” Pinkie scratched her chin and furrowed her brow. “I dated a few girls before, however I never really had a special connection with them, and then after awhile I realized that it wasn’t the girls that were the problem.”
“What was it?” Lyra asked.
“It was just the ponies in general. They weren’t the right types. Why do you guys ask?”
“Oh no reason really” Octavia started but was interrupted again.
“Octavia has a crush on another mare,” Bon Bon said.
“Bon Bon, Lyra please!” Octavia said sternly giving them a disapproving look.
“Oh- right sorry about that” Bon Bon said embarrassed.
“Really? Oh my gosh this is so exciting! Octavia has never like somepony before! Who is it? You can tell me, I promise. Pinkie promise!”
“Yeah, actually you never told us who the mare was,” Lyra asked. Octavia threw her head down and covered it with her hooves. This was too much for her.
She didn’t want this much attention drawn toward her problems, but now they were center stage. She couldn’t handle this.
She could have just sat in her room and deal with her issues, but no; she had to ask some ponies that might understand. Great now there was no way out, she’d have to come clean. “It’s-“
“Yes?” All three ponies said in unison.
“It’s uh, Vinable.” Octavia mumbled.
“It’s who sorry?” said Bon Bon.
“It’s Vysdf.” Octavia mumbled again to the table.
“We can’t hear you.” Pinkie said.
“IT’S…Vinyl!” Octavia finally spat out.
“WHAT!” All three ponies around her yelled out. Octavia still wasn’t looking up but she could have sworn that the whole shop went quite for a few seconds. When the shop noise came back Octavia finally put her head up and saw the three ponies, mouths agape staring at her.
“You have the hots for Vinyl?” Bon Bon asked still surprised.
“Is that even possible, oh my gosh! You guys are totally opposites not to mention fillyhood friends!”
“Pinkie stop!” Lyra said. “Okay now, when did you start noticing these feelings for Vinyl?”
“It started a few weeks ago. I had just come home from an orchestra practice, and when I didn’t see Vinyl downstairs or hear music blaring from her room as usual I thought something might be wrong."
"So quietly I walked up the stairs and I saw that my room was open. I never leave my door open you know how Vinyl can be sometimes. From the stairs I could see into my room just enough to get a peak of my bed. In my bed I saw Vinyl, she had gone through my stuff."
"She was wearing a pair of my socks and one of my spare bowties, and she was listening to her mp3 while looking at old photographs I keep on my nightstand. Normally I would be furious yelling at her for taking my stuff and then later giving her a lecture about the importance of privacy and what have you. However, something in my head just: clicked."
"I stared at Vinyl for longer, and I had this uncontrollable urge to have her.” Octavia looked at the ponies for a second, all three of them leaning in to hear the rest.
“What I mean to have her is…well I mean I just wanted to hug and kiss her all over. I wanted to feel her body against mine, I wanted her to tell me I was special and that there was no other pony like me. I suppose that doesn’t make sense does it?”
“No no it totally does, go on!” Pinkie said.
“Well I don’t know how long I was starring at her, but I it must have been nearly five minutes, if anyone had seen me they would have thought I was mad or something."
"Finally Vinyl had turned over and saw me at the staircase looking at her. Naturally she had a fit, falling off my bed and trying her best to get my socks off her and undo my bowtie, but for some reason, I just couldn’t be mad at her anymore"
"She looked so funny struggling with the collar and bowtie.” Octavia paused and dreamed off for a second, thinking back to Vinyl’s guilty expression, but how adorable she was. “And?” said Bon Bon, snapping Octavia out of her daydream.
“Oh right, uh…after she fell on the floor I helped her out of my stuff and told her not to go into my room without asking. Then that was it.”
“That was it!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed on the edge of her seat.
“Well I can't look at Vinyl the same way since then, but yes that’s it.” Octavia said looking at all three of the ponies that now sat back in their seats.
“Oh come on girl! We were expecting you fall on top of her and give her a kiss, or you both reach for your socks, hands landing on each other sharing an awkward romantic moment!”
Octavia was a bit confused thinking: these ponies and their romantic movie obsession. “No sorry to disappoint you all, but that’s all that happened.”
