I tried to laugh with my friends, but I just couldn't. The whole "Nightmare Rarity" thing was still on my mind. While I did take comfort in the fact that my friends would never abandon me for anypony else, I still couldn't help be feel guilty for allowing the nightmare forces to make me another Nightmare Moon. "Something wrong Rarity?" a voice asked. "Huh?" I asked, and realized that I had zoned out, as it were. I turned to the source, who happen to be Spike. "Oh, Spike. Nothing's wrong Daring, just a lot on my mind." I replied. "Like what?" Spike asked. I'm sorry to say I broken down then and there. I know it's not very lady-like to cry like a foal, but I did anyway. "Oh Spike!" I whaled and wrapped my hooves around him, "I can't believe I let those guys think my friends would leave me for some other pony who couldn't spell for pony manure." By now the others had heard me crying and came around us. I could feel Spike return the hug and pat me on my neck in a comforting way. "Rarity, it's okay, everything is back to normal now." Twilight comforted. "I know, " I sobbed, "it's just that I came so close to hurting everypony I care about." "Now that's crazy talk, it wasn't you Sugarcube, Nightmare Rarity said that she and you were two separate ponies, though, how that works is beyond me." Applejack said. "I can tell you." I replied. "Rarity you don't have to if you don't want to." Fluttershy stated. "No, I insist." I declared. Everypony else grew silent. "In my mind, I was in a dark empty place, nothing surrounding me but the color black, very much like a void. Then, SHE came to join me. She introduced herself as "the new and improved Rarity". I demanded to know what she was talking about. She only laughed and mocked and tormented me with her words. She was the more powerful of us two, so she had control of my body, and it took her form." Pinkie shuttered. "That sounds really scary." "It was. She was almost defeated when all of you fired at her, but the fact that I was the element of generosity allowed her to survive the blasts. Thing was, I had the element, not her. I gained strength from the memories you feed me and took her on myself, defeating her with one magical friendship filled blast from my horn." I said , just now realizing how loudly I was speaking, almost shouting. The others stared at me in shock. "I don't know if I got rid of her perminately, but judging that the moon animals went back to normal, I don't think we'll have to worry about the Nightmare forces anytime soon." Twilight put in. Good to know, I guess. "I...I...I want to go to sleep now." I said. "Well, it is pretty late, Ah reckon we should hit the hay." Applejack yawned. The other agreed and got into their sleeping bags. That was then I noticed I was still hugging the little dragon, and Spike hadn't let go the whole time either. "Spike, you can let go now." I told him. He back off and blushed. It was so adorable I could help but give him a kiss on the cheek. "Good night Spike." I giggled. "Y-y-yeah, goodnight Rarity." Spike stammered and went off to his sleeping bag. I chuckled and watched him go to sleep, then rested my head on my pillow. *** I opened my eyes, darkness surrounded me. The place felt familiar, and I didn't like it one bit. Just as I got on my hooves, blue starry smoke surrounded me. It went around me a few times before it stopped in front me and formed a tall black unicorn. "Nightmare Rarity I cried. "Please, that's so over, my name is Queen Nightmare." That didn't make any sense. She looked exactly like Nightmare Rarity, cutie mark and all. "But if you are here, then..." "That's right Rarity, did you really think you were rid of me?" she asked menacingly. "Do you really think you can take my body again?" I growled. "I have no need of yours or anypony else's body anymore. I absorbed enough magic from you, your friends and Princess Luna to make a body of my own. I'm only here to remind you of your guilt. "My guilt?" "It was YOU who allowed my minions to "corrupt" you. It was YOUR choice to allow your body to be my vessel. And now, it's YOU who'll have to deal with the consequences." "ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES!" a new voice shouted. We turned to see Princess Luna had joined us. "You know just as well as I do it was all your and your forces doing." Luna said firmly. "Oh, is it? Tell me, Luna, was it my fault to you wanted to overthrow Celestia and you made a deal with me to gain the power to do so?" Queen Nightmare asked. "That was different. I chose to out of jealousy. Your nightmare forces tricked Rarity with those nightmares and lies." "Say what you like, Shadowfright made sure it was her choice in the end." "A choice I made under the influence of your minions!; and while we're at it, if you really were as powerful as you make yourself out to be, then you have done your own dirty work!" I snapped. Nightmare glared at me. "How DARE you...well, if that's what you think, let's put YOU in a similar situation, shall we?" the queen asked menacingly as her horn lit up with a blue aura. There was blinding flash of white light... A New Problem and New Powers...and I woke with a jump. "Gah!" I cried. Looking around, I noticed that I could see better in the dark. I stood up on my hooves to find that everything was shorter than before, much to my confusion. "Huh? Rarity?" a voice asked and the lights came on, revealing Twilight at a light switch. She rubbed her eyes and looked at me. "Oh no!" she cried. The others, stirring and complaining, looked around. When they noticed me, they screamed and huddled behind the purple unicorn. That's when I noticed I towered above them. "I think I know what's going, but I'm not sure." she said after a moment. "Rarity? Is it you in there?" By now, I had pieced two and two together and realized I was Nightmare Rarity again, except my body was my own. "Yes, I'm not lost." I replied. My friends calmed down after that. Rainbow Dash approached me for a better look. "I don't get it, how can she look like this when she isn't corrupted anymore?" Dash asked. "You see Dash, Princess Luna can take the form of Nightmare Moon whenever she wants." Twilight explained, "But, I don't know how that works exactly." "I can tell you that." another voice said. We turned to face Princess Luna herself. "When the Queen of the Nightmare Forces, Nightmare, took my body over, she left some of her magic in my body after you six freed my from her influence. It mixed with my natural magic when when I got it back, allowing me to take the form at my will. They same is true for Rarity, the same thing happened to me the next day." The Princess approached me. "Of course, I didn't do it, she did, but it can easily be undone. You just have to whim your body to transform back to normal." I took a breath and composed myself. I wanted to change back to my normal self, this form held too many bad memories. I felt myself shrink down until I was at eye level with my friends. "Am I...?" "Yes, your back to normal, Rarity" Twilight answered. "Rarity, I'm afraid Nightmare will be back. I remember after I was freed, she lurked around in my mind, taunting me with vile words that, unfortunately, held truth." Princess Luna told me. "I suggest having friends and family around during this time. She may not be in your body anymore, but you and her share a mental link. Remember, she'll remind of your "guilt"; it's important you don't let her push you around. Only when you've shown her she can't under your skin will she leave you alone." the princess informed me. I nodded. "I understand." I replied. "I can do no more, the rest is up to you, good luck Rarity." Princess Luna said before she charged her horn and teleported home. We stood there quietly for five minutes contemplating the situation when we we interrupted by a yawn. "Sorry. Rarity, we all know you can do it." Spike said sleepily as he crawled into bed. "Spike's right, we're all here for you Rarity." Twilight added. "I know you will be Darling. Shall we go back to bed then?." I asked. Everypony else agreed and we went back to sleep. *** We had blueberry pancakes for breakfast the next morning, courtesy of Pinkie Pie. "These are delicious Pinkie, thanks." Spike said with a mouthful. "No problem Spike." Pinkie replied. "So Rarity, I assume you'll be heading back to your boutique?" Twilight asked me. "Yes, but only for work." I replied, "I contacted my parents via telepathy this morning and I'll be staying with them for some time." I replied. Twilight could only nod in reply. After breakfast. we left for our respective jobs. As we walked through town, I noticed that the townsponies were acting as if the traumatic events everypony had to endure didn't happen. We got a number of "Hellos" and "Good mornings". "It's nice to see so much tolerance among ponies." Twilight pointed out cheerfully. "Eeyup, good to know folks are willing to be so understandin." Applejack put in. I guess after living in this town for some time, you get use to it. I heard Ponyville is considered a death trap by the other town and cities. Well, you can't really blame them, given all the down right bizarre things that happen in this town. I mean a parasprite infestation, a visit from Cerberus, and having an Ursa Minor brought to town aren't exactly normal events in any town. Oh well, we had to go our separate ways eventually. As I walked on my own, ponies started to give me pitying looks as I went by. It was rather uncomfortable, I could feel them judging me. "Oh look, they've lost all respect for you." a familiar voice said. "Shut up!" I cried, only to attracting unwanted attention. "Sorry." I apologized as I galloped off with ponies staring at me. I arrived at my boutique and locked myself in. Taking deep breathes, i calmed myself down. "Aww. Look at you, so cute when you're helpless." Her royal pain in the plot taunted. "I wish I could say the same for you, Queen Nightmare." I remarked, "You can't make anypony's body you use look good." I sneered back. "Whatever." The queen of the nightmare forces huffed indignantly, then seemingly "cut off" the mental link we shared. I sighed with relief, peace at last. It remained so for the rest of the day, but I couldn't help but wonder just how long it would last. What Nopony SawNightmare's POV How dare she insult my sense of style! That stupid marshmallow. I trotted over to a mirror and gazed at my reflection. Having taken the form of Nightmare Moon once again, I looked upon my slender body and starry blue flowing mane. Alas, I was devoid of a cutie mark. Had I the moon cutie mark from when I took over Princess Luna, I would be calling myself Nightmare Moon. But as it stand, I don't, so I had to use my original name. One could argue that I was "the pony of shadows" from that old pony tale, but this was false, I'd have known if I was missing any of my magic. "My queen." a voice called. I sighed and turned around. Shadowfright, the leader of my nightmare forces stood at attention. "What?" I asked irritably. "I heard my troops talking, they all