Uphill Battles
Charlie Stanson was a United States Marine, a part of one of the most superior fighting groups of all time. That was before Charlie threw himself on top of a grenade to save his squad. Now Charlie dreams of strange creatures from far away places.
Stanson threw himself on the explosive at once, cradling it in his abdomen. He saved his squad that day in Afghanistan, but he might not be able to make it himself. While in a german combat hospital, Charlie starts to dream of a place far from where he sleeps, one filled with strange creatures with strange customs. It's more vivid than any dream he's ever had before, and he's starting to doubt what's real and what's not. Can Charlie get back to reality, where his wife waits? Or will he slip into the void of his own mind, unable to differentiate reality from the dreamworld until the doctors pull the plug?