“You girls are the worst I swear!” said Lyra. “That’s quite alright Octavia, not all moments of love happen quite as cinematically.”
“Thank you Lyra-I’m sorry?” Octavia sat very still, not sure if she had heard Lyra correctly.
“Love darling, you fell in love with Vinyl.”
“Wha- gaf…” Words would not form inside Octavia’s head. At the moment nothing would make sense, she had never even thought about love.
Lyra completely changed the equation; no in fact she wasn’t even using an equation anymore. “What do you mean love?” Octavia finally managed to say.
“Love, Octavia what you described was you falling in love.” Lyra replied.
“Yeah an instantaneous moment of excitement and romance! It’s like lighting, striking right in your heart!” Pinkie said jumping all around the booth, being as loud as possible.
“No, there’s no way. I mean sure I love Vinyl, but I’m not in love with her.” All three ponies looked at one another and chuckled.
“You said yourself you can’t look at her the same way anymore. That’s your heart saying you’re in love.” Bon Bon told Octavia.
It was official; there were more questions than answers now. Octavia came to get her problems off her chest but now it seemed like there were just more things on top of her, squeezing the life out of her.
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing to be afraid of. Most mares and colts fall in love at one point or another, I mean that’s how it was for me when I Bon Bon.” Lyra said, trying to say something to calm Octavia.
She looked at all three ponies that were starring at her and put her head down on the table again. Octavia was definitely more confused than before. Sure she thought these feelings for Vinyl were strange, but she thought if she figured them out, that they’d be no big deal and they would disappear, but love?
Octavia had always dreamed, or rather; her mother always dreamed that she would marry a rich stallion that was handsome and just right for her.
Eventually Octavia rejected everything her mother had set in motion for her, but that little fantasy was something she had always hung onto; for herself at least. Then again, Octavia had actually been on a few dates with possible candidates that would make long-term boyfriend material at least, but none of them had the certain spark Octavia was looking for.
They didn’t have it like Vinyl had it. That girl was rude, she was reckless and she hardly respected anything like privacy or space. Maybe that was what Octavia loved about her. She was kind of like that bad colt her mother had always warned her about.
However she wasn’t bad in that sort of way. In the back of her mind, Octavia liked the way she invaded her room sometimes, looked through her things and wore her clothes.
She liked the way Vinyl would annoy her just to get her attention, or how she would try to do something like play her cello and fail at it.
Yet most of all she loved how no matter what she was always there for her. For every scrape or cut or failure, Vinyl was always there. When she was sad Vinyl would hunt down every pillow in her house to make a fort, and tell her that the fort would protect her from her sadness.
Oh Celestia, Octavia realized that she just thought of what she “loved” about Vinyl.
“Oh my Celestia, I’m in love with Vinyl.” Octavia finally said after a long moment of thinking to herself.
“Don’t feel bad honey, that’s nothing to be sad about.” Lyra tried to reassure her.
“I dunno I’m just glad it’s not me.” Pinkie muttered, but swiftly got a hoof jab from Lyra.
“What do I do?” Octavia said finally pulling her head up from the table.
“Well there is only one thing too do; tell her how you feel.” Bon Bon said.
“What? Just like that? Tell her ‘I love you’?” Octavia said, a little awestruck.
“Yeah pretty much, I mean the worst she can say is, sorry I don’t have the same feelings.” Lyra said.
“Or she’ll say no and your things might be awkward forever!” said Pinkie, receiving a full push by Lyra.
“I think you have customers PINKIE!”
“Seriously though Octavia, don’t be afraid. Make a little list on why you love her, then say, I love you because of this, this and this.” Bon Bon told her.
Octavia let out a little groan. “No one said you had to do it now.” This reassured Octavia a little bit, but it still felt like she had a giant weight on top of her.
“What if I can’t?” she asked.
“Well no one will make you, but remember the longer you wait; the more it might hurt not telling her” Lyra told her. Octavia let out another groan.
“We should go and let you get your thoughts together,” Bon Bon told Lyra.
“Yeah, just call us if you need anything else okay?”
“Thank you.” Octavia mumbled.