think it would be best to rebel against you and that we are better off without you. While I still believe in you, my queen, I do see where they were coming from. We were promised a kingdom and this is the second time you've failed us." Shadowfright said seriously. I walked over to him and got in his face. "I'm not done yet, not my a long shot! You get out and tell my subjects to settle down, OR THEY'LL HAVE ME TO ANSWER TOO!" I roared. Shadowfright flew out of my cave. Alone again, I was left to wonder how this could happen to us. How were we reduced to living in a cave system in a mountain. I thought back. *** Her friends had almost defeated me again, but I regained control at the last minute. "Seems your friends thought they could best me again, but you have the element of generosity, and I have control. They can't do anything." I laughed. This seemed to strike a cord with her. Suddenly, we where surrounded by moving pictures. Memories. The marshmallow pony got on on her hooves. "Do you still think you've won?" Rarity asked. "You think YOU can defeat me? Don't make me laugh, you so called friends couldn't, what makes you think you can?" I asked. "I have something more powerful than you'll ever be!" She declared, and started to rise into the air surrounded by a blue aura. I stepped back and charged my horn. "It FRIENDSHIP!" Rarity shouted, sending a powerful blast my way. I blocked it with a magic blast of my own. The two were evenly matched, it like I was in combat with Celestia again. Fortunately, Rarity wasn't a alicorn, so she didn't have the endurance to keep up the fight for long. She soon began to tire. "I told you I can't be defeated." I sneered as my blast was approaching her. It seemed victory would be mine when... "You mean everything to me. Please come home." it was the voice of the baby dragon, followed by some more memories. "I'M COME SPIKEY WIKEY!" Rarity shouted and her blast rushed towards me, as if those words final words and memories gave her new-found strength "NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I cried as the magic blue blast hit me with unspeakable force, just like the elements of harmony. The next thing I knew, I was in my original form, quickly disguising myself as a cloud of smoke. I could see Rarity above me, conversing with her friends. I slipped away, thankfully unnoticed and rejoined my nightmare forces. who had the scenes to flee the scene as well. They too where stripped from their hosts, but surprising kept their smokey bodies rather than going back to their shadow state. Eventually, we came to rest at a mountain range. I could tell my forces were not pleased. "What now, YOUR HIGHNESS?" one asked, sarcasm dripping from his mouth. "Now we regroup and strengthen up, we fight another day." I told him. Complaints erupted from their mouths. "SILIENCE!!" I roared. The complaints stopped in the moments notice. "Does anypony have a better idea?" I asked. It was silent for a full minute. "If there are no suggestions, take a cave in these mountains and don't bother me." I ordered. My forces grumbled as they flew up the mountains, each choosing a cave. I flew up to the highest cave in the tallest mountain and looked it. Curiously, there was a vanity mirror inside. I took a look at myself and was disgusted by what I saw. A smokey black alicorn looked back at me. "Ugh, I like my Nightmare Moon form better." I spat. At those words, I watched in the mirror as my body started to change. I could feel as bones and organs began to develop in my body. The smoke that was my body started to become skin, fur and eternal hair. When the transformation was complete, I was Nightmare Moon again. This would have pleased me to no end if I had the cutie mark, but being a Nightmare Force, I suppose I wouldn't get one anyway. After all, I took over other ponies bodies and their cutie marks change when I have control. *** Even if I had a physical body to call my own, I'm still reduced to tormenting Rarity from a distance. One would ask why would I bother, to which the answer is simple. To insure that the elements of harmony can't be used against me again. If I keep downing Rarity, she'll be too depressed to use her element against me, hopefully. I would think that I could try and take Equestria by force again, but as of now, it's too early to try to re-invade. I had to wait two years before trying again with Rarity, when I failed with Princes Luna. As I sat in my cave, I wondered my I was suppose to combat friendship, it had been the key to my downfall both times. If I could figure how to combat it, I might have a chance to deliver the kingdom I had promised my subjects. First Day BackRarity's POV With her royal dogness out of the picture for now. I started to go back to work, or least I tried. I had spent the day before the whole incident finishing up orders and shipping them out. So now I was alone trying to think of new designs, but was coming up with nothing. "Meow!" I look over at Opalescence. The Persian cat had her food bowl in front of her. "Of course mommy will feed you, Opal darling." I said, and picked up the bowl and went into the kitchen for some cat food. I watched as Opal wolf it down in a very unladylike manner. "Please Opal, with class." The cat look up at me with an unamused look on her face, as if to say "Really?". "Yes, really." Opal looked down at her food bowl, which still had some food in it, and flicked it with her paw. Cat food went on the floor. "Opalescence!" My cat jump into the food ans rolled around it. "You want to take a bath?" Opal shook some of the food off. It got on my hooves, but she only smiled at me. "Fine." I said, picking her up with my magic. I really have to wonder what's gotten into my little Opal, it's not like her to purposely get dirty or even act so foalish. I went into the bathroom and filled the tub a quarter of the way up. Then I removed Opal's collar and bow and lowered her into the tub. Usually, she'd tried to fight it, but today Opal simply let it be. I squeezed some soup on my hoof and began lathering Opal's fur, washing my hooves in the process. Once I had gotten all the cat food off, I rinsed my cat off, and that's when she splashed me. "Ugh! Opal! You almost got my mane wet." "Meow." Opal replied in a "what are you going to do about it?" tone. I considered my next move. I could either be mature and just take it or... Splash IT. WAS. ON! I splashed my feline companion, to which of course she splashed back. We went back and forth until we had gotten each other wet and spilled water everywhere, laughing the whole time. Even though it was foalish, we had fun. "Okay Opal, that's enough, let's dry you off." I said, levitating a pink towel over to me. I dried Opal off and brushed her fur. She purred at this. Then I replace her bow and collar and reapplied her purple eye shadow. Then it hit me. "You did it on purpose, didn't you?" I asked the Persian cat. Opal looked innocent at me. "It's okay, I needed it. With everything that happened, I could use some cheering up. I can't even come up with a new design." Opal looked at her towel, then pounced on it and rolled around, wrapping the towel around her body. "Opal, what are you doing?" She got up on her paws and walked around, making poses as she did. "That's cute Opal dear, but..." Then it dawned on me. "IIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I ran over to my sketch book and drew out the dress that had formed in my head. "Oh, this is perfect, all I need would be some...." "Meow." I looked over at the feline, who had gotten out of the towel and was holding her mouse toy in her mouth, then glanced down at the sketch book and tossed it aside. "Alright." I said, took the toy and dangled it in front of Opal. She playfully swiped at it as I ran around the boutique. This went on for an hour or so until we both got exhausted. "Okay Opal, mommy needs to take a break." I panted. I laid down on my couch when "Surprise!" a new voice cheered. "Gah!" I cried and leapt off the couch. Now I could see where the voice came from. "Pinkie!" Sure enough, Pinkie Pie had gotten into my house without me knowing. "Were you surprised, were you?" Pinkie asked. "Yes, what are you doing here." "I put Opal up to it because I know it must of have been really depressing to have been Nightmare Rarity, and I could never stand to see any of my friends depressed, but I had to work, so I visited Opal and got her to play along and believe me it wasn't easy, she was almost as demanding as you would be, I think she picked that up from you, anyway I got her to do some fun stuff with you to cheer you up because you really really really needed it." *insert Pinkie smile and "Squee" noise here* "Wow Pinkie, I was actually able to follow along with that." "I had to make it short, otherwise the author of this fanfic probably would have given up on it right here trying to follow along with me, and he's got something special planned for you later on." I stared. What author? What fanfiction? What does he have planned for me? "Pinkie, did you really go through all that trouble just to cheer me up?" "Yes, and to teach you something important." What, prey tell, would that be?" "You tell me." Pinkie said in a sly tone. I considered everything that had happened today. I thought about the fun I had with Opal and how I had forgotten what I had gone through. "Life goes on, despite what happened in the past. We as living things should too." "Well then, my work here is done, see ya." Pinkie replied and showed herself out. When she opened the door, I could see the sun starting to set. "Oh my, I've got to pack us Opal, mom and dad will be expecting us soon." First Night BackI trotted towards my parents house with my beloved cat walking beside me and some luggage in tow. For the most part, if one somepony where to look at it, it would look like just another house in the humble town. But to me, it was a reminder of my roots. I walked up to the door and knocked. "I got it honey." a stallion's voice called from within. The door opened to reveal my father. "Rarity!" Magnum cheered, and wrapped his hooves around me. "Nice to see you again Dad." I replied. "Prepared as always I see." Dad replied. "Yeah, I when I travel I carry alot luggage, but in my defense, I usually carry all of it myself, and I have to unpack and repack myself." "Of course, come in." I followed my father into the living room. Mom and Sweetie Belle where watching the television, a new device giving out by order of Celestia herself. Its primary purpose is to get news out nationwide, but it also has the auxiliary purpose of entertainment. The show "Dr. Whooves" was currently on. "Rarity!" Sweetie Belle said excitedly and ran up to me and hugged me. I returned it. I looked over at Cookie Crumbles, who also hugged me the only way a mother knew how when Sweetie had finished. "Oh, my poor baby, I can't imagine what you had to go through." Mom said. "Mother, if I can unpack my things." "Of course" I went up to the guest bedroom, and unpacked. Opal had settled down in