//-------------------------------------------------------// I will hide in the dark -by Japillah- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// CH1 //-------------------------------------------------------// CH1 "Hey, um, where's my.. necklace!" Sugar Blizzard felt her stomach begin to twist. Everypony in the group turned to see her. "Erm.." Sugar attempted to hide her face with her hoof, but miserably failed. "Is there something wrong, young filly?" Word of Clockwise, the tourist, said worriedly. I am certainly not a filly, Sugar thought to herself angrily. She let out a slight frown. "No, sir. You may continue the tour.." Sugar replied shyly. "Ah," Clockwise cocked his head back and began blabbering again about the Everfree Forest. I wish I hadn't even said that my necklace was lost.. but.. but.. it's from me and Fluttershy's mom, why could I have lost it? Sugar thought. She looked down sadly and dug her hoof in the mud. Heartbeats rose up and down Sugar's chest. Where could it be? She began to panic as she asked herself the question over and over. Where could it be..? "And that is the end of our tour, fillies and gentlecolts. You may ponder off back to your home, or else the next day you will find yourself in Midnight Town!" Clockwise shouted proudly to the mob following him, but was staring at Sugar. All the ponies gasped in fright and delight at the same time and ran back to their homes. Clockwise and Sugar were alone. "Why, aren't you going home, young filly?" Clockwise smiled weakly at Sugar. "No sir, i-it's nothing." Sugar replied sadly. She raised her head at the old colt. "Why are you here, Mr. Clockwise?" She heard the old colt grumbling to himself with anger in his eyes. She thought she had heard "Because I belong here", but she only thought she had heard it wrong. "What did you say, Mister?" Sugar asked once again; irritated that the pony only grumbled to himself. She was answered by an angry snarl, followed with another grumble. "You don't belong here. Go." "Mister, I only want to know..?" "GO." "B-but Miste--" "GO!!!" Sugar took off running and hid in the bushes, waiting for Clockwise to go also. She felt tears welling up in her eyes. I'm paying that colt back, I really will, she thought to herself. But the surprise took her for granted when she realized that the old colt was going further to the heart of the forest. She sucked in a shaky breath and pulled herself into the direction where Clockwise was going. Still realizing she hadn't even took a deep breath, Sugar closed her eyes and sighed. Knowing that Clockwise was going nowhere, she stretched her hands, still not looking. That was when she regretted it. She felt her small hooves feel a tiny twig on the leaves, then it suddenly cracked. Clockwise grinned and turned his heel, knowing he would have dinner for his fellow 'friends'. As he turned around, a wicked grin cast on his face, but no one was behind him. A look of disappointment crossed his face, but he made a slight smile. "Where are yooou.. I know you're hiding... and I know you're behind that treeeee..." he smiled, a psychopathic grin made it's way on his face. Sugar exhaled sharply. "IIIIIIssss it youuuu, yoooung fillyyyy?" he laughed. A mock of laughter, that was for sure. Sugar was still able to hold her breath for a few seconds. But her heart was already thudding so hard, and she could only hear a faint breathing in the distance--hers.