Octavia slowly strolled back to her house letting her thoughts consume her. At some point, some point soon she had to confess her feelings for Vinyl, because if she didn’t relatively quickly she might never confess her feelings.
Octavia then began playing scenarios in her head. What if Vinyl said yes, what would that be like? I mean they already lived together so it’s not like they would have too much to work at.
I mean for most couples living together is the last step before marriage, and even then there was a long process of learning to trust each other and learn what’s it’s like to be with each other nearly twenty-four seven. Octavia and Vinyl were already roommates however.
Yet what if she rejected Octavia, then their friendship might not ever be the same again. Pinkie’s words rang through her ears, “Or she’ll say no and things will be awkward forever.”
It would definitely make things awkward living together. It might mean no more tickle fights, or surprised breakfast in beds or sleeping together if they’d watched a scary movie, or-
“AHHHH!” Octavia yelled.
Her thoughts were going a mile a minute and they were only upsetting her more. “Whatcha yellin at, birds?” said a familiar voice behind Octavia. She turned around to see Vinyl standing behind her, starring with a smirk on her face.
“What? Oh um, no actually. I was yelling at…the fact that my orchestra canceled practice on me tonight.”
“Isn’t today Wednesday? I thought you only had night practice on Thursdays?” Vinyl asked raising her eyebrows.
“Oh, well we had to reschedule last week and now their going to have to reschedule again.” Octavia gave a little fake smile hoping Vinyl would just accept it.
“Oh, okay cool well that means we can still watch our movie tonight.” Phew, Octavia thought.
“Movie?”
“Yeah, did you forget fancy pants tonight’s our B-movie night?”
“Oh right, I had almost forgotten.”
“Tonight we are watching Enter the Pony Fist! Whatever that means.” Vinyl held up the DVD cover to show Octavia.
“Sounds delightful.”
Octavia walked in with the bowl full of popcorn, and noticed Vinyl was already sitting on the couch watching the DVD previews.
She had her foreleg resting on the back of the couch leaving her body open, and Octavia couldn’t help but fantasize about curling up next to her, wrapping her hooves around Vinyl and watching the movie with no personal space necessary.
She shook off her fantasy and came back to reality, walked over to the couch and sat across from Vinyl leaving the popcorn in between them.
“Yeah Popcorn!” Vinyl cried and grabbed a hoof full throwing it into her mouth. Octavia chuckled a little bit as she watched Vinyl stuff her face.
While Octavia would say she had watched the movie with Vinyl, in reality she didn’t really care about the movie.
Sure Vinyl talked through the whole thing and constantly cracked jokes, but that was normal. No Octavia was too busy stealing glances at her roommate in the corner of her eyes and playing out different romantic fantasies in her head.
Finally the movie ended and Vinyl got up stretching her hooves and walked over to take the DVD out of the player. “We’ll that wasn’t too bad, I’d like a little more mouth to voice synchronization, but all in all good movie.”
“Yeah the romance scenes could have used a little work.” Octavia responded.
“What movie were you watching, there wasn’t one romance scene in the whole film.”
STUPID! Octavia thought to herself.
“I uh- well I was just thinking of another movie sorry.”
“Oh, well whatever weirdo I’m gonna hit the hay, night Octy sleep tight!”
“Yeah night Vinyl,” Octavia called after he as she went up to bed.
As soon as Vinyl was gone from sight the heaviness returned on Octavia’s shoulders. She thought about how if Vinyl didn’t feel the same way about her, then they may never be able to have nights like this again.
She walked up to her room as she was enveloped in her thoughts again. What if Vinyl wanted to move out if Octavia came clean? Then not only would she lose her best friend, but she was also lose her roommate and she might not be able to find another one and she’ll have to move out.
Octavia threw herself on her bed and buried her face in a pillow. She didn’t want to think about it anymore, but unfortunately it’s all she could think about. She flung off her collar and bowtie onto the floor and rubbed her temples.
Just then, like somepony had put a cigarette against her chest she shot up and her eyes opened wide. Octavia realized that Vinyl would never like her the way she did because she liked colts, she always had! Why was this an after thought?