a corner and went to sleep. Leaving her there, I rejoin me family in the living room. "How did it happen? What was it like? What..?" Sweetie Belle began asking a lot of questions, but mom gave her a look. "It's okay mom, I don't mind." I said. Dad turned off the TV. I started with Sweetie Belle's questions. "It started with nightmares I've been having for a week. I learned that my friends have been having them too, so we got together at Sugarcube Corner for a sleep over. I was having my usually nightmares when something woke me up, a black cloud which turned out to be the nightmare forces. They foalnapped me and took me to the moon. The Nightmare forces then used the fear of being abandoned by my friends, the subject of my nightmares, and assured me that they would never abandon me, so I..." I paused. Did I really let them corrupt me? Or was I tricked. Nightmare's words replayed in my head. "It was YOU who allowed my minions to "corrupt" you. It was YOUR choice to allow your body to be my vessel. And now, it's YOU who'll have to deal with the consequences." Was it my fault? Princess Luna did say that they had tricked me, but is it on my that I believe they would stay by my side? "Rarity?" I shook my head, coming back to reality."You don't have to tell us if you don't want to." Sweetie continued. I didn't replied, I only nodded. The clock at town hall struck six. "Well, it's dinner time," Mom said getting up,"I'll make some salad." "Let me help you." I said. "Thank you dear." Mom smiled. We went into the kitchen and mom started to pull out vegetables from the fridge, humming to herself a song had a somewhat gruff tone to it. I knew we were both ignoring the elephant in the room, but it was clear somepony wanted an explanation later. Dinner was uneventful and we soon went to bed. *** Rather than a black empty void, I found myself in a throne room. The walls were painted midnight blue with stain glass windows depicting various tributes to the night. At the end of the room was a throne, upon sat Nightmare Moon with her armor. "Why aren't you Nightmare Rarity?" I asked. "You see, this is the body I told you about. I figured I would use it this time." "That's it? That's the body you made for yourself Nightmare? I though you would have taken a more original approach." I sneered. "Shut up! I liked being Nightmare Moon. However, we aren't here to discuss me. Let's talk about you darling." Nightmare said. "What's there to talk about." I asked nervously. "That moment of doubt for one. what happened to "A choice I made under the influence of your minions!" I'd say it was your choice all along. You know, it's been said a pony is as good as the choices they make. I told you that you where going to have to face the consequences for your actions, and it seem you have more baggage from you past that you have to deal with." As much as I hate to admit it, she was right. Even if I was influence into making that fateful decision, I still had the option to refuse. What does that say about me? "Your weak," Nightmare continued, apparently able to read my mind, "It says your weak. I gave Rainbow Dash a stronger temptation than loyalty, I gave her a chance to be superior to her heroes by being captain of a rival flight team, and she turned me down, yet your start to fear your friends leaving you and jump on the opportunity for sworn loyalty. Oh ye of little faith." "There is one thing you overlooked though." Nightmare looked at me. "What?" "I'm not weak, I have WEAKNESSES. Was I scared my friends would take my generosity for grant and ditch me for somepony else. It's that fear of dismiss and toss aside, that weakness of mine, mixed the nightmares your forces gave me that led me to make a poor choice. But ponies have strengths too. There was a time I was captured by Diamond Dogs, but I was able to keep a hold on the situation. Thanks to my eye for details, I noticed that the Diamond dogs aren't the smartest being around, and thus was able to control the situation without the need for violence. Despite..." Then I realized I may have said to much. My fears were put to rest when Nightmare only laughed. "You escape that situation by being annoying, anypony could have though of it. Fine Rarity, you're not weak, you have weaknesses, but I know what they are," she said over-confidently,"have a good morning, and don't worry about a repeat of that last time in public, I have better thing to do than bug you during the day." With that, everything disappeared with a flash of light. Family is ForeverI woke with a yawn that morning, the smell of oatmeal greeted my nose. I forced myself out of bed and made it up. As I brushed my mane, I though about what I was going to have to go through. Surely, it would be the end of the world, but I don't want to hurt them, and what I'd have to say might. I proceeded to take off my fake eyelashes to put on a fresh set when, "Ouch!" I cried. When I was a filly, I use to have real eyelashes. Then when I turned twelve, I woke up to find that they fell off my face and didn't grow back for some odd reason. I've been wearing fake eyelashes ever since. I just wish my friends hadn't found out on that train ride to Canterlot when we were taking the "Marzipan Mascarpone Meringue Madness" cake to the National Dessert Competition. I do feel bad that I stole a bite, but for the record, there's not doubt in my mind it would have won. I'm just glad the Cakes weren't mad about us eating the cake before the competition. So long as Rainbow, Fluttershy and I hadn't cost them the competition and we learned to have better self-control, there was no point in punishing us. Still to make it up to them, we had to give a critique of the MMMM, and then they made a smaller version of the original for all of us to enjoy...wow, I got off topic in my own head. Actually, the MMMM did have a nice design, I wonder if a dress could, no No NO, STAY ON TOPIC! Anyway, fake eyelashes are usually easy to remove, they slide right out. They only reason they would be a hassle to remove now would be... I reached up and felt them with my hoof. "THEY'RE REAL! I HAVE REAL EYELASHES AGAIN! Oh Opal, isn't it great?" The cat look at me as if to say, "is that really important?" "I suppose not. But where did they come from. Maybe it was the Nightmare's magic? Regardless, I need breakfast." We went downstairs to the kitchen where the rest of my family were. "Good morning Rarity." Mom said. "Morning." I replied, and took a seat next to Sweetie Belle. She shoved her spoon in her mouth as soon as I sat down. "It's okay Sweetie, I can finish now." Mother served me my oatmeal and sat down herself. "As I was saying last night, the Nightmare Forces took me to the moon, where they manipulated my emotions and played of my weaknesses, making me believe that my friends would abandon me. When they assured me I need not fear them neglecting me, I allowed them to corrupt me." It was silent for a moment when Sweetie spoke up again. "I thought you would know better" The comment caught my parents off guard because it insightful, but I could answer easily. "Your right Sweetie, I should have known better. But fear clouded my judgement, my fear or loneliness and neglect. I didn't want to go through life without friends or anypony to be their for you. I suppose that's why I'm so generous, so as to have friends. But when you have friends to give to, you can't help but wonder if they appreciate you as much as you appreciate them, and the fear of being forgotten takes hold." Sweetie Belle looked thoughtful. "Alright Sweetie, finish your oatmeal, it's time for school." Mom continued. Sweetie Belle ate up, as did the rest of us. After breakfast mom asked me to take Sweetie to school. I was nervous to go out in public again. The trip over to my parents house was during the evening and nopony was about, but Ponyville is usually busy in the morning. When we got outside, everything seemed normal, no pitying looks this time either. I dropped of Sweetie Belle and returned to my parents. Part of told me to just go back to my boutique, but I'd only have to face it later. I arrived at the house to find my parents in the living room, serious expressions on their faces. "Sit down," Mother ordered. I did as much. "We know you are recovering from that incident and we can see you've made some progress. Your father and I also realized this conversation may cause you to take some steps back, so we are going to be straightforward and ask you to do the same, we all need this to be as quick as possible for everypony's sake." I nodded."Why did you distance yourself from us?" Mom asked bluntly. There is was. I knew it was coming. I had always suspected that my parent would get upset with me slowing inching away from them. I'm not proud for doing it to them, and even less so of my reason why. But they asked me to be direct. "Because I was ashamed of your fashion sense and mannerisms." I replied. Both their eyes went wide at this, but I continued. "I wanted to pursue a career as a fashion designer, and I couldn't afford anypony know that I had unfashionable parents who acted like bumpkins, that would make it hard for me to taken seriously. But I didn't want too hurt you guys, I still love and respect both of you. Why do you think I live close and come visit every now and again?" Cookie Crumbles let out a squeal and sobbed into her hooves. Magnum comforted her best he could. "I'm sorry if I seemed hostile. You have to understand dear, it's just that, as you began to drift away from us, I began to think I had failed as a mother." "It's okay Mom, I would have felt the same way if my daughter did the same." I replied. "One question though Rarity." Dad said. "Shoot." "Is our fashion sense really that bad?" "Think of it this way, fashion is what you make of it. Unfortunately, if what you made doesn't agree with the popular opinion, it's not "in". I never agreed with the latter part, but it is what it is." "Are you sure that's what you want to do if what you say is true?" Mom asked. I nodded. "It's who I am." Too Many Pinkie PiesShortly afterwards, my parents and I all left for work. When I arrived at my boutique, I began making the dress Opal had inspired yesterday. Given my skills and ability, I was able to finish it in two hours, a personal best. "There, what do you think Opal?" I asked. The cat purred. They say a dog is ponies best friends, but you know you have a keeper when your cat follows you to work. "You know, it's funny how I haven't gotten any orders yet. You don't suppose that the Nightmare Rarity thing scared away costumers, do you?" Opal frowned. "Well, I guess if I want business to pick up again, I should advertise, shouldn't I?" Opal meowed and walked way. I put on the dress and looked at myself in the mirror. Not bad, but my usual mane style didn't complement the dress. I got some hair supplies and restyled my mane accordingly. I look at the finished product. "Fabulous!" I said pleased. But I didn't want to risk ruining it, and I couldn't show it off until I was in the right place, so I put my black cloak on over my display and went out to find a go place to start advertising. As I walked around town, I approach the local cafe. Something that looked like an orange with blue-jay wings flew over my head, then something bumped into my face. When I got to my senses again, I saw it was Pinkie. " Ooooh, Rarity, wanna see Twilight turn me into an orange? It's gonna be funna-fun-fuuun!" Pinkie said. Is she for real? "As fun as creating this haute couture ensemble that I just finished making? Delightful, no?" I asked, taking off the cloak to reveal my latest creation. Pinkie gasped. "This is terrible!" Ouch, my pride. And my ego. And my feelings, but mostly my pride. "I admit it's perhaps not my finest work, but I–" Pinkie pushed her muzzle against my own. "You had total-awesome-amazing fun and missed out on it?! Neh! Wait! What if there's more awesome amazing fun with friends happening somewhere in Ponyville right now that I'm missing out on!" Pinkie dashed away without another word. I looked at Twilight and Spike. "We weren't going to turn her into an orange! I swear!" Spike defended. "I know you weren't." I smiled. "So, how are Rarity?" Twilight asked. "Fine Darling, I had a run in with you know who last night, but I realized something important that time." "Oh good, seems your recovery is well under way then." "Yes, it is." "Hey, that's a beautiful dress Rarity, did you make it for yourself?