Prologue

Once, long ago, there was a great war spanning myriad worlds. Magi came together to end the corruption that was the psions, just as the psions gathered to eliminate the destructive forces of the magi. The war raged for many years. It was purely by luck that the psions found a weapon that could not only bring the odds into their favor, but potentially win the war. This weapon was a warrior, one who was capable of both magic and psi. With this warrior, the psi armies marched to the stronghold of the magi leader in an all-or-nothing attempt to end the war. When it came time to show the magi their new weapon, the unthinkable happened. The psionic mage turned on the psion leader and killed him in one fell strike. With their leader dead and their strongest warrior against them, the psion quickly lost the battle that would decide the war. Only a hoof-full of them were able to escape; and thus began the Great Hunt: an attempt by the magi to eliminate the last remnants of their enemy. For as long as one psion exists, the war is not over.