She should have known this from the beginning, but the way the girls were talking about love earlier; Octavia was convinced that anypony could fall in love with one another regardless of gender. However Octavia knew that this was not the case for Vinyl.
Vinyl had several boyfriends before and she even had some long term ones like Neon Lights. The weight on top of Octavia had now increased a thousand fold. She felt like she couldn’t move at all, and if she tried; she’d fall down and collapse on the floor.
She could never tell Vinyl now, because she would never have the same feelings and she’d definitely lose her as a friend. Tears began to form as she thought about having the pain in her heart forever. That’s it; the first pony she ever loved and shed let her get away.
The door to Vinyl’s room opened and Vinyl covered her eyes as the hall light shined brightly into eyes that were adjusted to the dark. “Octy?” Vinyl mumbled slightly turning over. The weight on the bed shifted as Octavia climbed into bed with Vinyl.
“Octavia is something wro-“
“I just got scared Vinyl, I want to sleep in your bed if it’s okay,” Octavia cut in.
“Oh, alright no problem then.” Vinyl turned over facing away from the door, and Octavia wrapped her hooves around Vinyl’s torso and buried her head in her back.
“Octy? What’s the-”?
Again Octavia cut her off “Please just go to sleep.” Vinyl mumbled something else, but she was tired and didn’t mind. Octavia lay there feeling weightless, listening to Vinyl breathe. Her stomach moved in and out, wrapped by Octavia’s hooves.
Vinyl’s fur was soft against her nose and she smelled like a newly open CD. The thoughts of loosing Vinyl again creped into her mind and only made her tighten her grip on the mare’s stomach. Octavia tried to hold back the tears, but it was no good. She began to sob into Vinyl’s back, and she desperately wished it wouldn’t wake her.
“Octavia?”
“Please- go to sleep!” Octavia cried.
“Okay Octy what’s the matter!” Vinyl said as she shook Octavia’s grasp and turned on her lamp. Octavia sat up trying to wipe away the tears that wouldn’t stop coming.
“Oh Vinyl, I just don’t know what to do with myself anymore.” Octavia mumbled through the tears. Vinyl grabbed Octavia and held her head close to her chest, but this only caused her to sob even harder.
This was another thing Octavia loved about Vinyl, whenever she was upset she simply held onto her and let her cry not saying anything. It was usually all she needed and some how Vinyl knew it. Octavia began to calm down and Vinyl simply stroked her hair and finally let go of her wiping away her tears.
“Alright Octy what’s buggin you?” It took another moment for Octavia to finally gain control of her speech again, but she managed to say,
“It’s just…I have these irresistibly strong feelings for a pony, but I know they will never have the same feelings towards me.”
“Wha? Wait hold on how do you know they won’t have the same feelings for you?”
Octavia signed and said, “because it’s a mare and she only likes colts.”
“Well hold on there Octy there’s no reason to jump to conclusions. I Okay have you talked to her, do you guys hang out?”
Octavia nodded her head slightly, but now the pressure had been replaced with a choking sensation that almost caused her to cry if she tried to speak.
“Well it would be easier to help you if you told me who this girl was.” Octavia felt the choking sensation even more now, and tears were forming in her eyes. Vinyl was starring hard at Octavia looking for any hints that might tell her who Octavia’s crush might be.
Finally Octavia threw a hard glance at Vinyl and then looked back down. It took a second for Vinyl to realize what she was signaling, but then it finally hit her like a ton of bricks.
“Is…is it me?” Vinyl finally asked. It was too much for Octavia, she wanted to just run out of Vinyl’s room and lock herself the bathroom.
It was over, Vinyl finally knew and now and she’d reject Octavia’s feelings and things were forever ruined between her and her best friend. Octavia began to weep again and she faced away from Vinyl. She felt like the life was being choked out her.
“Whoa whoa whoa, hold on it’s okay Octy it’s okay it’s okay!” Vinyl muttered while grabbing Octavia and embracing her again. “Octy listen-“ It was either now or never Octavia thought. She could at least tell Vinyl her reason for being in love with her and maybe she wouldn’t hate her in the end, and abandon her.