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, it's nice." Spike said dreamily. He's so cute when he's fawning over me. "Thank you Darling, no it's not for me. Business has slowed down since, you know what, and I'm trying to drum up some more." "So your wearing that as an advertisement?" Twilight asked. "Yes." "You should try the train station. You can probably try your luck with visiting ponies from Canterlot. If you hurry, you can catch the train in five minutes." "Thank you Twilight dear, I think I will. Bye Spike." I replied, and headed toward the train station. When I arrived, the train was just pulling in. Just as ponies where getting of I realized I didn't have my cloak. I looked back to see if I had dropped it when a voice spoke to me. "Excuse me?" I turned to the source of the voice. "Fancy Pants!" I exclaimed. "Oh, Miss Rarity. Nice to see you again." Fancy Pants replied. "Likewise, good sir. To what does Ponyville owe the privilege of your visit?" I asked. "I'm I need of a new suit, something "chic, unique, and magnifique". I ran into Sapphire Shores, who was wearing a magnificent gem studded suit the other day and she directed me here. She also told me she got quite the bargain." "I see." I just hope he doesn't find out how she got that bargain. "So, shall we go?" the stallion asked. "Yes." I replied, and led him back to my boutique. "You look lovely in that dress by the way." Fancy pointed out. "Oh, thank you. I was just advertising for my shop by wearing this really." I blushed. "Really? You've made a name for yourself in Canterlot after your last visit, I would think you wouldn't need it." "Well yes, I usually don't need to advertise, but since the..." "Oh, that, I wouldn't worry about it if I were you." "I shouldn't worry about how the public sees me after I became the second Nightmare Moon?" "Princess Luna was sure to put the public's fear to rest when she returned to the castle." We arrived at my shop. "Ladies first." Fancy said, holding the door for me. "Thank you, good sir." I entered the shop and headed for my room. "Please stand on that platform while I get out of this dress." I pointed to the platform. I took off the dress and restyled my mane to it's usual style. Then I got my sewing glasses and measuring tape. Fancy was already standing on the platform when I return, so I started measuring him. "Is there anything in particular you want?" I asked. "Something I could wear to this years Grand Galloping Gala. I going to trust you'll know what's best for me. I was told what happened when you last left it up to the customers to do the designing." I laughed. "Of course." I finished the measurements and levitated my sketch book over to me. I wrote down the measurements and sketched a stallion body build. "Forgive me if I'm prying, but what is it like?" I looked up from my sketch book. "What was what like?" "Living the fact that... you became a monster." I put the sketch book down. "Well, you feel guilty, even afterwards. You wonder how or why you let yourself become such a thing. But most of all, it's constantly on your mind, holding you in a perpetual state sadness." "If I may, I beg to differ." "You may, elaborate please, anything to help me recover." "It would seem YOU'RE holding on it our of fear of such an event to be repeated, and because you haven't let it go, it continues to haunt you." I had to give it to him, he had a point. "I think that you need to accept the fact that it happened, and take from it the lesson you learned. The sooner you do that, the sooner you can move on." I nodded. That must be what's holding me back. "Thank You sir, I needed that." "Not at all, anything to help a..." Out of nowhere and herd of Pinkie Pies, wait what!? Having one Pinkie Pie is one thing, but a whole herd? Where did they even come from? Anyway, the Pinkies stormed into my shop and started playing with everything, chanting "FUN" the all the while. "Get out, GET OUT, GET OUT!" I ordered. The Pinkies hopped out the front door, leaving my precious boutique in a mess. "Fancy Pants, I'm so sorry." The stallion seemed no the worse. "You know, when I bought the ticket the pony behind the window asked me if I had a death wish. When I asked her to explain, she said all kinds of crazy things go on in this town. I can see she wasn't kidding." "Well, this is actually a first for us, if anypony knows what's going on, it's Twilight Sparkle. Come with me, please." We headed to the library, a crowd of angry ponies already there. "Okay, everypony, please, calm down!" Twilight begged above the angry shouts. As much I as I know she can't solve the problem with so much noise, "Calm down? I just had a Pinkie hurricane raging through my shop!" I said angrily. "And they trashed our critter picnic!" Fluttershy put in sternly. The crowd began to shout again. " Please, everypony, hang on while I try to figure something out! Come on, Spike." Twilight called before disappearing into the library. She return a moment later. "Does anypony here know how we can tell the real Pinkie Pie from all the rest of them?" Twilight asked. She got me there, as well as everypony else in the crowd. After alot of "ums" and "I don't knows" one of the Pinkie Pies spoke up. "Twilight! I have to talk to you, I need your help!" " Excuse me, whoever you are, but I'm not talking to any of you Pinkies unless you're the real Pinkie." Twilight replied, the whole time another Pinkie rudely imitating her. "Oh, but, but I am the real Pinkie!" the Pinkie exclaimed. "No, you're not! I'm the real Pinkie!" another Pinkie said. Soon there were Pinkies everywhere claiming to be the real Pinkie. Two even came out from underneath Fancy Pants's hat claiming so. Perhaps not surprising they stopped saying "I'm the real Pinkie" and began chanting "fun" again. By now, everypony I was fleeing the scene. "You'd best return to Canterlot, it's not safe for you here Fancy Pants." I told the stallion. "Yes, I suppose. You'll have..." "Yes, don't worry about it, I'll have it done for you as soon as possible. I just hope this hasn't ruined your experience too badly." "Not at all, Miss Rarity. I will say though, this is quite an interesting place to live if things like this happen all the time." "Not all the time, but these occasional events do keep things interesting and...well, it take a certain kind of pony to live in this town." "Like the mares who wield the elements of harmony?" "Yes, and those willing to put up with our antics." "I'm sure, very well, I'll see you later Miss Rarity." and with that, Fancy Pants raced off the the train station. "Rarity!" Fluttershy called. I ran over to her. "I slipped out of the crowd when the Pinkies showed up. I got the woodland critters to take us in until Twilight figures out how to clear this mess up." "Okay, where?" "A hollowed out tree near the entrance to the Everfree Forest." "I'll meet you there Darling." "Okay" Fluttershy flew away and I ran back to the boutique. I collected Opal and headed for the tree. We arrived to find Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash already there with other animals. shortly afterwards, we heard hoofsteps approaching. Rainbow Dash looked out. "Hey, Twilight!" she called. Twilight ran in. " I've been looking all over for you ponies. What are you all doing here?" she asked. "Fluttershy spoke with the woodland critters, and they've agreed to take us into their home 'til the Pinkie storm dies down." Rainbow Dash replied. "You guys, we're gonna fix this. And I know exactly how." Twilight said. "Are we gonna lose our real Pinkie Pie?" Fluttershy asked. "I don't think so. Now come along. I've already got Applejack and her family rounding up all the Pinkies." Twilight Sparkle replied. Twilight explained the situation as she led us to town hall. She told us about the Mirror Pool and her plan to get the real Pinkie Pie back as well as sent the clones back to the pool. Just as we arrived, we could here all the Pinkie's shouting "Fun!" The doors where opened and they rushed in, followed by Applejack. Once they were in, Twilight got up on the stage she had prepared ahead of time. "Welcome, Pinkies, welcome. Please have a seat and make yourselves comfortable. [pause] Okay, I suppose you can't be comfortable staying in one place, but have a seat anyway." No of the Pinkies were listening to her. "Sit down!" Twilight yelled. The Pinkies stopped shouting and sat down. "Better. Now, I suppose you're all wondering why I've gathered you all here today." "For Fun?" a Pinkie asked. "No, just the opposite actually." Rainbow Dash flew in holding a sad looking Pinkie. "Wait up, I got one more! Found this one poking at the ground with her hoof, drawing frowny faces." "Have her come sit with the others." Twilight replied. Rainbow Dash dropped the sad Pinkie near the back and Twilight continued. Now that I think about it, none of the other Pinkies looked sad, either that one was a dud or..."Pinkies, you've been brought here to take a test." "Awww!" the clones all said on chorus. Twilight continued. "Don't worry, it's a simple test, about as simple as they come, and whoever passes gets to stay." The clones spoke among themselves. "Curtain, please. The test... will be watching paint dry!" The Pinkies gasped. "On your mark, get set, go!"" The Pinkies stared at the wall. "Ooh, this is so exciting!" Spike cheered. But after a while, he changed his tune. "Okay, maybe not that exciting." The Pinkie clones continued to stare at the wall until something distracted them, to which Twilight zapped them on the spot. This continued until it came down to the last two. The suspense was killing me. Finally, Rainbow had had enough. "Ugh, I can't take it anymore! Somepony's making balloon animals!" Rainbow pointed out. "What? Where?" one Pinkie asked. Zap. We turned to the Pinkie at the back of the room still staring at the paint. "Pinkie, you can look away now." Twilight told her. Pinkie Pie blinked."I passed?" "You passed. You're the only Pinkie who kept staring at the wall." "I had to. I just had to. I couldn't leave my friends, I just couldn't. But I guess sometimes I will have to choose between them." "I knew you'd be up to the challenge." "I'm me! I'm me! I'm me! Or am I? