A Ditzy Adventure

We walked into the library to Twilight giving the  other ponies death glares. She turned to us.

" I am so sorry! I told them it was a bad idea but----" I lifted up my hoof to stop her.

" It's okay. They were no trouble twi. Like Cherry Twinkle always said. Where there is none hurt there is no trouble."

Pinkie pie sat down and grabbed a cupcake that was blasted from her cannon earlier.

" Hey Ditz?" She asked me through chews. " How DID Cherry Twinkle die? " Everything was silent.

Rainbow punched the curious pink pony in the arm.

" Pinkiepie! That is the least thing she wants to talk about!" Pinkie pie's hair made a pop as she walked over. I had my head down trying to hold back tears. I looked up to see her hair was dark and flat..

" I   I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking.." she said. I could see the regret in her eyes. Fluttershy walked in front of me but my eyes didn't meet hers. I just looked back down at the ground.

" Come on y'all  lets leave her be." Applejack said.

" No." I said in a quiet voice. It was just barely loud enough for them to hear. * SNIFF * " I ran away because of it. You all should know how it happened.." Fluttershy came over with a sad look.

" No, you dont have to Ditzy it's fine really." She looked at me with a stern look

" You need to know what happened and.. I want to tell. " I looked at all of them as the sat down. Fluttershy sat down beside me. " It happened before i was born... My dad was about to come home with a surprise for Cherry."

18 YEARS AGO

My grandma had been sick and supposedly getting better. She was sitting in a chair reading. Cherry had always been  a little bit skeptical about my dad's long 90's hair.

" Hey mom! I have a surprise for you! " Penn said  opening the door. Cherry Twinkle coughed and looked up from her book with wide weak eyes.

" Is that so? Bring it here then Penn!" My grandmother said as my dad walked in. His hair was a clean up cut he had gotten for her. She gasped " Oh son it looks.. looks " She got up and reached for her glass but fell to the floor coughing.

" Mom are you alright?!" Penn said pulling the coughing Cherry Twinkle to her feet. She just fell again. My grandpa was at work so Penn didn't know what to do. My poor dad was frightened.

" Call....... the hospital." She managed to say through coughs. My dad ran to the kitchen and dialed 9-1-1 on the wall phone.

An operators voice came through. " 911 what is your emergency?! " My dad was crying.

" My mom is falling and coughing. She.... She can barely breath!" There was a faint groan from where his mom was.

" Calm down sir I am sending an ambulance right now. They are on there way. I need you to----". My dad dropped the phone when he heard his mother cry out in pain.

" PENN!! UGGGHH" He rushed to her and put her head on his lap.

He was sobbing like a baby. " Mom I I called the medics. They are SNIFF on there way." She was crying as she looked up at him and gave him her best weak smile.

" Baby shh. I want you to know I love you so so much. Don't you forget it. tell your dad I love him. " She told him weakly

" NO!!! Mom you're gonna be okay.!!!!!" He lied to her. " The medics are on there way, see!?!? " There were sirens out the door getting louder.

" No Penn. The Lord is calling me * COUGH COUGH* I love you.. I love you so so mu-------"

BACK IN EQUESTRIA

I was sobbing like a baby.... Pinkie was being comforted by Twilight who was teared up as well. I was laying with my head under my hoofs. My comforting marefreind was stroking my main.

" Shhhhh It's okay. It's okay." i knew she was trying to help but it wasn't working.

I got up and saw Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash all sitting on the floor trying there best not to cry or in Rarity's case, ruin makeup.

" Guys it's fine you dont have to be this sad!" I told them turning to Fluttershy for help. I gave her a worried look and she just nodded.

" Here i know how to lighten the mood."  She cleared her throat and began to sing.

Stars and moons and air balloons. Fluffy clouds to the horizon. I'll wrap you in rainbows, and rock you to sleep again

Everypony looked at her and smiled Pinkiepie started to sing with her.

Teddy bears of pink, ducks and lambs of white. Don't you cry dear I'm hear now, I'll be your nightlight.

They sang in unison. Twilight and Rarity started to sing along. Everypony walked to me and sat down.

Smiles to cure the frowns. Twirling and tumbling in laughter. Soon your life will always be, happily ever after.

Rainbow shrugged and looked at Applejack who merely nodded. They started to sing along.

Never more will the storms come to destroy your little world. Never more will the waters rise til' the mountains no longer touch the skies

All of them giggled. Pinkiepie's hair was back to normal. Twilight yawned and looked out the window. It was Pitch dark outside and it was starting to rain. " Rainbow did you know about the weather?" She asked the cyan pegasus.

" No actually I didn't go to work today. I was helping Derpy with the mail." The thunder roared and made Fluttershy jump.

" Thunderlane was telling me about a nasty storm though. I guess I forgot.. Hehe" All the ponies just sighed.

Twilight's eyes lit up. " Sleepover night!!!!" Applejack stood up.

" Uh nah I think I am just gonna go head on to the farm. Bye girls.! " She ran outside and Rainbow held up a clock to her eyes. Within a couple of seconds of thunder Aj was back inside. " Actually a sleepover sounds mighty fine Twi. "

All the other mares just giggled. Pinkiepie shot up.

" SLEEPOVER PARTY!!!!"