“Wait let me say something!” Octavia interrupted Vinyl. She was still crying, but she managed to get out her choked words. “I love you Vinyl Scratch, I truly truly do. I love the way that you always try to make me laugh no matter what situation. I love the fact that you have your own way of doing things even when people try to tell you differently. "
"I love how you’re always there for me whenever I need you, and you make me feel special by setting aside time in your schedule no matter what to be with me. You’re also so incredibly beautiful. I have never seen a pony that has had the power to stop me dead in my tracks by giving me a simple smile."
" You’re my best friend Vinyl and I’m sorry if it makes you feel strange or awkward but I’ve fallen in love with you, and I’ve fallen incredibly hard. I understand if you don’t have the same feelings for me, I don’t expect you to since I’m a girl, but it hurt so much not being able to tell you and the thought of loosing you as my friend drove me crazy."
"So even if it makes things awkward please don’t leave me Vinyl, I don’t know what Id do without you!” Octavia began to breakdown on the last sentence and couldn’t speak anymore.
Vinyl only embraced her again and stroked her mane, while Octavia hoped she had said everything she needed to say. It definitely felt like she did, because the huge weight and choking sensation was now gone, and she finally felt no matter what, things would be okay.
Octavia calmed down and Vinyl pushed her away keeping her at hooves lengths too look at her and, wip the tears from her eyes. “Are you okay now?” Vinyl asked.
Octavia simply nodded her head. “Good. Oh fancy pants you really know how to scare me sometimes you know that? Octavia gave a faint smile.
“Octy you know that no matter what I will always be around to give you a hoof, or shoulder to cry on, and I love hanging out with you too."
"While you may have set rules and can be lame sometimes; you only make it that much more fun. I can really be myself around you, and I know you won’t judge me."
"So that’s why I can say without a doubt that I love you too, and no not just as my friend.”
Octavia stood still for a long time, even as Vinyl talked she didn’t even blink, as she was afraid that she’d might miss something, Did Vinyl really say that she loved her back? Not just as a friend? “Wait…you do? Though you don’t like mares!” Vinyl smiled,
“No I don’t play for the other team, but it doesn’t really matter, because you’re not just some pony that I can eyeball as candy and try to guess if we might have a connection."
"You’re my Octy who’s been through everything with me, and who I love for being her. Not for being a girl or a guy.” Octavia held still for a moment, and finally she let out a soft chuckle, that grew into a loud laugh.
Octavia jumped onto Vinyl holding down her arms and smiled at her. “You have no idea how exciting it is that you said that.” Vinyl smiled back and said,
“I think I have a pretty good idea, but I might need a demonstration.” Octavia couldn’t help but smile and blush at the same time. Finally, Octavia was able to let her fierce desires let loose a little. She leaned in and kissed Vinyl on the lips.
Octavia’s tongue snaked into Vinyl’s and she responded by letting hers enter Octavia’s. Their tongues rolled around each other, passionately and Octavia slowly massaged Vinyl’s hooves with her own.
Octavia was thrown into a flurry of ecstasy, and only kissed Vinyl harder and harder. After what seemed like the whole night, they separated and stared longingly into each other’s eyes.
Octavia rolled off of the pony and curled up in the covers. Vinyl this time let her hooves wrap themselves around Octavia and she nuzzled her snout into the mare’s hair.
Octavia had never felt so happy, but at the same time all the crying had made her extremely tired. Yet before she fell into a slumber she asked Vinyl, “Could you say it one more time? Just so I know I’m not in a crazy dream.”
Vinyl smiled and whispered the words, “I love you Octy” into her ear. Octavia smiled and shivered as Vinyl’s warm breath hit against her ear. Octavia closed her eyes and didn’t have a single dream the rest of the night.
Octavia walked to the sugar corner bakery, this time wary not to be thirty minutes early like last time, and instead she would only be five minutes early.
As she opened the door and walked in, she noticed Bon Bon, Lyra and Pinkie Pie already sitting in a booth waiting for her. “There she is!” Bon Bon exclaimed.
“FINALLY we’ve been waiting for like half an hour girl, hurry up!” Pinkie Pie called. Octavia only smiled and strolled over to their booth.