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I am." We all had to laugh. "Well girls, I've a letter to write, see you later. C'om Spike." Pinkie Pie said, and walked out of Town Hall, Spike following her. "Wait, is she walking?" I asked. "After today, I wouldn't be surprised." Twilight replied. We met Pinkie at Sugarcube Corner later that day. "Hi, Pinkie Pie. We were thinking we should go out and celebrate." Twilight said. "You up for some wheelbarrow races?" Applejack asked. "Or I could take everypony on a cloud ride!" Rainbow Dash suggested. "I could throw a party with punch and zesty cucumber sandwiches! Ooh!" I put in, cheering a bit at the end. "You wanna know exactly what I feel like doing right now?" Pinkie asked. She backed slowly into the shop and fell asleep. Like Twilight said, after today, you wouldn't be surprised. "That looks like fun." Fluttershy said. We laughed. "Oh, Pinkie." Applejack chucked and closed the door. We decided to go our separate ways of the rest of the day. Sure Ponyville can be a he-cit place ti live, but with the help of good friends, almost any problem can be overcome. I smiled and returned to my shop and returned to Fancy Pants's suit. An Unusual RequestThird Person POV The unicorn stallion sat behind his desk, his room flooded with papers, but that mattered little. He yawned as he continued the with the task at hoof. The day he had had was enough to send him to bed as soon as the moon rose, but alas, that was a luxury he couldn't afford at the moment. No, he had to plan out the next day for Princess Celestia, and the day with Princess Luna temporarily taking charge for the day had set him back. He wasn't worried however. He was known to have organization skills that rivaled that of Twilight Sparkle, so he was able to find what papers he needed. He should be done in shortly. As he worked, there was a knock at his door. "Come in." he called. A pegasus pony who look more that a casual visitor than a member of the royal staff opened the door and walked in. "Oh, it's you" the unicorn greeted. "Nice to see you again too, Kibitz." the pegasus snarked. "What do you want Instant Message?" Kibitz asked. "The princess want to see you in the throne room." Instant replied. "Thank you, I shall see to it at once." Kibitz huffed, getting up from his desk and walking past the pegasus. As he made his way to the throne room, Instant flew alongside. "You know, just because we work for the princesses doesn't mean we have to uptight all the time. I'm sure they'd understand if we cut loose a little." "There's a difference between "a little" and all the time. Of course you wouldn't understand that, your only a messenger." Kibitz rebutted. "Ouch, my pride. Oh well, if your not going to take me seriously, then at least be polite about it." "I'd be surprised if anypony took you seriously, with you making sarcastic comments about everywhere you go. Honestly, your a bigger joke than Blueblood, and that's saying something!" "I wouldn't say that." a new voice interrupted. The two ponies turn to the source, a tall slender alicorn. However, it wasn't the one Kibitz was expecting. "Princess Celestia!?" Kibitz exclaimed. "You didn't think I was going to make Luna work three straight shifts, did you?" Celestia asked. "Truth be told Princess, I though you would." Kibitz replied. Celestia chuckled. "No Kibitz, I would never do that." she paused for a moment, "You are dismissed Instant Message, just tell Luna there are some ponies waiting for her in the castle gardens." "Of course Princess." Instant replied. He bowed and left. "Now Kibitz, as you know the Grand Galloping Gala is coming up. This year, I think it would fitting for Luna and I to wear themed dresses to the gala." "Allow me to guess, you would like for me to schedule a fitting time for both yourself and Princess Luna." "Close, I've already taken care of that. I want you to leave the day as open for Luna and I as much as possible." Kibitz was shocked. "But Princess, you days are always..." "That was an order Kibitz." "As you wish, Princess." Kibitz sighed defeated. "I do wish. Also, I have something for you." Celestia continued, levitating a small object toward the royal scheduling adviser. "My watch!" Kibitz cheered. "I though it was lost forever when Princess Luna tossed it away in frustration." "I found it in the gardens. I know it was your grandfather's when he was the royal scheduling adviser." Just then, Luna sprinted past, heading for a nearby balcony. "I wonder what's the matter. Oh well, I'm Luna will take care of it, anyway, you are dismissed Kibitz." Celestia put in. "Of course, good night Princess." Kibitz replied, bowed and left. Princess Luna's POV There was knock at my door. Good grief, what's a princess got to do to get some sleep. "Come in." I replied. The royal messenger walked in. "What is it?" I asked. "Princess Celestia says there are ponies waiting for you in the gardens." "Why would...Fancy Pants!" I cried, and shot out of bed. I ran as fast as I could toward the balcony. "Ah, there you are Princess." Fancy Pants greeted. "Sorry to keep you waiting." I replied. "Not at all, Princess. Shall we return to our game then?" "Yes, or course." As of now, I was fighting a losing battle. Alas, chess is a game of wits, even if you are using real ponies as game pieces. As we played, I noticed a chance to turn this game around. "Queen to E9" I ordered. The pony who represented my queen did so. "That'll be check, sir." "Quite confident aren't you Princess? Unfortunately, you failed the notice something important. Knight to D4." Fancy Pant's knight went to D4. "Checkmate your highness." I would have be super angry if I wasn't so tired. "Good game, sir. You're all dismissed." As everypony dispersed, Fancy Pants spoke up. "Princess, if I may ask you something." "Of course." "It something I don't think you'd want to discuss." "Try me." "Did you have any control as Nightmare Moon?" I sighed. It always hurts to think about it, but given recent event, I have to open up. "No, as soon I became Nightmare Moon, my body was no longer under my control. Everything Nightmare Moon did was the work of an evil shadow queen with my mentality and goals." "Ah, I understand now. Thank you, your Highness." Fancy Pants replied. Wait, what is it he understands now? "Why do you ask?" "Well, before coming to the Canterlot Garden Society tea party, I was in Ponyville visit one Miss Rarity for a suit to the Grand Galloping Gala. We spoke a bit about the Nightmare incident, and I got curious as to how these "Nightmare Forces" operated. You hadn't told us that and no pony asked." "I see,"I yawned, "well, good night sir." I replied, and went to bed. ConfrontationI returned to my room and went back to sleep. As I drifted off, a dream took shape. *** I was sitting on a balcony on the old castle in the Everfree forest, looking up my handiwork. " It's so beautiful, such a shame nopony is awake to appreciate it." a familiar voice said behind me. I looked behind me, finding the source of the voice. Behind me was Nightmare Moon, armor and all. "The last time you said that, I made the biggest mistake of my life." I replied. "You told me it was what you wanted." Nightmare replied. "When I told you I wanted to overthrow my sister, I didn't mean to kill her, just to be more powerful so I could have complete control of Equestria so ponies would pay more attention to me. I never wanted the night to last forever, that would kill the population." "Oh sure, blame me for 1000 years in the moon, it wouldn't of happened if you didn't make the deal." "You speak the truth, but overlooked something." "First the marshmallow, now you. What is that then." "Was it me who was so incompetent as to only have lasted three minutes in a fight with Celestia? It was you who had control" Nightmare huffed. "You're going to regret that." She disappeared without another word, most likely going after Rarity again. Unfortunately, I can't help Rarity this time, but the good news is she wouldn't need my help. Nightmare's POV I sure am glad I went back to the castle and retrieved my old Nightmare Moon armor. Such a shame its only purpose is to make me feel more intimidating, but oh well. I made my way to Rarity once again, careful not to make my presence known just yet. This gave me a chance to look inside her memories. When I had seen enough, I made the black void back drop and waited. At last, she showed up. "Ah, perfect timing." I greeted. "What is it this time?" the marshmallow asked annoyed. "I was think, if you have weaknesses, you have strengthens as well." "Right, so your point is?" "If you represent the element of generosity, then that must be one of your strengthens, right?" "Right." "Wrong!" The marshmallow look confused. "How do you figure that?" "You're not generous, you're greedy." Rarity took the defensive. "I am NOT greedy." "Oh really? Tell me, was it generous when you used your beauty to manipulation Spike to give you his fire ruby? Was it generous to push those other mares out of way to catch the boutique at the royal wedding. What about the time you went to Canterlot by yourself and hardly worked on that dress you wanted to make for Twilight's birthday in favor for experiencing life in the upper class?" Rarity tried to think up a response, but couldn't come up with anything. "That's what I though, you hypocrite." I laughed. "Have a good morning." Rarity's POV BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I reached over to turned the alarm off. I dragged myself out of bed and went through the motions of my usual routine. Then I went downstairs to get some breakfast. Nopony else was up, so I started make some toast and eggs for everypony. They came down just I had finished. "Good morning Rarity." Mom said cheerfully. "Good morning Mom, I made breakfast." "What did you make?" Sweetie asked. "Just toast and eggs." I replied, serving Opal her breakfast. We sat down and ate. Just as we had finished, there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it." I opened the door to find Applejack on the other side. "Morning Rarity." she said. "Good morning Applejack, what brings you by?" I asked. "Well, cider season starts tomorrow, and I was wondering..." "Of course I'd help Applejack." "Great, let's go to the library, the rest ought to be there." "Okay then. I'm heading out, see you tonight!" I called to my family and left with Applejack. As we walked, I noticed puddles everywhere. "Did it rain