Was this little red vial of blood really worth it? Well I got the cockatrice blood, now to head back home wait for the Ember flower and Mandrake. After a few minutes of boiling out all the impurities in a flask of water I mixed in the few ingredients I got from Zecora. Okay the humans had this thing called a vaccine, I think they took the agent that was harming them to prevent any future cases. Okay so I'll mix Cockatrice blood for the vaccine, Gems to bind it into a healing spell,Ember Flower for the actual healer, and mandrake for an amplifier.
I hope I understood Zecora right, for that lesson. I still barely managed to find a way to connect that into my magic training. What was Celestia thinking? Couldn't she come and save that poor filly herself? Why doesn't my alchemy work on the first time, I've tried replicating this "vaccine" against cockatrice way to many times.
"Twilight?" came a shout from upstairs mottled by a thick country accent. It was AppleJack.
"Yeah, I'm in the lab come on down." I retorted, grinding up some more herbs for the next test.
"Sugar Cube, It hasn't been a week since you came back from the hooman world, why don't you rest before getting back to work?" She said nudging the door open and drawing out some plants from her saddlebag.
"No, I need to do this, I need to save that poor filly. I'm the only one who can."
"Ah'm no magician but what do you need some moldy roots and a flower for?." she said her face staring right past me to my work desk.
"I've been looking at the cockatrice population the closest, petrification has rose 45% in the last year. I'm going to try to create a vaccine so we can stop anyone else from being stone forever." I said adding the bit of root I had to the mortar and started grinding the tips into pulp. While she brought the ingredients "Thanks for getting these for me. I started to ran out of root during the last test and wanted to try Ember in the mix but haven't been able to find any.
"How long have you been at this? It doesn't seem like you slept a wink for days." She said looking a far more than a bit concerned.
"You said it yourself." I said getting back to work splitting the Ember's stem and mixing water with the freshly ground ingredients.
"Well if you need help with anything, anything, I'm here to help you helped me with the orchard so I'll help you with this" She said stepping between me and my lab table.
I guess she could could go fetch the gem dust from Rarity, maybe I can finally tell her this time. I've been trying for so long, why do I keep lying to everyone. I like mares my friends will accept me for whoever I am. Scientifically its normal to be gay. Dogs are, Bison are, Chickens are, Lions are, why can't I come out to my friends then.
Okay back to the supplies, Where to start? Ember Flowers have healing properties that they absorb from the rubies and amber they are grown in, so I should add the mixture through its veins for it to be the source. Mandrake is a root that stores the natural magical energy of its surroundings in the apical meristem, so I should keep mixing them with the gem dust, and blood.IF I've been reading these books right, I should be able to use a healing spell and bind this into a vaccine.
So after that letter from Celestia I had this alchemy set up put in as soon as I could, there are so many problems, so many things. The humans found a way to end all that type of issue, now I should for my people. Wait where did AppleJack go? Gah she must have ran off.
Well I guess I should go to to my sexy frien-.. Amazing friend Rarity. She has always been such a nice friend, making us dresses, making us the horrible dresses we told her to, I would be stuck in the human world forever without her. Well a version of her at least.
Taking one last look at the stacks of books piled on the shelves before I head to bed I surprised myself with how much I could get this quickly after I returned. I managed to get an entire other library, and a full set of anything that could ever been needed in alchemy. I'm going to make my mentor proud. I finally got up the nerve to see rarity and started walking up the stairs and out the front door. The sun barely peaked over the horizon painting the world with an amber glow. I completely forgot, It's 4:15 AM. No pony is up, AJ is crazy for working at this hour. I guess I'll listen to applejack and take a nice short nap.

That was an amazing dream, Rarity and I alone on the beach. She is such a cute mare, lovely mane, gorgeous eyes, nice plo- personality. Well I best be on my way.
After a few uneventful minutes of trotting through town, I finally reached the boutique. The door was unlocked so I let myself in, Rarity was probably working in her shop and waiting for some customer, I really don't understand why she lives here in PonyVille. I'm glad she is thought, I can't say how much I need her here. I hope we can stay friends, I have to ask her, but I wonder if she even likes mare. Probably not. It's never going to happen.
I should try at least, I'm not afraid to fail. I wont fail. I can do it.Oh wait! I've been standing in her door staring at the floor for a while, I hope no one noticed that would be embarrassing. Looking around at all the beautiful dresses and mannequins I thankfully saw no pony, which is good but I actually need to find Rarity. Where or where could that fine mare be. I mean friendly, friendly mare. we are just friends. Well I should still try, yeah I'm going to try. Trotting upstairs, admiring the dresses and vests in her showroom as I go, I open the door to her room and walk in.
"Twilight!" Rarity screamed from her room "A mare needs her privacy, I'm not some bit tramp"
"I uhh Wha-" I said looking up.. looking at.. Rarity, but it wasn't just Rarity, it was rarity and Big Mac. I don't think he was being fitted for a dress..... what is this... this should have been.. me I'm a princess. Her goal in life was to marry royalty, I'm royalty now why wasn't this me. "I'll be going" I said choking on every syllable, bursting into tears and teleporting away dragging some of her damn gems with me.
Flashing into my lab I began angrily working on grinding every last one of the gems into a mangled corpse of its former self, I collected the dust in the dark red vial that the blood and root have been sitting stagnant in. Okay now just to split the Ember root and let it run through the plants veins and I can go lock myself in the study for the next millennium.
"Per sanguinem revinciens, gemmis transmittis, et lapidabunt te lapidibus ludicro et sanabo" I pieced the spell together from the 5 books I flipped open in front of me. A radiant glow flew through the plant arcing out its brilliant red leaves. It illuminated reflecting off the stonework bookcases like a mirror reflects a candle.
Something was wrong, my body hurt. My wings flared out uncontrollably and they hardened. I couldn't move them. They hurt. I looked at them and they were stone, literally my wings were petrified, I tried all I could, they wouldn't move. This is not good, not good at all, I cant reverse this that's what this was for.
*CRACK* oh no *crack* oh please Celestia no. ahhh! The pain arced through my body, agonizing pain was all that I was, it's all I could remember. Then my wings shattered on the floor, and I saw it all end as my hooves tightened up. It was too much, everything went black.
