One Eye

Rainbow Dash's mother only had one eye. But Rainbow didnt know how she ever got it, and she didn't care. Her friends would always make fun of her because of her mother about having one eye, so she felt ashamed and mad.

She angrily stomped into her mom's house and said, "Mom! You are embarrassment to me! Don't ever show your face to anypony ever again! I will hate you forever!"

Her mother was very saddened to hear those words. But she held back her tears and simply said, "Ok my little dashie. I won't show my face anymore. You don't have to worry about me embarrassing you."

Rainbow Dash then turned into a reckless filly. Every morning, she would wake up, eat breakfast, go hang out with her friends, and cause some destruction. Her mother would always be upset with her when she got home. She would beat/spank her. She has been through it so many times, she kind of got used to it.

Until one day...

Rainbow Dash got spanked again. Except it was different. She didn't feel much when her mother hit her. She went out to her front yard and began to cry. It was weird because she was usually a brave, tough pony who rarely ever cried.

Her friend was taking a walk and spotted Rainbow Dash.

Her friend came over and asked, "Hey Rainbow, what's wrong?"

She cried, "My mom spanked me again!"

Her friend was confused. "But you always get spanked, and you don't care. You said that it never hurt anymore."

Rainbow Dash knew that over the years, her mother was getting older and weaker. And she was also very sad to see her daughter hate her.

"But this time I-I didn't feel anything. My mom is getting weaker..."

"You shouldn't worry about her, just go on and live your awesome life without her!"

Rainbow Dash agreed with her friend and she left her mother in her time of need, for good.

It has been many years since Rainbow left her home in Ponyville, where her mother lived, to do her job and live alone. But she felt like she had freedom now. She felt great.

She was making herself dinner. Sure it wasn't that great, but it was all she had, for now. She was planning to get a better job than her current one, get lots and lots of money, and finally get an awesome house!

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. It was midnight! Who would want to come to her house at midnight? She answered it and saw her mother at the front steps.

She was very surprised to see her mother so old and at her house. So Rainbow angrily said, "Mom! What are you doing here?! I told you to never show your face To anypony ever again! Get out!"

Her old mother was holding back so many tears, but it was a little noticeable. She said, "Sorry Rainbow Dash. I just wanted to check up on you and wanted to make sure you were okay. I guess you're grown up now and don't need me anymore. Goodbye my little dashie."

She left the house after a few minor seconds. Rainbow Dash was alone in the cold, black night. She went back to her dinner but suddenly stopped eating, even though she was starving to death.

"Goodbye mom," Rainbow whispered to herself.

Rainbow's boss told her she needed to head back to Ponyville to take care of some business. Her trip was very long and tiring. The train broke down for about an hour, so there was a pretty long delay before she could get back in Ponyville.

When she arrived back in old Ponyville, she began to walk down the old Ponyvillian street. She passed by many of the houses she remembered before she left, until she noticed her house.

She stared at it for a long time, but it looked so abandoned and dusty. Why would her mother want to live there now?

She asked a pony passing by, "Hey do you know the pony who lives here?"

He said, "Sure do, and she gave me this letter to me and told me to give it to you if you ever came back here."

She grabbed the letter immediately and began to read it :

Dear My Little Dashie,

By the time you read this letter, I will be gone. I know you hate me, but you have been a great loving daughter. I love my little dashie, no matter what you do and what you say.

If you were wondering why I only have one eye, here's why.

When you were born, your father left me. He went to a faraway land, and never returned. I was devastated, but I was still very joyful and lucky to have you in my life. You only had one eye when you were born. I didn't want you to not be able to see, so I told the doctor that I would agree to give one eye to you. I had the surgery and gave you an eye. I wanted your life to be as great as possible.

And that's why I only have one eye. I gave you my eye because you are the best thing that has ever entered my life.

Once again, I will always love you forever and ever, no matter what.

Rainbow began to cry and look at her house. She had broken her mother's heart, and left her in her time of need. She cried in front of her house for days and days on. But after a few more days, Rainbow Dash died of sadness.

She could have done more things to help her before, but it was too late. She had gone to heaven to be with her mother now. Maybe then she will learn the true meaning of love.