last night?" "Eeyup, and that's not all. Apparently, there was a robbery at Sugarcube Corner last night. Fortunately for the Cakes, Mare Do Well was there and was able to stop the thief. I heard from Pinkie Pie this morning when she dropped by." "Wow, that amazing. Wait, why did Pinkie visit you so early?" "She came by for some apple for a pie she's making today." "I see." We were silent for a moment. "Applejack, am I greedy?" Applejack gave me a look. "You, greedy? Well ,everypony can be greedy now and again, you nor I are no exception. But I think you already know the answer to that Rarity." I looked at her. "Look at what you've done in the past, and then answer your own question. Actions speak louder than words after all." Before I had a chance to consider, we arrived at the library, the other four where already there. “Hey everypony!” Applejack called. The four ponies turned to us just as Applejack and I walk in. “Yall know that cider season starts tomorrow, so I was wondering if yall can help us again?” “Of course we will, just this time, let’s not bust out the Vodka.” Twilight laughed. “Hey, it was time for celebration, they would have been nuts not too.” Pinkie said defensively. Only she could party so hard as to keep some level state of mind after 30 mugs of spiked cider. “Your right their Pinkie, we did beat Flim and Flam at the contest, but yall did get slammed, especially Rainbow.” Applejack teased. “Hey, I had to wait three days for one mug, and everypony knows it tastes better spiked.” RD said defensively. “Alright, come on girls, we gotta set for tomorrow.” Twilight said. With that, we left for Sweet Apple Acres to set up for Cider season. GenerositySpike's POV I had just finished shelving the last of the returned book when I heard the door open. "Spike!" a familiar voice called. "Here Twilight!" I called back. The unicorn walked into the room looking tired. "Long day?" I asked, climbing down the ladder. "Yes, we had to set up for Cider Season tomorrow, and it wasn't easy." "So, I guess that means we're done for the day?" "Yes." "Great, there's something I have to do right now." "Go ahead, Spike." I ran up to our room and pulled out the fire ruby from under my bed. I wish I hadn't forgotten to give it back to Rarity after the whole Nightmare Rarity because it was the same one I gave her before my 12th birthday, and she had made a necklace out of it. I took it out of the necklace to remind her of who she was. "I'm heading out, I'll be right back!" I called. I ran as fast as I could toward the house Rarity was staying at with the ruby in tow. When I got there, I knocked on the door. The fabulousity overload known as Rarity answered it. "Oh Spike, what are you doing here?" she asked. "I just came by to give this back." I replied, holding out the precious gem. Rarity gasped. "Spike, I was afraid I had lost it!" "I took from your necklace, when you became Nightmare Rarity, I was hoping to use it to remind you who you were." I know it was technically stealing, but it was for a good cause. Besides, I returned it. "Well, it did help, thank you for returning it." Then Rarity leaned down and kissed my cheek. I never get tired of that. Rarity's POV "Goodnight, Spike." "Y-Y-Y-Yeah. Good night Rarity." The little dragon replied, and stumbled home. I closed the door and looked at the precious ruby. I remember how much I wanted it the first time I saw it. Nightmare was right, I was greedy of me to charm it from Spike, but I always value it above any other jewel out there. Not because fire rubies are rare, but because what this one came to represent for me. Pure Generosity. Spike didn't have to give it to me, but he did anyway, twice. And the fact it was from him makes it even more valuable to me. But why? Is it because he's a good friend. Is it because he'll do anything for me? Or is it...no, I don't think so. Anyway, that begs the question, am I generous? Applejack had said to let my actions answer that. Well, best not keeping Nightmare waiting. *** Nightmare was waiting for me in the throne room from before. "Well, let's hear your rebuttal." I thought about what I had done in the past and what it had done for me. "Everypony can be greedy now and again. I myself am no exception. However, I am generous most of the time. I gave the sea serpent my tail when his I made those dresses for my friends, despite how much time and effort went into them, as well as how badly they came out. I even admitted to knowing my friends when I could have easily denied them when I went to Canterlot. I even kissed Spike in return when he gave me the ruby. So yes, I can be greedy, but I'm not always greedy. Generosity is one of my strengths, but just because I'm the element of generosity, doesn't mean I should be the pinnacle of it." Nightmare looked thoughtful for a moment. "You must think your pretty tough, don't you." "I held my own against any army of changelings." "Well, it's all about you, isn't it?" "I beg your pardon?" "Don't be so thick, you know what I'm getting at." I considered. Sure there have been times I was self-centered, like with Sweetie Belle while my parents went on vacation, or even when I went to Canterlot, but as with greed, I'm not always like that. "Oh sure, it's not always so obvious, things like that can go subtly unnoticed most of the time." The Nightmare Moon wannabe smirked. I didn't have a response for this. "Food for thought." she finished. Her statement was punctuated with the beeping of the alarm clock. *** When I had prepared for the day, I walked downstairs. Nopony else was awake since I had to get an early start for cider season. I boiled some oatmeal and sat down to eat when it had finished. "Good morning." a voice said behind me. I looked back. Cookie Crisp had come to join me. "Good morning Mother." I replied. Mom helped herself to some of the oatmeal I had made and sat down at the table. "Mom, when you look at me, do you see a pony whose self-centered?" The question caught the older mare of guard. She took a moment to consider her answer. "I know I didn't raise you to behave like that. Why do you ask?" I told her I had wanted to stay them to get over the Nightmare Rarity thing. I didn't tell them about the evil queen who keeps invading my mind. "I get the feeling ponies look at me and get the impression I'm full of myself." Mom looked thoughtful. "Well, you can't control what others think of you, but maybe you can make a better image for yourself." I smiled. "Thanks Mom, I'll see you later." I said as I headed for Sweet Apple Acres. Feeling's RealizedToday has been a sad one to say the least. Thirty minutes into cider season and the Rainbow Dash got a visit from her parents. She told us that her grandfather was on his deathbed and she had to go with them to see him. Naturally we let her know we would be there for her. Forget being turned into a Nightmare Moon, losing somepony close to you is ten times worse. She was gone for about fifteen minutes when she returned and asked us to come to the funeral, which was, rather strangely also fifteen minutes. It was just us, Rainbow's parents, and a priest there. Apparently Rainbow Strike wasn't particularly close to more ponies. Anyway, after the funeral, we went back to work and finished up in record time. After the cider rush, Applejack said that the line is usually shorter after everpony in Ponyville had some of their cider, and didn't need us to help anymore as they could manage. That said, it was Saturday and Fluttershy and I were late for our weekly treatment. Lotus and Aloe were worried about us when we didn't show up at our usual time, but after I explained what happened, it was business as usually. I allowed them to go through our treatment, just to help us relax. Near the end, I cleared my throat. I had something important to ask her. I was thinking about my feeling about Spike after me gave me the fire ruby back. “Fluttershy Daring, can I ask you something?” I asked. “Um, sure what is it?” Fluttershy asked. “You know how Rainbow Dash and yourself got together? How did it happen?” I asked. “Well, it happened after Angel ran off. Rainbow came back with him later, and I asked her why she brought him back. She said because she couldn't stand to see me sad. I guess that's when she realized she loved me, and we went from there.” Fluttershy replied. “Oh, well you see, you know how Spike…feels about me?” I asked. Fluttershy nodded. “Well, I recently realized the feeling …is mutual.” I replied unsurely. “Really? You like him that way?” Fluttershy asked. “No, I LOVE him. I asked Twilight how old he was and she told me he was 12. As you know, a pony is a legal adult at that age, so we could be a thing, so to speak, which I really want. But I don’t know how to get us started.” I said. I had asked during Spike's last birthday, before he became an adult dragon. Fluttershy smiled. “Just tell Spike how you feel, and the rest should work itself out.” she said reassuringly. I returned the smiled. “Thank you Daring, I will.” I replied. As we exited the spa, I race off to the library. When I had arrived, I found Twilight with her muzzle buried in a book, and a pile of books stacked next her. "Good morning Twilight Darling." I said. "Hey Rarity." Twilight replied, not even looking at me. "Is Spike around?" "No, I gave him the day off." "Do you know where he is?" "Sweet Apple Acres most likely." "Thanks Darling." I replied, and left. Why would Spike be there? If we needed him there this morning, Twilight would have brought him. Oh well, whatever he's doing, I'm sure he doesn't want to be disturbed, I'll just come back tomorrow. I returned to my boutique and was just about to start brainstorming new designs when I heard the bell at my door rang. I went out to greet the customer, only to find Applejack and Spike there with a burnt pie. "Hey Rarity, we brought that pie you asked for." Applejack said behind a fake smile. I didn't know what was going on, but decided to play along. "Right, Thank you both, please bring it to the kitchen." I replied. We went into the kitchen and Spike set it down on the table. "I helped bake it." Spike said excitedly. I looked at pie they had brought, and it wasn't very appetizing. Still, Applejack urged me to go forward, and I couldn't let Spike down. Oh the things I do for love. I took a piece with a folk. I look at the object of my unannounced affection and took a bit. It was tasted awful. It was burned inside and out. "You even look good when you're chewing..." Spike laughed nervously," W-who looks good when they're chewing?" He asked Applejack. I took that opportunity to spit out that nasty pie. At least I can look good chewing, how many ponies can say that? "Aren't you gonna have some more?" Spike asked when I had "finished" "I... had a big lunch!" I lied. "It's ten in the morning." "Breakfast. A big breakfast." "Ohhh. Okay." "Maybe you could take her plate back to the kitchen and wash it off?" Applejack suggested "As you wish!" Spike replied, bowing as he left with the plate. "What was that all about?" I asked. Applejack sighed. "I saved Spike from some timberwolves in the Everfree Forest, and now he thinks he has to serve me forever." I squealed in delight. "Oh, what I wouldn't give to have somepony forever in my debt! I'd get them to organize my closets, and give me pedicures, and help me with my sewing and–" "Okay, I get it, havin' somepony to do things for you would be a dream come true. But I don't feel right havin' Spike thinkin' he owes me somethin'. You tasted that pie. Sometimes, his help isn't that helpful." CRASH Spike stood at the door into the kitchen, bubbles foaming from within. " Do you... have a broom I could borrow?" I pointed to the broom next to the door. He took it and disappeared behind a curtain of bubbles. "Somethings not right here. Spike can't be so incompetent, Twilight's library would be in a state of constant mess if he was." thought to myself when a voice interrupted. "AJ, Rarity, what's happening?" Rainbow Dash asked from the window I had left open. She seemed to be doing better since the funeral, she was in a good mood. "Applejack saved Spike's life and now he has to serve her forever." I replied. Rainbow Dash seemed to like the idea as much as me. "Sweet! What are you having him do? Wash your laundry? Clean your room? Help you with your unfinished novel? Mine's about this awesome Pegasus who's the best flyer ever and becomes the captain of the Wonderbolts!" "How ever did you come up with that ingeniously woven intricate plot line?" I asked sarcastically. "Just came to me." Rainbow replied, purposefully ignoring my sarcasm. "Thing is, I don't really want him to serve me forever, but I don't know how to get him to stop." Applejack pointed out. "That's easy! Just make him help you with something really, really hard." Rainbow replied. "I dunno. I don't want him to get hurt." "Puh-lease. He'll quit way before there's even a chance of getting hurt!" We heard a second crash, and Spike came out with a piece of pipping. What did he do in there? Rainbow Dash lowered her voice and whispered to Applejack. "Leave this to me," and turned her attention to Spike. "Sooo, Spike, Applejack was gonna help me stack some hay so I could practice smashing through it, but I'm feeling extra, extra powerful today." "You are?" Applejack asked. "Yeah, I am. So instead of hay, I'm gonna smash through rocks!" "Rocks?" Spike asked. "Yeah! A huge tower of rocks! And you're gonna build it!" "I am?" "Yeah, I mean, unless you don't wanna help Applejack..." "I do! It is Spike's dragon code!" "Then get to it!" Rainbow ordered. "Trust me. This is going to work like a charm." She re-assured Applejack as Spike rushed off. I was too worried about the pipe Spike had brought to worry about how that plan could go wrong. After they had left, I went into town to find a plumber. Rarity's Special SomedragonAfter I had gotten my kitchen fixed, I got a note to meet Applejack at Sweet Apple Acres in the mail. Apparently, the only way for Spike to stop serving Applejack is to get him to save her live. Applejack had briefed us on the plan. I have to admit, it I really didn't think it would work (no offense to Applejack, but especially not with her bad acting), but I was proven wrong when a REAL timber wolves appeared and became one big timberwolf. Fortunately, it seems one simply has to choke a timber wolf to defeat one. Oh well, at least I got to throw myself at Spike and show Applejack how to really act like a damsel in distress. So now I found myself resting on my couch when there was a knock at the door. I opened to door to the little dragon himself. "Good evening Spike." I greeted. "Hey Rarity." Spike replied, somewhat nervously. "What brings you by?" "I wanted to apologize for messing up your kitchen. I was pretty out of it today. I let my dragon code and the debt I owned Applejack get the better of me." "That's alright Spike, I know you only wanted to help, and be a noble dragon." "Yeah, but I only ended up being a bother. Twilight says it always happens when I try too hard. I remember this one time back in Canterlot, I accidentally interrupted one of Twilight's chemistry experiments, causing it to explode, and got upset with me. I spent the next day trying to make up for it, but only ended up doing more harm than good. Twilight got frustrated and asked what had gotten into me, and I had to explain myself. When I had finished, she apologized for over-reacting over that experiment, and reassured me that, even if she gets upset over things I do, doesn't mean she'll stop loving me any less. Later she learned the experiment exploded because of something she had put in it earlier and we had a good laugh about it." I looked at him. I thought about how he would do anything for me, like be my pin cousin, or fight Diamond Dogs. Thought about the shining example of a generous act he had pulled before his birthday, how he was able to overcome the beast within him. How he believe I could do the same. There where times in my life when his love sick face was all that was needed to brighten up my day. The boutique would feel empty when he left after a day of helping me. I had to tell him, but how? "Umm, Rarity?" Spike asked, snapping me out of it. "Hmm, yes?" "You okay?" "I'm fine Darling, could you do something for me?" "Anything." "Close your eyes and open your mouth." He did so without question. Leaning down, I opened my mouth, tilted my head, and stuck my tongue into his mouth. I'm sure I caught him off guard, but after a moment, he caught on and kissed me back. When I pulled away, Spike looked up at me hopefully. "Rarity... do you...?" "Yes Spike, I love you." Spike hugged me tightly. "I love you too." he sobbed. We stood there, hugging for a while. "Spike, do you think you can spend the night with me?" I asked. He nodded. Can you help me bring my stuff back from my parent's place?" Spike nodded again. "Come with me." I led my lover to the abode of my parent's house. "Would like me to come in and meet them?" Spike asked. "No, not yet. Wait out here, I'll be back with my stuff." I replied. I went into the house and went straight to the guest bedroom to pack. As I packed my bags, Cookie Crisp walked in. "Leaving us again already?" she asked jokingly. Usually, mom's jokes would get on my nerves, but I was too happy to care, so I ignored her. Then I realized my mistake. "Oh, you have a special somepony." "What ever gives you that idea?" I asked innocently, trying to play dumb. "Don't try fooling me Missy, I've been there." "Alright, yes, I do have a special somepony." I sighed. Knowing Mom, this was only going to go one way. "Who's the lucky stallion?" "Their not really a stallion." "Really? You always wanted a Prince Charming, but she's lucky to have met..." "Their not a mare either." Cookie Crisp could now only stare. The expression on her face saying what was on her mind. What are you dating child? "Hang on there mother, we've only just started. I want to make sure this'll work. If it does, then I'll introduce you, but until then, you need not worry about it." I reassured her. Mom nodded. I said my goodbye and re-joined Spike outside. He was kind enough to carry my stuff as we returned to my boutique and helped me put them away. Just as we finished, Spike yawned. "Does Spike Wikey have a bedtime?" I teased. At first, Spike looked at me annoyed, but a mischievous grin crossed his face. "You asked me to stay, remember?" "Woah, slow down their Spikey, let's not get ahead of ourselves." I warned. "Get ahead of ourselves?" I lowered my head and whispered in his ear. "We have to bathe first." Spike giggled and offered a claw. I rested a hoof in his claw and led him to my bathroom. I ran a bath and added the bubbles. Then we slipped into the tub. Then the fun began. One Trick PonyIt turns out Spike really knows how to please a mare. I don't know where he learned it, but after our bath, we went to bed and "banged" for three hours until we feel asleep. *** I was in a lavish bedroom. Gems decorated all the furniture. A large king sized bed stood in the center. and who should be sprawled across it but Nightmare. "Stunning, isn't it?" she asked casually. "I guess it okay. It has a...successful look to it." "I wasn't referring to the room." I didn't understand, the only other thing that she could call stunning was..."And you called me self-centered." I replied. "The difference is, I'm up front about it. Anyway, I thought this would be appropriate for our next meeting. You know, since you hooked up with and did a child, you perv." "He's an adult by pony standards." "Sure he is, but that's not the point. You claimed to be an expert on love, didn't you." "Yes, but..." "Yet you couldn't recognize the fact that you loved Spike for yourself until now. Your mother said it best, you wanted a Prince Charming. A handsome stallion who looked as good as you do and could also take care of all your troubles for you. Rather vain if you ask me." Wait a minute, greed, self-centeredness, vanity, there all weakness. Weaknesses I have. She's using my weaknesses against me. "Well, look who finally caught on. Took you long enough." It wasn't said with the usual confident. It was more like bravado. "That may be. But it's not going to work again Nightmare. That's how you got Luna and myself to be your host. I mean, the same trick ever time. Admit it, your a one trick pony." Nightmare got off the bed and glared at me. I only smiled smugly at her. Then to much shock, she smiled wickedly at me. "It appears as though you've won then. Congratulations. I shall take me leave now, but mark my words, this is not over." and with that, Nightmare charged up here horn, and vanished in a flash. I stared at the spot where she had vanished. "So you've beaten her." a voice came behind me. Princess Luna stood behind me. "I have, but's I'm afraid she'll be back." "You need not fear, it's not just your battle anymore." "Then what is to be done?" "We wait for her to make the first move." Luna said simply. I looked about the bedroom and noticed a light coming from a nearby window. "Sister raises the sun, the new day shall soon be upon us. Take care Rarity." "Goodbye Princess." I replied. and woke up. *** It took me moment for my sense to come to, but when they did, I found myself in bed with Spike. I was confused for a moment, but then I remembered what happened and smiled. I leaned down and kissed his forehead. "I love you Spike." I whispered. The dragon remained asleep, but muttered something in response that I couldn't understand. I got out of bed and went downstairs. Just as I got into the kitchen, there was a knock at my door. I answered it to a worried looking Twilight. "Rarity, have you seen Spike? I woke up this morning at my desk and he wasn't in the library. The last time I saw him, he went out to do something, but he didn't come back." "He's here Twilight." "What is he doing here?" Twilight asked. I hesitated to answer. "Me." Twilight stared. "It's not, I mean, nothing... I didn't..." "Just tell me what going on." Twilight demanded. "Spike and I... are a thing now." An angry look crossed Twilight's face. She opened her mouth to say something, but only sighed. "Twilight, I know this is sudden..." "What happened?" I told her how her assistant and I became an item and what followed, though I skipped over a good amount of details for the latter part. Twilight was looking thoughtful when I had finished. Then, she asked me one thing in a deadly serious tone. "Do you love him?" "Yes, I truly love Spike." "Okay, I can't do anything about it anyway, but I warn you Rarity, if you so much as make him shed a tear, so help me I will you apart." I nodded. "Would you like to come in?" I gulped. Twilight nodded walked. We made out way to the kitchen to find Spike already there, cooking a pot of oatmeal. "Spikey, when did you come down?" I asked. My lover remained silent for a moment. "Did you have a crush on a stallion before me?" "I did, yes." I replied, thinking about Prince Blueblood, Tempeh but that didn't last, and the other stallion I have a crush on. "Do you still have a crush on them, even though we're together?" He asked more angrily. Oh no, he must have found my shrine to Trenderhoof Relax Rarity, just explain yourself. It would help if Twilight would stop giving me the evil eye."Spike, I will always love you, but I have needs that only a pony can fill..." "I get it," Spike interrupted, "the cross species thing can only go so far. I guess both of us would want to be our own species at some point. I'm guessing we're going with a herd relationship then?" I guess that's one way to put it. Herds usually have loose relationships and allow it's members to have multiple partners. I walked over to Spike and hugged him. "No matter who I bring in, know I can never love any of them as much as I do you." "I don't doubt it." We had breakfast and Twilight allowed Spike to spend the rest of the day with me. We mostly just worked around my boutique until my usual break time. "I just though of somepony we can add to the herd." Spike seemed a bit uneasy by this. "Who?" "Come, I'll show you." Spike got on my back and I ran towards Sweet Apple Acres. "Wait, is it Big Mac?" Spike asked, a bit worried. "No,but I did discover something interesting about him. I never would have guessed he could be so...musical." Spike let out a sigh of relief when it struck him. "I...didn't take you for one who went both ways, and with Applejack of all ponies." "That, Darling, is quite the story to be honest." We found Applejack bucking a tree. "Hello Applejack." I said. Applejack looked at us. "Hiya Rarity, Spike, what can I do for ya?" "Applejack, you remember what happened after that sleep over at Twilight's?" I asked. "Sleep over are Twilight's?" Spike asked. "Ya'll where away on royal business Spike, yes Rares, Ah remember. Ah also remember telling you that I don't have the time for that kind of commitment." "No need to worry about that, Applejack. Spike and I started a herd.." "YA'LL DID WHAT?" Applejack sputtered out surprised. I told her what transpired last night and this morning. Applejack just gave me a look when I finished. "Rarity, are you sure your doing this for the right reasons? Last time you were acting on feeling after one night of sharing a bed." "I'm sure Applejack, besides, you said you felt the same way." "Alrighty Rares, I'm in. Wait here, I'll be back." Applejack ran off towards the house on the farm. When she return, she was able to rest the rest of the day with us. We met are friends at Sugarcube Corner that afternoon and told them the news, to which we celebrated with delicious confection Pinkie Pie called "Black Forest cake" and some Apple family cider. Afterwards both Spike and Applejack went back home, but dropped by as often as they could over the next few days. Four Days Later The next four days passed by without any sign of Nightmare, and not much happened anyway, except for some nutjob in a metal suit calling herself Takedown crashed and ruined the party Pinkie was throwing for Rainbow Dash's parents, who had just moved to Ponyville and even adopted Scootaloo. Fortunately, Rainbow Dash herself, disguised as the Mysterious Mare Do Well, was able to save everypony there (I notice she was missing when Takedown showed up). Today proved to be rather mundane, I had finally finished Fancy Pant's suit and was just about package it for shipping when there was a crash at my door. I ran to the door and found the local mailmare had crashed into a wall. I pulled her out. "Thanks Rarity." Ditzy Doo said gratefully, but her walled eyes made it impossible for her to look me in the eye. "Not at all Ditzy, I assume you have something for me?" "Oh yeah, here." Ditzy reached into her bag and pulled out a letter from her mailbag. I took it with my magic and looked at the envelope. It was from Hoity Toity. I opened the letter. Dear Rarity, Being as busy as I am, I do hope you would pardon how short this letter is. I would like for you to come here to Canterlot to discuss an extremely important matter. Please take the 9:00 to Canterlot, I will meet you upon your arrival. Signed, Hoity Toity Extremely important business? What could that be? Any orders he has for me are usually sent in the mail, as per our agreement in my contract... MY CONTRACT! He must want to terminate it after the Nightmare Rarity fiasco. It must be hurting business for him. This is the worst possible...wait Rarity, don't jump to conclusions just yet. Unfortunately, it would have to wait until later today, when my friends are available. Dream Come TrueLater that day, I went out to find my friends. I ran into Fluttershy as I walking around town. "Fluttershy, Darling, can you help me with something?" I asked her. "Of course Rarity, what is it?" Fluttershy asked. "Gather our friends, and tell them to met me at my boutique, I have something important to take care of and I need your help." "Okay Rarity, I 'll see what I can do." Fluttershy took of to find them while I returned to my boutique and packed my bags. Not long afterwards, my friends came by. First was Applejack. "Hey Rarity, what's going on?" she asked. "Something that may be good or possible the worst possible thing." I told my herd mate. She came closer and kissed me on my lips in a comforting way, our tongues danced around each other as I felt myself fall into a bliss and my worries slip away. "Ooh." We stopped out kissing and turned the source of the voice, which came from none other than Pinkie Pie. "Why'd you stop? You looked so cute." I do wonder how an extrovert like Pinkie fails to read social situations properly. You'd think somepony who likes to be around other ponies would be an expert on such things. Fortunately, Twilight and Spike walked in to break the awkward moment. "Hey Rarity, what's up?" Twilight asked cheerfully after the awkward moment. "Is something wrong babe?" Spike asked. "No no Spikey, not yet. We just have to wait for Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, and then I'll explain." I replied. The two pegasi in question entered the room. "Ah, good, you two made it. Okay guys, I got a letter from Hoity Toity this morning. He has called me to Canterlot for what says is an extremely important matter. I think I have an idea of what it is, but it's a worse case senerio. However, if it does come to the worse case, and given my recent trauma, I'll need you guys there for emotional support. I know I can't ask all of you to put your lives on hold for me, so I'm asking if any of you are available tomorrow." I told them. "Shoot gal, we're your friends, I think I speak for everypony when I say we'll all go with ya." Applejack said after a moment. "Anything to help Rarity." Spike put in. "Thank you everypony." I replied, getting teary eyed. "We have to be there all day tomorrow,so we'll to take the 9 o'clock train" "Right, we'll be there." Twilight reassured. With the agreements made, we went about preparing for their trip. The Next Day We stood on the platform at the train station. As they waited for the train, a voice called out to us. "Hey guys!" the voice called. We turned to the source of the voice, a red pegasus. "Hi Triple Threat! How 've you been? What have you been up to? What are you..." Pinkie yammered until Triple covered Pinkie's mouth with her hoof. "Nice to see you again too, Pinkie Pie." "Rainbow, this is the pony who covered for you while you were at the Wonderbolt's Academy." Fluttershy told Dash. "It's an honor to met you miss Dash." Triple Threat said excitedly. Rainbow looked upon the new comer. The new pegasus was clearly younger than the six of us, probably still twelve. "So you took over for me, huh? Seem a bit young to be a weather pony." "Only part time. I'm also a rainbow specialist at the factory." "YOU CRUSH PONIES FOR A LIVING!?" Pinkie asked in disbelief. The we gasped in horror. Triple only laughed. "I've heard that rumor too. No Pinkie, rainbow's aren't made of ponies, they're made from spectra, a liquid we get from refracted sunlight." "Oh good, I was afraid I had tasted ponies that one time." "Tasted Ponies?" "It's a funny story really. I... "All Aboard!" The conductor interrupted. "You know what to do, right?" Dash asked the red pony. "Don't worry, I got it." Triple replied. *** The trained pulled into the station and we got off. "Canterlot. I never get tired of coming here." I cheered. "Really? Even though most of the ponies here are snobs who are full of themselves?" Rainbow Dash asked. "That is a stereotype, madam." an upper class voice interrupted. As per his letter, Hoity Toity had come to meet us at the train station. "Not all ponies who live in Canterlot are like that. Though I will admit, that mentality does tend to get the better of most ponies." "My apologies." Dash replied. "Not at all madam." He turned to me. "Come, we've much to discuss." Hoity led us through the city to a large studio building. "This is my "HQ" as it were. Most of my most important jobs are done here." "So, you have an important job for me?" I asked. "Yes, in fact, it's my most important order ever, and I can only trust my top designer to fill it." "TOP DESIGNER!? Sir, you flatter me. What's the job?" "To design Gala dresses for the royal sister." I froze. "D...D...Did you just say design dresses for the royal sister? Don't toy with me sir, it's my life long dream to design for Princess Celestia." I asked in disbelief. "I kid you not, Miss Rarity. I was asked by Princess Celestia herself to make dresses for herself and Princess Luna for the Grand Galloping Gala." I felt lightheaded at the thought. At long last, a chance to design for the princesses. My life long dream finally come true. Oh, this was just too good to true! This... After the NightmareRarity's POV Once again, we were gathered at Sugarcube Corner for a slumber party.
"Oh my, I've got to pack us Opal, mom and dad will be expecting us soon."
First Night BackI trotted towards my parents house with my beloved cat walking beside me and some luggage in tow.
I nodded. "It's who I am."
Too Many Pinkie PiesShortly afterwards, my parents and I all left for work.
This...
